We love living at Sheffield! Moving from Pittsburgh to Nashville without visiting first was hard for us, but the staff ensured a smooth transition. It’s a quiet community with friendly people. We highly recommend living here!
2/11/2021 Cleaning under the stove revealed large hole in the wall where light from the outside can be seen. Property management was contacted with pictures, but no effort to repair this has ever been mentioned or attempted.3/27/2021 Maintenance and staff was made aware of a leak above the sliding door. Two minor repairs were made to mitigate the issue pending replacement of doors and windows in the spring. Replacements were never made.6/15/2021 Staff made us aware of a pending inspection for the entire property. No such inspection was made in my unit.7/17/2021 Upstairs flooded the kitchen causing damage to the fridge outlet, no steps were taken to dry water out of walls, ceiling, flooring.7/23/2021 The requested Electrician arrived but after repairing the outlet, the fridge was pushed back into place ripping up the vinyl flooring. The glue had come undone due to mistreatment of earlier water damage. Fridge remains in the middle of the kitchen.7/25/2021 Heavy rain once again caused the leak above the sliding door to re-open. Maintenance was contacted, but no person has reached back out to me regarding repairs.Staff and maintenance neglect is slowly deteriorating the property building. No resident property has been damaged as of yet, but the lack of response leads tenants to believe nobody cares about the property itself. The mistreatment of water damage will lead to further degradation of the property and more severe repairs long after we are gone. Not to mention mold growth inside the walls can and will affect tenants in multiple units.
If I could do 0 or below stars I would. My first waring would be: do your research about what to look for when moving into a new apartment. Me and my fiancé didnt and I feel as though we were taken advantage of immensely! now to get into why Im leaving this review. We moved in June 2020 and only lived there a year.1. the apartment we got was noting like the show apartment as it was so dirty, like our feet were black even after a week of mopping.2. when we were able to get a good look at the A/C the board it was on was COVERED in black mold and it looked like it was about to collapse. The unit itself was rusted and falling apart, and the filter was also covered in mold.3. we were told that the A/C units were going to be replaced soon but when we asked for priority because it was medically concerning how much mold there was we were told that we would have priority. but it gets better because after 6 months of waiting on a new A/C we were told that the budget on new A/C units were reached and we wouldnt get one till sometime till 2021, and we had not received till the day we moved.4. if you file a maintenance request... good luck. from my experience they either 1) never show up but say they did 2) come 3-8 hours later or 3) just never come and ignore the request. shorty after our move in, our A/C broke and it got to 98 degrees in out apartment and it took them over 6 hours to come. when they came to look at the A/C unit we pointed out the black mold and they just said oh thats mildew and did nothing to fix it5. management and maintenance is a joke except for Karlie and one of the maintenance guys who no longer work there. management makes you feel like scum between there toes and and maintenance makes you feel like their so much better than you, especially when youre a girl, all it is is a bunch of mansplaining and dumbing things down.6. These apartments are not night shift friendly as the yard work goes from 7am-10am since they care move about the outside and care nothing at all about how they are having their tenants live.7. bug are a Terrible problem, from roaches to centipedes. I dont know if its just the 1st floor but no matter how much you clean, it will never be clean8. This part is what made us so glad we were moving in 2 weeks (not that this was going on for two weeks) the A/C unit started to go out so they came to fix the part so it wouldnt but and leak. skip to a couple of days and below and behold, the leak has started. with many maintenance request, they finally showed and supposedly fixed it but it only got worse. at first it was just a trail of water, then it started puddling. I called maintenance but they never came that day. the next day they showed up and I just told them not to worry about it because it seemed to stop and thats when the man proceeded to say so Im not going to get anymore calls about this, right? that when I said we will see and closed the door in his face because I was so fed up at this point. the worst of it was the last two days we were there. it FLOODED the whole laundry room, it got under the washer and dryer and all under the vinyl flooring. we used all of our towels to try and get the water. at that point it was 8pm so I called the ON CALL 24/7 emergency line and the same man from before told me he was 3 hours away and wouldnt be able to come till the next day. I said ok and that I was paying for the damage that it will enviably cause.9. just to warn future seekers that you will paying for all the maintenance repairs that you request.. and its in the lease so read it VERY carefully if you decide to move in, which I strongly advise you dont. we havent even gotten back our security deposit and Im sure that we never will because they like to scam people here.10. The parking situation is a mess due to the little amount of spacesI was nice in this review as what is in my notes was way to long.
