Part of my home flooded in early July, and after SerClean dried and treated the place, I hired SEC to oversee the repair work. This involved repairs to wallboard, repainting, new vinyl tile in laundry and bath, and carpeting in three rooms. Two things impressed me the most: first, how responsive SEC personnel are to questions and concerns, and, second, how good the craftspeople are that they brought to the various tasks. All concerns or questions were addressed without issue, thanks to Corey and Andrew, and the overall workmanship was top-notch.

Southern Elite Contracting truly lives up to their name. I spoke to a very nice and professional gentleman named Andrew. I needed one of the walls repaired in our soon to be baby girls room, since our dog thought it was a good idea to chew a hole through it. Needless to say it turned out perfect. They also worked with my wife’s idea she saw on Pinterest to add on a diamond shaped 1x3 MDF pattern to give our baby girls room some flare. If I ever need anything done around the house I will always call them first, since every “can you do…. question was answered with an “of course/absolutely”. I could go on and on about my positive experience, but I’ll just save you the time and close with this. Call Southern Elite Contracting, since I have used many contractors that were sub-par and costly since the job had to be re-done. They get it right the first time for a great value!

I used Southern Elite to replace the floors in my home due to a leak. Not only did they do a remarkable job to my satisfaction, but Gary Staffins assisted me through the entire price process and was always professional and had a pleasant personality. He took my phone calls at any time and answered all my questions. I will definitely use them again.

This is the most disorganized, unprofessional business that I have ever experienced. The are a contractor inside of a contractor. Which means they are a middle man and not doing the work directly. The work is poor. The communication is poor and the price is more then it should be for the lack of quality given.

Great professional company! They get the job done the right way! All the guys that work their are great but we love Corey Lewis! From building new roofs or remodeling a bathroom to an entire house remodel these are the guys to call!

My experience is that these guys truly care about one thing. Getting the money and running down the road. Im not going to give the amount of time to them that it would take to tell the entire story. But Ill say this, at the end of the day, your roof isnt supposed to leak. Mine did. It took a lot of rain and the right wind but it leaked.. And his response was basically, its not my problem, its a weather related issue. Correct! Weather related.. When it rained hard, my roof, that you installed without flashing in one place, leaks. I hired another roofer to repair it which took 20 minutes. SEC Contacting should have taken care of it. Instead, I got.. Ill send a guy to give you a price... I wouldnt let them touch another thing I own.

Southern Elite inspected our roof due to a leak. Inspection found the leak at the wood burning stove chimney. They repaired and said rest of roof was in good shape. Good job.

I would have given 0 stars but that wasnt an option. I had Corey Lewis, leading the make over of my bathroom. Most unprofessional job ever. The bathroom looks worse than it did before the make over.Devin Smith CEO, was not concerned about my complaints and what all was still wrong with my bathroom. Sent guys out again to fix he problems but they are still not fixed. They just made a bigger mess out of it. Devins only worry is his losing money not the customer. I lost a lot. They damaged my tub and denied it, lost or threw away items to be used in bathroom, didnt keep any paperwork that came with any of my items tub, sink, faucets etc. for me.The great company of Kohler came out and fixed my tub for free even though they knew the workers cracked it and told me how they did it.Its a shame SECI couldnt conduct their business in this manner.Do not hire these guys

I have had a very bad experience with Southern Elite Contracting and Devin Smith! I even filed a complaint with the BBB as to the unprofessionalism and unreliability of this company. After reading some of the reviews from other disgruntled customers, I can understand why I had such a bad experience. Some of the comments I read from other customers on how they, SEC, answer their business phone with YEAH, and in most cases, for me, not answering my call at all and never receiving a call back after leaving a message does not exemplify a professional company wanting to build their business! Once I filed a complaint with the BBB, Devin responded back to the BBB and proceeded to call me a liar! (Which I am not) Devin even texted me on my personal cell phone and was extremely rude and immature in his response to a customer! The best advertising a company can get is from a satisfied customer! In the business world, the customer is always right! This is not the case with Devin! Devin was very rude, unprofessional, and unreliable in my dealings with him! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SEC NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE GOING FORWARD! I would highly suggest that anyone needing a contractor for any project research the company prior to committing to do business with them. I am at total fault for not having done this. It will never happen to me again!

