I am on autopayments. Suddenlink did not take out my payment. They said that the card on file was incorrect (although they were very eager to take the payment now once it was past due) or that the payment did not clear my account. My bank does not show that the payment was ever attempted to be taken out. Suddenlink did not notify me of this issue and I was under the impression the bill was paid on time. I only found out about the billing issue because I was having internet issues and called tech support. After talking with billing they refused to help me or correct the mistake. If I had another choice for internet service I would change. I was a valued customer that was never late on a payment until now!
Worst customer service.. was on the phone for over an hour and they hung up on me mid call.. they will offer the better deals for their new customers but don’t offer them to their returning /existing customers
The installer was some 18 year old kid who damaged my house and then left. Plus, I had to finish the install on my own. He never came back. Called Suddenlink multiple times to have it resolved and customer service would not help me at all. Never ever will I recommend this company for any type of service.
Horrible service. Been without cable and net off and on for awhile and takes forever for them to get a tech to you. Sad when we had an office here and now its just empty. I def would not recommend. Get a local company even if you pay a few dollars more.
Ive never experienced a company with a totally dysfunctional customer service department until now!!!! Would give them a fraction of one star, but that isnt allowed. Hoping the local store opens soon...had no success in talking to an agent over the phone.
Can you even give a negative star rateing i would do a -100% they are absolutely the worst company ever! wish we had bettwr providers here.
Horrible customer service! I would give a lower rating if I could.
This is the worst internet and customer service dept. I have ever encountered. Class action lawsuit coming for you!!
Customer care is a joke to this company. I had to speak with an actual person by saying Id like to add a service and then see if I could be transferred to an actual person and not their automated service. Its incredible the lengths we have go through just to be heard. Well done suddenlink, Im certain the better business bureau.(Update)I finally spoke with a rep, who informed me that I could schedule a technician to come out and sort my issues. However, it is company POLICY to charge $60, just to have a tech come service what is clearly an issue on suddenlinks end. Thats robbery 101. I cant believe they dont have a class-action lawsuit for this already.
Technician came - installed the modem. Did not bother to check the computer or printer. I had to pay a computer service to connect the printer. This company can not connect the computer to the printer; was told that SUDDENLINK needed to complete the task. STILL WAITING for help.
This must be one of the most deceptive, inept cable companies in existence.Response to owner. After months of emails offering an internet upgrade for a certain price I accepted the offer. I had to upgrade my wifi router to handle the speed increase. All seemed ok at that point. Then I get my next bill which is higher than the offered price. When I get through to customer service I am told you must pay, you must pay, you used the upgrade service, you must pay. I am willing to pay for service but only at the offered price. So I told the rep to put my old plan back in place asap. I just checked, that has not been done yet.By the way, the first responsibility of Suddenlink is to proved customer service reps proficient in English and preferably based in the U. S.It was a miserable experience trying to deal with this person. All I got out of it was you must pay, you must pay.
I am giving them 1 sar because I cannot give them a negative number. My internet service is fair when it works, I pay for 1000 mbps service but I see speeds no where near that. now it is not working at all. I tried to call customer service and I get this horrible automated computer service. after nearly 10 minutes it finally decides I can actually talk to pa person, only to get a recording that says it will be over 20 minutes before a customer service agent can speak to me. For the exorbitant prices they charge. I expect much better service than this. I cant wait or another provider to get here. right now they are the only game in town.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. We have called twelve times in the last month to get the same issue addressed, and the problem still hasnt been resolved. All weve asked is that they come and bury an outdoor cable, and despite multiple appointments and agents promising someone would be there in the next 24-48 hours, the cable has been in our yard for two months now.Ive wasted hours on the phone repeating the same story to multiple different agents, been promised that a supervisor would call me in the next 24 hours 3 separate times (obviously, they didnt) and had 3 appointments just in the past week that were never kept.Suddenlink is the worst communications company I have ever worked with, and they do not even make it possible to contact a supervisor or someone who could actually make things happen. I have lost all faith that this cable in our yard will ever get buried. Do not ever work with Suddenlink.
