Dan Pietrovito keeps you informed and is a great guy to work with. Has always had my vehicle serviced on schedule.

Best car buying experience I have had. Car was exactly as described after we finished negotation manager walked car I was purchasing and found a ding I had missed. He offered an addition 250 off the negotiated price without me asking. No high pressure sale pitch or overselling the vehicle throughout the process. Salesman was great.

Dont waste your time and money. Bought my car (2017 Volkswagen) from the dealership on the 21st of September 2020 and in 24 days since then I have been in the service/shop department 3 times. First week, 2 days to be exact for a malfunctioning media center. Which I was told needs to have the module replaced which is still on back order with no update for part arrival. The second time for a check engine light for a code reading stating cylinder 1 miss firing. I was told the the car required a data update as per a memo that was found on the computer system. Now the third time is for a clutch. In 3 weeks a clutch really !!!!!!!!! Car costing over 35,000.00 plus dollars including warranties ++++ and Im already replacing a major part which is considered and wear part and will cost me at least 1700.00 out of pocket. Im also being told that even though I am entitled to a loaner vehicle, I was told sorry we have none available we will put you on our list. After reading other reviews and similar problems stay way, spend your hard earned money else where. I was so hoping to start a new good customer sales relationship, I guess not

Beware of this dealership! They were wonderful when I leased my Mazda3. Great deal and hugs all around when I signed the papers. After that everything went down hill. I recommended family members and friends and they didnt get the same experience that I did and bought vehicles elsewhere. After I drove the car off the lot, I couldnt get my sales person or the finance manager to return my calls when there was a problem with them sending the new car information to my insurance company. I had finally had enough and reported them to Mazda corporate. I also wrote a letter to the General Manager who I wasnt impressed with his response either. I had to ask him to respond to my e-mail and once I put Mazda corporate on copy, he finally responded, Neither I or Mazda corporate was impressive with his very basic response. Thank goodness this was just a lease. Love my Mazda but when the lease is over, the will be returned to them and I will get my next one from the Mazda dealer in Rockland. I would not recommend this dealership at all.

Service Department is excellent. They give you accurate assessments of what your car needs and the work is done professionally. Do not have to worry that you are getting ripped off. Always get free car wash with each service. Fast yearly car NYS inspection. The sales department is excellent. Overseen by two brothers who own the dealership you can negotiate a very good price for a Mazda or Volkswagen. Have bought 2 cars from them. No problems. Would highly recommend.

Used car I bought here needed $3500 worth of repairs within 5 months. Big hassle. Still not resolved. Had the car repaired at a different location because I was told Compass didnt have the right tools. Was without the car for a month. I would not recommend this shady dealership.

Worked there many years ago. Original manager named Donna was a gem. A pleasure to work with and at 1st i overall liked the job working in the shop. Once she was replaced with a different service manager unpleasant things started happening like getting into a verbal confrontation with the parts manager who was trying to provoke me into fighting him, racist comments (disguised as jokes) from Ken Rosa and other techs, and not getting along with the service manager who wound up firing me cause I supposedly didnt bring enough work in, even thought i think their numbers are fixed.Maybe things have changed for the better now that time has passed, but it wouldnt hurt to look elsewhere if u want to be employed with VW or Mazda

I always get my car serviced at Compass Motors for a bunch of reasons. The parts and service staff are friendly, straightforward, transparent, and have gone out of their way, on multiple occasions, to make sure all of my needs are met. They’re also open at 6AM, which has been awesome for getting in and out quickly. And when you’re done, they give you a voucher for a free car wash, which is nice. I credit them for being a big part of the reason my car has been so reliable for the past several tens of thousands of miles over the past few years. The parts department is also fantastic! If you’re looking for a dealer that has a professional, knowledgeable, customer satisfaction-oriented service team, who gets the job done quickly the first time, look no further than Compass Motors. For the record, no one asked me to write this review - I’m just that happy with their service.

