I had my carpet in my living room replaced by Mark and his crew over the Holidays. I wanted my carpet replaced during this time as I had time off from work and Mark made that possible.Came over to my place during Christmas week and gave me a fair estimate to do the job which I accepted and the following week Mark took out the old carpeting and prepped the floors for the new carpet. Marks installation specialist, Ken, converted our sows ear of a stairway runner installation into a silk purse and saved us a heap of money. The runner was seriously heavy and Ken got it tight as a drum, straight as a rifle shot and protected our fragile stairs in the process. Mark and Ken worked hand-in-glove and so were very clear about what to expect, so we had no surprises. They arrived promptly, Ken was totally organized, had a solution for every challenge, was professional and answered our questions clearly. They delivered understated elegance by the truck load. COMPLETELY OVERPAID. I met with Mark as a reference from my realtor shortly before putting my house on the market. I told him I needed the turnaround time to be within a couple of days, which he was able to accommodate. When he came to the house to take measurements for the one bedroom I needed replaced, he gave me a price of $500 all in - which was a fair market price for the job and what I had paid for the other bedroom of a similar size from another company. A day or two later, I got a call from him saying that the cost for material and install will now be $800. Unfortunately, I was not in a position to negotiate or find somebody else to do the work, so I agreed to go ahead with the install. In any other situation, I would not have entertained this bait and switch sales strategy.Mark asked me to leave a review after the install was complete. I want to be honest and say I am happy with the work that was provided but not with the way he runs a business. Buyers beware and make sure to get multiple quotes in writing. Good luck!

I first contracted Mark to help me clean carpets at a restaurant in Eagan that I managed. That was years ago, but I was so happy with his results and reliable service that it only seemed right to reach out to him again to help in my new restaurant.We dont have carpet but we have patio furniture cushions and they can get pretty smelly when you allow dogs on the patio and are serving good food every day. It was amazing how well it worked, he was able to remove most stains and they smelled like brand new.I have recommended Mark for many residential jobs and other restaurant referrals. My experience with Advanced Carpet Restoration was very un- favorable. Mark arrived and proceeded to try to raise the price for the work before he even saw the room. I had a coupon for $99 to do two bedrooms and a hall. He did about one third of one bedroom and the hall and he said that the extra spotting would bring the price up to $250. or $300. I told him no. just the spotting and agreed to pay $150 plus tax. He stayed about 20 minutes more and had me look at the area and I told him there was no difference. He said that it could not be done better.We took pictures of how bad it looked when he was done, We also have 3 witnesses, Two of them were men hired to move furniture for the cleaning.The next morning my daughter brought our shampooer to the room and re-cleaned. Now the carpet looks much better and we have new pictures.I am considering taking them to conciliation court. What they did for us was a rip off. Marlene Foote

Read the FINE PRINT is my advice! We were looking for someone to help with some carpet in our lower level, we have a puppy that had some accidents and were concerned about residual smells - we are going to pull up the carpet in the next 6 months, so werent concerned with getting it spotless, just to help with odor over the winter months. We also wanted to make sure our carpet upstairs was also free of any pet odor since that is only 6 months old. We had a coupon for 2 rooms and a hallway. When the guy did the walk through and gave us his first quote for the downstairs area, small living room, hallway and stairs was 5 xs + the coupon amount. After some back and forth, we ended up only having the small living room done and small hallway - with a deodorizer for the pet issue - but that was more than double the coupon amount. When asked - his response was the coupon says additional fees may apply. I did get my carpet cleaned, and I have no complaint with the job he did - however some of the continual comments about our high traffic area that should be watched and taken care of regularly - on carpet that is less than 6 months old and shows little sign of wear, started to feel as though his main concern was the upsell and not what was best for the customers needs. I have had my carpets cleaned by a number of carpet companies over the years - and have never paid so much for such a small space. I wont be a return customer.