6 moths now at $100 a month and still can’t get the internet fixed. $600 down the drain!! 😡 UPDATE - 11 Months later still NOT working properly!! Wow!
Trash Company. Awful customer service, they will run you around in circles. 3 different CSRs told me three different sets of information, THEN.... GET THIS. The supervisor has me on hold for 40 minutes, disconnects the call mid hold. [Oh and then the fixes he made on the account reverted themselves 3 days before payment is due] oh what a coincidence. Suddenlink as a Corporation is the worst.
DO NOT USE SUDDENLINK!!! If at all possible go with someone else. The costumer service is the worst i’ve Ever dealt with ever!
Rude customer service. They run you around in circles until you give up. Their prices never stop going up
After years of constant bill increases... fighting to get my bill back down (been with them for TEN YEARS) they finally increased my bill AGAIN by 10.00 a month!!!! I called and the lady was NOT friendly and NOT helpful (unlike past years). Not only was she defensive, but then tried blaming the increase on the Government. I could go on. Not worth my breathe. Go with someone else
Horrible customer service and rates constantly increasing.
My mom lives in Arkansas and is on hospice. After someone came to repair her Suddenlink service today, all her TVs are out. After much frustration and endless calls and holds, we are told that no one can return for a week. For you or me, that would be an inconvenience. For a person whose world has shrunk very small, that horrible customer service is beyond the pale. Negative stars.
Wifi goes off EVERY dsy anout 3 and doesnt come back on until like late evening! So tired of it!
If there were negative stars I would choose that. I have never been treated so badly by any company. I wish there was another option.
My mother is being charged for something she didn’t change. She’s asked to speak with a supervisor twice, they tell her they’ll call her back but they don’t. I believe they are in a breach of contract! I will call tomorrow. VERY SAD WHEN YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AN ELDERLY WOMAN!!For the people in Mountain Home, call North Arkansas Electric they are putting in Broadband soon so we can all change to them. I bet Suddenlink will change their toon then! Finally, after the third call, Alex employee #ASAYEDA2 helped me figure this out and was able to resolve my issue. Thank you Alex!!!!
Never fails to be as rude as possible. Overages from streaming Netflix can not or will not be explained in terms of dollars and cents. You get this song and dance about gigabytes or some other nonsense. So dropped cable and kept internet. They will be out of business sooner rather than later and they know it.
Have tried to reach them to tell them Im moving. Went their they were closed so tried calling on hold with. Wrote on my bill to terminate service. Neighbor took all my equipment in and they would not accept it. They were rude as they usually are. I still csnt seem to get any human on phone to help me.
Very difficult Company to deal with. Snooty Employees at the Desk at the Mountain Home Store. They think they are doing me a Favor just by being there, not realizing of course that they get Paid by outrageous Prices for their Services.Good, fast Internet and great Attitude of the Technicians makes it bearable to keep Suddenlink as my Choice of Internet Providers for now. Unfortunately, Internet Companies almost enjoy a Monopoly...If I could give no Star, I definitely would....
By far this is the worst cable internet provider on the planet. Ive paid my bill on time every time. Last month they showed I had a credit of $5.76 and nothing was owed to them. This month they show I am late for last month and owe for two months w/ late fees tacked on. What a bunch of clowns. Im gonna drop them like a bad habit, so long Suddenstink!
