My 7 year old son started about a month ago. He loves it. We are seeing changes in him at home. Like that he is learning to Focus and have balance also learning respect for himself and other. His coach is amazing.

I’ve been a student for around 6 months now in the adult classes. I have learned many Mixed Martial Arts skills and I am confident to be prepared for any situation just in case I need to use self defense. I have made many friends and I’ve created strong relationships with the coaches! Black belt training is really convenient and it’s fun to spar at your own paste. My strength and conditioning have improved so much through the time I’ve been taking classes. I would highly recommend Cosens Mixed Martial Arts for anyone.

As a life skill based academy, Cosens teaches beyond MMA techniques. The sense of teamwork, respect, focus, and confidence has most definitely grown in our child. ALL of Cosens’ staff are a knowledgeable and respectful team- always willing to listen and help in anyway they can. We look forward to them being positive role models throughout our child’s life. The establishment is always nice and clean, too! Our daughter loves going to every class. Attending Cosens has been one of the best decisions for our child, hands down.

Our 5 year old son with ADD/ADHD has been going since February of this year. We wanted him to join the academy to help with his focus, as well as build upon other life skills. Coach D and Coach Brewer are amazing instructors. Coach D has really worked with our son, and works as a team with not just our child, but with us as our sons parents to get the most out of his education. Along with team building exercises in class, Cosens offers kid fun nights which also gives the kids a chance to “play” while still teaching them how to apply skills fun activity situations. Our son is now in the black belt training part of the curriculum and is enjoying it immensely. We are so happy we enrolled our son and look forward working with Cosens as our son continues his education in martial arts.

Our son is in the Tiny Ninjas class and we have genuinely enjoyed the last few months. Not only is the class fun for kids but also has so much structure, teaches confidence and sportsmanship, vocabulary and definitions; it all around has been a wonderful experience as we continue working our way through his belts! My son has been attending classes here for over a year and a half. In this time Ive seen improvements with his focus, drive, teamwork, physical fitness and well-being. Hes learned a lot of lessons throughout his classes that he will be able to apply throughout his lifetime. All of the coaches hes had have been excellent in giving positive reinforcement as well as pulling them aside for things that they may need help with. Overall a great experience, environment and people.

It’s a great place that has helped my son focus better, become more disciplined, and persevere through tough moments. He is working so hard to reach his goals and his coordination has improved in the 8 months he’s been there. It’s also a fun atmosphere that gets the kids excited to do more and build their love martial arts.

Iv been attending classes for about a month and a half. Very friendly staff and peer students, clean and professional environment. I was a little hesitant to join at first, I was worried the environment was a little intimidating for beginners. I couldn’t of been more wrong, everyone was super friendly and excited to have a newbie! they teach you at your skill level and build from there. It’s quite rewarding to learn and achieve new MMA techniques. Plus it’s a great workout. I’m never bored at class it’s very engaging. Above all else it’s FUN! Bottom line. Wether your looking to learn self defense, take it to the competition level, or just looking for a healthy hobby like I was, you won’t be disappointed. The hardest part is getting through the door. Once your in you’ll be hooked like I was, I’m always waiting eagerly for my next class!

My son (11) started attending about 2 months ago. The teachers here are nothing short of amazing. They are patient and kind, all while teaching the kids respect and self discipline. My son LOVES it. Weve moved up to black belt training and he looks forward to it.

Cosens Martial Arts has truly been a blessing for our 10 year old daughter Nevaeh whom struggles with ADHD among other disabilitys. Cosens Martial Arts has been fantastic for my 7 year old. In the past three months we have seen an increase in our sons confidence, focus, and his ability to interact with others. We attribute all of that to Cosens and Coach Decatur. Coach Decaturs attentiveness and ability to build a childs confidence has been a major factor to our sons success in karate and in his daily activities. We would highly recommend Cosens to anyway and cant imagine our son learning these skills anywhere else.

Bringing my Grand Son here. Coach Decatur is great at teaching kids. He is always changing the lessons up keeping it interesting. I think half the time the kids just think they are playing. But they are learning different technics at the same time. He is very pleasant and very positive.

I brought my nephew here for the two private lessons as a trial and have to say I was truly impressed. We moved to Midland a few months ago and finding a new Martial Arts for our son was a priority. We visited 5 different places and were not impressed. Our old instructor had been so amazing with kids it was hard to find a replacement. As soon as our son started talking to Coach Decatur he came out of his shell and was instantly at home. We knew we had found the right place. Now my son, husband and I all attend lessons and it is truly the highlight of our week. We are learning and growing so much. My daughter attends classes at the Bay City gym and I couldnt be happier. The coaches there have a great understanding of all ages and skill levels and they do a great job of addressing individual needs, even in a group class. Since joining, my daughter has come out of her shell and is slowly becoming mire and more confident. All of my family have noticed the difference in her. Couldnt be more grateful for the job they do there.

They are great here! They have gave my daughter so much confidence in her self that she did not have before. She was bullied in school and she did not have the confidence to defend her self against the little boy, now she stands up for herself and others. She loves going to class and her coach makes the class fun but still teaches self discipline and respect for others. This place is just all around a great place and great atmosphere! My daughter cant wait to become a black belt!

We are so excited to become apart of the Cosens Martial Arts Family! This is our first experience with martial arts and my son who is 7 is responding so nicely to it! That prompted me to start my own journey in the adult Jiu Jitsu and MMA classes with coach Steven.It was bitter sweet when you were promoted to run the Midland location, but Bay City misses you coach!
