What an awesome morning up in the sky. Super smooth ride with great views. It’s an early start to the day but totally worth it. Shane took us up and there were 12 people plus him in the basket. It’s definitely worth doing if you haven’t before. So peaceful and quiet up there!

Stayed at the Candlelight Inn in Napa and booked with Napa Valley Balloons was an awesome way to spend my 30th birthday. Chad. our pilot, provided clear and concise instructions through text and was punctual in picking both my wife and me up first thing in the morning. We were able to witness the balloon being filled with cold air while on its side and hot air to bring it up right which was a sight itself. Greeted by co-pilot Bob, we had an amazing flight and was told this was not an ordinary flight path due to wind conditions that day. We soared well above other balloons in the area and witnessed spectacular views as the sun began to rise and greet us. It was a wonderful experience and I fully intend to go again! Thank you again to Chad and Bob for providing an awe-inspiring flight and memory we wont soon forget!

Aside from the most breathtaking views over Napa and a sunrise to die for… Napa valley balloons was a great experience over all. From the first call I made to our last goodbye…Friendly and fun employees who do what they love and it shows. Aside from that they had reasonable prices and clear breakdown of what is included.Small notes:(I’m sure this is with every balloon company) you are not allowed to bring any bags/backpack with you no mater how small. Make sure your phone, wallet and keys fit in your pockets. Cameras are allowed but not the camera bags.It’s a cozy ride and you will be huddled close to your balloon mates. Our balloon held 16 passengers and one Balloonest (made up word-no idea the correct lane.. flight instructor ehh any way) The basket was broken up in a five section. 4 passenger pockets with 4 in each section.Flights booked: all dependent on weather conditions!!!! Very important!!! I took my daughter and we took off with no problem however there is no guarantee until you’re in the air. If you’re planning a trip from out of town or out of state be mindful of this and call to ask questions for more information.I took my 11 year old. She was the only person under the age of 20. If you’re bringing a child call to make sure they need to height requirements before booking. Bring ear plugs it can get very loud.I would absolutely do this again some day and chances are I’m booking again with this company!!

Had a great time with Napa ballons. Got there at 5:15 am as instructed, waited about 20 mins. in the golf course clubhouse before loading into our vans. There are bathrooms and coffee available while you wait. Once at the ballon site which was about a 5-10 min. drive, you load according to your ballon name. Up, up, and away about an hour flight and your waiting to find a landing spot. We landed in a residential park, the van was there to meet us and back to the golf course. All in all nice time.

Bob was an incredible pilot, witty funny, and professional.He baked us homemade apple crisps which were delicious. We had an extended ride at no additional cost. We landed in the pond as well as soaring heights of 1400 feet. It is an experience I will never forget.

This was the highlight of our trip to Napa. The crew and team of pilots were fantastic. What a fascinating experience. Cant say enough about how lovely and wonderful this was. Dont hesitate. Book your balloon trip now.

We had SOO much fun! Shane was our pilot and it was the best ride we could have asked for. We would definitely do it again. Our basket was so close to a river that we touched it and flew in between the wild life, and to top it all off we landed right on the trailer! We win. This was an incredible experience. The staff and crew were all amazing. The pilot, Bob, was very experienced, and I felt completely comfortable. They really do a great job at providing a great experience from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone! Not only do you get amazing views early before the rest of Napa Valley is up, but you have a yummy breakfast filled with mimosas before the winery opens as well!

In May of 2016 my wife, & I took a vacation to Central California an area Im over all very familiar with. The original intent was to visit family, & check out some new sites, & do a few new things. The former never panned out as planned, but we still made the best of it & had a good time. Always wanting to ride a Hot Air Balloon, we searched around the Central California region for a Balloon operator with a good safety record, & good reputation, & found Napa Valley Balloons Incorporated, & made a reservation. On our scheduled day of balloon ride upon arrival we had a meet, & greet, & briefing. At the briefing we were told we wouldnt be able to fly in the normal area above the Napa Valley Wine Country, & was decided we would go near Winters instead. After we all hopped into 2 vans, headed on a 50 minute trip to Winters. As we got there they were in the process of inflating 4 or so large balloons. It was only maybe 15 minutes, & we were aloft. We had about a dozen of us in the basket, & went up to 1,400 feet, at which we floated along on a hour or so ride landing just east of the Nut Tree Airport just North of Travis AFB. Not always the case, but we had a good slight bounce landing, then climbed, & crawled out of the basket, & headed to vans, & back to where we started at their welcome center in Napa. When everyone gathered we got our balloon ride certificate, had brunch, & a ride, all of which was part of the rate. From beginning to end based on our observation it was well organized, well ran, the astute attention to detail & safety was very well done. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it, & would do it again if the opportunity arises. As the Terminator says Well Be Back...