45 minutes on the phone to get a replacement for a remote they tell me someone is in the local office go in 3x drive thru window is blocked and these reviews should have negative stars it looks like a different internet provider and roku will be getting our money very soon
If I could give Suddenlink zero/no stars, I would. The store fronts are a joke. They only handle “sales”, or installations. If you have a question about your bill, they give you an 800 number where English isn’t anyone’s first language. Yet they are quick to take your money, payments, “as a courtesy”. Ironically there wasn’t a manager available on site. I spent hours on the phone and coincidentally was disconnected once. Suddenlink “misapplied” $346 of payments, and has the balls to apply late fees. I asked numerous times to speak with a manager or to someone in America! NOTHING was rectified, the language barrier is atrocious, I would rather pay the fees and pull my own teeth, in comparison to dealing with this nightmare again. Suddenlink is a thief! They should not be allowed to do business! And absolutely nothing will be done about my situation, nor countless other customers who were taken advantage of. Worst. Company. Ever.
Four hours of calls and hold time. Customer support is seriously lacking in knowledge. Even after all this time, we still have no internet! Save yourself the headache and chose another provider.
Cant get anything fixed they want to charge me to fix their problem eff that. Time for a new company.
If a real person exist and works for this company, they need them to do some customer relations! Suddenlink sells you internet services that they dont have the equipment to provide. They charge you for a high rate service and provide about half of what they sold you!!
UPDATE: I just tried to access my statement online (because Im enrolled in paperless statements) and was told Im unable to see my statement because my account was placed on CASH ONLY basis for 120 days. I asked to see my statement, and the chat rep just ended the session. So basically she hung up on me when I asked to see my statement. I deserve to see my statement. This is beyond frustrating. Ill be calling the Arkansas Attorney General in the morning. My credit card on file for payment was compromised. I updated the card information in my online account and received notification that my account balance was $0.00. I woke up one morning to find my internet service had been cut off. I called. The customer rep said they tried to process my payment twice a month ago and it didnt go through. I DID NOT receive ONE notice from Suddenlink stating that they were having trouble with my payment....neither via email nor paper mail. My credit card on file was valid and able to take payments....we have not EVER had insufficient funds or been over our credit limit. Regardless, Suddenlink should have contacted me to let me know there was a problem with payment processing. Im not clairvoyant.
Terrible customer service. Can’t get ahold of a human being, only machines. They try and hustle older folks into keeping their service while tacking on endless fees and charges to simply disconnect from their awful service. Highly don’t recommend this business. Go fiber optic.
I started receiving HBO when I did not order it. I had to call 3 different agents to get it resolved. Each call had a wait time of 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. Although your agents give Americanized names, I know I am reaching some call center in India. I do not understand them with their heavy accents. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, I was denied. You are really making it hard staying with your company if this is the type of customer service I can continue to expect. I would appreciate a response but now I can not get into my email at suddenlink.
The worst customer service ever.
My cable TV has been out for over 36 hours. I was supposed to have someone here to repair it between 8 and 11 am. It is now 11:10 and I havent heard anything from them. Can you spell Direct TV, that is who I will be calling tomorrow to reinstall my satellite system. This company has horrible customer service! It reallly steamsto be asked to press 1 to continue in english. We are in America for Gods sake! me to be
After cancelling cable and home phone our internet is still $128 monthly for spotty service.
Worst customer service
Terrible customer service
If you can get a different provider, I would suggest to do so.
I just moved here and had tv and internet installed on Saturday the installer only gave me a channel line up no other info. When I tried to reach someone to find out how to set up email the first time I was on hold an hour and 40 minutes...hung up tried later and after an hour an half gave up. Have been trying again today and so far no luck they said I needed an acct # or pin # how do you get that when you can not reach a person. I have had service in another state for 20 years and have never seen such a poorly organized company. IF this is not settled you can shut mine off and I will go with a dish! VERY unhappy customer at this point!
Worst customer service Ive ever delt with... Ive called numerous times and even gone by the office twice in the past 3 months trying to speak to the office manager and have NEVER been called back. And, when I explained my speed issues with one of the women, she tried her best to tell me how I was checking my speeds incorrectly... How would she know? Im the one who has repaired electronic and electrical issues for a multi billion dollar company in North East Arkansas...Incompetence, thats how I would describe the Suddenlink office and staff in Mountain Home Arkansas.
