They charged us $450 dollars of our damage deposit to “clean” a carpet they ripped up, they charged us for drip pans on the stove that we had JUST paid $100 to replace, charged us ten dollars a nail hole and didn’t split it between roommates, there were three tenants on our lease, but because two of us were dating they gave us ONLY ONE CHECK BETWEEN THE TWO OF US, which is obscenely unprofessional. In addition, Margaret was unpleasant constantly. This place is run by slum lords. DO NOT RENT HERE.

They will definitely take your deposit

Absolutely the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. The rent is way too high for the closet of a two bedroom we lived in. When we moved in, the place was damaged in many different places, which we reported, but no one ever reached out to come repair the damages, so we lived with uneven floor boards and broken kitchen drawers all year. The apartment itself is super outdated and dingy. Calling maintenance meant being met with a $60 fee tacked on to the next months rent. Sometimes the garbage trucks will just skip the dumpsters and the trash will be over flowing for days (this happened multiple times throughout the year). Washers and dryers are so tiny and so expensive you have to pay almost $5 just to wash a few things. When we moved out, we left the place MUCH better than we found it and they still took every dime of our $800 deposit (including $300+ in cleaning fees??). Not sure what they did with it, because I guarantee it wasn’t improving the apartment! So happy to be moved out, definitely never looking back. Slumlords at their finest!

We and our families spent almost a week cleaning and replacing everything in our unit leaving it way better than it was when we moved in and somehow they spent 9 hours cleaning our unit. No matter what you do you will not get more than 1/2 your deposit back if you get anything back at all. Definitely one of the worst rental experiences I ever had living on the Palouse and I’m beyond glad to be done with them. Margaret is super unprofessional as well, expect to get yelled at and called stupid in more ways than one.

Margaret at Brennan Properties was an absolute joy to work with! The process for both move-in and move-out was super easy. I rented starting in August 2019. They were fine with me moving in a few days after the first, since I was waiting for a weekend to move back for school. The apartment was clean and tidy when I moved in, and all of the (minor) issues I mentioned were quickly handled (missing screen on window, dirty underside to range overhead). The repair people (I’m sorry, I forgot your names!) were so nice.A few times, I had some complaints about the property/my neighbors (sidewalks not shoveled of snow, dog poop in the communal grass), and these were handled very quickly and professionally!The lease paperwork was very specific as to charges for repairs after move out, so I knew exactly what to expect. After I moved out, I got the remainder of my deposits (one for the apartment, one for pet rent) within a couple weeks.I don’t understand why Brennan Properties has such a low rating on here. I think that as long as you make your rent on time (you have the first three days of the month to pay it – I always paid a few weeks in advance. They kept good records) and remain a respectful neighbor, you won’t have any issues renting with them. They are also a smaller company, so if you maintain good communication, you will quickly build a nice rapport.This is truly the best rental company I have used so far! Thank you, Brennan Properties!

I had a close friend recently move out, and the place itself when they moved in wasn’t the best. Granted my friend was in college so he wasn’t expecting a luxurious apartment. Upon move out they charge for so so so much. For apartments that aren’t the best kept, I was surprised not only would they keep the entire deposit but they then charged $600+ on top of the deposit. As renters you never know how much of the deposit you’ll get back if any at all, but then to also add mass amounts of charges on top of the deposit is outrageous. For example $60 to replace drip pans??? Walmart sells them in 4 drip pan sets costing $15-$25. Unfortunately I wish this was just one bad occurrence but it seems that this has happened to many others as well. My advice don’t rent from this property. If you have to rent from Brennan Properties because it’s the last resort- don’t expect any money back.

Please dont rent from this place. Save yourself from so much more then just losing money. These people are the worst rental place Ive ever been with. Still have over a month on my lease and they are constantly doing showings. The apartment had literal bags of trash in it upon move in. No one maintains the property whatsoever. I can already tell they will be keeping most of my 800 dollar deposit even thoughi keep my house spotless. I complained about the shower drain when I first moved in. No follow up. I had flooding outside my front door everytime it rains. They blamed it on my neighbor. One patch of grass on site and everyone takes their dogs to poop there and no one cleans it. I dont have a dog and I have to walk through it just to get to my door. These people are so unprofessional. I was moving out two weeks early hoping to avoid the constant showings but they started it when I still had over a month on my lease. I would give 0 stars if possible

The WORST rental experience I have ever had. If I could rate below a “1 Star” I would. Grand theft robbery on deposit deductions. They will add on fees and charges left and right. Heed the warning from other reviewers. STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I am disgusted by this business and how they treat college students. This apartment was an absolute dump yet they are trying to charge $1400.00 in damages with the $800.00 deposit included. In reading reviews on yelp & google this is what they do to most of their clients. This is my son and his roomates third apartment and suddenly they do $1400 dollars in damages. No way... the charges they are placing on the account is highway robbery. $45.00 for three metal drip pans that are $1.00 at Walmart. $28.00 to pressure wash the area in front of their front door that everyone on that floor of the building has to walk over. Slow running drains on an apartment from 1975. Its truly disgusting how they are preying on college students who has very little choice as to where to live in this tiny town. She was suppose to send me a copy of the lease which never happened. Now I am going to voice mail. Seriously, sad how they do business.

Rented with them recently and I can say that all of these reviews are pretty accurate.

Scammers and rip off. Not loyal, not honest, and dont keep any word. Building is falling apart. Its older than 1989 and nothing is new or up to date. The laundry room is a complete joke. 1 washer or dryer is always down and a rip off as well. And everyone in the complex will take your clothes out of the washer or dryer and set them on top of the nasty unclean tops of the machine. And people there also will steal your clothes.Horrible renting experience of my life.

Upon move in, our three bedroom apartment was in less than acceptable condition. Following repeated requests, Brennan Properties refused to clean the soiled carpets, fix broken doors, repair a broken smoke detector, and fix a cracked window. Upon move out, Brennan Properties attempted to take our full 1200 dollar deposit, and additionally attempted to charge us an extra 450 dollars. Fortunately, we had taken ample photographs and a 20 minute video upon move in highlighting every inch of this despicable apartment. I personally ended up suing Brennan Properties, taking them to small claims court. I won my case against them. This attempt at a business is a scam. Dont let the office ladies fool you, these people will take what little money college students with no regard moral decency. I give Brennan Properties my absolute lowest recommendation.

Worst rental place Ive dealt with. Harassing phone calls and ridiculous accusations. Told me I needed to stop coming home late and annoying neighbors because I worked late and dont get home until 9 or 10.

Extremely dishonest, deserve a no star rating. Will blatantly lie. Terrible management. Roof and Windows leaked 4 different times while rented from them. They never even changed the carpet before we moved in which was full of holes and stains. Worse renting experience I have ever had.

Not sure how they were able to delete the bad reviews on here, but people should know to stay clear of this company because they do not treat their tenants fairly as soon as they have no use for them ($$). They charge you with bogus things on your refund and you will never see your money returned, and even owe more.