Incredibly disorganized. Unit was filthy when I moved in. Changed my doorknob while I was out of town and I was locked out with no notice. Changed my mailbox lock without notifying me. Still waiting for my security deposit two months after moving. Constantly had to monitor my bill for false charges. Not worth the rent. Do not recommend.
This place is terrible. Everything is run down and painted over. There is never a maintenance person willing to work. The pool is pretty much always closed too.
As a current resident, this place has a tough time living up to the promised expectation and experience of the tenants here. Let’s start by confirming how incapable the office is with answering within business hours the phone. Emails that state awareness but no follow up to their schedule. Hire the cheapest companies to fix more thorough issues. The list goes on but just wanted to state my honest opinion. Looking for a apartment that you have to put bandaids over the problem to fix it? Here’s the place for you!
The pool has been closed more than it is open. The hours when it IS operational are so limited that its a waste of time. Its been very frustrating. Other communities are NOT THE SAME and blaming the pandemic is not a valid excuse.Communications about things happening such as water shut off and closing amenities and apartment entry is aweful.I like having a washer and dryer in my apartment. My neighbors are friendly. The area the apartments are in is close to things I need.
Ive lived at Sheffield Heights since 2011, when we moved from Long Island. I cant imagine living anywhere else in Nashville with such close proximity to so many locations. Comparatively speaking, our community is well managed and a safe place to live. Newer complexes may have shinier upgrades, but our units offer much more square footage than most. Happy to be here!
I lived at Sheffield for near 5 years. It was my first apartment and I undoubtedly stayed 4 years too long. Police are now omni-present and break-ins were frequently reported (I heard the stole the last property managers mercedes!). And after all this...They are trying to keep my security deposit due to shoddy record keeping!!! There have been several changes of ownership. Price was decent before but has kept going up. I do miss the location and convenience. But this is not worth it.
Karlie is by far the best person to work with for anything and everything. She is so sweet and professional and will do anything she can to help. I will never forget my experience with her and I can’t wait to work with her more.
Girlfriend got an airbnb here. Price fit the establishment. No bugs so thats a major plus. Place was clean and up to date. Thank you Tina M. Gantry.
UPDATE: After sending a very harsh email to the office and threatening to come into the office every day until all the stuff in my unit is fixed, Im on the schedule for this coming week for all repairs and the regional VP has been made aware of my units conditions and read my email. These people do not give a fuck. You have to babysit them to get anything accomplished. The pool is closed again for minor repairs. Supposedly well be getting sidewalks and new windows soon but who knows how true that it. Im REAL close to losing my shit on whoever is above the regional VP.Were probably moving out when our lease is up.When we moved in we had a long list of stuff that had to be fixed immediately and only after sending a very firm email to the office did half of the things get repaired. Our 3rd bedroom (guestroom/ office) was obviously smoke damaged. We moved into this community because we needed a 3 bedroom as I was expecting our first child, so we were put into a smokers unit after being told it was smoke free and cleaned which was awful and clearly not true. We werent allowed to see the unit before giving money for deposit and rent. They came in and ran the ozone machine several times which did nothing. It took us washing the walls with vinegar and water for hours to make the smell subside for the most part, luckily this was not in our daughters room. Our dryer wouldnt work when we moved in because of all the lint in it and the washer wasnt hooked up and were also ancient (the guy who replaced them a few months later referred to the appliances as dinosaurs). Weve now been here for 16 months and for how much we pay, the age of the amenities and buildings its honestly INSANE. The only thing keeping us in this rental is the fact that we dont plan to remain in Nashville forever and we dont want to move again until we leave the metro area. The office sucks at communication and thats mostly because the office staff has the the highest turnover rate Ive ever seen at any job ever. Since Feb of 2020 theres been at least 10 different staff members. This is our second summer here, last year the pool was closed 80% of the summer due to covid/ chemical imbalances and sheer laziness. I had 10 times where they didnt open the pool until I physically stood outside of the office and waited for them to open the gate. The pool is currently closed (6/5/21) because of a chemical imbalance so it wasnt even open for a week before being closed and