The reviews are right. You should heed their warnings.Completely inept billing; 5 months into new service and not once received a bill via email nor in the mail. Out of country customer service with a total lack of basic communication skills and with zero control over the account. A complete lack of basic services — if your moving into the area, choice any service provider but this sham of a so-called internet provider. Thank me later.
Dont know which internet provider is slower...CenturyLink or SuddenLink. At first SuddenLink seemed to be better, but recently the internet works at a snail pace. Prices go up and service goes down
Customer service was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
Very good service, I am extremely happy with my Suddenlink cable. It is full-featured; not lacking anywhere. I highly suggest their service. Ive never had any problems with them whatsoever. I dont know what everyone is complaining about in their reviews; I have never had a problem. I am impressed.
WAY overpriced! The INTERNET speed is great but they make you pay much more if you dont want a bandwidth usage limit. They dont bother to tell you that until you find out on your first bill.
I have been trying to reach Suddenlink for two days! I waited on hold for 8 minutes only to be disconnected. I called back and was put on hold again. It is my understanding that the three groups used to answer calls has been consolidated and now one group is trying to do the work of 3! Shame on you suddenlink! I decided to see how long Id be kept on hold...it was TWO HOURS!!! TWO HOURS!!!All I need is my remote control reset as I purchased a new TV. When I finally got though I spent another 30 minutes or so with Jasmine, who tried desperately to reset my remote, but couldnt. She was still trying when she either hung up or we were disconnected! From the questions she ask me in describing my remote, it would appear I need a new one as mine doesnt have the Netflix, Hulu, and other button for services my new TCL TV offers, and their remote will only turn the TV on & off if I ever managed to get the Suddenlink remote reset. Is this your idea of customer service? I am a V.I.P. customer. Is it your plan to keep me waiting for hours and days, just to be able to reset my remote? Is this what you call service? Im on a call-back list, but Im not holding my breath. Im looking for better service!
I’ve never used them, my experience comes from over the phone by asking questions about just getting internet, but the person I talk to, always try’s to get me to buy the cable also..and when I decline I have gotten 2 installers show up and I turned them away and tell them I never ordered it..
What a joke of a company, can never take to a person as of right now have been on the phone for 1hr.20min.
Very nice store very friendly staff.
Horrible service
They keep neglecting to send me my mail, i only get their junk mail. They disconnect me for no reason and expect me to pay a reconnection fee, then they cap my speed when i havent even gone over my limit. Not to mention the intermittent intervals of no service at all which they refuse to acknowledge. If i could choose another affordable service in this hick town I would!
Internet is terrible. We unplugged the phone due to telemarketers calling all hours from day one. Cable freezes and pixelates. Asked to see how we can reduce our bill and was told that they cant discuss that in the local office. Rates go up every other month. The new alternative is looking better and better.
At one time Suddenlink was good to do business with and had good customer service. NOT anymore!!!
Terrible place called multiple time for service and I get passed and on and on and on I used for over 4 year and they did not want to come to 50 mbps total lie more like 25-27 terrible then when I cancel service and got to att then they send me to the retain department why would you do that when you are not taking care of me the whole time then you try to retain me. Then she tells me am lying about the service calls because......what a trash company it was purchased by a European company and that’s why it’s so bad now. Att better service
Went to store to change my service-they refused to help me and told me it had to be done over the phone. Cancelled TV service but kept internet. They wont refund you for services you have already paid for. They force you wait until the billing cycle ends to actually stop service.Terrible customer service. Workers not friendly and dont smile. I hate Suddenlink.
Prices vary alot dont think youll be payin the same for long but most definitely the best provider around
Truth is cable or satellite both have lied to us one time or another. Rates always go up and reconection fee is unrealistic just because of that. I was nice to give 2 stars
Cable bill jumped to over $200 a month for low income family members. This is price gouging when there’s not anything else we can do in the area.
