Stopped in today to look at appliances for a build outside of their service area and they were fantastic about giving detailed answers to all of our questions about each type of appliance and the different lines. In spite of not being able to deliver to our new house, they really went above and beyond in giving us their opinions on the various products. Great in-store experience.

7/29/21 - UPDATE - Since this post, I received a call from Neala to address the concerns below, further. I will update this review with addl info. I am updating from 1 star to 3, as I believe receiving the call was very professional on their part. NOTE: the Speed Queen machine is still a 1 star in my opinion, at this time.A year ago we purchased a Speed Queen set. We replaced a 25 year old washer and dryer. Clothes that we wash in the Speed Queen - especially black clothing - end up with white chalk marks on the freshly washed clothes. We did call Brennan & MacKay for suggestions and were told that using softener requires the extra rinse cycle (we got a new washer like you get a new toilet - to save water.) Over the past we have tried: The extra rinse cycle did not help. We stopped using softener entirely - did not help. We used less detergent - did not help. We changed to warm water washes - did not help. We tried liquid and power detergents - dissolving it in water - did not help. We tried the auto fill water levels and manual levels- did not help. We tried less clothes - did not help. We tried more clothes - did not help. Its been a busy year. I recently contacted the MFG and got the same suggestions - not helpful. We did not have any of these issues with the 25 year old washer (other than wanting to conserve water.) Since I just washed clothes and the black clothes are marked yet again...I am done with this washer. I am writing this review. We will replace with washer and purchase at another business since buying from an independent dealer made no difference in this matter.

Bought a new washing machine since the old one broke. Couldnt have had a better experience from sales, installation up to operation! These folks are the best and the washer is whisper quiet. Im so happy I went with them over the non-personal big box store!!I cant say enough good things about this entire experience.

I bought new appliances from Brennan & Mackay in Milford in 2020. I had just moved to the area and everyone I asked recommended them because of the excellent after purchase service of your appliances. I worked with Tommy to buy my appliances. I did it all online (text and email). I basically gave him my specs and he gave me quality options. Saved a ton of time shopping, reading reviews etc. Part of their business is servicing appliances so they don’t sell the junk brands. You are basically buying from a curated list of quality products. Delivery was awesome - very friendly, efficient. I’m a very happy customer!

My family owned an appliance business in the 60s and 70s and I spent a lot of time there growing up. Somehow I ended up buying my appliances in big box stores my adult life. That ends now. Brennan and Mackay embody the values of a family owned business that cares about its customers.

My wife and I recently moved to Peterborough and our real estate agent, Dan Petrone from the Bean Group recommended Brennan and Mackay if we ever needed appliances.Sure enough, once we tried the oven in the electric range, it did not work! So we drove out to Brennan and Mackay and met with Tommy to help us find a new range. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helped us find the perfect range for our new home.Delivery was included, as well as set-up and removal of our old range. When Neal and Tyler arrived a week later, they were easy-going, professional and courteous. It was installed in no time and we got a run-through on how the range worked. They even made sure it was level! Awesome!If you are looking for a new appliance, just make one call --- to Brennan and Mackay!

Can’t state how happy we were with Brennan & MacKay’ big city knowledge within a small town setting. We love our new stove - that goes without saying BUT I had two additional requests. Switch out our older kitchen refrigerator with a newer one in the basement - “ sure thing Mam - not a problem” and switch the door openings from left to right “we can do that - not a problem “. Then they took the time to explain the stove’s initial startup to me and picked everything up as they left including shutting doors and turning lights off. Where do you find precision service like that in this day and age? At Brennan & MacKay’s of course.

The staff are always friendly and always great to deal with. We just purchased our second appliance in a year from Brennan and Mackay and will continue to give them our business as we update our appliances.