Memorable highlight of our girls trip to Napa Valley! Peaceful experience, felt safe. Capable drivers, pilot, and crew. So happy we went for it!

We never got any communication regarding our pick up time from their office or even from the driver. Email stated 5:30 am pickup time and we were waiting in our hotel lobby since 5:20. We kept trying to reach them but their office opens at 9. Finally we were picked up at 6. The driver said someone must have messed up.They dont do any temperature checks before getting in their pickup bus. They dont even follow social distancing since they picked up 8 people in a minibus. One girl didnt wear a mask the whole time and they didnt say anything. Flight was okay, but the overall experience was blah. Not worth $600.

Our first experience ballooning could not have been better. I am not a fan of heights, but I always felt safe and the views were unparalleled! Our pilot Chad was very professional and made sure all of us had a great time. The sparkling Wine Toast and the history behind it was a nice touch. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone wanting to experience the valley in a unique way.

Staff is professional, friendly and amazing! The flight was beautiful and breathtaking. I have a real fear of heights....this had ZERO effect on that. The staff and pilot make safety a priority and its evident in how safe everyone felt the entire trip!! The food was delicious. And it was worth every penny!

Need to arrive Domaine Chandon by 530 AM for check-in and briefing. where they serve refreshment before the flight.You then board a mini van and it takes you to the golf driving range next door and board the balloon.Ride is between 45mins to an hour depejding on wind and where they land. The pilot gave alot of explanation on how they fly based on different layer of atmospher and wind ...They do not allows u to carry and bags or purse on flight, but cameras are allowed. Do note that it is hot under the balloon with all the flame going on.After we land. the van pick us up and send us back to the Domaine chandon for breakfast .. and payments ..the also took some pictures on flight with a little gopro attached!Great fun and experience !

Great experience and a bucket list must have. The crew was extremely professional and coordinated. For a quick pro tip, it gets pretty warm during the flight vs being on the ground so jackets and thick sweaters are not necessary. From take off to the landing, every moment in the air was smooth, calm, and relaxing offering opportunities to take great photos or take in the views.

I visited Napa Valley for the first time on April 10th, 2018, and stayed for 3 days. I read about how great Napa Valley Balloons, Inc. was so I knew I had to make a reservation and I am so glad that I did! They did not disappoint! Our meeting time was 6am at Domaine Chandon, where there was coffee and pastries waiting for us. Bob, our pilot was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He made us all feel very comfortable and safe, as did the rest of the team and staff. Our ride in the air was about an hour long, the perfect amount of time! The views are gorgeous! You are able to watch the sun rise and Bob showed us some landmarks from up in the air. Lots of beautiful greenery and you can take your phone up with you to snap some pictures and take video if you like. Whoever flies you up also takes a group picture of everyone while in the air. There were about 8 of us who went up together and that was the perfect amount of people so that it did not at all feel cramped or overly crowded. Once we landed, we all went back to Domaine Chandon for a tasty buffet breakfast and mimosas. They send you pictures from the flight before you leave, so you have them the same day to share with family and friends. Many thanks to Shannon for helping me schedule and book this unforgettable experience! I look forward to returning for another ride!

Great flight with our pilot Bob! He was so friendly and energetic. The flight was so fun and he took us over the creek. So glad we were able to go even with COVID and the Napa fires. We had a great time and recommend flying with Bob!

We had a great flight with Chris today. He made us all feel very safe as he guided our balloon over the Napa Valley as well as sharing his knowledge of the wine business. I highly recommend flying with Chris! This was a birthday gift from my wife and we are so looking forward to making it a yearly outing!