I just want to let everyone know about Suddenlink. Apparently if you have a payment bounce once, they immediately try again, then immediately send it to a third party collection company who then tries to process it up to five times. This has happened to me recently, and this company had SEVEN NSF charges generated by my bank, and SEVEN returned check fees which were conveniently added to my account even after being told verbally that I couldnt pay. A usual ~$70 bill grew in to a $250+ bill, which by the way Suddenlink was personally told to stop trying to collect until I could pay and they said oh yes sir right away, and generating $240 in overdraft charges with my bank. I highly advise against doing any kind of business with Suddenlink, especially if you have a minor financial hiccup here and there. I will be writing negative web reviews on every single site I can find on Google, even the ones that dont matter.
Yes, there are data caps. That said, we are heavy streamers and dont even come close to reaching it! As for customer service - they are always kind, professional, and arrive at the scheduled time. No complaints here!
Frustrated with Suddenlink beyond belief. They tout VIP customers (I am told I am one but I certainly do not FEEL like one) They charge longtime customers twice or more what they are charging new customers for the Better services. For instance I pay for 99 channels and new customers are getting 200 channels for less money than I pay monthly. They keep dropping programming until for months on end there is nothing I choose to watch via cable...when I stream programming then Suddenlink wants to up the cost of my internet. It is not my fault cable programming they carry is so poor I cannot find anything I wish to watch for months on end. Animal Planet channel has become about building and reality shows not depicting animals at all....or programming from 6 to 8 years ago...nothing new. We need some competition in this area...please.
Rates are insanely high for what you get. Received a huge bill last month for extra internet usage when I was suppose to have unlimited. Called to complain . Did not get an apology. Asked to change my package and get rid of house phone.....my phone still rang tonight. Guess what will be on my next bill.
K so Im still new so hopefully the issues will be ironed out some day soon. Signed up 10 days ago for 400mb speed and its never been over 50. Sometimes it drops below 1mb and u have to restart the modem. Last night I got up to 36mb.Called cs 3 times already and the last lady says Im in luck cause shes been in tech support since 2001. I couldnt tell. She told me to return the rented modem or buy my own... Thats it? Yep. Will update if it gets better otherwise no way am I happy and no way will I give more that one star. Not off to a good start suddenstink?
Internet works great for me, cable is good for the most part, sometimes the picture breakup and blips when cloudy or over stormy. We have cable in every room in the house, including the kitchen. Suddenlink techs came out and installed a cable booster, this solved all issues of picking up service. Hopes this helps someone else....cable booster, its an inline power booster that increases the signal strength for multiple TV households.
Thank you all so much for your feedback!!! Saved me the hassle of even calling the place big NO, guess Ill stick with ole centurylinks issues.
Can barely keep their own service afloat. Very disappointing.
On December 21st, I received a phone call from Suddenlinks sales department, offering me a fantastic deal. Only 29.99 more a month to add basic cable. I was already paying 66 a month for internet so it should be just under 100 a month. Got my bill and its nearly 200. I am being charged for everything the salesman said was free. When I called in, the representative sounded like she didnt know what she was doing and basically told me my bill was correct. Im going to be calling back today and hopefully speak with a different person so this can be resolved. I do love the fast internet though.
