Mike is an amazing trainer and has a completely new approach to fitness. He understands the weaknesses and strengths of an individual and ensures every exercise takes that into account. I really enjoy the sessions and actually look forward to them. He pushes you to do your best but at the same time not too much to injure you in any way. Within a few weeks of getting started I feel stronger!

I am a fairly new client at Longevity Personal Training, and I am so thrilled to have been connected with Michael Romano. I have been in and out of training facilities and have done all different types of exercise throughout my entire life, but I have never felt as safe, comfortable, well taken care of in any other facility as I do at Longevity.Mike is a great communicator which is key for someone like me who likes to understand what my body needs to be doing on a technical level while exercising. The breath work that his training is centered around also has me leaving the sessions feeling more awake and energized than when I come in-- as opposed to other past experiences where I had felt like collapsing after training sessions with no real physical outcome other than exhaustion and an unsustainable exercise routine.The attention to- detail, safe range of motion, and effective exercise at longevity is something that is very difficult to come by, and I am so lucky to have found them! I started with Mike to get my body back together postpartum. It’s been great! He has a really insightful approach to personal training - he actually knows what he’s going so the training is precise rather than brutal. I leave the sessions feeling stronger and healthier than when I started, and I don’t dread going like I did when I did personal training at other places in the past. Highly recommend but please don’t take my time slot :)

I worked with Mike Romano. Mike is a true gentleman. Always pleasant, professional and helpful. He has been doing this a long time (almost 30 years). I have a back pain issue, so I was reassured when he told me that his goal is to make sure that I walk out feeling better than I walked in--EVERYTIME. He delivered on that promise. He has a unique method of getting your core working using breathing and subtle positioning. It does not feel like work, but it works! Highly recommended. He is also a good conversationalist. So your regular unwinding can also happen as he will check in with you on how you are feeling and doing.
I love this place. I’ve worked with other trainers, tried Orange Theory (and place like it), and I find Mike’s approach to be more personalized and in a more comfortable setting. His knowledge, expertise and approach to being healthy as well as fit is refreshing and I loved it! Easily one of the best (and friendliest) trainers I’ve ever worked with!!

Training with Mike at Longevity was key to my ankle injury recovery. He is an absolute pro and has deep knowledge about all-things human body mechanics. I have been dealing with chronic pain for many years. This prohibited me from working out. I was given Mike’s name by my integrative doctor. She highly recommended him because he dealt with people a lot like me. Not only did he give me a thorough evaluation but he also gave me a complementary first session so that I could see whether or not it was a good fit. His method was different than what I was used to... It Incorporated my breathing with all my movements. I could tell immediately this way of working out would help me and almost 3 months later I am stronger and moving better than before. As important, working with Mike on my progress is a pleasure. At 69 years of age, and dealing with significant knee joint pain, I had slowed down quite a bit over the past several years. Add to that retirement and then Covid lock downs and my activity level was at an all time low. As you might expect, my weight increased, my muscles atrophied and my knees got worse. I realized I had to take some form of immediate remedial action and that’s when my daughter told me about LongevityPersonalFitnessNJ.com.Realizing I couldn’t attend sessions in person till Covid was fully under control, I called Longevity and spoke with Mike Romano, a professional trainer with 33 years of experience as a personal trainer about the possibility of remote sessions. Mike understood my situation, knee challenges and all and I learned that since Covid, most of his clients were remote. After a free assessment and free first session to get to know what my needs and current physical limitations were, Mike put together a program where we meet via zoom twice a week. I get a zoom link via email a few minutes before my scheduled session starts, I click the link and we’re off to the races. In truth, my initial expectations were low given my status going in and attempting to do the program remotely via zoom. But in only three week / two sessions per week, I experienced an immediate benefit including increased range of movement, improved balance and enhanced strength and stamina. The sessions graduate at a pace I can handle using nothing more than some hand weights and highly effective resistance exercises coached by Mike. We get right down to business each session and always get a lot done. I finish the session feeling invigorated, energized, accomplished and looking forward to the next session. In fact, my wife has commented on how upbeat I’ve gotten despite these Covid times and my knee problems which are definitely improving week by week. Mike is a great trainer who knows exactly what he’s doing and how to achieve real progress. A good guy who takes a genuine interest in your objectives. Ive worked out with the trainer Mike at the gym for 6 years. He has taught me an incredible amount - from using my core properly to nutrition to relaxation. Ive even applied what I learned to improve my long-distance biking and my golf game. Mostly, we work on back health and posture. He knows when to push me, and when to rein me in. At 56 years old, I can honestly say Im now in the best shape of my life thanks to Mike.

I am extremely pleased with the personal training that my family and I have received from Susie, Joe and Dave. We have been going to longevity for years. The trainers consider our individual strengths and weaknesses as well as our aches and pains to make the perfect 30 minute exercise session. Emphasis is always placed on feeling good. I love that the gym is an inviting, caring, friendly and non-competitive environment.

The entire staff make each session an enjoyable experience. At 84 years of age I am concerned about maintaining strength and performance while avoiding injury. Joe does an excellent job of providing a program which accomplishes my objectives.
Among the best part of my week. Mike tailors his approach to each individual, pushing them as far they can go, while methodically avoiding injury. I exercised brashly for many years; Longevity has taught me to exercise smartly. These sessions have made me more flexible, stronger, and more confident about movement. What I have learned from Mike at Longevity is unlike what I have seen and felt from other trainers. He gives you all of his attention and is dedicated to having you feel strong without getting hurt. He works not to make it burn but for you to be in good form, efficient, and organized, while gaining strength, balance and coordination. From a dance and movement background, I am impressed by his understanding of developmental movement and getting back to basics. He understands that getting better from that place has a more lasting impact. He is constantly doing research and doesnt give me drills, but tailors the work to what I need. Mike is the most knowledgeable trainer I have ever worked with, each session is an education in physiology, strength, coordination and balance. I’m amazed by the results I’ve seen from 30 min sessions twice a week. The whole staff is very friendly and I always look forward to my workouts.

After I turned 50 a few years back, I decided it was time to shift away from pure weight training, which I had been doing for 35 years, and to focus on flexibility, balance and mobility.I turned to Dave Githens at Longevity because he has many years of training experience and a whole lot of patience to make sure that I do things the right way.My three high school age sons also did athletic performance training with Dave, which he customized to suit their sport and position.Its really nice to workout at a place where the staff is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly!
