I didnt realize how difficult it was to find a good pool company until I decided to do a pool in my house. I did more than 8 different interviews and the professionalism was not there. They will not come when they had appointments, they wanted to do the design they wanted and not what I wanted. They will come and then to get the estimate was like pooling teeth. We contracted with Custom Pools to build a mega pool with Rock waterfall. We have worked with several pool builders in Miami the past on another pool, and this was by far the best experience. After bidding this large pool with several pool companies, Dago had fair price and an beautiful pool design, providing us with pool plan that met all our requests. Deciding to build a pool, is a very costly and time consuming feat. Custom pools was originally owned by older man whom I had the pleasure of meeting prior to him selling the business to the present owner Mr. Dago. This old man had me when he pulled out his blue blitz stencil and hand sketched my free form pool. I knew that when I was ready, I would return.Fast forward to 2019, I returned looking for the old man, but soon realized; Custum Pools was recently purchased by Mr. Dago. Darn! Skeptically, ISpoke with the staff, got pricing info and started the journey. The girls at the office was very professional. They just need to improve when it comes to keeping the client up to date with the process ( permits and plans etc.) You will have to call and inquire. They will not reach out to inform you on any hold ups.Construction Process:The construction process went fairly quickly...I feel as though the plastering of the inside of the pool couldve been a better... when your spending upwards of 30k you dont want to look in your pool and see any streaks in the plaster.MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT AND DISAPPOINTMENT IS THAT THE PAVERS CONTINUES TO SINK... THEY SUNK AS SOON AS THE POOL CONSTRUCTION WAS FINISHED... DAGO SENT A CREW OUT TO REDO THE PAVERS AND LIKE CLOCK WORK WITHIN 3 WEEKS, THEY SUNK AGAIN. NOW WE ARE WAITING FOR HIS CREW TO COME FIX IT.. THIS IS NOT WEAR AND TEAR..THIS IS SIMPLY BAD COMPACTING. IF THE FOUNDATION ISNT STABLE, THEN OF COURSE THE PAVERS WONT BE EITHER. I HOPE THE OWNER MR. DAGO MAKES GOOD WITH HIS PROMISE TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE, BECAUSE HE IS WELL AWARE THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE WE FIRST INSTALLED THE POOL. I WILL UPDATEUPDATE!!!!!!I am pleased to announce that my pool pavers have been fixed. Mr. Dago promised me that he would send a crew to fix the pavers before the New Year and as promised; the crew started the work on 12/29/20 and finished on 12/31/2020... Mr. Dago contacted me to ensure that the pavers was done correctly. I would like to thank Mr. Dago for ensuring that the issue was corrected. The pavers are level and look good as new....

This has been the best pool building experience. I have built several pools with other pool builders in Miami but Custom Pools is by far the best to work with. So in the middle of a pandemic my wife and I decided to have a pool built. We called seven (7) pool builders which ignored our phone calls and emails. We contacted Custom Pools Miami and within a few days we were paid a visit by Hugo, one of their sales representatives. He met with us, listened to our ideas, and offered a few of his own. Within a week he provided us with a preliminary sketch of what our pool would look like on our backyard. The price quoted was fair and competitive. We signed a contract with Custom Pools a few days later. Custom Pools handled all of the permitting process. There is a permitting wizard in their office by the name of Maria, who is sharp and stays on top of the process. Pool construction began with the excavation in early August and by the end of October the pool was being filled with water.This timeframe is remarkable when you consider that there was approximately one week that no work was done due to rain and another week that we were on vacation and we asked Custom Pools to cease all work until we returned. Overall, our experience with Custom Pools was a very pleasant one. Everyone from the owner, Dagoberto Dago, the foremen; Rich and Jairo, the office staff; Maria, Salome, and Stephanie, and the different crews, including Moises and Angel, and several others whose names I cannot remember who worked on the pool are the epitome of professionalism and competency. Not only did they do a great job in their respective areas but they cleaned up after themselves at the end of the work day. This was a major concern for me since I live inside a gated community where the HOA staff is fastidious, to say the least. Having a pool built is a major decision and financial investment. Proceed with caution, there are many pitfalls if you dont choose wisely!One of my neighbors was so impressed with Custom Pools that he contracted them and construction will soon begin on his pool.My other neighbor, not so lucky! He hired a contractor who DOES NOT specialize in pools so the job has been delegated to a sub-contractor who is taking his time and giving him the runaround. Construction on my neighbors pool began seven weeks ago and all he has to show for it is a hole in is backyard and some steel rebar.In closing, Custom Pools Miami is the way to go. We are now enjoying our new pool and wondering why we didnt do this sooner.