I wanted to know why The Weather Channel reception is so bad - pixelated, choppy audio, time-line-skip...after going through 6 minutes of unrelated questioning by a recorded attendant I finally was able to speak with a person...was placed on hold for 3 minutes and when she came back she confirmed that yes, there are reports of problems with The Weather Channel in your area... - well ... I already knew that. So I simply asked if the source of the problem was with Suddenlink equipment in our area or something else - she said it was The Weather Channel having some sort of problems sending their signal to Suddenlink for your area... - so, I asked Just my area? Or other areas? She replied I ONLY checked YOUR area SIR. So I said, well, okay, Ill just play this recording for the engineers at The Weather Channel and see if they agree with your assessment... She went all sarcastic attitude and said Yeah, you can play your recording for The Weather Channel or anyone else you want to play it for and I HOPE your get your Weather Channel Back SIR and I hope you have a REAL GOOD DAY SIR... all the polite words but VERY sarcastic. Oh that I really had been recording the call. Anyway, as I expected, Suddenlink PASSED THE BUCK with no real effort to resolve the problem. I was hoping that she would offer to have her people contact the engineers at TWC and FIX the problem. But...no such luck. How sad. NOT a happy customer at this point. And I really hope that the young lady has the opportunity to find a job which is rewarding and fulfilling. It must be terrible to have to take calls from upset customers and she is not given the authority to, you know...actually HELP them. Im sure she is following a script. Poor thing. I really fell sorry for her. Still - I need my Weather Channel. I pay to get TWC. Maybe I need to find another resource to get it.
Mountain home suddenlink here so bad, here work people unkind. There work people do credit card multiple times make erotio, I cant pay your card not work go bank bring cash How do say this ? 😡 Nothing Apologize, unkind. I need, ask some thing ButI cant ask, lgnire the customer. There So scary work people.
Sudden link is great, until you have a problem. Then everything goes through their answering service. You cant call Sudden Link direct about anything. So when you sign up for Suddenlink, make sure you get their sudden links local telephone number.I am 1 for 1 with the call center. One time, they helped me and one time they didnt do anything for me.
Suddenlink has no competition and therefore no reason to provide a service. They could give a squirt of hot piss how you feel or why. Do ittheir way or..... dont do it
Cheated us badly. I have it all on recording and its not coming in good at all. Worst than Centurylink! Didnt want and didnt order. Then got chd for things the man (I have his name) said would be free and we didnt even get our boxes(4) free for two yRS. PLUS I MADE SURE TO TELL HIM IF WE WANTED SUDDENLINK I WOULD CALL BACK AFTER TALKING TO MY HUSBAND. TOLD REPEATEDLY. ALL LIES AND CHGD MONEY I TOLD HIM WE COULDNT PAY OVER $60 A MTH. HE HOOKED US UP FOR TV INTERNET AND HOME PHONE WHICH HE WAS TOLD WE DIDNT WANT. HE TRICKED ME AND I GOT CHGD TO HOOK UP. THOUGHT IT WAS BILL AND DEPOSIT FOR JUST WHAT WE WANTED AND HADNT BEEN TOLD TO HOOK IT UP. LIES AND TRICKS I TOLD HIM NOT TO DO! MUCH MORE MANYORE LIES AND GAMES. RIDICULOUS TO DO DISABLED PEOPLE THIS WAY. CALL ME AND ILL READ U EVERY LIE HE CRIMINALLY DID AND HAD HOOKED UP. WE CAN PLUS WE CANT EVEN PAUSE WITH A HUGE BILL WE DIDNT WANT. CANT FO.
Priced to high and always raising rates, changing lineup, charging fees that dont exist, not honoring mail out advertisement specials and not giving existing customers any chance to get specials or rewards. They suck but they are only company that monopolized internet ..go Dish or Direct tv and internet through a phone company and you may save money but you wont get bilked out of thousands of dollars after 3 yrs in fees and increasements for crappy shows.
Totally Disgusted. Moved in with my parents to help care for my ailing father. Just found out 4 months later that I cant use my email address even though moms provider is Suddenlink! We cant put the account in my name because shell lose her email. And it has taken a week and a half just to find out that I cant. Apparently, Suddenlink doesnt use computers. I am looking for another provider tonight.
Fastest internet in town!! Supports all m gaming needs!!