This was an awesome experience! Captain Bob was a great pilot who took us on an incredible ride that lasted over an hour and a half. We got up as high as 8,900 feet and saw a clear view of San Francisco. Captain Bob went on and on about how he rarely goes up that high.I would highly recommend. They’ve sectioned off the basket into 4 quadrants plus a section for Captain Bob that are separated by a clear vinyl sheet for COVID safety. Our basket was only 3/4 full. Great value as well. The sunrise was incredible!

Captain Bob and the staff were amazing. Worth the money!! They have Covid precautions in place so no need to worry. They are very professional but also very very fun! Highly recommend!!

Such a wonderful experience! Perfect from beginning to end. They picked us up, brought us to a beautiful vineyard for coffee and snacks, then off we went to board our balloons. The entire balloon ride was a dream. Breathtaking views the entire time and smooth take off and landing. Im afraid of heights but, the views were just so gorgeous and the ride so smooth, I wasnt even bothered at all. The trip ended with a lovely brunch and socializing with the group before being brought home by one of the many incredibly friendly staff. Highly recommend this unique experience!

I would give Bob our pilot 5 stars as he did a great job! The process began with us being notified at pickup that we are not able to go around the Napa Valley area. That was the whole purpose for us to celebrate our 1 year anniversary specially since we had our first date in Napa. Its pretty difficult to tell your wife sorry we are not going on a hot air balloon ride even though that would have been best. To get a full refund! I expected a discount for this inconvenience but none was offered. We had to drive 45 min to Winters for the secondary launch site. The ride lasted about an hour and we were driven back to Napa to our pickup location. Thats when the pilot told all of that we will not be getting champagne or breakfast due to covid19. How disappointing to spend over $400 for just 1 hour. Now I have to find a restaurant to take my wife for breakfast. I called Napa Valley Balloons to inform them of my complete and utter disappointment and I was not offered anything other than a apology, and that they will let the pilots know to inform the customers in advance. The other customers were also under the same impression and expected breakfast and champagne. Just seems unfair to not be told upfront or I would have cancelled our reservations.

The team was very friendly and kind. Due to covid 19 there was precautions taking place and felt safe arriving Rick my pick up driver was very cool and great personality👌🏼. Bob my pilot was very very cool made my first experience on a hot air balloon really fun. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed every but of it and the view was just awesome.

Riding with Napa Valley Hot Air Balloons was extremely professional from start to finish and gave a feeling of luxury.The pilots and driver were super friendly and gracious and the view was amazing. Not only do you get to experience one of the most amazing views of your life afterwards they take back to the pickup point for champagne and breakfast.I cant wait to go again.

Big bad Chad made our balloon flight a very memorable experience. Unfortunately we weren’t able to fly in Napa due to foggy weather... but he let us know he could still take us on a balloon in a town i believe called winters and hour away..My best friend and i decided to still go and oh my god are we do thankful for this experience. He really connects with his passengers and is very informative in regards to other things we could do around the area. During the balloon experience he was funny, made us laugh and also pointed out interesting things during the experience. Overall chad was an outstanding pilot and we would do this all over again only if he was our pilot. Thanks chad!

We had a very wonderful flight with Chad. He made the entire group feel welcomed and was really accommodating with all of the Covid-19 procedures and rules. Being a local, he knew all the in’s and out’s of the area so he also gave us some recommendations. A few of the passengers were really anxious but Chad was able to calm them down explaining exactly what was going on throughout the flight.Looking forward to bringing more family/friends to Napa Valley Balloons and I really hope that Chad is our pilot again.

Great weather for a balloon ride. We had Chad he was entertaining. I would suggest they put a Go Pro on BOTH sides of the basket so ALL can get good pictures taken. Felt a little rushed during the Champagne Brunch.

First of all, no meet and greet snacks. Plus we had a very hard and terrible landing at a water treatment plant, first hitting a hill, and then a concrete water tower.I will say however, the staff was really great.

If you can get Chad as your pilot then you will definitely have the best Napa Hot air balloon ride experience!!The whole team was amazing and it was definitely one for the books, They went above and beyond our expectations.

