Over a year ago, I needed to create a 501c3 for my youth development program. I had a fiscal sponsor for years before, but it was time to manage the process myself. FG was EXTREMELY helpful, extremely patient in answering all of my questions, diligent in interviewing me so that they could do the best job to understand my program and ensure I was in compliance. I am a business manager and have a client desiring to set up a Private Foundation. I initially searched for an attorney to assist with the set up and to help with the IRS exemption application. The costs, however, were prohibitive: I had quotes from two different attorneys with minimum fees of $15,000. I discovered Foundation Group in a Google search. I contacted them and their fees for far more reasonable and they were genuinely interested in providing assistance. This company is great. They have nailed it. The entire process of working with them is efficient and super organized. They have intake interviews that facilitate the entire process. And their web-based approach, where you have a dashboard with a task list, etc., works great. Everything is super organized, user-friendly and they are quite responsive. They clearly are experts at this and I am so thankful that I discovered them. I am recommending them to all of my colleagues. I signed up with Foundation group in 2007 to help me through 501 c 3 process. They made me pay $1800 to help me with 501 c 3 application process and $190 for yearly tax report. They didn’t help me move one step and when I asked them why they are not starting my process to apply for 501 c 3 after receiving the payment, the owner called me and said he only helps Christian organizations. He had hatred for non-Christians. When I asked for refund he said no to refund. He hates non-Christians but he doesn’t hate their money I guess. Eventually I got them to refund by reporting to Better Business Bureau. He only paid $1800 not $190, he still owes me $190. I am writing this review so that it will help others not to get deceived by this fake organization. If Foundation Group takes your money and doesn’t help you please report them to BBB and they will help you get your refund.

It is now 14 months into my application [no approval yet] and my experience has been very disheartening. I just got off the phone with Dee Hollinger, apparently the owner, who hung up on me. This was AFTER apologizing numerous times for admitting their errors, BUT... not willing to do ANYTHING about it.I could write a couple pages of how long and cumbersome the rejection letter process has been, but just be warned in advance - use another service and dont get dragged into Foundation Group ways.You will be told to do things to try to get entity approval quicker and easier, only to have to Amend it afterward. For instance I am setting up a place for children and animals and was instructed to just apply for animals because it will be approved easier, then add in children later.Then when you need to amend it, they dont tell you that youll need a lawyer YOU have to pay for it yourself, AND the amendment process is incredibly tough... but that they did their job already.They will also deny that their associates recommend to do this...They also changed the fees on me without giving me any warning during a year of speaking to their sales team. Dee admitted they were supposed to give me 90 days notice, and conveniently said she doesnt have access to any of my prospect sales records, and dont expect any refund for us not following our procedures and not warning you in advance. Now the service is increased to $3K for nothing but headaches and loooooong turnaround time to get documents in order. Again, Im 14 months in, 2 rejection letters down, and Foundation Group doesnt even have record of 1 of the letters! Worse, neither should have been sent in if they knew what they were doing because they were immediately rejected by the state.If youre looking to get a 501c3 approved:Google quickly for other companies - Foundation Group will be nothing but headaches for $3,000 until they up the price again without warning, all while youre trying to do something good for the world and get dragged through their muddy organization filled with incompetence and disrespectful people.
