These people are thieves. I reserved a car for $350, and on the day, they told me they had no cars. And they kept my money!The man running the shop was absolutely indifferent. Hertz is phonetically accurate, because all they do is cause hurt.
Reserved an SUV to go one way for our move, and the day of we get here and they say they have nothing for us. They also offered no additional help or contact info. Would never book with Hertz again.

Gave my van away cause my flight was delayed, tried to give me 2 door v8 charger for 5 hour drive. fixed that part by giving me a truck. dropped the truck off early but because they were short staffed and closed they charged me a late return fee. now no one is answering the phone.... will be using enterprise from now on.
Dont rent from this location. We use Hertz a lot in our travels and have for many years, but this is the lone bad experience we had. The issues are all related to the branch manager, Ryan Tebbs. I recommend downtown or Draper, theyre quite lovely and hold up the company standards.

Hertz Midvale is doing something wrong. The man who helped us today, or rather didnt help us until I wouldnt take being turned away as a resolve, was impatient, unfriendly, had poor customer service, and was stubborn to assist. My husbands vehicle was stolen, and to have this kind of experience was disappointing.We needed guidance, advice on next steps, and could only hope for a shred of empathy considering we were trying to digest that our vehicle was just taken. Not the attitude we had to deal with. Take your business somewhere else.
I have rented about 10 cars from hertz this year, well over that on our company account with them. I will never book with them again. This is the second time in a row they let me book something to tell me they don’t have my car and then treat me like an idiot for expecting a car. They just can’t seem to get their act together. Enterprise is just so much easier and a better use of our company time.
No wonder they are short staffed nobody wants to work with the front desk guy. Rude and not helpful at all. Avoid this place!!

Fortunately I had a paid reservation through Hotwire 3 days in advance. Unfortunately I wanted to use this Hertz location in Midvale. When I went to pick up my premium car Friday morning I was told they had 33 reservations and only 4 cars available and I could take my pick (none were premium cars). They were turning away anyone who had a confirmed reservations within 48 hours. They did reserve for someone else the one car that someone had booked directly with them that I was willing to take. No dice. Rude, they wanted to turn me away also, even with an advanced paid reservation but that didnt matter to them. I just happened to be the second person through the door that morning and a few cars were available. Im elderly, wanting to visit my grandchildren in Boise and no other alternatives. They were not notifying people of the situation until they came for their car then turning them away. This location should be closed. This is worse than poor customer service. Do not trust that your car will be available for you.
Do not under any circumstances rent from this location. Read the reviews. The branch manager is not having a good year. Feel free to contact me for details. (Hertz is in bankruptcy and many of its problems likely stem from that situation)

Well they lied to me several different times about price. I had an estimate for just under $800. With just under $40 a day to keep it extra. 2 weeks later I have been billed over $2,600. Also found out I paid almost $800 for 2 weeks of insurance. Justin sure knows how to RAM it home!
Super sketchy place. They sent me a bunch of weird, incorrect receipts for random amounts of money and then overcharged my card. The branch seems to be closed now.
Everything was fine until I sat for 45 minutes thinking someone would show up. We werent told the office would be closed when we needed to turn the car in. They should have given us the alternative address to deliver the car.
After more or less positive reviews, I am glad I had a very positive experience, both check in and check out was quick and easy. The vehicle provided was amazing, almost brand new, and loaded with features. A+
I called again and again. Nobody answered the phone. When I got there, only one person was doing multiple task at the same time. He was the one cleaning the car and also at the desk. I understood why no one could answered me. Hertz should have more employee to provide better quality service to their customer.
BAIT AND SWITCH! AVOID THIS PLACE!I went online and reserved a Chevy Suburban sized (Full Size SUV) because I needed the room to pick up my daughter (and her belongings) from college. The day before Im supposed to leave, they tell me They can only get me a Tahoe sized SUV, but Ill have to pay the same price. And since I paid online ahead of time, I cant cancel and get a refund and go with someone else to get the right sized vehicle. NEVER rent a vehicle from this place.
Im getting a rental because of an accident, I was waiting on hold for 40 min, just to tell them when my car is going in and they hung up on me at 5 when they closed. Horrible service.

