My family and I have trained under Master David Turnbull for years. Each year at camp and usually another time or two a year, we have the privilege to learn from his instructor, Master Kathy. Master Kathy knows how to motivate and get the most out of every student, including my boys who are autistic. Each time she teaches us she has a new lesson. Each time the lesson sticks. If you have the opportunity to learn from Master Kathy and her students, take it. You will surprise yourself, as she gets the best out of you.
Were relatively new to KSA, but my daughter and I are already huge fans. The instructors are thoughtful and patient, excellent at explaining the why behind what youre learning. Its an incredibly positive place thats dedicated to empowerment in all its forms. The lessons they teach there, both on and off the mat, are exactly what I want my daughter to be learning! I encourage anyone who might be interested to come check out a class!
The instructors are incredible, both in terms of their martial arts skills, their ability to teach, and their holistic loving view on life. Ive been practicing Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts there for about half a year and it has been a challenging but very positive experience. Ive heard others talk really positively about their kids class, Taekwondo, and Hapkido arts as well. Highly recommend!
Great school. Competent, experienced teachers with diverse backgrounds. Martial arts are made accessible to anyone, with an emphasis on the transformative power of practice which affects the rest of a students life. Great support for parenting, growing up, and maintaining a practice throughout a lifetime.
Its a place like no other! The instructors are certified trainers that have trained Olympians and the community is very kind. Its a wonderful place to train.
Their tae kwon do classes have been extremely helpful for our son to be more disciplined and focused. The instructors are great at demanding respect while making it fun.
I studied under Master Wieczerza for over 17 years. She is gifted both as a martial artist, and as an instructor. Master Wiz is compassionate, and yet she is able to push students to their maximum potential. Regardless of age, whether male or female, you will be amazed at how both your physical and mental abilities are constantly challenged, in a positive and supportive environment.Grand Master Wieczerza does not have an ‘institution’. She has a Family. The number of active Black Belts she has raised over the years is astounding. Even those of us who have ‘retired’ from active participation still feel an attachment. You won’t find a better family to join.
Master Cat & Liz are amazing! My husband and i extremely enjoy their weekly classes and private lessons during the weekend. We try our best to make it to their weekly classes but since we commute from Clarksville, Cat & Liz were willing to do some weekend classes for us. Cat & Liz are THE most heart-warming individuals. My husband has years of marital arts training whereas I am a complete newbie beginner with 2 left feet. But Cat & Liz are able to instruct us both where we leave every lesson with full knowledge and gratitude. Not only do we learn about discipline and techniques in martial art, KSA martial art is a great couple activity as well! It is our weekly couple activity. They have Self Defense, aikido, Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Goju-Shorei Weapons, Bruce Lees Jeet Kune Do (JKD), and Tae Kwon Do (TKD). We especially enjoy the FMA and JKD. Coming from California where my husband trained in these two discipline, he says they are on par with other Inosanto based instructors. KSA actually teaches you how to defend yourself. KSA is NOT a place where you hit a dummy and run away. They actually mentally and physically prepared you in case of any danger. They changed my life and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you Kat & Liz and see you soon!
My kid had a fantastic experience at KSA.
