Hugh is very honest and professional with his customers. He always focuses on the goals of the customer, not just to make a sale. Hughs experience in the automotive industry really sets him apart from other shops in the area.
Its hard for me to trust people to work on my car but Hugh was great. With a lack of spare time, I decided to take it over to Hi Speed to get some track prep work done. He did the work at a reasonable price and in a timely manner and made sure to check on anything else that could be a problem as it was my first BMW and I had limited knowledge of what to look for. The has been on quite a few track days and driven hard with no hiccups or problems. Would highly recommend Hugh/Hi Speed.
Simply the best! They went through my track car over the winter and turned it into a full blown race car. They did everything from custom suspension work, aero, differential build, and fender flares to fit wide wheels. Hugh provides coaching and track support. It is a good feeling showing up to a race weekend knowing you have one of the best built cars in the paddock.
These guys are the best! I have taken my BMWs to them for years and have always received great service. Now that Im once again doing autocross/trackday events with my older M3, Hi Speed Motorsports has helped me set up the car to where its an animal on the track, and enjoyable on the street. Extremely knowledgable and helpful too.
An ex employee (now I see why ex) of the shop recommended this shop on a forum to drum up business. I decided to give them a try for some regular maintenance, installation of new suspension and an alignment. When I arrived, owner called Hugh was impatient and didnt listen to my concerns about the car and the work that they were about to perform. He nearly laughed at my questions, concerns and requests, but I had driven there already so decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He took the car into their shop and all doors closed as they played loud heavy metal and all I could hear was banging of tools etc... Not a single window to see what they were doing. The outside window looking into their shop was covered with newspaper probably so nobody could look in. Several hours later he emerged and said the car was ready. I asked for a print out (as all shops give you) of the before and after results of the alignment (which I paid for) and Hugh once again dismissed my question with a grin and said he doesnt do that and its not necessary. He then took the car for a test drive and when he returned he quickly ran to get a tool to tighten the wheel lug nuts while the car was on the floor! Did he forget to tighten the lug nuts and took my car for a drive? I took the car home and immediately noticed strange handling issues wuth the car. I called Hugh and explained but he refused to recognize any issue, started yelling at me and said he was busy and to call the next day. I called the next day and the day after and left voice messages and no answer. Also no answers to emails. I took the car to a more reputable shop to check alignment as suggested by other mechanics I spoke to and it was TOTALLY OFF SPEC and OUT OF RANGE! as demonstrated by a print out that they did produce without me even asking. The alignment numbers set in by Hugh at Hi Speed Motor Sports where not even within the spec ranges, it was as if a monkey had aligned the car. Hugh refused to take responsibility for this. I then decided to check the whole car for all the work I had paid for at Hi Speed Motor Sports. I also discovered that they hadnt replaced all the screws that hold the front bottom plate at the front end of the car to protect the engine and streamline airflow. The plate uses 8 screws and only 3 were there, it was basically hanging by a thread! Do not take your car here, Hugh will not treat you well and will deliver a terrible job for which hell charge you top dollar.
They fixed what others couldnt. They are passionate about their work.
Simply the best. Dealers and other shops will try to screw you. Hughe does it right and doesnt play games.