This experience was incredible! The view was unbeatable and everyone in the company was friendly and welcoming. Our driver Dan gave us a great tour during our trip to and from the site. An amazing experience! Bob flew our balloon and literally left all of the other balloons flying the same day in the dust, going twice the distance. Then he landed the balloon so smoothly, no bumps, and on a sidewalk! My only regret is that if I ever go ballooning again it will not be as perfect a flight. Well done!

It was definitely a safe ride. However, if youre looking for a luxury experience, this is not. The breakfast is terrible, filled with greasy food. Also, they could at least provide a bottle of water after the ride.

We had a confirmed booking, showed up at 5:30 AM, registration could not find our reservation. I showed our confirmation and we were told they don’t know why we were not on the list but they could not get us on the flights because they were full. No accommodation. How do you not try to find a way to accommodate 2 people with a confirmed reservation?! We had tried going 2 years ago worth same company and they canceled them due to weather. My wife was really looking forward to this and it was a beautiful morning to go. We are hugely disappointed.

We had a great experience! The driver was on time to pick us up at our hotel that morning. Although we were not able to fly over Napa due to the fog that morning, they cleared explained our options and wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied but above all, safe. We had to drive 45 minutes to Winters (the area we could fly from) and the drivers were like tour guides on the way there. Very knowledgeable about the area and explained the history and fun facts about the region. Bob was our captain and he did a fantastics job! I am terrified of heights but this was on my bucket list and it was a much smoother ride than we expected. No bumps at all, we climbed to 4,000 feet all while listening to Bob explain the views and different crops and fields below. You could tell be was very experienced, trustworthy, and had a great sense of humor. This is his passion! The brunch and unlimited mimosas afterward topped off the experience!

The ballon ride was part of a package from our B&B. The pick up was prompt and given the weather they drove us to Winter’s CA and the balloon was ready to go when we got there. The staff was very helpful and well informed our pilot Bob was amazing! Had many hours of flight experience and shared his knowledge of ballooning with us during our outing. We got to experience a stunning “splash and go” where he lowered the balloon to touch the water on a lake allowing for great pictures of the balloon’s reflection on the water. We also practiced what to do for the landing prior to it’s taking place. This was particularly helpful for my husband and I since it was our first flight. The landing was fun, a bit of action to culminate an otherwise smooth trip. I will most definitely be riding again.

Excellent and seamless registration, experience and return to breakfast. Bob was an excellent pilot and the weather was perfect. The driving and payment crew was also awesome!

We had booked a tour with them and got rained out, but when we tried to get our money back we got the run around. They gave us our credit but it was going to take more than 15 days for our money to be reimbursed to our account. They took it in 1 minute but it takes more than 15 days to get reimbursed. They are collecting the interest on my money. I can see 7-10 days maybe but more than 15 is complete lack of respect.

It was early morning, but the entire team at Napa Valley Balloons was warm and welcoming. Informative briefing along with juice, coffee and pastries. Russ was our experienced pilot, and we had a perfect flight and landing. Tasty brunch with sparkling wine at Domaine Chandon after the flight. Staff members at the brunch welcomed our chatting with them. Overall a super experience and would highly recommend.

Extremely unprofessional. Cancelled our balloon ride after we reached. It seemed they had decided early on that morning around 4.00am that they are going to cancel but failed to notify customers. Instead they made us wait until everyone was on the ground. They could have very easily communicated sooner via call or text but chose not to do so. They blamed the cancellation on the weather, not sure if that was the real reason. Things didn’t look normal and they just looked under prepared. No one offered to reschedule or try to accommodate us at a different time. A complete waste of our time. Management did say that they will issue a refund although not on the same day. Overall pretty indecent people not caring about customer’s time and did not show any empathy. Thx for checking my review. Also check out the review of the guy who suffered a crash landing.

We had a wonderful time. Granted, it was too cold for my taste but I knew that going in and wrapped up as best as possible. Napa Valley Balloons were very accommodating. Although we were on time I heard the representative on the phone with another party making sure theyd be able to make it. Furthermore, we got the feeling that safety was first and foremost. It was a foggy day and the balloon pilot was reluctant to go out in those conditions. The fog burned off and we had a splendid trip.

