The instructors are not only experts at the art, they are also warm and friendly, and work hard to create an environment conducive to learning. Ive been driving down to Nashville (a 3 hour round trip from where I live) several times per month for years now, just to get the chance to train with this wonderful group.
Such a great place to learn. If anyone is looking for true teaching and blance I suggest Yall come try it out. This place is FOR REAL!!!!
Aikido is a wonderful martial art and Nashville Aikikai is an excellent dojo for studying this unique art form.Great people, great training.
I have been practicing aikido since 2005 and training at Nashville Aikikai since I moved to Nashville in 2008. I absolutely love the dojo. The teachers are experts and are fantastic! They are patient and honest. The atmosphere of the dojo in East Nashville is excellent.... a perfect place to train. And I couldnt ask for better training partners (and friends).
Ive been training here since 2008. Its a great place to do aikido, everyone is really friendly and the instructors are fantastic.
The thing that first attracted me to this dojo was the accepting nature of the instructors and students. People are accepted for who they are and their training objectives are respected. The result is that one finds a great blend of students -- everything from people starting out on a new fitness path or exploring martial arts for the first time, to dedicated long term aikido students. It is a great space and the instruction in well grounded in the fundamental aikido regimen coming from O Sensei and the central dojo in Tokyo.I also like that it is a club in the sense that no one makes a profit off the dues...all money goes to the expenses of the dojo.
I have been practicing Aikido (Aikikai) since 2006, starting in Germany, then in NC (Triangle Aikido) and since 2012 here in Nashville. I truly enjoy the way AIkido is taught here: The AIkido philosophy and way of living are respected and encouraged at all levels. The instructors are extremely respectful to everybody and have obviously worked very hard to achieve not only their training status but to build such a wonderful Dojo were everybody is welcomed. There is as well a really nice blend of people coming from different schools and with different martial art training backgrounds, which feeds into the integrative character of the Dojo. Also, the Dojo hosts especial seminars every some few months, when people from neighboring (and not so close) Dojos come and share their passion for the art. Those are amazing opportunities to train with Aikido masters and fellow Aikidokas.I am extremely happy to have found such a place to further learn and practice Aikido here in Nashville, and I can only encourage people of all kinds and backgrounds to come and train with us.
Great training environment with great instructors
