The gym has no A/C. Bringing guests in costs $10. There’s no option to cancel your membership online or in person. Instead, you have to contact them at their email address that they rarely answer, and then they make you wait an additional 30 days before the cancellation is finalized so they can bill you again. Fortunately you can always dispute this charge with your bank.

Ive been a member of the Lakeview Fitness Center for two years now and I really like it. The people that come to work out arent pretentious. It isnt a meat market -- its regular people coming to stay active and be healthy. There are some big dudes that come, but most are nice and everyone seems very humble. The facility is a little old, and some staff members just sit around, but there are others that are very attentive.I think Id describe it as a solid home-town kind of gym. Its not glitzy and fake.The price is good and covers some fitness classes as well as pool use, the gym, as well as the weight room area. There is a sauna and steam room and jacuzzi. There are enough free weights and machines, that I dont have to wait in line to use them.Overall, I really like being a part of Lakeview Fitness and would wholeheartedly recommend it to someone wanting to start on their fitness goals.

We got charged for a membership then found out over 2 weeks that the gym was closed every day after. They would not pick up the phone calls or respond to any messages. Called the resort and found out that there was a contract problem and that they would be closed for the rest of the year. No refund was ever issued. Had to call the bank and dispute the charge and stop future payments.

Good gym with old equipment. Never too busy and everyone is pretty friendly here. It is right next to the hotel so expect to park far away and have to walk but other than that it has been great being a member.

A lot of variety, and they have a child care center. That allows you to work out and know your child is safe. very friendly and helpful staff

Went to swim.Hot tub felt really good.Staff member always very helpful and pleasant with me.Would like more privacy in locker room when I shower.

Good price and not usually that busy. Older equipment but they have everything you need and more. Very nice staff and other members are very friendly.

Had my daughters birthday party here. It was nice and the price was good. Parking wasnt ideal especially for handicapped people.

One of the better gyms in town! Friendly staff. Good deals on memberships with a lot of equipment to use and a pool! The only drawback is that its in Cheat Lake, which can be a drive out there if you dont live in that direction.

Great gym. Hardly ever busy. Im an NPC competitor, so Im there to do work. Cant wait for people just sitting on machines talking on their phones.

They have daycare while your working out. Good equipment and basketball and tennis courts

Not busy, meh equipment, and the only gym I can find that offers childcare (which is the only reason I bothered), but the entire facility is in EXTREMELY poor repair--the Google pictures were taken at least a decade ago/right after it opened, if I had to guess. Literally paint-peeling-off-cinderblock-walls bad.

This is currently the best option in town for someone not associated with WVU to have access to lap swimming at a reasonable price. Its not the newest or prettiest gym, but the indoor pool (3 laps to 100m) works for me! There are lots of options for machines of thats your thing (its common for a treadmill to be down but theyh have several), racquetball court, and spinning bikes you can use even not as part of a class. Theres a climbing wall, too.Child care is critical for me, and you can get it bundled with your membership. They take good care of my kids while I work out.A solid option for a gym without a lot of frills or hype. Check these guys out.

Went there for the steam room mainly and for some reason you have to go to the front desk for them to turn it on... and then you have to keep going back every 5 min to turn it on again. WTF? Why doesnt the timer work that is on the steam room?

Its ok. They have a pool and some Equipment. A few benches and dumbells go to 120 I think. Room is tight though.

Dirty Facilities and the management is terrible. Equipment is always broken.

I joined this gym because they have a lap pool. But every weekend this winter, the pool has been reserved for “private” events by non-members. And this often includes the basketball and other court areas. It’s very frustrating.

Needs a good overhaul.