Awful business and horrible staff. Cancelled the balloon ride at the last moment without any proper explanation blaming weather claiming too dangerous. Not sure what was the actual reason for cancellation. Overall it looked like they were unprepared for the rides. They were not open to reschedule or accommodate us in a different slot. They didnt make any attempts to notify customers before everyone was at the location. Staff seemed to have a total dis regard for customers time. I sincerely believe they could have notified us sooner before everyone made it on location.

BEWARE. My husband and I recently had the hot air balloon experience with Napa Valley Balloons to celebrate his 50th birthday and were very disappointed in the overall experience and service. Like many other reviews, the issue was the customer service or lack of it. We signed up for a balloon ride followed by champagne breakfast. When we arrived we were driven 30 minutes to a banquet hall room of a winery with cheap refreshments (boxed, stale pastries) and briefed on the experience. The briefing focused on no bags on board and provided no context to the overall experience. We then were put in buses and driven-another 30 minutes before being herded to balloons with little direction. It was not explained until arrival you would have to climb into the 3 foot basket. We managed but several older people struggled. Once in the air the ‘pilot’ refused to answer questions. Was rude and dismissive with guests when they asked and very rarely responded on the radio to the other balloons. We ran out of fuel and landed in a field from a scene in Deliverance. We had to climb out of three foot balloon basket in the brush on uneven ground. Very dangerous. The pilot focused on the ballon while 10 of us stood around confused and worried. The crew finally collected us 25 minutes later with no communication. We returned to the banquet hall to be served a cheap hotel style breakfast in warming drawers but the best part was being rushed before the other balloons guests got back because there wasn’t enough food. I have never written a review before but this experience and service was so terrible. Research other companies and ask lots of upfront questions. Would not recommend this company.

We had our booking on July 21. Everything was nice and good until the last few minutes on our ride - the landing part. We sort of crash landed. We hit the inclined hill at an angle and reasonable speed since the balloon caught some unexpected wind abruptly. Thankfully, the balloon was caught in one of the tree and we came to a halt [Thank God]. Things could have been worse since the bottom of our basket hit few rocks, went through some trees. Stuff like this happens, I do not blame the pilot or anybody. Me and my girlfriend are left with few bruises - on arms, back, face. The reason for 2 star review is the way things were handled post our horrible landing experience. We were never asked if we needed first aid, apologized, had someone check on us etc. Their staff acted as if nothing terrible had happened [Although 1 of their crew members told me this is the worst landing he has ever seen]. Moreover, some of their staff had the audacity to joke about the incident [They have all the right to do so, but, in my opinion, at least not when you never asked if we were ok or offered us some help]. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 only because the companys upper management did talk to me in a humble manner as well as apologized and offered me a full refund [which I politely declined]. That happened only after I shot them an email after I reached home and told them about my experience though. Also, the breakfast is overrated. Nothing special.

Best outing we have experienced in a long time! Everything was top rate, the people, the flight, the views, the unlimited post-flight champagne 🥂 at Domaine Chandon......would recommend this to anyone looking for a top notch adventure and unforgettable moments.

Had booked a balloon trip for 13th October 2018. We got picked up from our hotel by a very congenial guy from Napa balloons and got taken to their base where we served some coffee before being taken to the launch site.The morning was beautiful even thou the sun had yet to rise.There we watched the amazing site of the balloons being filled before clambering into the basket.The trip was wonderful. To watch the sun come up as we gently drifted along was incredibly memorable.It wasn’t that cold and the warmth from the burners certainly took the edge of any coolness. The pilot took plenty of photos of us all, there were 16 people in the ballon plus pilot.The silence as we glided was quite incredible especially looking out across the beautiful Californian scenery and vineyards.The landing was gentle and we were all whisked back to base for a great champagne breakfast.Afterwards we were taken back to our hotel.Apart from the balloon trip which was incredibly memorable what we liked was the company’s attention to safety, the way they looked after us and that nothing seemed too much trouble.Thank you Napa Valley Balloons for a wonderful experience.