Not great. Reserved a car earlier this week for pick up on Friday. Was called by Hertz at 3:30 pm on Friday and told they were overbooked and that theyd call again soon to see if they could find a solution. Never received that second call. Had to rent from a different company at the airport. Thanks for nothing Hertz. You were my go-to. Not anymore. Not ever again. Im probably going to be told Im out my $75 tomorrow, too.Follow up: a week later, nothing. Called Tuesday and spoke with a nice lady who said she’d make some calls. No follow up. Haven’t heard a thing. Buyer beware... or just go across the street to Enterprise. You get what you pay for.Follow up #2: A month later, still nothing and they have no record that I ever called in the first place. Dont come here. Understaffed and under equipped.
Great experience. In and out quick. I had a reservation and went in asking a ton of questions. The guy was patient and answered all my questions and listened to me very well. He had me out of there in 5 min. Car wasnt perfectly clean but he took pictures of the condition on his own with out my direction. Awesome experience
After reading so many negative reviews, I was a little hesitant but they had the best rates. I had nothing but positive experiences there. Algi was very kind and helpful, and took care of everything. Despite us returning the car messy (a week of hiking in dirt), he told me not to worry about it, and thats why I pay someone to clean it! I mentioned all the negative reviews. He told me that theyve been working hard at fixing it, and made some changes; all good ones, apparently. Id recommend them!
Came here because for multiple week rental the rates were significantly less than airport or downtown Salt Lake. 20 minute / $30 Uber was worth it. Easy in and out. Would do it again

Love Hertz and being a gold member. This office is very friendly and their staff have accommodated me and my family on numerous occasions. They do pick up and will call ahead if anything changes and are very flexible with returns. If youre a gold member, check out takes maybe 5 minutes, sometimes less. I highly recommend Hertz and this office for any rentals.
Service was amazing!!! Weve gone multiple times and are always treated well. The people are very personable and get everything ready for you to get on the road, as well as checked over when you return quickly while you wait in the cool building.

We had a very fine experience with this location. They had a couple of choices of vehicles that were in the category we rented. The customer service was excellent both when I picked up the car and when I returned it. We were in and out quickly. We rented online and had no problems.

Office hours say 8.00am and we arrived at 8.10 to pick up our 8.30 scheduled rental and the office was closed. We waited in the rain and the employee didn’t show up until 9.00!!! He then spent 5 mins outside setting up a tent instead of taking care of us. When we asked why he wasn’t there at 8, he said he had to go pick up a car for someone else. I’m sorry Hertz, but you can’t list your hours as 8.00 and let people reserve cars but not have someone at your office. If he is the only employee at that location you need to find a different solution. He didn’t care that we had waited for an hour and didn’t even offer to give us a curtesy discount or even an apology. When we said we would get an Uber and go elsewhere he simply got up and left. People - forget Hertz and go to Enterprise. I have never been disappointed there. Even at the times things didn’t run smoothly with my reservation, they went above and beyond to take care of me. Hertz, you will never have my business again.

Disclaimer: I reserved the car the night before from the website that claimed that the location had not just the car I requested, but cars.Office hours listed at 8am and no one showed up until 815. Then I was told that not only did they not have the car I requested but they did not have ANY cars available.They kindly located a car downtown (not the car I requested but similar enough) ordered me a Lyft and shipped me downtown. What should have been a 5 minute transaction has now stretched to over an hour which has made me late to work.1 star for lack of coordination between corporate and local.2 star because they did what they could to fix their incompetence.Car rental from an airport: goodCar rental from a local office: only if you have a few hours to waste or want to be late to work.
The office is not clean, hardly any parking, especially when there is snow. Manager never returns calls!! They informed me that I would be charged $49.00 as a pending charge. My card was run 3 different times for 3 different amounts. One of the charges was for extra insurance which I stated I did not want. That manager or worker fixed it and stated that the extra insurance would be removed. I thought all was well but almost 3 weeks later, they charged by card for insurance charges. This is a BAD experience. I have rented from other car rentals and NEVER had these issues or bad customer service. They are out for themselves. All offices may not be this way but the office on 6895 S State Street, Midvale, Utah is awful.

