Tom replaced the rim joist + sill plate underneath the doors of my house. He was quick to respond to my calls/texts, and did an excellent job detailing out the work required. He didnt cut corners and we are very satisfied with the work that he did.
Tom was great! He was early for the appointment to talk to me about replacing my roof. Everything was explained to me and he gave me an idea of what the project would cost. He sent me a contract that was complete and understandable. The cost that he quoted was for the roof and he threw in the two gutters for free. His crew showed up early and worked straight through finishing the job in one day. They were also careful to clean everything up in the yard. Tom stopped by at the end of the day to make sure everything was done properly and to see if I had any questions. The project was completed on time. I would definitely use Gizmo Home/Craft again.
Tom and his team replaced nearly all of our windows, fixed the flashing on our roof, replaced cracked cedar siding, installed new gutters and all at a very reasonable price. They were professional, efficient and the quality of their work was exceptional. Tom took great care to make sure every project was completed properly. We were very pleased with their work and wouldnt hesitate to hire Gizmo Home Craft again.
Tom showed up on time for our scheduled meeting. We talked about the work I want it done for our front porch extension. He knew what he was talking about but when I asked him if he can give us 0% financing since it was a big job, he hesitantly said yes. So we left it at that and he told me he would email me an outline of the project in the coming days. Right after the meeting I emailed him if he can just add a roof on our current porch and also replacing our door to make the job smaller and see if we can afford it. I also left him a message for an update but he never called me back nor replied. He might been busy at that time but a simple message would have been appreciated that he is no longer interested, then I can understand. I thought highly of him because of the reviews given about his work but I just did not like how he ignored me after and I just wanted to share my experience.
Gizmos Home Craft did a large outside home remodeling project for us. It included siding, windows, and roof. Tom (the owner) created the proposal which included an estimate and pictures of before and after. We worked together to make changes and move things around. Tom was very patient throughout the entire process. Once all the siding, windows, and roof colors and materials were agreed upon, Tom was very diligent in keeping us updated on the status and progress. The project began on time and was completed on time. The siding, windows, and roof look amazing together! Everything was cleaned up and taken care of! So, our project was completed on time, within budget and to our complete satisfaction! We get many compliments on the completed product and would use Gizmos again for our next project!
Tom of Gizmo Home Craft remodeled 2 bathrooms and my kitchen with new cabinets and counters in 2013. Also I had the house painted, new floors and new light fixtures installed. I so loved the work done in true craftsman style, I called Tom to do replace my driveway as well as a do a few other projects in 2014. I was again very pleased with the work, but Tom felt that the driveway did not live up to his standards. I thought it did and a number of my neighbors complemented on how nice it looked. True to his high standard Tom replaced the driveway at no cost to me. This demonstrates Toms dedication to his customers and to his personal integrity. I highly recommend Gizmo Home Craft without a moments hesitation. Tom is a true Old World Craftsman and you will be very pleased with his work.
We originally hired Tom to fix someone elses repairs: smooth out the bumpy drywall, fix cracks and patch a few holes left behind. The work was done quickly, quietly -- and very clean! Normally, I know I have to take a day off to clean up after the crew, but not here!We were so impressed with the work that we hired Toms crew to take care of big jobs, like re-roofing and replacing windows, and small jobs, like installing a light fixture. We look forward to working with him!
We met with 5 contractors before deciding to go with Tom at Gizmo Home Craft to finish our basement. This was a fairly complex job as we only have a half basement with the other half being a crawlspace and some of the things we wanted in the basement. Tom was able to come up with a plan that included a bathroom with shower, bar, and wine cellar along with a great family room that everyone can enjoy. Tom and his team were always on time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and excellent communicators about the next phases of the project. The project was completed within the timeframe given and within the budget quoted. We could not be more happy with the quality of work and will certainly continue to use Tom for our future home repair and improvement needs.
We hired Gizmo Home Improvement to reside our house after the high windstorm of July 1, 2012 damaged our old aluminum siding. Because the insurance company insisted initially on reimbursing only replacement of the aluminum, we had to ask Gizmo for several different estimates (with and without aluminum or vinyl siding on part or all of the house, painting, etc.) Gizmos owner, Tom Debski, was very responsible, reasonable, and responsive throughout the process which took about 2 months before the insurance company agreed to settle based on completely replacing all the aluminum siding on the house with high grade vinyl siding. Immediately upon receiving our go-ahead, his crew arrived and completed the work promptly, doing a very professional job in all. We are very proud of the new look of our house and appreciate Gizmos high work ethic and would recommend him to anyone needing his home improvement services.