Mixed feelings about our Mon, June 27th event. The water was turned off at the designated building meeting spot at Domaine Chandon so there wasnt any coffee available before leaving on the van ride. There were 3 pilots and our large group was split between them. The woman who drove our van to the airfield was very pleasant and chatty about local details.The mechanics of filling the balloon with air using fans, heating it to make it rise, and then loading the basket and taking off was interesting to watch. It was lovely weather with some low clouds making for enjoyable scenery. But our flight time was only 40 min. We had been told it would be an hour when we reserved. We landed in a field without tipping over (which was nice) and then were back in the van returning to Domaine Chandon and we could see many other balloons still drifting in the wind while we were driving. Given the start times are the same for all the companies, it appears other companies take longer flights.The water was still not restored when we got back to the winery so the champagne breakfast was cancelled. They had gotten coffee from a vendor in town and pastries were still there and mimosas available. Our group was the ONLY one there for the 40 min that my husband and I stayed until we left at 8am (arrived at 5:15am as instructed). The other 2 pilots were still flying their passengers, I guess. We had been told to expect the event to end around 10-10:30am so I arranged for late checkout and we stayed in town the night before due to the early arrival time. We were checked out by 9am instead of the anticipated noontime.The credit for lack of breakfast was $20pp; I dont know where in Yountville you can get breakfast for 2 for $40. Not sure this was worth $460 offhand ($500 with breakfast). It was our first hot air balloon ride; may try the New Mexico festival next year and see if its a better experience. Skydiving in Monterey from 18,000 feet was a much better value!

Horrible staff and pathetic customer service. We were scheduled to start on 5/25 at 5.30am. Napa Valley Balloons cancelled our ballon ride apparently because of bad weather at 5.35am after everyone arrived on location. No other explanation except bad weather was provided saying it will be dangerous to go. The staff didnt made any attempt to call/text/email and notify customers ahead of the ride. I understand no one can control the weather but the decision to go or not go needs to be made early enough and communicated to customers so people wont drive in the middle of night to do a 5.30am ride. Last minute cancellations are not acceptable and you need to notify customers at least a couple hours before the balloon ride starts. No offer to reschedule was made and it seemed like the staff didnt care much for wasting everyones time. Stay away from Napa Valley Balloons.

Great balloon ride and amazing captain

I booked a private flight for 4 (excl. pilot) several months in advance to surprise and propose to my long time girlfriend. They were wonderful to work with and answered all my questions.They offer free shuttle service to the winery that you will meet at if you stay in Napa. If not, its a short 10-15 minute drive north and they have plenty of signs pointing you in the right direction.They offer pastries and coffee prior to the fight, then after the wavers are signed you get put into vans (1 van per balloon) and then its a short 3 minute ride to the launch site. We launched with about 5 balloons (we were the only private flight), but the team inflates the balloons very quickly.The actual flight was incredibly smooth and quiet. Very easy to carry on a conversion. Chris moved the balloon up and down towards the beginning to give us a nice view of the vineyards before going to a pretty high altitude. We took several pictures with a go pro that was outside the basket. Tell your pilot if you plan on proposing, so they can capture it!Once you set down they quickly take you back to the winery for breakfast and mimosas which was pretty nice! You get an emailed link to the pictures if you want them, and the opportunity to buy other memorables.I really want to stress how awesome the entire staff was. They were all so fun, happy, and accommodating. Our pilot, Chris, was super awesome and pointed out a lot of scenic information as well as history. I would highly recommend this company. If ever in the area I would absolutely jump at the chance to do it again.Pro-tips:- Read the whole website, it has tons of awesome information.- They dont allow ANY bags (including purses or camera bags) on the fight so think ahead. They do allow cameras, just not bags.- Under the burner gets HOT, there is a heat shield but if you have short/no hair, it might not be enough. Consider a cap/hat.- Wear layers! It gets pretty hot the higher you go and when the sun comes out, it adds to it.

Amazing experience! Started the morning off with some light refreshments including coffee and some delicious scones at the Domaine Chandon. Hopped in a van for a quick one minute ride to where to the balloons were being prepped for take-off. We were in the air in plenty of time to see a beautiful sunrise over the Napa Valley. We reached heights of 2400 feet and could see the San Francisco Bay! After the ride was over we were transported back to the Domaine Chandon for mimosas and a delicious breakfast. They let us explore the grounds for a while as well. Definitely recommend taking advantage of the shuttle that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel so you can drink more mimosas! Great experience!