I’ve had the worst experience with this Hertz location. I was charged for something I shouldn’t have been and have called 5 times to get it reversed. They keep telling me they will call me back and if there’s any problems and that I should get my money back within the week. It’s been 4 months and no money. Now they claim they can’t find me in the system. I will never rent with Hertz again
I never leave reviews because I work in customer support and understand that things happen. However, this was a terrible experience. First, they were delayed coming to pick me up even though I scheduled it in advance and everything was supposed to be ready. I sat there for about 35 minutes waiting. Not a huge deal it happens. Then the gentleman went on to tell me how unflattering my drivers license picture was. I found it uncomfortable and rude. Again, I let this go. My car was not cleaned even though I had it reserved. There were stains on the seats, food crumbs on the floor of the car and it was not washed. I also let this go and took the car. The thing that prompted me to write this review is because they were supposed to split the bill with the company fixing my car because there was an issue with the repair which caused a delay. I rented the car the end of November and was just now billed and they billed me the full amount instead of splitting the invoice which I spelled out for them when returning the car. This isnt what I agreed to. I called Hertz and went through their terrible phone prompts to get to a lady that told me there was nothing they could do now that it was closed and charged to me. They cant go back and reopen the invoice so I have to take more time to go to the repair shop to see if they can possibly reimburse me for the fees. This was a terrible experience all the way through. I would never recommend Hertz or this branch.
Hertz is unreliable and won’t right their wrongs. I was in a jam and called from the mechanic’s shop to make a reservation so I could pick up my kids from daycare. When I arrived at my designated time There was no car available and I was 7th in line for a car to come in. I was almost stranded with 1% battery left after spending $16 on Uber to get to the Hertz location. When I spoke to customer service they said they couldn’t do anything about it and tried to offer me a $12 discount that was only eligible on minimum 5 day rentals.I thought Hertz was a reputable company but now I know they are completely lacking integrity.I had even purchased my car from a hertz sale lot and had recommended them. They sure changed my mind. I will actively warn any one considering doing business with Hertz. This company as a whole is a bad apple.

Extremely upset with this experience. Had to pick up our car from one of their other locations, received a dirty car, had to stop on our journey to fill the coolant. Had trouble with the brakes but none of the hertz locations had any available cars in our area. Had to drive the car with questionable brakes over an hour in the opposite direction to get a different car, much smaller and not what we paid for. Waste of our entire day so far. Avoid Hertz if you can.

We used Hertz for a rental car when we travelled back east. We were given a smoking car after requesting non smoking. After trying to trade for a non smoking they gave us another smoking car and told us they dont have non smoking cars but they clean them so well we shouldnt be able to smell it. Needless to say it was late at night and they gave us no other option than driving a car smelling like smoke all week. After complaining on the review, I got a response two months later saying sorry I hope you use us again so we can show better customer service. No thanks!
Rented an SUV, the front number is taped on, dings all over. We I complained, they offered me choices that did not work for what I needed. Staff was supportive, but in the end I am very displeased. Not to the level of quality I would have expected from Hertz.
If I could give zero stars I would. Literally some of the worst (if not THE worst) customer service Ive EVER received. They sent me on a wild goose chase to get a rental car for an accident that I was in because none of their agents knew what could and couldnt be done. Also the manager Brandy basically said it was not their fault that the insurance company didnt update their system and charged my card without authorization. Even though there were notes everywhere. And since her office was already paid from both my insurance company and my credit card she refused to help saying it was the insurance companys responsibility not theirs.

When we got the car it was dirty and not cleaned out at all. We had bald tires and it was winter time when we got it. Driving in the snow with their car was dangerous. The tire went flat just after sitting in our parking lot over night after a snow storm and they charged us $75 for them to call AAA to put the spare on even after i had asked them if we would be charged for it and they told me We wouldn’t be. So there went our grocery money. I dropping the car back off and I left feeling angry and ripped off and stressed out.
If I could give a zero I would, for this location...as far as Hertz is concerned I still will continue to rent from them, but this location is horrible, customer service is non existent,in fact rude... unwilling to resolve an issue with an overcharge, an issue that was resolved through the Corp. Customer service line in minutes.i really wish I would have taken a second and read some of these reveiws....
If I could give one star I would. Based off my credit score I cant rent a car?! But the rep told me he has seen people with lower scores than mine get a car. If the money is there. There should be absolutely no issue. Welcome to the bullshit laws of America now.
This review is from my father.We have a had really bad experience with renting a car from this company. The car we rented was dirty when we got there. We were in a hurry and so my dad had to clean it by himself later. The breaks were squeaky. We left an important item in the car as we left it there at closing. In the morning my dad called first thing and nobody answered (he also called a bit after he left the place). Finally they answered 15 minutes after they opened and they say someone has all rented the car. We left it at closing and then rented it before answering our phone calls. They had no note that someone had taken this very important item out (which means the car was not cleaned AGAIN). The man on the telephone was not helpful at all. Its ridiculous how they have interacted with us.

