We love our Black Dragon family!! My kids started a few months ago (ages 3 and 6) and they LOVE it!! They have all made each of our children feel so special and welcome since their first day. Black dragon martial arts is a wonderful program that allows the student to grow any many directions to become a truly well rounded physically, and mentally. Its helping my daughter gain confidence and perseverance. Not only does Black Dragon encompass the physical aspects of self defense, but also the mental, and spiritual aspects as well.  They have an excellent way of showing children what to learn about life and the dangers of the day to daylife as they grow and develop and understand.I highly recommend joining the team because they have a warm family welcoming experience class with Black Dragon martial arts whether you are interested in karate or martial arts. Every person that interacts with your child will be excited to see them, go out of their way to make them feel comfortable and my favorite part... They call your child by name. We love Black Dragon! My boys have enjoyed classes and learning. We have been so impressed with the staff and teachers. They handled the pandemic so well! During the shutdown the boys were able to do classes at home via Zoom. Mr. Nick and the staff continually improved their technology to make the classes better and better. When we were finally able to return to in person classes, my son said, “It just felt right to be there in the building.” My boys are so proud when they earn a new belt. Their self esteem has definitely improved this year.

My oldest has been attending the after school and summer programs for about a year and a half now and absolutely LOVES it. Her behavior has improved tremendously in just a short amount of time. She just recently earned her green belt and is constantly telling me that she wants to do the work to some day become a black belt!All the staff is great and their communication is top notch. The facility is clean and orderly, as well.I would definitely recommend Black Dragon Martial Arts to any one looking for an amazing program.

Black Dragon Martial Arts is awesome! They are super friendly and I love the fact that they keep their classes down to 12 kids. This allows the instructors to give more focus and attention to the kids. Also, they only allow 2 new kids per class to ensure that the new kids get extra attention. I will recommend Black Dragon to all my friends and family!

I enrolled my 6 year old in Black Dragon’s after school program at the beginning of the school year and am so happy that I did! He was so scared and shy his first day there, but you would never know that now. His confidence has soared, he is more respectful at home and at school and is physically stronger and much more active. The Instructors and staff at Black Dragon are all wonderful and so great with the kids. They treat them no less then family. I highly recommend Black Dragon Martial Arts!

My daughter started at black dragon martial arts almost a year ago. From the first moment of signing her up black dragon staff have been exceptional! They went above and beyond by wrapping her uniform (as I signed her up as part of her Christmas present last year) to working with my daughter on how shy she used to be..even through covid black dragon staff have been supporting their students at home and in studio whichever works best for their situation. The coaches are amazing, hands down they absolutely have their students best interest at heart! If you have been thinking about signing your kid(s) up you should definitely try out black dragon you will not be disappointed!

My son attends the after school program here as well as classes! And recently graduated from a white belt (so exciting) he loves showing me all that hes learned. And during the after school program, he almost always has stories of games theyve played or a craft theyve done. The teachers and staff are all wonderful! I cant say enough great things about Black Dragon. The instructors are very friendly and encouraging to the students. My son looks forward to the nights that he goes to Black Dragon. My 3 yo started ~ 4 weeks ago. At first I wasn’t sure if he would even participate but on the first day he jumped right in. He use to give up so easily if he didn’t know how to do something but since we started going to Black Dragon Martial Arts his confidence has grown. He absolutely loves going to class. If he could have his way we would sit outside all day everyday and wait for his class to start. I’m so glad we found Black Dragon and I’m so excited to watch as he grows.

The instructors are great and very patient and accommodating to the students. My son absolutely loves going! Hes always practicing at home and loves telling all his friends hes in karate lol.all around great place!

I can not say enough great things about this place! The instructors and afternoon staff are the best! My son was shy and very uncoordinated starting out and in less than a year he has completely transformed into a totally new kid. Black Dragon Martial Arts is the best decision I’ve made for my son. Jonathan did not want to do anything but play video games and eat ( which was my fault) we have been at Black Dragon Martial Arts since October of 2018 and I have seen a transformation in my sons physical appearance, his attitude has improved. Of course discipline and respect is taught here. The instructors are an amazing influence on my son. I absolutely love this place and man can he kick now. When he began he couldn’t hardly lift his legs. He has been taught so much. I recommend their facility because they are family to ya!!!!