Suddenlink is not only a monopoly in the Abilene area, but has also cheated and lied to me. I signed up for $35/month internet service through them about 6 months ago, and asked repeatedly to ensure that $35/month was the rate that I was getting. Every agent, though trying to upsell me along the way, confirmed that $35/month was indeed the price. When I get my first bill, $41.54 are the charges, because of a $5 modem rental fee. I understand that its reasonable to charge for this service, but why was I never informed of this ahead of time? When I talked to their customer service about getting the charge removed, their representative flat-out admitted that it was unethical for them to charge that fee without telling me, and that he didnt know why I was charged it. However, they still didnt remove the fee.Of course, 6 months later, my modem box stops working correctly, and even though I am a computer programmer by trade, the modem box they sent me is locked down so I cant fix anything on it. So now I have to call Suddenlink support and get it replaced or fixed, most likely at my expense.Bottom line: NEVER use Suddenlink unless you absolutely have to.
Would give it zero stars but it was not an option. Never in my life have dealt with a company that treated its customers so badly. Only thing good about it was the local techs. Company should be ashamed the way it treats its customers. Wish I had other options.
Den of Thieves.
We too live in a SMALL town where dish type services do not work we have a delightful Suddenlink bundle..recently they removed the 500-900 channels. we get pixalation ( i learned that word from it happening so many times when i called tech support).we also have a blank screen sometimes either before or after pixalation.. if their robo creatures were real one might feel like doing an unkind gesture, which i better not say....
This is the only service provider in my area than has so called high speed internet. if you are using more than one device at a time everything slows to a crawl, streaming sucks. i pay for the fastest your company can provide and cant get my streaming movies in hdx, if you arent hardwired its slow as hell. seriously considering other options that include better channels, and faster internet speeds.
A visit to the local Mountain Home office revealed a disinterested, lame and almost rude office staff. It wouldnt take much now for me to switch to satellite.
If they do not give me fast reliable internet like I am currently paying for then I will be switching to century link and anyone reading this review I would recommend you do the same no customers no money and maybe just maybe they will get off there ass and do there job
Get next.
Technician was to come between 8-10. No calls to say they will be late. Called Customer Service - didnt even bother to apologize! If we could only choose another internet provider... Rude and VERY VERY POOR customer service.
I never like coming here. I cant remember his name but the guy that works the desks will lie like there is no tomorrow. He explained a bill hike I had several months ago and assured me it was a one time deal regarding my TV/cable package. Next month rolls around and I get the same bill and he tells me he never said anything of the sort.
Sales only, dont bother coming in to ask questions. Rude staff, we are sales only, coming in and asking about billing is like going to a butcher and asking for a cake. -BJ Suddenlink representative
HORRIBLE COMPANY...Poor everything. The installer sent my Mother to walmart to get a part he needed for her installation .She is 82 w/ a heart condition. She doesnt drive and took a cab there that cost her 30 bucks.I asked mother why she would ever do such a thing and she said she wanted her tv on because she waited a week for installation.Meanwhile he was alone in her house ....Geeze. I told the company and they did give her free service for awhile to make up for her taxi fare.BEWARE folks
Im expecting them to come and install my internet between 1 and 5 Friday afternoon. So I call at 4 because theyre still not here and they tell me oh we cant come today because we put down the wrong time slot. Like seriously? If that was the case, you could have at least notified me so I could do something with my life on my day off instead of sitting here looking stupid. Thank you Suddenlink. Poor service in North Carolina and now here in Abilene too. Youre lucky youre the only service I can get. Do your jobs.
The worst ISP for Residential or Business that Ive had the displeasure of dealing with across four states over 19 years. Horrible customer service, reps routinely lie and and try to guilt customers into paying for more service. They use predatory tactics to call nearly several times a month aggressively trying to upsell products. They employ a data cap that is not clearly states and accounts for >2% of the lines capability. Frequent unscheduled maintenance when the service isnt just out period. Over the last 2 years the bill has gone from $130 to nearly $190 some months with numerous additional fees they charge. Any complaint against the company is either met with an accusation that the customer should just use less internet if not worst.TV is just as bad with nearly ~50 channels that have been removed in the last 2 years (which isnt reflected in the service costs), channels that routinely just go out for long periods of time and random channel changes. All non-HD channels are zoomed in, cutting off a full third or more of the screen and clearly overly compressed and cropped. If you have a choice go with another provider, even if you have to take slower speeds.
