Excellent day again at Lake Montclair Anytime Fitness. Always a positive day when at the gym.
Management is friendly and very helpful. The gym is always clean and maintains upkeep on cleaning supplies for the equipment.
Clean and has everything you need to get a good work out in. Only met the employees once but they were kind & helpful. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the little young privileged group of bros that like to horse around and hog up the the gym. Aside from that place is great.
The gym is pretty great itd be nice if they had octagonal weights and more than one straight bar. JAMES IS THE BEST such a great guy super helpful and just all around good energy for the gym. Members here are awesome leave you alone if you want but also extremely friendly.
From sign up and beyond they offer great, friendly customer service. I’d definitely recommend them to any friends or family members looking for a new gym. A special thank you to Denny for all he does in making members feel welcomed and important.
Facility and equipment kept clean. Attendant is almost always pleasant.
Its always clean. There is always someone cleaning when I come in for my workout now. The new female manager is attentive and she actually listens. I had a billing issue that I discussed with one of the staff members and within 20 minutes the manager was calling me. Every time I see her she treats me like family.
The staff did an amazing job during this pandemic. Very clean.
Joining this gym is a breeze - cancelling it? Not so much. I cancelled this account in June or at least I thought I did. You have to send written request (which I did) and then cross your fingers and hope that Anytime Fitnesss financial company (ABC Financial) actually receives your request via mail. A few months later, I realize Im still being charged. I called Anytime Fitness but no one was answering despite me calling during staffed hours. Then, I call ABC Financial, they tell me they never received the letter and explain that only the manager can approve a credit for the previous months. Eventually, I finally talk to Sue, the manager of the Dumfries AF. She tells me that in good faith shell cancel the account as of today and Ill have one more payment to make. If youre reading this still, you understand my dismay. Throughout the call she continued to insult me by saying I was only so perturbed because she wasnt telling me what I wanted to hear and that her hands were tied without the letter. Customer service is dead at Anytime Fitness and even IF the space were bigger, had nicer equipment, and a friendlier staff I STILL wouldnt recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

As soon as I walked in the employee was very rude. Cut me off multiple times. Definitely terrible customer service. I signed up for a guest passed and they emailed me saying it was ready. I am military and I do not have a Virgina ID. I was told I could not do the guest pass without the Virgina ID. I was hoping to get a membership here, but that wasn’t the case. Not happy with this place. It was a lady, she didn’t mention her name at all either.
Brand new cardio equipment, clean facility, attentive staff, and professional management. Many classes to choose from and personal training.
Had a heck of a time cancelling our membership. Had to ultimately send 2 certified letters to get it done. Dont waste your money like we did.
Last year I signed up for a membership with Anytime Fitness and due to my disability, I was forced to terminate my membership. I was instructed by the manager of that facility to provide documentation from my doctor to relieve me of any additional financial requirements. I turned in the documentation that was required only to find out that a year later that the letter did not have the words, substantial disability to qualify for termination. The letter was signed by my doctor and had all her contact information. The manager saw the letter and it was accepted only to be turned down by ABC financial who is a billing group for anytime fitness who havent been qualified to deny a doctors note. The problems are the methods of contact and the clarification that was needed to avoid my account going to collections and unethical business contract medical termination procedures. When I turned in the documentation that I received from my provider after waiting for a substantial time just to see my provider anytime fitness continued to charge my account. The entire cancellation process appears to have unethical business practices without clarification that the words substantially disabled must be in the letter and contact through email is the primary means of communication. ABC financial did attempt to contact me through email and the email went to junk mail, I received no call but they said they did and they said they mailed a letter but I havent seen them. My account went to collections that I have resolved but it should not have and additionally, I was charged 180 dollars during the months of their efforts to resolve this matter.
Best option for a local gym. Glad to be able to avoid the 95 corridor when going to the gym in the evening. Always clean, helpful staff, great members.
I keep trying to go to this place, its right by my house and has tanning so it would be super convenient. Whats not convenient, however, is the fact that every time I try, theyre locked. First I came 10 minutes before the staff was supposed to leave, just to ask about prices, but the door was already locked. Then I looked up the hours on their website, which is completely random and doesnt match what it says on their door. So I came back again at a time their website said theyd be there, but the door was still locked. I have no idea when to even go because the hours given on the door dont seem to apply, and the hours on the website dont seem to apply. How do you expect to get new customers if all the information is wrong and youre never staffed??? I just tried to call too and still no answer. So frustrated and annoyed.

Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware. DO NOT sign your name to any contract with this location unless you live in the area, and SERIOUSLY plan on using their facilities. DO NOT sign your credit away because she, the owner, will do everything in her power to destroy it. I provided doctors notices after having two major car accidents in 2014 that put me in over a year of physical therapy. I provided her with the medical documentation proving I needed to cancel my membership. She STILL is hounding me for the last several months of my membership there. She refuses to let them go. Now I no longer live in the area, and she is marring my credit history over a few hundred dollars for the months of service that I didnt use her establishment due to things that were out of my control, and she refuses to provide me with copies of the contract. It has been a nightmare. Again, Caveat Emptor.
Perfectly nice but very small facilities. No staff assistance available. Really overpriced. Really unprofessional ownership. Only gave second star for decently maintained equipment

Mostly good.Only 1 olympic bar.The cage for the 1 olympic bar is located too close to the leg press sledm making for an inconvenient and somewhat dangerous situation.Weights dont always get racked after use, making it sometimes difficult for a small woman to change weights.
Good Gym. All the essential equipment. It is a little smaller so at busy times it can be crowded but over all a good experience.
Over priced an ABC financial will take to much from your account when you cancel