We purchased Bosch gas range and Bosch over-the-range microwave, both black stainless, on August 31, 2020. Due to circumstances (covid 19) beyond anyones control, the appliances were backordered.The range was delivered on December 31, 2020, just in time for our covid-bubble to welcome 2021.Matt, Tyler, Neal, and Cody were so courteous and very careful in our home. The installation was flawless, including taking time to make sure the range was perfectly level.They also each took time to play with our kitty, Teyla. (That shows great character to me.)When they left the house, there was no evidence that anyone had been here, other than having the new range, which I love.Fast forward to May 14, 2021. Our microwave FINALLY came in! (Still, covid 19s fault.)This time it was Matt and Cody who installed the microwave. Once again, they were so conscientious of the surroundings. They did a great job with the installation, not leaving a trace that they were here. Teyla enjoyed their attention once again, as did they hers.We have already recommended Brennan & MacKay to many people.We will continue to purchase appliances as needed from Brennan & MacKay.

I was blown away by the service at Brennan and MacKays, it was the kind of good old-fashioned shopping experience my grandparents talked about and I did not think I would ever see.Having had a very bad delivery experience with best buy, coupled with my brother having a bad delivery experience with Home Depot, I went on the hunt for a local appliance store.I tried two different Barons stores. The first Barons had a salesperson who was patronizing and kept talking to my husband instead of me. The second Barons, who I called to find out about details on a particular oven, was rude. I coild hear him making negative comments to another employee about my questions.In desperation, I called a store with good reviews down in Massachusetts. The man was super nice but apologize that they did not deliver all the way up past Manchester. But, he said he knew of another company in Milford that used the same distributor and had a good reputation.That company was Brennan and MacKays. I called and was immediately impressed by the thoughtful answers to my questions, the knowledge and the willingness to work with me to find the right oven during covid-19 shortages. I love my new oven and will only be buying my future appliances from Brennan and Mackays. Please buy from them too, so they stay in business and we can keep this wonderful local store thriving. 😉Oh yes, and the delivery guys were locals, very polite, helpful and detail oriented. They tested the stove and oven, leveled it perfectly and made sure I had no.questions.I had a technician later install a range hood, and he couldnt have been more friendly and knowledgeable. He even gave me tips to get my dishwasher, which I did not buy from them, running better.

I recently bought a replacement gas stove from B& K. I had been at the store off and on for at least a year., window shopping, comparing different models’ features and costs. They were always friendly and gracious, answering questions w/out pressuring me to buy.B&K is in a warehouse cooperative w other locally owned appliance stores, so their prices are competitive w the big box stores. Plus, they provide repair service. AND you have the satisfaction of supporting local business.

Easy staff to deal with. Got multiple quotes on product lines. Was looking at a few options and sales staff helped. Pointed me to more cost effective units with features we wanted. No pressure here and purchased warranties for some appliances. Great to have a local store versus others for support needs.

I can’t say enough about them the customer service that I receive from sales and service department is very good and they go above and beyond to help me with my orders and delivery is very good as well the guys put everything in place and uncrate the appliances take the shipping boxes away. I maintain 104 apartments and we remodel kitchens on the older units so all I have to do is call they have all my model numbers for ordering makes it easier for me. I’ll pick up some of the appliances for a swap and they let me drop off the old one for disposal who does that they do I’ve had lousy delivery service and ordering problems from the big box store we use to use damages on the appliances trying to give me discounts it I except the appliances going into a new kitchen think not got management to go lock at Brennan’s and the appliance problem was solved so if you manage apartment complex or in the process of a kitchen project or shopping for new appliances I highly recommended Brennan and MaKay their honest and will treat you well the experience is well worth your time to shop there

Couldnt be more satisfied with our experience! Our refrigerator recently went off the rails and they did everything they could to try and fix it as quick as possible, even when the potential problem kept changing. Unfortunately our fridge had chilled its last drink and it was time to replace it. Fortunately, we showed up to their store and were given amazing help in choosing a fridge that would be best price, size and function for us. They truly care about customer satisfaction and were great to have help us through it all.

The process was easy. They answered every question I had. Installation was the following week. On request the installers wore masks and were respectful. Took less than 30 minutes. I highly recommend this outfit.