If allowed I would rate Custom Pools 10 stars! I am naturally skeptical and inquisitive so during Corona Pandemic 2020 when my wife and I finally realized it was time to put in a pool, we started doing our homework. 8 pool quotes later and we settled on Custom Pools for our Pool Conatruction. They were not the cheapest option, more in the midrange, but what set them apart for us was the inclusion in the price of upgraded finishes( like waterline tile) and competitive pricing on upgraded plaster (we went with Azure and it is 🔥🔥). Additionally the owner, Dago was available at all times. I mean ALL times, when a question or idea would pop into our heads at 11pm, I would shoot and email expecting a response the next day but more often than not I got a reply or a text within minutes.The build/permit process went just as smoothly. Once we signed off on plans the permit was delivered within a week and the next day the excavator started. Every single team that came to work was friendly and professional. Completed their work and left a clean working area for the next group. The sheer amount of logistics and timing is Mind blowing. This included daily visits by our project manager Rich to check on the work.We are incredibly happy with our pool. It was delivered on time,on budget, and with no stress which honestly is all we wanted in a pool buying experience. I have seen and heard all the horror stories but I can tell you from our experience I would recommend Dago and the team at Custom Pools without a second thought for your Pool Contractor in Miami.

I mean Ive heard horror stories about taking even up to a year for some company that are not true to their word. However, Custom Pool did meet and exceeded my expectation. I did my pool with them last year and it took them about 1 month since they broke ground to finish. however, the whole pool took about 5 months due to Miami Dade County Building Dept delay in approving the plans. I honestly tell you that Custom pools staff is very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I highly recommend them and believe me that here is Miami Florida you have to be careful who you hire to build your pool. My whole family is pleased with Custom Pools.

My family and I had been discussing whether or not to add a pool to our house.... Finding a reliable Pool contractor was my biggest concern.. after seeing Custom Pools Miami start and complete two friends of mine‘s pools that I was in total amazement with I knew they were the right Pool contractor for me. Dago was able to complete the pool well within the timeframe he had given me, I had also asked for some changes in the middle of the construction like tiling the back bench which were not a problem for them to accommodate! Everybody that works for Custom Pools Miami treated me like family... Dago the owner, Hugo the sales rep, the project manager, and Stephanie and Maria in the office, . This is the only pool contractor that I would recommend!

Contacted this company to get an estimate for a full pool, pool deck and patio renovation. The sales/renovation manager came out to my house and met with me to discuss the project and look at field conditions. I am an architect thus; I like to prepare for any project big or small. I provided an AutoCAD site plan with a take-off (square footages) of all areas pertinent to the project along with a typed list identifying the scope of work. All that needed to be done was for the company to plug in their numbers from their sub-contractors and a proposal would have been generated. The person told me to give him two to three days to provide their proposal. A week went by and no response. I called him to inquire and he told me it would be ready by the end of the week. Another week went by so I texted him asking for the proposal but no reply. Six days later, I called the office to explain the situation and the person on the phone assured me that she would communicate to the manager my urgency. Have not heard back from them. I took them off my list. Remember, this was the manager I was dealing with. If this was their performance trying to get the job, imagine how it would go once they started the job. Stay away from Custom Pools.

I moved to Miami, Fl from Orlando Florida 10 weeks ago. I wanted to redo our pool,  and add a spa, and travertine paver decking. I interview 5 Miami pool contractors and selected Dago at Custom Pools. The pool project started in early January and took about 10 weeks to complete. Hugo and Dago was in contact with me to discuss the progress of the work. They completed the entire job, without a hiccup. On time and on budget. The outcome could not have been better, Highly rated pool company.

Custom Pools builds an excellent pool and their customer service and pool construction was excellent.

Just wait until you have any problems. My pool deck is sinking in various areas. I contacted Custom Pools before Thanksgiving and up to now, a month and a half later I have not received a response. I have called back several times and every time I was told that the manager/owner is in a meeting and I never received a call back. Not even a courtesy call to say if my deck will be fixed for free or if there will be a charge...NOTHING. I had problems with the deck before and even when there is heavy rain, the water settles by the foundation of my house. It is a waste of time trying to contact the office.

This is the best pool company you will find in South Florida. My wife and I interviewed different pool companies before deciding on who was going to build our pool. When we came across Custom Pools we immediately knew they were the choice!!!! We decided on Custom Pools because of their reputation, excellent work and professionalism. They have been around for many years and that means a lot, especially when choosing a reputable pool company these days. Our pool was completed even before the time frame that was promised and from the first day they began, it was smooth sailing. The inspections were seemless, which is a testament to their attention to detail.The entire built was very stress free and having piece of mind is the best feeling in the world. We did our pool with them and we are very happy with the outcome. They assist and guide us thru the all process, and answer all our questions and concerns every time. They resolve an issue with a non permit situation we had, without having to take down the construction we already had. We were able to pass all the inspections with no issue thanks to them. They put the fpl cable underground. We did with them 950feet of a beautiful white marble for the decking around the pool. All the employees and the owner are very professional. We love our pool and we highly recommend them with no doubt.