Our two kids take evening classes here and love it. The instructors and staff are very welcoming, friendly and really great with all age groups. If you are not sure if this would be the right fit for your child try one of their trials they always seem to have going on. You wont regret it!

I feel like the cost is high enough and then you pay $50 extra each time they test for a new belt I had my kids at bushido school of karate and the only went for a summer program and no extra costs for belts also they tested when they were ready and here they test after they get 12 green stripes regardless if they are ready before which to get 12 stripes you have to attend about 3 months For more than one child attending these prices were definately not affordable to me that adding the 30 min drive twice a week because i didnt live intown

My daughter is in her second year attending during the after school program and to say we are pleased would be an understatement. The staff is attentive and strive to engage the children no matter what age of the child. The offerings of the child care is a plus due to travel/school schedules they are almost always available. Most importantly my child has FUN and looks forward to attending Black Dragon. Thank you all for all you do!

Enrolled my five year old in November and instantly he fell in love with it after the second class we are already had signed him up for an additional 12 weeks great people great value very professional sanitary throughout this COVID-19.

We love Black Dragon. My son was always hesitant about trying new things. The first few times we went the staff was wonderful about helping him to feel comfortable and let me sit inside the room during the class. Now he asks to go even on the nights he doesn’t have class.

The instructors here all helped my son out tremendously. I spoke openly with them about my sons medical issues and they welcomed him with open arms. They take the time to get to know EVERY SINGLE STUDENT (child and adult) and how to train each person correctly. I always recommend Black Dragon Martial Arts when someone is looking to enroll at a Martial Arts school.

We joined Black Dragon Martial Arts this past summer after seeing a Facebook promo. It couldnt of been a better choice. We love it here! Our 3 year old was nervous at first but Nick and Marty welcomed her so quick and made her feel comfortable. They are so great with working with kids of all ages and keep you updated on progress.

Two of my children are students here. My 12 year old daughter went from being shy and meek, to doing roundhouse kicks and breaking boards. She has really blossomed under the evening class instruction by Marty, Nick, and Andy, with coaching and encouragement by Merida. My 6 year old son went from temper tantrums to saying yes sir within four days of being enrolled in summer camp. He now goes to the after school program where he gets daily lessons and fun time with friends. The summer camp is expensive but worth every dollar. They don’t keep the kids cooped up in one place. They took field trips nearly every day to local attractions, parks, swimming, and hiking. My son really loves it here. Krystal and Kaylen are his 2 favorite teachers and they are just great. If you want a place where your kids will learn respect, discipline, and how to succeed, this is the place for you and them.

Our son has been going to Black Dragon for 2 years now. The instructors are great, provide a lot of one on one attention, when needed. It’s amazing to see the growth in our son since he started attending classes there. He’s more confident, structured, amazing manners and overall just a great kid. We have loved seeing the growth he has achieved from such an awesome taekwondo school.

We started our son in the summer program. It was on the older end of most of the children but I needed him active in the summer. The activties kept him busy and active. We are currently taking night time classes. We love this place!

I love how my son can develop and be himself but at the same time he is learning something unique that no one can take away, teachers and rest of the employees helps to put into practice every day with each of the students those important values that makes childhood very enjoyable. Fun time, unforgettable memories.

We moved to Murfreesboro 2 years ago when my daughter was only 5. We found Black Dragon when I was looking for after school program for my daughter. She loved it the first day she was there, she didnt even want to come home! Shes been there for 2 years now, she does both the after school program, and the summer camp! She was pretty shy when we first came here, and now her self confidence is sky high!

Highly recommend this place for after school care and scheduled lessons. Great instructors and the after care program is the highlight of my childs day.

We bought the trial package on a whim when it was on sale for black friday and then waited almost a year before even going in for the first time. We had no idea how much we were going to love it. My 5 year old used to have anxiety but now he says I know taekwondo in response to a lot of his fears. 😂 he used to refuse to sleep in his own room because he said bad guys could come in the window.. now he says if bad guys came in the window hed just ax kick them lol. So he has definitely gained confidence during his time here. We love black dragon!Edit to add: we stayed home for about a year due to covid but I want to praise the black dragon team for their efforts in keeping everyone safe during strange times. We did online classes for a short time and now weve recently returned and theyve added on a whole extra room for parents to watch their kids to help with social distancing. 👍🏻

This place is awesome! My son has been going for about 5 months and I have seen great improvement in his tae Kwon do skills and his attitude. The instructors are really good with him. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in martial arts.