the only reason why an email got sent out to residents about it is because I went as soon as the pool was supposed to open and I was told that it was not going to be open for the next 3 days. Everyone that has worked in the office has been nice but the failing communication and constant turn over makes it incredibly hard not to be mad at the people working in the office. The apartment walls are thin, one of my toilets has broken 5 times since moving in (water running issues or cheap internal parts breaking) and only because I called the on call phone on a holiday weekend did someone come out and fix it with proper equipment. Things in my kitchen have been broken for 6 weeks (I emailed the office 6 weeks ago with photos) and no one has checked on them. I hate living here. It would be more expensive to move into another place even if its cheaper monthly especially if wed only be there for a year or less. Im 29 and Im pretty sure the fridge in my kitchen is older than me. The Donelson area is nice and its only 10 minutes for us to get to work and the airport access is wonderful. For real, dont move here. I can tell that Morgan is really trying to make improvements here and there throughout the complex but the place is still janky as hell. They might as well bulldoze everything and start over. It would probably cost less to do that then upgrading these shitty buildings.PSA: The maintenance manager is so kind though, I give him 5 stars as a person and every time hes come to fix something, its fixed correctly the first time.
This has been the worst living experience ever. I have lost track of how many work order requests I have had to submit due to things not working properly, being broken and so forth. I experienced plumbing issues, problems with smart technology not working which led to me and my six year old being locked out of our apartment, leaks, smoke detector not working, thermostat not working and us experiencing extreme heat during some of the hottest times of the year, lack of responsiveness by staff (staff that eventually were all fired). I experienced all of these issues and more while having lived here less than a year.
Not a tenant at Sheffield but I was heavily considering it. I wanted to praise the staff from my visit to the property. The people I met were kind and courteous. I even left some paperwork behind in one of the model units and got assistance in retrieving it the following day (Thank you again for helping me with that Shannon!). The only reason I didnt sign a lease was because the location is a little problematic if you dont have your own vehicle for transportation.
I lived here with my spouse for little over a year. Nothing but problems from this place! We had mold everywhere under every sink due to leaks that went on for months and months because no one every responded to our maintenance request. After 6 months they came and taped the sink up and painted over the mold. They ended up firing all the old staff and got new staff that are just as bad as the last ones. Very rude and unprofessional! Don’t ever have a problem with your apartment because they will have a problem with you.
I lived here for 15 months when Morgan properties just started their management. It was awesome experience. I felt secured with good community neighbor and services provided during this time was very friendly, supportive and good. My washing machine and dryer were replaced with brand new when repair happened. Thanks again Gina and Shannon
I live here at Sheffield Heights and I just love the service in the office! These ladies are always so friendly and helpful. If anything needs to be fixed the maintenance team is on it and always friendly as well. Thank you for all your support making Sheffield Heights a great place to live!
Sheffield Heights is nice. Much much nicer than 1092 Moss trail in la Verne. That location is a rundown transit rental property whereas Sheffield Heights appears nice and is comparable in price to that transit shack on Moss trail in lavergne. So before purchasing our renting please look at this property and review your options.
Stopped by to look at an apartment, was told to come back in about 30 minutes. Came back exactly 25 minutes later and a different woman said sorry but we cant show after 5:30 6 minutes after and refused to show the apartment.Get your facts right! And it makes great business sense to turn away potential customers. This first impression was a good indication of how the office runs.
If you’re looking for somewhere to live, DON’T MOVE HERE! I’ve been living her for about 3 years and each time I renew my lease I would have to BEG them to renew the apartment, spray for bugs, and etc. That should be mandatory, they ask me to pay money to get the carpet cleaned, fix things that weren’t broken by me and etc. If i get my lease re new’ed you’re SUPPOSED TO do all these things free of charge. These apartments have spiders, roaches, and etc. I promise you, you don’t want to move here! The staff is really nice and cool but when it comes to the property manager its a different story! Sad to say, I have to finish the rest of my lease🤦🏿♀️ Dont make the same mistake I did.
