Aqil is an amazing instructor. He is knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about teaching others how to safely and confidently handle a hand gun. We had a private class and a couple of our friends we on the fence about the doing the Enhanced Handgun Carry Class because they were not comfortable around guns....well, we just set up our 2nd group class! I cant recommend Aqil and Citizens Safety Academy enough!

I hate to blemish a perfect record, although the circumstances require it.Today I spoke with a gentleman, I am assuming the owner based on how he spoke about the company, and wasn’t pleased with the interaction.My dad and I were looking into his services for our CCP, my dad new to town and me just upgrading my own, and we ran into unforeseen circumstances that didn’t allow for us to attend the course. With 2 a weeks notice we didn’t expect any trouble from Citizens Safety. Unfortunately, we we were met with disturbingly poor customer service. The websites verbiage is unintelligible in regards to the refund policy claiming that cancelations are acceptable with adequate notice then proclaiming a “no refunds” policy for all circumstances. Change of mind and change of circumstances are two different things and this company shouldn’t be praised for essentially stealing from potential clients regardless of capability.I do recommend doing business with anyone who performs in such a manner, but to each their own.Not impressed.

I was extremely nervous going into this course (Enhanced Handgun Permit Class), but Aqil broke everything down to give me the confidence I needed. I was engaged the entire day and will definitely be going back for more in depth classes. He was a great instructor and I can’t wait to improve my skills further. I didn’t do too badly on the range test either for not having touched a firearm in 13 years! The power of a great instructor.

I was so nervous going into the Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit course, mainly because I was very aware of my lack of knowledge and experience overall. But Aqil was an amazing instructor, literally guided us step by step through the entire process and gave us everything in great detail. I can honestly say I left there more satisfied than I could have imagined with the knowledge acquired. I will definitely be back for more courses and am most certainly recommending it to friends and family.

LOVED this class. My bf and I had no experience with guns but we walked away from this class feeling more educated and informed about the process of being a safe gun owner and user. This is just the beginning for our learning and plan to take many of the multiple other classes offered. Aqil is so knowledgeable and really knows how to present the information in a clear way so you walk away understanding everything. The class was 8 hours but Aqil presentation style makes the time fly by. Highly recommend this business for all your gun education!!!!

I learned so much from taking this class. I have never even shot a gun before but after taking this class my target shot was 98%. The instructor Aquila really cares about you knowing above and beyond just what you need to know to get a permit. I just finished a three day course at CitizensSafety Academy. Aqil and Tiffany are the best. I have taken many training classes with some of the best Firearms trainers in the industry over the years. This one one of the best classes that I have ever taken. I had several options closer to home but chose to drive 300 miles to train with Tiffany and Aqil- No regrets! This was an amazing, informative class. I had no idea of how much wrong info I had, by listening to friends about guns and gun safety. This is an excellent class for a beginner or someone that needs more knowledge and confidence in handling a weapon safely. The fact that it is an all womens class made me feel more at ease than I would have in a co-ed class. The class was a lot of fun. I learned in this class that the pistol Id purchased for myself, I didnt really like after handling it. Tiffany let me use hers and another instructor, Steve let me use his. A superb experience. Loved how Aqil stressed the importance of gun safety and did it in a way that was thorough, interesting, and funny at times. This class gave me a new perspective on guns. I traveled 3 hours for this class, I was very nervous and anxious. I expected to pull into a very large facility. Instead it is a very quaint store front in a nice neighborhood. I was greeted at the door with a welcoming smile and directed to come in. It was a very small class of about 7 including myself. I immediately felt less nervous and anxious. I was curious to see how they approached training for Concealed Carry. The classroom topics covered the basics of what you need and more - but believe me if you are looking into another class in the area that will get you your CC permit and that class is a shorter class (less than all-day) - YOU WILL BE SHORTING ONLY YOURSELF and your loved ones. Great instructors and content including legal aspects of protecting yourself and others with firearms. Looking forward to further and more advanced classes with this group!

Me and my wife really enjoyed the class. I came in with the notion that I would learn my way around a gun and some basic knowledge of laws and carry procedures but what we got was much more! I would recommend this class to everyone in middle Tennessee!!!

Very professional instructors and program. the curriculum was well laid out and all the hands on drills were done in a very easy gradient. Never was it intimidating or did I feel like an outsider. Every question I had was answered. The instructors were not headstrong, instead they cared and wanted us to get the information more than touting their skills. It was all about us and not about them. Full disclosure: I currently teach for Citizens Safety Academy. But before that, I started out as a student, and I have taken several classes with and from the lead instructor, Aqil Qadir. I would never have joined his teaching cadre if I thought CSA was anything less than awesome. Every time I attend or help teach a class with Aqil and the CSA cadre, I am amazed at the professionalism, the patience, and the unwavering commitment to safety. They are not a handgun permit paper mill. They do more than just push out students who barely pass the qualifications. Instead, they keep the class sizes small to ensure lots of individualized instruction. They not only give students important new information, but they also make sure students have a better idea of just how much more there is to learn (and that applies to beginners and experienced shooters alike). The other thing I like about CSA is they market to students of all different backgrounds, truly living by the mantra that self-defense is a universal right enjoyed by everyone. They focus solely on personal protection skills and mindset, without veering off into controversial politics. And they explain the context, the rationale, and the real-life application of every skill they teach. Bottom line: When youre learning how to safely and responsibly handle a deadly weapon (or learning ANY personal safety techniques, regardless of the tools involved), the last thing you want to do is settle for the cheapest or shortest or easiest class. CSA is about quality. Whether youre a lifelong gun enthusiast or youre trying to overcome a fear of guns, I strongly recommend their classes.

Retired military. I half expected this to be a rubber stamp operation, but reviews were good so I took a chance. I was impressed. Very knowledgeable instructor. Academics were well-presented. Good selection of follow-on classes for professional development. I will definitely be back!

He really really helped me and our entire class to gain so much knowledge. It was an 8 hour class that seemed like 2hours becAuse of the total engagement of everyone.
