I used to look in the mirror and think I looked ok for my age, then one day I realized I wanted to look even better. After some research I read that women 40+ could see a huge improvement if they incorporate strength training. Michael has helped with nutrition and weight training. I’ve learned that it is a life style change and not an overnight success. Even when I fall off the wagon he’s taught me to just regroup and not to be so hard on myself.Let’s just say, I’m very happy with my results so far !

I have always lived a healthy lifestyle and exercised regularly, but needed more nutritional guidance mainly with gaining muscle and leaning down. I contacted Michael and started a nutrition and training program to align with my goals. Training and nutritional monitoring was all done online through apps such as MyFitnessPal and Trainerize, and I would check in with Michael on a monthly basis for in-person body measurements. After a couple years of learning how my body responded to changes in macronutrients, and experimenting with bulking and leaning down, I decided to prepare for a physique competition. Michael designed a workout and nutrition program to prepare me for the event. When the competition was cancelled [due to COVID-19], Michael suggested I do a photoshoot instead. Michael connected me with a photographer and we scheduled a date for the shoot. The week leading up to the photoshoot, Michael guided me each day and adjusted my diet to get my body to look its best leading up to the shoot. The experience was worthwhile and I was happy with the results!

Michael has been exactly what I need to accomplish my health and fitness goals. Having struggled for far, far too long with mental health issues surrounding appearance related to weight, and periods of drastic weight changes from self derived, often crazy, restrictive ideas, his emphasis on creating a life style has helped me to gain confidence and a feeling of control over my food choices, and a direction with workout regiments. Among so many other lessons, he has taught me that a number on a scale doesnt define me. He offers little phrases that just resonate so well in my day to day life, like doing things with intention, which I absolutely apply to my eating and workouts, in particular. Additionally, and indeed most effective for me, is the constant communication and feedback. He is virtually always accessible. Any questions, no matter how significant or insignificant they may seem, he gets back in a timely, personal fashion; like responses that have genuine thought behind them, rather than generic ones. Moreover, his teaching style is super positive and supportive. He understands and conveys that life does happen. Things will not always go smooth. But again, one meal, one day, one weekend, does not define you. He will just steer you back to the lifestyle. Overall, I really cant say enough about him and the positive impact he has had on my life, and I would encourage anyone that wants to make real changes in their health to call him. You seriously wont regret it.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mike professionally as well as training with him personally and I highly recommend Mike to any of my clients or anyone looking to change habits or achieve fitness goals. He develops personalized workout plans so that when his clients cant be with him in person, they can still do their workouts in the comfort of their own homes or at their box gyms. He combines the right amount of tough love and years of experience to keep his clients accountable and successful. But dont let him fool you, he really is a softy with an amazing heart.

I have been working with Michael since June of 2019. I’ve been a part of his nutrition program, online training, as well as doing in-person training sessions 2-3 times a week.Working with Michael is not only educational but it has allowed me to change my body in ways I didn’t know possible! In the year and a half - I’ve lost 27 pounds. He’s also helped change my thinking around fitness and health entirely.I would highly recommend Michael to anyone. He’s patient, helpful, and a wealth of knowledge. I look forward to my in-person training sessions each week. He’s constantly adapting my program to accommodate me and continue pushing me each week.

I needed help getting back to health after years of neglect and overeating. I’ve been lifting weight on/off for 30+ years but gave up. I wanted to get healthy and turned to the only logical solution. Mike provided everything I needed: Support, proper food and great workouts. He said take it slow and change your life. I lost weight, gained energy and have healthy goals. I have been working with Mike for almost a year and my results have been amazing!! Mike makes a great accountability partner and provides a real world approach. Nothing is off the menu and his workouts are on point without being bodybuilder focused (unless that is what you are looking for). He provides lots of material that really helps make the most out of is plans. He is a great coach and really listens to his clients. I worked with Michael for about 4 months as Covid 19 brought an abrupt end to our working relationship. In that short time, Michael broadened my horizons on strength training immensely. I think his best qualities are thoroughly listening and creating programs specific to the client. I was spinning my wheels a bit in my training before I signed up, but I gained some direction, and thus focus, and have packed on some muscle while learning to love throwing around some iron even more. Call him!

I have been working with Mike at Inspire Fitness for almost 2 months now and I have to say how it was one of the BEST decisions I could have made for myself. Before I had my baby, I knew I wanted a coach to help me with losing the weight. I had my baby in January and was introduced to Mike in the beginning of April. After our first consult, I knew he was the right coach for me. I appreciate his weekly checkins, advice and guidance on the nutrition side of fitness. He also isn’t a coach that just tells me what to do, he asks me what I think and values what’s important to me on my journey and that is something I appreciate the most. I’m pretty disciplined and eat fairly healthy, but what I was missing, was accountability and someone to listen to me on what my goals were and help me create a roadmap to get there. I have lost 44lb in January and I have to thank Mike for continuing to work with me to help me reach my goals!!! If you have fitness goals, I HIGHLY recommend a consultation with Mike!!