This new management (Morgan properties) is so good!! They have done so much for the citizens that the other management has never done. They added new lights, new concrete, repainted the parking lots, painted the doors/door frame, added new signs, cleaned the outside of our apartment, added a new park, repainted the fences, added new furniture to the pool, added new tiles to the pool, and had residence appreciation month!
We lived there for 3 years and it was a nice experience with the old management. But after the new management took over, our experience was not good at all. Our deposit was never returned at the first place, I had to follow up at least 10 times and finally I received the deposit. I wish the old manager Kim is hired for this place again as the old manger and the mangement was far better than the current one.
I do not recommend this place! Shannon was rude! Gina was very nice though. We had a bad experience with this place. We did get approved but glad we did not accept.
I love living here so much; this apartment feels like a home I can be proud of. I have never had an issue here with the old management nor the new management. I can always count on the maintainance team to quickly resolve any issue and the office staff is always very polite. This apartment is night and day compared to the last place I lived in; you can really tell here that the staff care about the property and people. My only negatives are a small kitchen and closets and the appliances are very outdated for the rent that is payed. Also the new lights installed recently that turn on automatically at night (while I understand they improve safety) shine incredibly bright into windows at night and make it incredibly difficult to sleep unless you use blackout curtains. The apartments have recently had new air conditioners installed and a new playground and outdoor gym/exercise park has been built which I am very excited to use in the upcoming warm weather! Im very thankful to the caring management and look forward to what they have planned next.
I been here past 3 years. My lease was over a year ago and I was doing montg to month rate. I got a call few weeks ago and was forced to sign lease and when I asked what would my rent be I was told its 1035$ which what i had saw on lease while signing. I came to find out my rent for this month its 1255$, I called to ask this shouldnt be my rent I was told I miss understood my rent. Was told my rent is 1195$ and 10 insurance that should be 1205 not 1255. Top of that they scamming this pay for parking optional $25 a month. This is not up north parking should be free. I shouldnt pay to reserve spot. This just non senses another way for them to make money. Maintenance is horrible you have to go multiple times to get things fixed. I cant wait until I find another place and leave. Ill pay anything to brake this dam lease. Its not worth for price there are much more better place than this. DO NOT MOVE IN.
Ive lived at Sheffield heights for 4 years - and I have best experience Ive had, and I definitely recommend them to others. The staff have always been great to us, and have responded very quickly when things needed to be fixed. good atmosphere to stay for families, reasonable rent. very close to airport. also, they provide free access to internet and printer at leasing office.
Seeing a place going down! I live here for more than 3 years, when I moved in, this place was good for the rent (cheap rent), now the apartment management changed including the manager, we have just got the uncouth manager ever. She never listens to anyones request brought up to the front office, she will quickly say the same thing again and again and ask is there something else? with a big fake smile. Rent has gone up for this old apartment which has no proper kitchen appliances, very old stuffs like carpet, bathroom accessories etc.., any maintenance complaints which will not be looked into for many days (sometimes weeks), tennis courts which has only one net (torn) and the court can be used only during leasing office hours (forget weekend or post 6 PM play), kids play area with sharp wood pieces on which you cannot leave your kids to play, cops visiting the apartment now and then for criminal activities, even when any criminal/emergency events happens manager does not share full details to residents even after we ask, walking during dark hours is not safe at all, no proper lighting (for past 3 years anyway) and this apartment is not fenced.Just waiting for my lease to be over!
Initially, it was a decent place to live. However, now that the management has changed it has gone downhill quickly. The manager at the front office seems to say almost anything to save face (very fake). The maintenance is ok, but the buildings have rotten wood, spiders, odd tenants, and the rent is somewhat high considering the state of the property (even for Nashville in 2016). However, I will say it is safe and semiclose to downtown and midtown. Save yourself the trouble, get more for your money and move to Hermitage or another surrounding area.
