Dropped off some oversize letters at front desk. Wait was not too long and clerk was pleasant. Fairly good parking on street, most spots were filled on a busy Saturday morning. They have later Saturday hours, 10 - 4, than the Glen Ridge PO, which is helpful. During the week, 10 - 7.

Visiting the post office during this period of COVID-19 caution, I didnt know what to expect. It was a pleasant surprise! There were only a couple of other customers, all wearing masks and standing fat apart in line. The workers masks were hanging below their chins, but they were behind thick glass. The workers werent especially friendly, inspired, or helpful, but on par with other post offices.Mostly I was glad that it was a safe place to visit during this virus crisis.

This exceptional branch pulled a package off their truck and returned it to the office for me before business hours so I could pick it up early. Super helpful!! I noticed they opened their windows earlier than their 10a start time which was very unusual and really accommodating. Adriana you are awesome! Thank you for this surprisingly good service!

For USPS this is a better than average experience. There is decent parking, the office is open until 7pm weeknights (by 6pm for outgoing deadline), the staff is helpful and well informed. Very decent. What is not great is the long lines, but go off peak and you can avoid the crowds. There is no self serve kiosk.

Would give negative 100 stars if I could. Does not deliver packages properly - leaves outdoors on top of mail box, delivers mail to random individuals in the building with no regard for apartment number, too lazy to open outside door of building or too stupid and says they cannot deliver tiny package that would fit in mailbox or could leave in inside vestibule like UPS and FedEX have managed to do. Carrier is totally inept and service is terrible.

Hands down, this post office has given me the worst service I have ever experienced. When I first moved to Montclair, the mail for my building was not even being sorted; they were just dumping the mail all in one mailbox. It took 3 phone calls and an in-person visit to get them to put the mail in the correct mailboxes. I also had a different mail carrier almost everyday, and had mail carriers delivering mail in plain clothes rather than uniforms. When we moved away we made sure to set our forwarding address in advance of our move and not a single piece of mail was forwarded. Absurd! I have no idea how this office could be as inefficient and disorganized as it is.

This place consistently “loses packages”, marks packages as delivered, delivers mail to the complete wrong address, has moody employees, tells people that they can’t bring more than one package to send out unless you have a “manifest”. WHO THE HELL HAS A MANIFEST FOR THREE PACKAGES?I tracked a package today that I had been expecting for a week now. I got the notice that it was delivered to my house, I of course was working today. I get home at 9pm and guess what?! ITS NOT THERE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED!Now what am I to do? Take time off of work and try to argue with the post master about how awful their delivery people are at their job and HOPE that for some reason they marked it as delivered but actually have it there? I mean come on... I know everyone has to be rated on their jobs but if they’re actually marking things delivered but not delivering them so they don’t get in trouble then we’ve got a serious issue here. I’ve been living in Montclair for 6 years now. I can’t tell you a time that the mail service has EVER been able to deliver mail properly for more than a month tops before I get someone else’s mail, a package is lost, a “delivery attempt was made” while I was home and no one rang the door bell. I CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP! I GUESS ITS TRUE... JUST BANK ON GETTING A GOVERNMENT JOB AND YOU CAN DO THE ABSOLUTE MINIMAL AMOUNT OF WORK AND STILL KEEP YOUR JOB.

Had to buy a $4 roll of tape to attach a preprinted label, even though I was already purchasing an envelope. I asked if I could leave the tape for other customers since I used all of 2 strips from a roll. Sorry other customers, USPS doesn’t believe in paying it forward.

Worst service ever. Lazy, slow. But this review seems to not be special as its very consistent with every other review on here. Also, they refused to help me when I took a call that was an emergancy. Ive never heard of a business that can stay alive treating customers the way they do. They just dont care at all. I go there 3x a week and no one even says hello, how are you, nothing. At least if you are slow, be friendly.... give me something to work with here. However they consistently circle the feedback QR code so I can review their service. So I took them up on that today.

I love the people at this post office they are very nice, but I believe its one of the worst post offices in the world. Heres my reasons for saying so, the amount of time it takes standing in lines, people receiving the mail you send out and theyve left my mail as well as my neighbors mail out in the rain twice. We have mail boxes and the Post office has all the keys to get into the building where the 4 Mailboxes are. Either they forget the keys, too lazy to come in or they just dont care. I know that post offices are suffering but with this kind of service I really hate to say it but, I think they are bringing it on themselves and will continue to suffer.

Consistently delivers the wrong tenants mail to my home, often leaving envelopes scattered on the floor beneath the mailboxes. Most recently, they failed to overnight an extremely important document which nearly cost me a substantial amount of money. An absolute embarrassment to the USPS.

Twice my packages have been lost with this post office. I also currently have a package from a completely from address (street name and number dont match this address at all) sitting in my lobby from them delivering it to the wrong place. Impossible to get in touch with anyone on the phone. They need to fix this.

