Regardless, if you are new to martial arts, a seasoned veteran, or if are looking for a fun, and safe place for your kids to learn self defense, I highly recommend New Visions Dojo.My 2 girls - who are now 5, and 7 - joined the training early/mid 2020 - and myself, my wife, and my brother all joined about a month later. Not only are Sensei Ryan and Sensei Chelsie married, their ability to work together to guide all ages and skill ranks is remarkable and fun to watch.I was 40 years old when I joined, and I can say without doubt that The last year has been one of most challenging but rewarding journeys I have experienced.
A great dojo that my family cannot recommend highly enough! Our kids continue to learn and grow through excellent instruction and the adult classes allow for all family members to learn as well. You won’t regret choosing New Visions Dojo!
Guillemet Sensei and Sensei are the best. They have established a culture of learning, growth and competitive fun. As an adult, I was very nervous to get started in something new, but this experience has boosted my confidence and self-esteem and helped me take control of my fitness. They offer fun classes like board breaking and weapons in addition to the weekly classes where we practice technique and sparring. The people who attend are awesome and it’s an inspirational group to be around. We push each other to grow and be our best while still being competitive and having fun. Come join the join the dojo. And special thank you to Chelsie and Ryan for everything they do, and all the hard work, and care they put into their students. Sensei ni rei!
My son likes very much.
This truly a family Dojo. My son and I have been going there for more than two years and we love it. My son especially has developed a big sense of discipline and he is able to focus more on his classes. I am proud to say that thanks to our Senseis, my son has participated in 2 different events across the country, where he has placed 1 and 2 place in two categories. We love the way that Mr. and Mrs. Guillimet, teach their classes. They take the time to look what we need to improve and ensure that by the end of the class we have a clear understanding of the techniques that we are doing.Keep up with the good work, and I hope that this review helps anyone that is interested in joining karate.
What a wonderful Karate school! Within in the first few classes you can easily see that teaching is their passion!!! The Guillemets are very skilled and knowledgeable about their art! They have taken great care to build a wonderful, fun, and instructive environment for all students no matter the age or level of experience. Our daughter has enjoyed their school very much. Cant say enough good things about this Dojo and the Guillements. Look no further, you wont be disappointed:)
Great kid friendly dojo with friendly staff.
New Visions is a great place for both youth and adults to learn martial arts. The Guillamets are fantastic instructors!
Excellent teaching environment
Ive been enjoying lessons here with my wife for over a year. I used to take martial arts for a number of years, and after moving away for college I had a hard time finding a good dojo again.New Visions is a warm and welcoming community, great for both kids and adults. Good for returning students like myself, or complete beginners like my wife.Ryan and Chelsie (the instructors) are awesome at what they do. I appreciate how good they are at explaining the concepts behind the techniques. When attending classes they always managed to keep us motivated.
Sensei Ryan and Sensei Chelsie are the most wonderful karate teachers anyone could have. My 7 year old has been going to the dojo for last 3 years now.
Amazing Karate school, with fantastic instructors!
I have been out of martial arts for 20 years, and while I wanted to start back sooner, the timing was never right, but once I visited this dojo, it reminded me of everything I loved about martial arts as a kid. Ryan and Chelsie are two of the most skilled and knowledgeable martial artists and instructors I have ever met. What I admire most about them is they want their students to learn the art and become skilled practitioners of it.
We highly recommend New Visions Dojo. We tried quite a few different extracurriculars with our 4 year old son (swimming, hockey, taekwondo, gymnastics, music) and he never wanted to go past the trial class, but with New Visions Dojo he had no hesitation about wanting to continue. Every day, he asks us if it’s a karate class day. He loves it that much.Sensei Ryan and Sensei Chelsie have cultivated a very welcoming, encouraging, and joyful environment in their dojo. They have a great group of older sempais in class to help encourage and guide the younger children, and they are always mixing up the activities in class to keep the kids excited. We look forward to seeing our son growing even more in this wonderful community of people. Thanks New Visions Dojo!
Hands down best dojo in Middle Tennessee! My daughter and son LEARN karate here. We have reviewed several other schools. None are like New Visions Dojo. The Guillemets are down to earth, fun, experienced and extremely adept at teaching karate. We have attended other schools and my daughter has had several problems with them all. one of the main issues was in thinking girls are inferior to boys by the instructors. Other issues include: bad teaching, screaming angrily at children, and holding students back for multiple reasons. Not everyone who knows karate, (even someone with a high degree black belt) can teach karate but the husband and wife instructor combo at New Visions dojo, Chelsie and Ryan, sure know how to TEACH very well.Great family karate school, I HIGHLY recommend over every other place we have tried!
Both instructors care for their students on and off the mat. With my 3 years of training with them, I couldnt thank them more!
Really good instructors, good environment, good students.
Great staff kids love it.
Good environment, good kids, good instructors
Ryan and Chelsea are fantastic!
It is super fun!