Tommaso was unbelievably helpful in searching & finding a difficult to find part for my Mazda truck . Glad to see you guys have the A-Team working in your parts department. Tommaso always made me feel like there was no problem too difficult to solve & that he was they guy to solve it, even at times I thought the process was extremely tedious he only showed extreme patience & confidence in his ability to figure it out which he did . Made a deal over the phone with Jamal Sullivan from sales for a 2017 Mazda 6 that I couldnt refuse. Went in the following morning, Jamal had the car ready for me and had me in and out of there with my new vehicle in less than 1.5 hrs. Was a very smooth and easy experience. Best experience Ive had at a dealership by far. They will be getting my business again this summer coming up when lease is up on our other vehicle. Beware Pennsylvanians! My dad leased a new car from this dealership a month ago and was told that the license would be transferred from his old car and he would receive it in the mail. After one month he still has not received the license and therefore cannot legally drive the car. He sent emails, Facebook messages, and left voicemails with no response from anyone at the dealership. After finally getting in touch with someone (he had to call several times) they did not seem to care about resolving the problem and offered no solution. He continues to wait to be able to drive the car he is paying for. Very unprofessional dealership with poor communication. Would not recommend to anyone, especially those trying to transfer a license from out of state. The ability of the dealership to immediately comment on a negative review but ignore a customers calls and emails only further confirms my concerns. I would also like to clarify that DMVs are not closed nor have they been for over a month, as we transfered a license on another car in less than 6 days.

I loved it!!! The salesman that I dealt with was great, very accommodating and extremely helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we were able to get the car we wanted and at the monthly payment we could afford. Actually he was so good we purchased 2 cars from him the same day! Again with the same treatment as with the first purchase nothing less than the best! The staff were friendly and they made my purchase and experience with them wonderful, even when I went into financing, the man I dealt with was very nice, he explained everything and made it easy for me to be on my way. I definitely and highly recommend them!!!

Fast service. My car was in and hour within 30 minutes for an oil change and state inspection. Service writers were friendly and knowledgeable. The service tech also came out to compliment on how good of an upkeep I did on the car. Bought a part from their parts department too. Was greeted with a smile and left with a thank you. One of the best dealerships Ive ever had to deal with. Compass has a customer for life from me!

I cant say enough good things about Compass Motors. I recently had my VW Passat in for service. My insurance company covered all but one problem I was having with my car. My warranty had expired by one month! 😞 Compass came to my aid and offered advice and in the end it was fixed with only my deductible being paid. My next purchase of a new vehicle will definitely be from Compass. Most dealerships tout how great their service department is when you purchase a new vehicle, however, after the purchase you find out theyre not. Compass proved they are definitely 5 STAR SERVICE! Compass Motors and their staff went above and beyond in helping getting my car back on the road. Their customer service was absolutely fantastic. The mechanics and service department kept me informed as to progress on a daily basis, and they even sent someone to pick me up at the local train station when my car was ready. By far the best experience I have ever had at any dealership. My only regret is not purchasing my Mazda from them in the first place.

My wife purchased a car from Compass. The car is nice for a reasonable price. The dealership is clean, salesman are accommodating. We were there on a Sunday and its a 4 hour drive for us to get there. Although they had an issue with the engine light, they did fix in a few hours. We just went and shopped while they were working on it. They did provide us with some extras since they knew we came such a ways to buy from them. Overall, very good experience.

Then, Gordy calmly, explicitly explained the problems with my car and gave me some options. Ben met with me all day to find the right car to fit my budget and needs! STAY AWAY FROM SERVICE DEPT.... POOR WORKMANSHIP!!! Just 6 months ago, my wife was stranded in NY and we had them install an alternator for the tidy sum of $900. Just recently while driving, 2 of the 3 mounting bolts for the alternator fell out and in the process of the failure the third bolt broke away along with its’ tab off the engine block?!? Next time have your mechanics torque correctly and use locktite! Unacceptable workmanship creating a dangerous situation!

Had fall service coupon from Compass for minor maintenance special and detailing special. Compass did 70M checkup, oil & filter change and annual inspection ( I forgot it was/would be due); hate when you find out that later that service has over-looked some minor thing that you have to reschedule another service date and time...The detailing special was fabulous; my vehicle generally has to be parked under pine trees, so I had this resin on the windows, roof and side of my vehicle that will not come off in a car wash unless it is very fresh. Compass was able to remove it, the exterior looks 99% like new and the interior was just as good. 5 stars for service and convenience of drop off and notification.

Do not bring your car in for service unless you like wasting time and money. I recently paid $500 to have my door repaired. After picking it up the same problem reoccurred within a week. I attempted to call them, only to have none of my messages returned. This tells me they plan on taking no responsibility for the quality of their work. Very poor customer experience!

Todays visit wasnt bad but i was there as a result of a previous visit where my wheel locks where tighten to tight..so when I took my car to a shop to have tires replaced they couldnt remove all the locks. This place sucks. My car is only 2 years old. They wouldnt replace my fog lights even though the fog lights had a manufactured defect and they got water in them. They kept trying to tell me that replacement was not covered under warranty and that I needed to pay to fix them myself. Dont go here. Dont waste your time they will try to screw you.