DO NOT GO HERE!I was at military training for over a month in June, and when I come back, ready to move out of Sheffield Heights, I found out I have to pay for August rent, because I didnt give a 60 day notice back before June. Now maybe that 60 day time frame is reasonable for apartment complexes, but did we get ANY TYPE of reminder that we needed to do that?! NO!!!!! Not until JUNE 27th, when it would have been TOO LATE already!I am disgusted that you are THAT money hungry to try to screw over your renters like that!!Also....The payment process is absolute BS for any adults who are joining on a lease. Either one has to pay in full online, or you all physically have to go in to pay the check! Pretty crazy for 2017. Carpets - are nasty. We had a water leak from the hvac - they only gave us a GIANT fan to air out the carpet until someone could fix it after the weekend.....still smells like mold there.I had a water leak at my bathroom sink faucet- wasnt fixed. Water leak UNDER my sink faucet (water was everywhere), was only fixed after calling about it 3 times.Spiders are everywhere on the first floor. Spiders and spider webs hang out in the entryways. And what happens when you ask the desk about it? They give you the sticky pads....thats it.We have cracks in our ceiling. My bathroom door doesnt properly fit into the door frame, which means the building has shifted. The kitchen is tiny and poorly lit. There were more issues, but I just cant think of them at this moment.I am not one to complain or write bad reviews. But after being completely screwed over, and to now have to pay for an entire MONTH that isnt on my lease, I was furious. This place is awful!
I am staying in this apartment since 2014. Horrible experience in the recent days since the management changed. The outspoken genuine manager was replaced and the assistant got promoted as a property manager who is a filthy liar since beginning with a counterfeit smile on her face and never even pays attention when someone speaks. now, what went bad with the new management, the rent was increased more than $150 per month all of sudden, Maintenance requests were ignored for several weeks now even if there is a water leak (surprised to see this for the first time in years). There are two doors for swimming pool and the tennis court but out of the one door was never opened. Two doors were kept for easy access for people staying either side of the pool or courts. If you are staying in the other side go round the pool or court to enter in to it. (some times this manger closes the entire court and swimming pool without any information posted). There is a tennis court but people will be walking with their dogs and skate boards and they torn the nets which never replaced for decades. there are many assaults happened in the building of the apartments (even a person had some problem and died inside the apartment for 3 days the body were lying without notice but the manager will lie (she is a filthy liar obviously ) say he was serious and taken to the hospital). Swimming pool is not cleaned as like as the previous management. (still wondering why am I paying more). Staying here still because my spouse works near and he dont want to move until he gets a promotion in his job. Hopefully will leave this apartment very soon.
Very old apartment not worth the rent paid, with one thunder fan felt off from the ceiling.. All the provided electronic equipments are very very old, must have bought 10 years back. Swimmimg pool water too bad, its not changed for a long time and water is dirty..
Older complex excellently maintained! Residents are friendly, maintenance staff actually fix things and the grounds look beautiful all the time. Even cigarette butts are picked up! Quarterly inspections are mandatory, but I suspect thats what keeps out the riff - Raff so it is a very minor thing to overlook. I love the location as well. Im 2 minutes from airport, 3 minutes from Briley and I-40, 10-15minutes from downtown. Being in the limo business, its the best location Ive ever lived at!
I paid $100 security deposit and I was supposed to move in OCT, but due to job reasons i had to move to a different state and i did not move into Shieffield heights. Now they are not refuding my money as they are saying it is part of agreement that if i do not move in on date mentioned on the lease agreement, then they will not refund the money back.
What I experienced since moving to this place I find difficult to put in words. All due to the manger and her staff.
Great place for under 1000 a month
Not very expensive.. it is ok
Maintenance sucks. Mold on the ceiling and they came and painted over it
Worst experience, the property manager has the roughest behavior i have seen so far in my life.
*AVOID this place at any cost*Very old rotten apartments, no sound proof walls, old kitchen appliances, outdated carpets, torn tennis net, never maintained play area, non working gym equipment and racist manager and with fake smile ignoring all service complaints.
Very kind