We hired Gizmo Home Craft to install Anderson windows, remodel a bathroom and paint the exterior of our house. All of Toms work is top notch. He uses high quality workers and materials. Tom suggested Azek to trim around the windows and we are so very happy with the finished product. Tom will not try to nickle and dime his clients. He is very fair and resonable priced. I look forward to having Gizmo work on our house in the future.
We initially hired Gizmo to update our bathroom based on a recommendation from our son-in-law, who had both his basement and kitchen remodeled by Gizmo. They were dependable, knowledgeable and professional. We felt comfortable leaving the workers alone while we were not home. After each workday they cleaned up all of their mess. The bathroom turned out gorgeous - better than we could have imagined. Tom Debski brought additional and helpful ideas to the project which complimented our design ideas. My husband is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to remodeling and he was extremely satisified with the whole process. After the bathroom was completed we hired them again to repair our roof. It is a large flat top roof and they replaced it and installed new insulation as well. Again they did an exceptional job.We highly recommend Gizmo for your home repair needs.
Called them up for estimate for hail damage. The guy wouldnt even show up without me agreeing to sign up a contract to do negotiations with the insurance company on my behalf. I said no and that was the end of the conversation. Beware of them. Typical storm chaser!
Tom & Crew installed a completely new roof (deck + GAF shingles), improved roof ventilation, two Velux solar-powered skylights and new seamless gutters with leaf-guard protection. The crew were diligent workers and very professional. They did a great job cleaning up every night and were very careful to avoid damage to our shrubs, plants and lawn. Tom was here often to check on the progress, answer any questions and make sure we were fully satisfied. We highly recommend Gizmo HomeCraft.
We had been searching for quite awhile for new siding. I had many quotes but was not given a very detailed description as to what work would exactly be done. I finally used a friends Angies List account to look at the ratings of each company rather than just go by the flyers and the list of references each company gave.At the top of the ratings list was Gizmo Home Craft. Not only did he go over the types of siding that he provided but gave a recommendation as to which he felt best for our home... and why. We chose the James Hardy cement siding. It was clear from the start of the work that the Gizmo crew knew what they were doing and had pride in their work. They kept the work area and driveway clean and neat each day. We had put up some outdoor speakers which The Gizmo crew needed to take down to do their work. Not only did they reinstall the speakers, but they ran the cabling behind the siding... which looked far better than any effort my husband and I had made in the original installation!! This is just an example of their attention to detail. In addition to siding, we needed a new skylight... which another vendor had decided not to change out when we purchased a new roof. (Made his quote lower) Big mistake. Again, Tom gave me the straight scoop on how a new skylight by Velux could solve the mold problem that was taking place on the inside of the house around the sky light. Toms team removed the old and in doing so was able to take all the bad stuff out and install a beautiful new Velux sky light that has worked fantastic. I didnt even need to paint the inside of the home!! (I definitely thought I would need to!)I had all this work done last fall. Both the James Hardy siding and the Velux skylight made it through the winter without any problem... except for what the spring birds have left!!! (This has washed off easily!) We are so happy with Gizmo Home Craft, I have already called them back to complete a few more projects this spring.I will trust future projects to Gizmo Home Craft because they educate me on the right products, they offer ideas which I may not have thought of, and I know the job will be done with high standards and the work is quality.I encourage everyone to ask for a quote from Gizmo Home Craft
Our home was built in 1978 and we needed some basic replacements. We had three aluminum sliding glass doors that were just old, did not slide very well, and had problems with condensation sweating off of the aluminum. Tom (the owner of Gizmos) made some suggestions and showed us the different Pella doors we could get to replace the sliders. We were not sure and he was very patient as we investigated every possible door that was made. We finally chose the Pella Pro Line. This is the lower end of Pella and we were a little concerned that we had not gone to the higher end. Tom and his crew came in and replaced all three doors in one day. When they removed the old doors, they found some water had creeped in behind the siding and rotted some of the wood around the openings. They replaced this and cleaned up any other problems they faced. We were particularly pleased with this as other contractors we have hired either ignored it or missed it. When they were done, we were very pleased. Their work was excellent and the inside and outside both look great. We also liked the Pella doors. They have a good feel and keep out drafts much than the old doors.