We just leased a new Mazda3 from Compass, and it was a great experience. Justin and Rich couldnt have been more helpful. We live in Brooklyn and have busy schedules, but Justin helped us out over email and went above & beyond by picking up the plates from our old car which were at a local body shop after being totaled - super helpful since the body shop doesnt open on the weekend.We looked at one other dealership, a luxury brand, which was a much more annoying experience - they were probably not too bad as dealerships go, but it took way more time to get information from them and their team just wasnt as helpful. It also highlighted how great Compass was - I cant imagine how they could have improved the experience. Highly recommended.

I had purchased a pre-owned 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan and brought it in for its 90k scheduled maintenance. Jeff and the entire team at Compass Motors exceeded my expectations regarding customer service. I left a happy customer, and definitely think it is worth the couple extra dollars that you pay bringing it to the dealership when service is needed. They go out of there way to do anything they can to accommodate you, and you do not get that at many generic car repair shops. I recommend that go here if you want great customer service. Every time that I brought my car in for services I was offered a ride or a loaner car. They really help their customers. The sales team is great as well. I am thinking about purchasing a new car and if I do I plan to go to Compass Motors if it ends up being a Volkswagen.

Beware of Finance Manager, Rich. This guy told me anything and everything he could to sell me a 7 year, bumper to bumper warranty, much of which proved to be untrue over time. Tried calling 3 or 4 times to call him out on his lies but of course never heard back. I will never buy from here again even though the rest of the dealership is decent, and the service lobby has complimentary wifi and coffee which makes waiting not so bad.

Not all dealerships are created equal, and you should seriously consider letting Compass Mazda in Middletown, NY help you with your next car purchase.In the summer of 2018 my fiancee needed to purchase her first new vehicle, and she really liked the look and driving dynamics of the Mazda 3. I contacted Jeremy Kosteckzo and worked with him to in order to purchase a new Mazda 3 that she was happy with. I warned my fiancee that buying a new car was an awful experience and often times you buy a car wondering if you got the best deal possible (she had only ever driven second hand cars her entire life). Compass Mazda was the first dealership where I felt like the experience was actually enjoyable, and I feel that way months after the sale.Jeremy worked with me for nearly two weeks negotiating price, concerns, and weighing the value of the Mazda 3 (since the new generation was coming soon). I will not mention pricing in this review, as that is subjective, but I will say that I paid an extremely fair price for the vehicle, and within the two weeks that we worked he rarely told me that something could not be done to meet my needs. It took time, and he stuck with me. In the end I came in and signed the papers. Speaking of signing the papers, Rich Besten the finance manager worked wonderfully communicating with Jeremy in order to ensure the deal did not change once it got to his desk. Now, wonderful and finance manager may make you feel a bit queasy if you have purchased new cars before, but Rich actually did an honest job. In fact, when Rich was done finalizing the deal he actually got my APR for my loan lower than we originally negotiated.Given that my fiancee is a heavy commuter, we expected to run out of warranty very fast, and Rich offered an extended warranty. Here is the kicker: we bought the warranty, got home, crunched some numbers, decided it wasnt for us. We called Jeremey and we were invited back to rework the deal no questions asked! They removed the extended warranty from the financing, we signed new paperwork and we left happily!A few months later I decided to take advantage of the great pricing of the Mazda 3 as well, and so I spent a week negotiating with Jeremey all over again, ending with the same happy experience that we encountered during our first purchase. Jeremy worked to find the manual transmission I preferred, worked with me for a great price (and I mean incredibly great), and I took delivery with Rich all over again. I traded a car in with this deal, and Jeremy worked towards the number I wanted by looking at what the car would sell at on competing lots, not by using some bogus site like Edmunds that often produces trade-in values that benefit the buyer. It doesnt end here, it gets better.We have been to the service center for our snow tire installation and basic maintenance since our purchase. They always fit us in, sometimes last minute. The best part? Jeremy often stays involved with my service experience. At times, when we were going to get services, Rich or Jeremy would ask how the car and the family is doing. Sometimes Jeremy would speak to service while my car was being worked on, and when it comes time to pay at service I would get an explanation from Dan Pietrovito (a service advisor) that since we have given them such great business they were giving us a little labor cost break.To sum this giant google review up, we made two car purchases at Compass Mazda in Middletown, NY and the experience completely contrasts any other experience I have had at other dealerships. We were treated with respect, I was able to make the deals I wanted, trade-ins were based on dealership used car market values and not some online site like Edmunds, the finance office experience was great, and Jeremy and Rich stay involved in my service when I visit the dealership.Rest assured we will continue to work with Jeremy and Rich with future purchases and I can recommend, with high praise, that you seriously consider visiting this dealership if you are in the market for a Mazda or Volkswagen.

