These guys are great! We didn’t have an appointment but needed last minute help on our ‘do it yourself’ project on my wheel bearings. They were very accommodating and got us in and out to press the bearing. I would recommend them and drive across town to work with them again.

I have taken 2 of my cars there. Each time they had openings the next day or day after. Each time they completed their work within the day specified. All of the staff is friendly and helpful.

My 2005 Ford Taurus developed a fuel leak at the fuel filter. Its also had a rattle when you start it which I suspected was the heat shield around the catalytic converter. I had them repair those 2 things as well as check fluids, belts, brakes, battery, etc. It was done when they said it would be at a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend Baker Road Automotive for all your automotive needs.

Ive been taking my VW Jetta here for maintenance and repairs for a few years now, and always leave feeling taken care of. Everyone has always been friendly and taken the time to best explain any issues and options, then do an excellent job. Awesome team, and amazing service when it comes to emergencies! Customer for life - I drive an older car so theres always something going on with it. Knowing I can count on them to help me and explain in ways I understand (but not in patronizing ways) helps me feel more comfortable every time I get in my car. They figured out something on my car that 4 other reputable shops missed in diagnostics - everything you could hope for in a repair shop.

I took my Mercedes ML350 in for a transmission and radiator flush. I also had the technician diagnose my check engine light. All work was done in a professional manner. I was given a printout of the check engine light fault code. The issue could only be fixed by a software update through Mercedes. Very pleased with the work and the price charged.

My mom has always bragged about Baker Rd. Automotive but I never tried until I had to! My car battery had died at my moms, Baker Auto had the battery I needed! Nothing but good things to say about this shop. My Acura was leaking large amounts of oil, and had some additional issues with tail lights and brake lights. Its an older car that I plan on selling soon, so the thought of having to pay significant amounts of money to get it fixed was off putting. I called this shop and Rick (I believe is who I spoke with) talked through the issues with me and made it clear that he understood my desire to minimize costs. Coming from Houston where mechanics can be predatory in up-selling, these guys restored my trust, or at least they definitely earned it. They found the issue with the leak, called back with an estimate for all the work that I was comfortable with. Prior to starting the work I remembered I had purchased a small part that would take me 20-25 minutes to replace, but would take less than 5 minutes for a pro to change. I (boldly) asked if they would mind doing it complimentary for me. They said that they will take a look at what it entails, and if it is what I said it is in terms of time for them, then it would not be a problem. Long story short, not only did they replace the part for free, but my final balance due was $50 less than what I was told... I dont think that ever happens. I was recommended this place by my father in-law, and I will happily recommend this place to all my friends/family. I drove from Minneapolis out to their shop, and will continue to do so in the future because of the fantastic customer service, quality work, and extremely reasonable pricing.

2018: Baker Road Automotive expanded its ability to provide quality automotive maintenance for German imports when new owner, Eric, a former certified Audi mechanic, took over a year ago. While still providing excellent service for American and other imports, I know my RS6 and 30 year old 911 are in good hands. Baker Road Automotives location is very convenient and their charges are reasonably priced. I have been using Baker Road Automotive for over 6 years since moving to Glen Lake and have found them friendly, caring and honest. They offer timely deals for regular maintenance on all cars. Thanks Eric and Rick for years of quality care for all my cars, German and American.5/3/21 Update: Eric and Co. did a magnificent job in replacing my Audi RS6 brake pads/lines and rotors last week in addition to two front bearings. My first experience with Baker Automotive was very positive. I came to them for a second opinion, so I know the pricing was competitive to another independent shop and much cheaper than the dealer. My repair was on a BMW leaking oil due to a cracked valve cover for a BMW. They are my new independent shop for future business.

They provided me with a loaner vehicle, but completed the work within just a few hours. The labor charge (with $20 coupon) was only $98, which I think was extremely reasonable!

I never thought Id find an affordable Audi mechanic but I definitely did here. Replaced my engine and a list of other things from exhaust,my ac compressor to thermostat and coolant reservoir for less than what other places would of charged for just the cost of the engine itself. I recommend them to anyone looking for any type of job.

Believe the reviews- they offer quality services at the best prices and go above and beyond to make things right. I’ve come here for 3 service appointments, most recently for a light that was out. I picked up my car and tested the light when I got home and it still didn’t work! I called after hours and they got me on the schedule for the next day, figured out it was a bad bulb, didn’t charge me for the new parts or service, and then offered to pick me up from work with my car! I’ve always been able to make appointments soon and they have free loaner vehicles (nothing flashy, but they drive). They have upfront pricing and always call with any additional recommendations before doing the work with zero pressure. The staff is super friendly and someone is in the office by 7 for key drop off. Their prices are better than any of the dealers or other mechanics in the area.

Hands down, the most honest, reliable and reasonably priced mechanic shop Ive ever been to. Ive been coming here for about 2 years and I actuslly look forward to coming in because I know they are not gonna try to upsell you services you dont need. In fact, Ive never had them try to upsell anything when I bring my cars in for oil changes. However, if they did let me know something is wrong, Id trust them 100%!

Absolutely one of most honest mechanics I have ever encountered. I went in believing that I was going to pay (estimate) $1990 for a new head gasket for an oil leak and they found it was simply a missing rubber plug. It cost me $214.18, to replace the plug, clean the engine and make sure that that was truly the problem. Thanks!

I want to clear up the review posted 2 years ago. Baker Road Service does NOT even offer rental services, and as long as Ive lived in this area (25 years) never has. Another business across the street does, but not Baker (and by the way, Ive rented from them and been happy with their service as well). So I appreciate ones frustrations, but please get your facts straight before you malign a business that could not have been involved!I have been completely satisfied with Rick and his team who have serviced my car as well as my sons vehicles. As one reviewer says, he analyzes the problem, explains the options and fixes what must be fixed. If there are additional issues that an owner might want to consider, those are explained but never is there pressure or false representation to up sell. I value their honest customer service and excellent workmanship!

The Google User who gave this place one star and complained about his rental truck not being available was writing about the wrong place. Baker Road Service does not rent trucks. There is a business across the street on the north side of Excelsior which does rent trucks. Perhaps the writer was confused.