I was told multiple times that the supervisor would call me back because of a very important package that had been sitting in their location. No one reached out to me. Here are the images of the mail we received yesterday. We have a sizable mailbox that all our mail needs to placed in. Please, notice important letters from our banks soaked. It is impossible to read them and keep the records. Instead, the mail people choose to throw it on the ground. For a while, they thought they were newspaper delivery when they were throwing our mail on the driveway. I complained to the supervisor of the post office in the past with no results and the negligence continued. After posting a negative review, no results - the same situation continues. I have no more words for this lack of professionalism, negligence etc...

Worst Post Office Service ever. They never want to deliver any large size package to you. They lied saying tempting delivery and left you a notice but its not true. They just want you to go to the post office to pick it up yourself. The person in the Glenridge location wasnt friendly or helpful when you called to ask for a re-delivery. Now he even not picking up the phone and just re-direct your call to the national line. I bet he got a lot of complaints call and thats why hes not bother to pick up anymore phone call. How can we get rid of these people with no work ethic?

All the mail delivered to our house today was for the person next door. If thats the case, then OUR mail was delivered to the house on the OTHER side, which is currently empty, so we will have no way of getting any mail for us until the new tenants take possession, whenever that is. Since we ALWAYS get mail, this is not a casual issue.Called the post office and was told by the automated operator that the wait time to speak to a representative was 40-50 minutes. Give one star because that was the minimum allowable to post these comments, otherwise would have given zero.

During my 25 years residency in Montclair township, NJ, Ive continuously experienced totally wrong delivery services by USPS, regardless of my residence or office. The carriers dont seem to read the exact address, and putting ours into another office mail box or house. Today, it got worse, leaving all of another office (MTC PLZ) mails into ours and we cannot retrieve ours since the other office is closed today.For example, they deliver mails for 28 Warfield to 28 Windsor pl, orSuite 21 for suite 22. This is everlasting issue in spite of our efforts to report the main postal office. How and Who is going to correct this basic and crucial issue????

I went to the USPS today to pick up some stamps. As typical, the Clerk was very customer-friendly with me as well as all of the customers who were in line ahead of me. I know that working on the front line with customers is not an easy task and some customers appear to make it theyre mission to make others as miserable as they appear to be. With this in mind the Clerks seem to take all of that negative with stride and work to meet the needs of their customers.

The tellers are very nice. However, I am tired of my mail being delivered to any one of my neighbors or lost. I witnessed a carrier talking on the phone while he was putting the mail in the boxes in my building. It was no wonder that a piece of mail was placed in the wrong mail box.

Ive had some infuriating experiences here. They are slow. They are rude. They are lazy. This is why I turn to a more expensive 3rd party mail carrier - you cant put a price on time wasted and this location is not worth the time sink for something as simple as mailing a package.

I sometimes use this PO because theyre open until 7 pm on some days. EVERY TIME that I go there :: HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ( in my experience ) !!! They are very rude to me. I use two different West Orange USPS locations & also Glen Ridge on a regular basis. I also have to go to random post office locations at times. Montclair USPS always seem to have a crazy attitude when Im around. Ive been there 5 times within the past 6 weeks ... maybe they dont like my baseball hats ??

By far the worst postal service I have ever dealt with. I have not recieved packages because they were delivered elsewhere. Another time I had to go to the post office to ask for a package that was supposed to be delivered over a week ago and they claimed they could not read the address, but they could have just scanned it to see the address. Constantly getting others mail. Also they never give enough time to get to the door when am package is being delivered. I could go on...

They have now lost two checks I have tried to mail out- one of which was my mortgage. Have no idea what they are doing with the mail they pick up from my house. Using it for firewood maybe? All started going downhill when the mail processing moved to Montclair from Verona. One day - no lie - they delivered my mail at 7:00 pm...they needed to use a flashlight to read the address on the mail to make sure they were at the right house. Another time the carrier did not want to lug all the mail all over the street so she just left a pile of it on my retaining wall in my driveway - which I should have reported and got her fired for that. You just cannot leave other peoples mail abandoned on the street like that - federal offense. Dumb@$$es.

Ive been trying to reach a supervisor via phone. For the last couple days my neighbor and I have had our mail slightly torn open only on envelopes containing checks and credit cards. Not real credit cards thankfully just the ones that pre-approve you. Is it a coincidence that ONLY mail containing (or mail that looks like it contains money) is being torn open?

Must agree. Some of the people there (not all) are very friendly and helpful. But the place has (usually) two people serving at least a dozen people. Ive lived in Montclair many years, and used this post office frequently, and Ive never seen more than two mail servers behind the glass--ever! Its very poor way to run a busy post office--IMO.