Took my Mazda 6 for air bag recall and a tune up including a tire rotation. Car gets serviced i pay 450 buck for everything, not too bad im thinking. Next day we drive to NH 300+ miles. 250 miles in we get a flat tire. Inconvenient but it happens. Im able to REMOVE MY LUG NUTS BY HAND. Let me repeat that I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE MY LUG NUTS BY HAND. I get the tire replaced by a tire place in NH and they tell me unprompted that the lug nuts on the OTHER Side of my car, the side i didnt touch all had the same problem their tech was able to take the other lug nuts off on the other side of the car by hand as well. When i called Jeff in service to inquire about their tech who clearly shouldnt be anywhere near tires, Jeff informed me while second guessing what i was telling him that he didnt want to second guess me but that probably didnt happen. LIke i had undid all the lug nuts on the car drove 250 miles and then called him the next day to tell him they messed up. Nope thats NOT what happened Jeff, youre people couldnt be bothered to check their own work and my gf and i were lucky enough to get flat and not have our tries fly off at highway speeds. If I could give 0 stars I would. We were planning on upgrading our 10 year old car too with another Mazda but Ill tell you where im NOT going to buy. Compass Motors. 0 Stars and Jeff at the service desk is a dick.

I purchased a 2016 Mazda CX-5. I was very happy with my salesperson Jeff. He was personable, helpful, knowledgeable about the vehicle and treated me with respect. I made it clear what my purchase parameters were and he respected that and there was none of that Ill have to check with my manager back and forth nonsense that makes everyone hate car dealers!! I made it clear I had an online price from another dealer but that I would prefer to do business locally. I asked for his best price and he gave it to me and it beat the other place, hence my decision to purchase from Compass. I was also pleased with the whole financing process and the speed with which my car was made ready. As a side note, I stopped back the next day because something was not working properly (I thought!)and Jeff wasnt there but another salesman very graciously helped me figure it out and did not make me feel like a moron when he explained what the problem was!! Definitely an overall positive shopping and purchase experience.

The sales experience was non existent. I ended up buying the vehicle at another VW dealer. I do have to say that their service department is superb. I dont know if Ill buy a car there in the future but I will definitely get my service done there.

I’m going to keep this simple but vw if Middletown has been my best experience since owning a newer vw than I had. I didn’t even buy my car from Middletown vw, I bought my car from white plains vw and after dealing with Middletown vw I could tell thier service was way better. I’ve dealt with John a few times now at the service desk and I just want to say that he understands customer service. He takes time to talk to you and pays attention to what you have to say. He’s consistent with following up on phone calls and explains things clearly. Middletown vw is lucky to have an employee like him. So far my experience with Middletown vw has been positive, my cat is actually getting serviced now and I feel comfortable that they care about thier customers and they care about the work they do on my veichle.Steve S

I have purchased many vehicles in the past and I can attest that Compass VW is at the top of my buying experiences. I live 2.5 hours away and the Sales Manager, Jamal, not only had a vast selection of pre-owned TDIs to offer he also narrowed the list to 3 potential best fits while I was en route. Compass VW also has high standards when reviewing vehicles to determine if they are worthy of being Certified Pre-Owned. I wound up purchasing a CPO 2013 Passat Premium SEL TDI. There were no hidden fees or aggressive dealer add ons. They even held the vehicle for two weeks due to travel/work logistics. We recently made a Purchase from Compass motors. Purchased our first Volkswagen Passat tsi. My husband and I had a very pleasant experience. The car salesman Shawn was very nice, Funny and down to earth. He walked us through all the bells and whistles of the car. He Knew EVERYTHING about the car. The guy knows a lot about Volkswagons. Not a fly by night salesman just starting the job Or someone trying to make his commission. The loan manager was very nice as well. He made sure all our questions were answered and even helped lower prices on some of the extra packages being offered. When papers were signed he came back in the room with a bottle of wine and shook our hands. Other car dealerships in the area do not compare to this place. If you are looking for a Volkswagon check out Compass. You wont be disappointed. 😀

Friendly staff and generally positive experience. However, I experienced problems with the car battery after being told that it was tested and in good condition at a regularly scheduled service. Replaced the battery elsewhere and all has been well ever since. It was a waste of time and energy not to have had the problem confirmed by Mazda at the scheduled service.