He asked me to delete my previous review, & I shouldn’t have. I’m extremely disappointed to be writing this right now. I wrote a previous review from my horrible experience with an employee of this company, & then the owner, Devin, contacts me and asks me to remove it & give him a second chance. We talk on the phone extensively. He apologizes, asks for my future business, invites me to lunch, but most importantly, he promises to make up for the awful experience I’d had before. He doesn’t, honestly, he made it a whole lot worse. In the spirit of second chances, I called Devin Monday, asking if he could view a property. He said he was going out of town Tuesday & would be back next Wednesday. He said he’d call me when he got to his office that morning to see if he could squeeze it in, otherwise, it’d be next week. I said ok. He didn’t call me that day like he said he would, so I text him next Tuesday to get on his schedule for Wednesday. He said yes, requested the address & asked for a day & time Thursday or Friday, because he wouldn’t be back until Thursday. Tuesday afternoon I responded with the requested day and time. No response. Wednesday I text him again & he asked for the address. I gave it to him and again no response. Thursday, nothing. Friday morning I reached out, & again, no response. Now I know why his employee acted in the manner that he did, he leaned it from his boss. I believe in giving people second chances, but I’ve learned my lesson dealing with the CEO of SEC. Hopefully you’ll learn from my experience & won’t have one like this of your own. I’ve attached a screenshot of our texts so you can see for yourselves.

My friend recommended Southern Elite Contracting Inc. to me after they did his did his roof on insurance proceeds. I called them and that week we had Brandon come out and inspect our roof. We also had a discontinued shingle that he explained would be covered if it had storm damage. It turned out there was enough damage for the insurance to pay for a full roof replacement. Brandon took care of the whole process and made it easy. I had a new roof without ever having to deal with an adjuster by myself. They made the process a breeze and I wouldnt go anywhere else, they take care of you here! Im looking to have them do my kitchen remodel this summer.

Warning DO NOT USE SEC CONTRACTING for any repairs on your home. They were canvassing the Chapel Hill neighborhood back in April of this year and convinced me that I could get a “free” roof. I knew that was impossible but they were so persuasive that I thought I know I will have to pay the deductible, but I would be willing to pay that for a beautiful roof. I did get my beautiful roof but in turn I got a whole lot of headache for that beautiful roof. The day of the roof installation, the roofers’ trucks left enough oil on my driveway and on the street in front of my house that I had to pay to have both pressure washed. Not only that the roofers broke my transom window. I would have taken all of this in stride of doing work on my house but later that week they sent the roofers to repair my window. The roofers had no experience repairing a window they thought they could go to Home Depot and buy glass and replace my window. I called SEC and told them never to send an inexperienced person to be house ever again. Then the company sent someone out to try and remove the oil stains by hand. NOT. I finally got a company to replace the window and I billed the company. Which took about three weeks for me to get my money. At least the owner gave me 40 dollars extra to buy dinner. I heard from my insurance company that SEC had sent a bill of completion because all the work was done on my house. NOT! I told the insurance adjuster that they lied that all the work had not been completed. They were supposed to replace one gutter and repair and fix my ceiling in the family room. Needless to say someone from SEC called me and wanted to know where the check was. I told them the work was not completed and I would not release the check until the work had been completed. I called another company to have my gutter replaced and when the person arrived he noticed that the gutter had been replaced. SEC never contacted me and said there is someone at your house to replace the gutter. My husband was home and he said no one ever came to the door. It took about 3 weeks later for the ceiling to be completed. The only professional was the painter and thats because I said do not ever send anyone to my house that is not professional. A few weeks before the ceiling was done someone from SEC called me and said you should be getting another check from your insurance company for supplements because we did not “mess up” your lawn when we were at your house. SAY WHAT>THEY MESSED UP MY DRIVEWAY WITH OIL STAINS< BROKE MY WINDOW< LIED TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY> I SAID I AM NOT PAYING YOU ANOTHER PENNY. I thought this was the end of me hearing from his company after I gave them the depreciation check, yesterday I get another call about the supplemental check. Then the guy said please refer us and call us if you need anything. Give me back my sanity thats all I want from this company. SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHE AND DO NOT USE SEC CONTRACTING FROM MONROE, GEORGIA, PLEASE DO NOT REFER THEM TO ANYONE. My husband I on a regular basis have work done at our home, this has been by far the worse. I have never complained about any other contractors before and if you know me you know I am picky. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, placing this on Facebook for all my friends and family to see and asking them to repost. DISAPPOINTED IN DOUGLASVILLE!