What a condescending check in employee. not only did he talk to me like a 6th grader he implied that I would do damage the vehicle. When I pointed out there was no spare tirehis cavalier attitude was just too much. He said many of hertzs vehicle come without spare tires and it was no big deal (oh really unless you get a flat in middle of no cell service andcant call roadside assist) and besides this was the only vehicle left in this category--take it or leave. WORST ATTITUDE EVER. Rent from the DRAPER location its the best.

Tried to hit me with bogus charges, they missed my pick up and stranded me at the body shop, Enterprise stepped up and took care of me, horrible experience with this Hertz. Avoid if you can, its a nightmare to deal with them.
I never love renting a car, but here was as neutral of an experience as Ive had anywhere. Folks werent too pushy on the add ons, though like anywhere, they always try.
VERY VERY VERY poor customer service. I wouldnt recommend this location to anyone. Just returned my car two days ago and was charged a 300$ cleaning fee for no reason at all. Car was not cleaned & detailed when I picked it up but I left it spotless and I even wiped it down before I returned it and filled the gas tank like I was told. Called customer service and they said it looks like they had to take the car to be detailed after I dropped it off at the collision place they had me leave it where my vehicle was being fixed. 300$ for detailing ? I wasnt supposed to be charged anything because State farm was taking care of it and now I randomly have a 300$ charge taken out of my card. The staff was very shady and unprofessional here I am very disappointed and also now out of 300$ until I can speak to them on Monday. NOBODY GO HERE PLEASE, & AFTER READING ALL THESE OTHER COMMENTS IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS JUST HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS .

If I could rate lower I would. This company particularly this location is so dishonest and unethical it is ridiculous. Our collision shop arranged a rental with them they added so many unexpected fees that we clearly opted out after speaking with an inept manager who didnt even direct us to the proper channels and gave us the run around. I tell everyone to avoid this company like the plague. Simply put unprofessional and lousy customer service.
I called to book a car and was told that they dont do that lol, they guy said he cant guarantee me a car that they will call me if they have a car but it can be hours or days before I even get a car .funny thing is they had called me and left me a voice mail to call 24 hr before so I can reserve a car hahahaha this company is a joke. plus on their website they clearly have a way to book a car lazy people that rather just tell you that they cant help you instead of actually doing their job, i decided to rent a car else where, they will only continue to loose customer. Would like to have more to say but it took forever for someone to pick up the phone only to placed on hold right away. After being on hold for over nine minutes, I finally gave up.
If a person has bad credit Hertz will not rent to you. The website when making a reservation should tell you that right up front instead of getting everything arranged going down to pick up your car and then to tell you no.

After attempting to reserve a car for two days, being sent a location with no staff present, and then being told they didnt even have any cars available, and wouldnt for at least a day, I have to and went with Enterprise who got me a car right away.
I picked up my rental that I reserved online. they said if I add damage protection my total for rental would go from $176.40 to $232.31 i even asked so that will be my total charge they said yes besides the $200 charge that will be credited back well when all said and done my bank statement comes and i got charged for $232.31 and $176.40 so i call they say have to call 1-800 number customer service says no the $232.31 was for the protection only and i said no we went over that and they said total for whole rental was only $232.31 1-800 customer rep. say oh they dont know about the online portion i already paid at pick up location they quoted me for just the extra coverage and i argued no we clearly went over the original amout was $213.18 out door if i add extra coverage it will go to $232.31 so i agreed hertz made the mistake and will not fix it claim nothing they can do about charges already made whatever to me im out some cash to them a customer plus bad review all over every social media site im on so most likey aloss of future customers as well not to mention i rent a lot of cars and will never og back..

Terrible Experience. Go to Enterprise.I was referred to by State Farm after getting hit by their client. They came and picked me up and I didnt havent a debit on me. Asked if they could give me a ride to get it and he said no. He told me to go get my car from the collision center and go handle my business and come back.I told him that not feasible because they already started working on it. This was a 2 week rental they lost all over a ride. Poor business practice.I switched to Enterprise and they took care of me no questions asked.