A friend suggested I buy my new appliances here to keep it local we walked in at 9:30 this morning expecting a pleasant experience I had my kitchen plan with me to my surprise the young man in the show room was completely disrespectful,talked down to us when I told him what we needed and that I had a professional kitchen plan he wasn’t interested and said you tell me what you want, we are in our 60s and I understand people are frustrated these days but this guy was out of line.needless to say after 10 minutes of his bad attitude we politely opted to bail, off to Lowe’s we went fridge,dishwasher,wine fridge,stove,washer and dryer all of which are back ordered but a pleasant experience . So happy with our experience here! We purchased multiple appliances and the customer service was amazing! They measured, coordinated packages that matched and would fit in our kitchen - and emailed us links and quotes. Their delivery and installation was quick and easy, on time and was not a window of time (it was a set time of day). They even let us return an accessory we did not need. Thought we’d pay more at a smaller store, but we didn’t! Plus, even a small premium would have been worth it for the customer service and convenience.

Sought advice for a high volume kitchen exhaust fan system. Julien was very helpful and worked with me to ensure I considered all the important factors. When we had settled on the system, he ordered the parts and gave me an ETA. Everything came in on or before time. Great service!

A friend recommended Brennan & MacKay to us when we needed a new dryer. My wife called and spoke to Julien who was happy to discuss different options and prices at length. She didn’t expect that, figured he would rattle off a few brands they carry and tell us we needed to come and look for ourselves. We went down the next day and met with Julien. He was very pleasant and more knowledgeable about all the dryers we looked at than any other appliance salesman I had ever worked with. We settled on a dryer and explained we needed it delivered in a small truck as to get to our home the truck would have to go under a bridge with low clearance. No problem he said, and no extra charge! That alone was a very pleasant surprise as many other businesses charge quite a bit for this ‘special service.’ A delivery date and time was set up in a few days. They delivered at the appointed time and two very polite and professional young men took our old dryer away and quickly installed the new one. We will definitely go back the next time we need an appliance. We would highly recommend you check out Brennan & MacKay the next time you are looking for any appliance. We have had good experiences with this company in the past. Have bought a washer, stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The last 4 were all purchased in 2015. Recently the dishwasher stopped working and I called for a repair, explained the problem and scheduled an appointment. The following week the repair person showed up with a new motor to install. I expressed surprise that a 2 year old appliance would need this kind of repair, and the answer was, “well, that’s how appliances are nowadays”. $243.00 later I ran a couple of loads through and realized there was no heat coming from the dishwasher. Not through the cycling and not for the heated dry. The water was lukewarm at best and the dishes were cold and wet at the end of the cycle. I called again and spoke to the same repair person. He suggested maybe the problem was that I needed to use jet dry, and that not all the cycles run hot water. I tried to convince him that NONE of the cycles were running hot water, but he still wasn’t convinced. So I am waiting another week for him to come back. I have to wonder how much this visit will cost, and why a 2 year old dishwasher is having these issues, and why I have to convince the repair person there is a problem?

Our fridge died the day before Thanksgiving. They delivered a loaner fridge same day to get us through the holiday and then delivered our new fridge a week later. This is the kind of 5 star service you get when you buy from a local business. Big box stores would never have given us this kind of personalized service.

Our family was in the market for a new dishwasher, we decided to go to Brennan & Mackay. The man in the store was highly knowledgeable and honest. Instead of trying to convince us to buy a $900 machine, he sold us the $20 part to fix our current one. We also like Brennan & Mackays for the free boxes (the kids love em). We had ordered a refrigerator from a competing appliance dealer and when the order was placed I explained to the sales person that I had limited times to be home due to my work schedule. When I was called about the delivery of the appliance there was no flexibilty as to the delivery and was told about their three hour delivery window. I cancelled the order and called Brennan and Mackay who was very amendable to work around my work schedule for delivery. The delivery was very professional and timely. I highly recommend Brennan and Mackay and would definitely purchase from them again.

First time calling, asking for service, the lady who answered automatically told me my washer was done and offered to sell me a new one. I dont know who she was or if she was a service tech.