Horrible programming, Very expensive. And being a loyal customer doesnt mean anything.
I have never had such a problem with any other company, EVER!I signed up for internet when I first moved out into my own place. Thats when the lies and distrust for this company starts. I told them I only want internet, I have no need for cable tv. They told me they cant sell internet without cable. Wow really that makes a lot of sense Netflix is taking away from cables ad revenue but whatever so I bundled. Started at $87.22 a month I thought that was a lot at the time but I knew I was paying for fast internet in a small town. Then they started tacking on little things like annual service increases but then it got even worse. I got a roommate we started hitting our data cap, wait a second I dont remember ever being told about having a data cap. Im use to having one on my phone which I also think is ridiculous the internet isnt some finite thing like oil. I was never told about having a cap before this, when I talked to customer service they told me they have always had one but thats not true. Upon research into this data cap I had discovered that Suddenlink had duped us into a data cap. They offered loyal customers, a free speed upgrade by resetting your modem. Doing this entered you into a new agreement with Suddenlink that now has a data cap. Sneaky Suddenlink real sneaky now my bill runs from $139.25 to $160 plus. Needless to say Im looking for a new better option for my internet needs.
I see a lot of other people saying they have not liked their service, but we have had the opposite experience. We signed up with 50mb internet and after a few months they upgraded it in the area another 25mb. I had one problem with our internet but was able to call them and they got it back working no problem. Far better than Comcast customer service, if you have ever had to deal with them its terrible. All in all we had no problems, and had very constant internet service. Would recommend over any DSL service.
For me at least, the outages are only occasional, (once or twice every month). We do not have their cable service because netflix is cheaper, and we can just watch the news online for free. I mean for all I care, I can just watch regular television online that is ad enabled. No subscription. Just advertisements placed to pay the broadcasting companies. As for their internet, the speeds are actually generous for what you pay for. We have the highest plan possible in our area, the 50/3 download/upload plan with 350 GB of data per month. We tend to go over that small limit by 100-300 gb every month. So that kind of makes the price not so generous. Why is there even a limit? Why not have limits based on each person in a household??? 100GB for 1 person all the way to 1TB for 10? I just dont understand. They tell you to upgrade to get more bandwidth, but then again, you get higher speeds too. Guess what that means? Downloading faster and downloading even more! Therefore, making the upgrade pointless because you use even more than before!Their phone service is fine. Only issue is outages, but those outages arent often and include internet too.If they just had faster upload speeds and triple the data limit, I would rate it 5 stars.I wouldnt mind paying $5-$10 more a month for triple the data. 1TB would be enough so our family can actually watch youtube, netflix, stream spotify, and actually play games without going over and getting charged $10-$40 extra a month...Side note, why does suddenlink say I live in texas? I live in California! Since the last outage, we now have a slightly more consistent connection, but live in Abilene, TX in a military base. Makes no sense.
These guys change their services without notice very often. For instance they very recently introduced a data cap for their high speed internet. I didnt know until I went over it. They also pulled channels from their TV packages and after calling them to ask about them I was pretty much told to deal with it.A major downside to this ISP is that they throttle certain data sets. For instance Netflix, YouTube, and Torrents will all be throttled if you are a heavy user of said services. Also you will find that if you enjoy international politics that several sources of information such as documentaries on the US financial system are blocked by this ISP.If there was any type of real competition to this service in Abilene I would sign up without hesitation
They are so helpful 😊
Very nice people
I wish you could give minus stars they don’t even deserve a 1 star rating!!!