I have worked with Michael for the past 2 years and have lost a total of 55lbs to date. It is one challenge to lose the weight and be healthy, but the real key is learning how to keep it off. Michael sat down with me from day one and we talked about what my goals were. I’m not a body builder and don’t have hours on end to commit to the gym. I was skeptical when searching for a trainer for many reasons. I didn’t want a trainer who would push certain products on me, who would push me into what I thought was a “body builder routine” (hours at the gym 7 days a week), set unrealistic goals for me or cost me my life savings. A coworker recommended Michael and I am forever in her debt.From the first conversation I knew he was the right fit. Although my coworker was a body builder, Michael heard me when I said I was looking to loose excess weight, but only had an hour a day to commit to a workout routine. I needed something I could live with and was maintainable long term. I didn’t want the “quickest” option per se, but the one that would help it stay off. He built a workout plan for me, based on my experience in the gym, and my nutrition knowledge.Since we’ve started I’ve lost 20lbs, I am healthier, I am stronger, I am more confident with my food choices no matter what the day brings or where I’m going. He is quick to make adjustments to both my nutrition and/or workout plans as needed or requested. Have you ever felt like you were in good shape, but you had a layer of fat all over youd like to get rid of? Thats where I was when I sought help from Michael and Diet Doc. I didnt really need to lose much weight, but I wanted to look more toned. I had put my time in the gym and was in relatively good shape. I have a background in nutrition, so I knew what to eat. Michael taught me how to eat to lose the fat. He had me eating every couple hours so I never really got hungry. If I did feel hungry, I would just get in touch with Michael and he would adjust my diet so I wouldnt be hungry. The diet is very flexible and Michael has a lot of knowledge to make it work for anyone. I would recommend him to anyone that wanted to lose a little or a lot of weight.Katie

When I first met Michael I had assumed he was a traditional personal trainer. He came highly recommended from a friend, so I said hey lets try it out. I was prepared to work out and lose some weight, and be held accountable.What I wasnt prepared for was the level of personalization he put into each workout for me. I also wasnt prepared for the fact that he truly cared about my well being physically and emotionally during this process. He was available by phone or email at any time, and was positive and encouraging. He pushed me along enthusiastically and made me actually WANT to return! I have never been treated so kindly, and with such consideration in any gym experience. Michael is knowledgeable, supportive and hilarious, so it made the work outs enjoyable and productive! I was ROCK BOTTOM! I had tried every diet out there and had even worked with several other personal trainers and nutritionists. I was tickling 200 pounds and my self confidence was next to zero.And then I met Michael! Hes amazing and I love that he specializes in both nutrition and exercise. Im able to eat the things I like (normal foods), still enjoy dinners out with my family and still keep the weight off. Now, I am down almost 50 pounds, I feel great and have kept the weight off! At 53 (2002) I was urged by a friend meet his personal trainer who he just couldnt say enough about. My first session with Michael took place shortly thereafter. I immediately experienced Michaels total involvement and commitment to MY fitness and nutritional improvement. He took baselines, discussed goals and we worked out a plan. Under his guideance over then next 14+ years (and many innovative plans) Ive reached and surpassed many of my goals. But most importantly, hes kept me on track with an overall healthy lifestyle and consistent level of fitness. As he maintains and improves his competence through on going training, he passes his knowledge on to his clients in the form of knowledgeable suggestions as well as creative and everchanging workout programs tuned to their specific needs. Ive seen many gym trainers... not the same as a real personal trainer, like Michael. At 68, Im looking forward to another decade with Michael, my personal trainer!!

I have known Michael Wilkie for a long time and have trained with him for the past 2 and 1/2 years. I have tried doing workouts and diet plans on my own, along with other diet programs and training programs that have failed me. Three years ago, I was feeling the effects of my failures; health wise and did not want to take any medicines. I was encouraged by my husband to contact Michael and he made the call for me, knowing that I put everyone and thing ahead of myself. Michael reached out to me right away letting me know that my husband made the call and asked me if I was ready to take the next step. We meet that afternoon and I have been losing weight ever since. My health has been restored and with the Diet Doc Mental Edge Program, I have learned a lot about myself and my eating issues. I still struggle every day with my weight as most people do but Michael keeps me on track with photos, measurements, and tracking. When you hire a coach/trainer to prepare you for a physique competition, it is tremendously important that you hire someone that is knowledgeable, ethical, carries the appropriate certifications, communicates effectively and efficiently, follows up consistently, is supportive and trustworthy, and treats you as an individual. Thats why I trust my physique, my health and my overall well-being to Michael Wilkie. The physical, mental and emotional challenges of prepping for a show can be daunting.When I discovered Michael nearly 3 years ago, I had been weight battle for the lionss share of my life, fluctuating from 1 extreme to the other (from overweight teenager to battling an eating disorder in my early 20s.) I was passionate about fitness and nutrition but struggled aimlessly to find a healthy balance.I began working with him as a General Population client, but a year into working with him, I decided to take a leap of faith and enter the world of physique competitions. I trusted Michael, knew that he had a phenomenal reputation in the industry and didnt give a thought to hiring anyone else to prep me for my show. Needless to say, Michael was there for me every step of the way: taking calls, emails and texts at all hours, and providing expert guidance and support that not only kept me sane throughout the process but also resulted in an impressive debut in the Novice Bikini Division in my first show.In the off-season following my first show, I added quite a bit of muscle to my already muscular physique, and when I decided to compete again in the Spring of 2015, we agreed that it would be best for me to make a move to the Figure division. I didnt have enough time to prep for a Novice Figure show, so we decided to give Open Figure a shot.I was very anxious, as I knew that this was a more competitive division, and I wasnt sure that I was ready. Again, Michael was there for me every step of the way! I am my own worst critic, but on the day of the show, I was thrilled by my physique. The judges and other competitors also took notice. Although, the outcome was not what we were hoping for, Michael could not have been more encouraging and supportive when I walked off that stage! I am now 4 months into my off-season, continuing to work with Michael, and he continues to provide me with the same level of support and service that he did throughout my prep.Hes excellent at educating competitors on the process, explaining why he is making the changes that he is making to your diet or workout, and ensuring that you understand the science and reasoning behind it. Michael is adamant about listening to and addressing his clients concerns. He is a consummate professional, but nevertheless, he stresses the importance of making the prep process fun and enjoyable. Michael has not only had a tremendous positive impact on my life but also can be credited with helping to get my husband Ryan in shape and healthy!