My son has been going here for a few years for the afterscool and summer camp programs and he loves it. Team sports are not his thing so I was so happy to find a fit for him. I feel like Black Dragon is part of our family. They have helped my so delvelope confidence, goal setting, and discipline. I feel like my sons participation in their program has contributed greatly to his recent accelerated success in school. They are open most school breaks which has saved us on so many occasions so we can get to work. I am so grateful!

Black Dragon is a great TKD school that teaches great technique. The instructors really care about the wellbeing and development of each student, not simply passing him or her through a belt system. There are both children and adults in classes making it a wonderful and practical activity for children and their parents! So thankful for our time at Black Dragon.

His teacher at school has even commented on how far my son has come since the beginning of the year. I attribute this improvement to his involvement with Black Dragon after school program. Exciting, Fun, Challenging - Best decision I could have made for my family. For the past year my 4 year old son and I have been attending Martial Arts classes at Black Dragon and cant say enough good things about our experience. Every class we learn something new. My son started when he was 3 and it has single-handedly given him the structure and social skills hes needed for starting pre-school here in a few months. Their little dragons classes are fun and keep them not only entertained but begging to go back and learn more. For me I started a few months after my son once I saw the benefits and realized how amazing the owner and instructors are with each student. At 30 I started with the intent to stay in shape and get some self-defense. Never knew that Taekwondo was an Olympic sport and I started sparring a few months in. Ive enjoyed it so much Ive even joined the competition team and compete in tournaments all around the country. So not only do I stay in shape and learn how to defend myself but I also have discovered one of my new greatest passions, tournament sparring with sport Taekwondo. SO MUCH FUN! Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend giving them a try, doesnt matter your age. This is a school for everyone, they DO NOT discourage anyone and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The only thing you might regret is not going sooner, I know I do.

I came to Tennessee in 2014 with a 5 year history of training in both Taekwondo and Hapkido at a school in another state. Let me say that I started this late in life in my 50s. I had a good background in martial arts and was very happy at my former school. After settling in the Murfreesboro area I found Black Dragon Martial Arts and wanted to continue my training in both Taekwondo and Hapkido which to my delight were offered at Black Dragon. From the moment I entered the school I was greeted with kindness and friendship and was made to feel very comfortable at this school. Mr. Marty, Mr. Nick, Ms Sarah, and Mr Adam are all very accomplished martial artists and also accomplished teachers. Although Mr. Marty and Mr. Nick have attained their 4th degree black belt, which is considered master, they opted to continue to be called Mr. to continue the friendly atmosphere. All of these teachers go out of their way to offer encouragement to all the students and have personally given me many helpful hints to both help with flexibility and guide me with forms. Being an older student I do not have the advantage of being naturally flexible and have to continue to work at this both at school and at home. The personal attention from all of the teachers for Taekwondo has helped me to continue to learn and improve my skills.Hapkido is taught by Mr. Puckett who is also a very accomplished and talented teacher and teaches 3 nights a week the art of Hapkido which is the movement of energy and specifically the use of your opponents energy against him. Mr. Puckett is also very caring and encouraging and gives his students the best possible training in this art.I would without reserve recommend this school to anyone interested in learning one or both of these arts. Let me say that I see regularly parents bring their children to this school to learn and I think that this is good but I would like to say that it would be even better for their children if they also put their fears and reservations aside and stepped out onto the mats as well. I have entered into the second phase of my life which is when systems break down and the ravages of age set in. My plan to fight this is to continue with martial arts for as long as is humanly possible and I hope that I will continue for many years. Although it cannot be stopped it can be slowed down considerably with stretching, meditation, exercise, and continuing to learn new things. All of this can be found in the martial arts. There is pain involved with this as with any exercise but it is good pain and it helps to keep your body healthy. I can say this not only personally but also professionally as I have worked as a Physician Assistant for almost 30 years. So if you want to feel better physically and have more energy and drive I would recommend trying this school for you and your family. I believe you will be hooked as I was and will continue in your path to excellence.