My husband and I took our time trying to select the right company to construct our pool and spa in our new home. After going through at least 7 presentations, we finally selected Custom Pools. We signed our contract on 7 Oct 2019, theybroke ground 27 Nov 2019 - yes they worked on Thanksgiving -and filled pool 6 Feb 2020. Thepermits closed 20 February 2020.We are very happy with our product, but more importantly, we feel like we have made a connection for life. My pool just passed the final inspection 6/23/16 with flying colors. These guys are professionals and surprisingly fast. Our pool was ready in 7 weeks. Reliable and trustworthy. I did my research before signing the contract and they are spot on with their statements of reliability. Perhaps I paid more when compared with other estimates, but in my experience with them a few more thousands are worth having the project completed and without head aches. John is awesome, inspections went great, neat work. Highly recommend this pool contractor, even the inspectors had great things to say about them.

Compared to other pool construction companies in Miami, Custom Pools actually delivers. Not just in terms of customer service, but in transparency of pricing, knowledge about pools, and time management of project completion.They go beyond just building the pools. This company is absolutely amazing and I would recommend it hands down to anyone thinking of building a pool, renovating, or any other swimming pool or spa needs you may have. I recently finished the pool in my house with a different company (Im actually being generous by calling it a company because it is a joke of a business and they should have their license revoked!!!) because it was an absolute nightmare. There are no words to describe the terrors we went through with those people but I will definitely do my very best to describe it when I review them later on. On the other hand, I had a spa installed in my house by Custom Pools and from the owner to his employees were all extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and very generous! They moved and installed my spa, started it and left it running perfectly. And also when the owner of Custom Pools went to my house, I told him about my previous horrible experience and asked him if he could help me with figuring out how to work my new salt water pool system because the other company did not. Not only did he teach me how to work the system but he went the extra mile and sent a group of three technicians the very next day to put in the salt for me and also told them to install a drain hose into the system for when I need to lower the water level or drain anything from the pool. He went on and beyond, never asking for a dime or any type of compensation. Instead he always offered his help and gave me his personal number and told me to save it for any questions or concerns I may have in the future. I am just very sorry that i did not find them sooner and had them build the pool for my family. Im sure it would not had taken them 8 months to finish.

Ive heard horror stories about pool builders so I did my research scouwering the internet, reading reviews and asking friends for referrals and I decided to go with the pool company that has standed the test of time. Since 1964. Custom Pools was not the cheapest pool contractor but there pool cost was very fair. In fact at the end I feel that apples to apples when you add up Customer Service and Quality Craftmanship its worth every penny. Your first point of contact is Stephanie and she was amazing explaining everything I needed to get started. I spent hours in there showroom with there sales manager as he designed my beautiful pool with spa. Maria then took over and did all the leg work to get my pool approved in the building department, thats really were you see a difference from a small miami pool Builder or a large one. Your not chasing the 1 man pool guy to see if he answers and hoping he return your calls. The entire team would answer my calls or emails with any questions i had or they were always calling me to update me on my pool progress, that makes a really big difference and it took all my anxieties away. My Project manager Rich did a superb job on making sure my pool project maintained on schedule and quality control on point.The best thing is if you ever have a question he couldn’t answer I can get a call directly from Dago the president to go over my pool project. Now i know why they’ve been in business for 55 years and are consider them the BEST Pool Builder in Miami.I HIGHlY recommend this company !!!!Trust me you will not be disappointed !!!

In my personal opinion I saw several companies that made swimming pools and none of them how is it, I will tell you that a cousin of mine recommended it to me that 20 years ago or more they made hers, well I will tell you that the attention of Hugo, Dago and Stefany They were spectacular also that they told me that the pool would take two and a half months to three and it took 2 months and 11 days that it would have been finished before but due to the rains it took a little time if it had not been finished in less than two months and is The company is very serious with a lot of Ethics and they work in detail. I recommend them 100 percent, I dont have to complain, greetings to the great team and may they continue to prosper.

Whenever they make a recommendation for an investment of that size, one has a tendency to doubt, but I accept that it was the best decision I could make and the result speaks for itself, there was not a single negative complaint, the truth is I am very happy. With the end result, without fear of being wrong, I recommend this company to make your pool.
