I really REALLY didn’t want to believe some of the reviews about furniture pick-up but it unfortunately became true for me. I had called and scheduled a pick-up a week in advance. Was called and talked with Juan who was very nice. A day before the scheduled pick-up I called again confirming that they would come tomorrow (my anxiety about reviews was starting) Juan was very nice again and confirmed pick up. I want to mention there was never a time confirmed at this point. The day comes and I hadn’t gotten any phone call. I decided to call at 12 and see roughly when they were coming. Once again Juan was nice and told me between 2-4pm. I get no call, no mention from my condo management that a truck had come in, nothing! At 3:45 I call, I felt very annoying but I was desperate. NO RESPONSE. I say you know what, maybe they’re running late or on the other line. I call about 2 more times and nothing. They never showed up, not returned my calls :-/ I was donating a couch, rug and bed.

I do not usually write reviews however after reading some for this organization had to respond. I have donated to them for several years, attended a graduation at Marlins Stadium and volunteered installation of a commercial ice machine in their kitchen along with a coworker. If you could see the families of these graduates so proud of the accomplishments by members of their family getting their life back and reuniting there are no words to describe it. When my mom passed I donated nearly everything in her home and the pickup was seamless. This is a wonderful organization, staff and volunteers who unconditionally help those no one else will. When this COVID issue is over they will resume volunteer openings, you may see for yourself.May God continue to Bless them all.

I am truly grateful for the amazing people that work here. I needed something for my son and I started emailing every agency, nonprofit organization and companies and people that I thought could help. Then I get an email saying we have ordered your request you can pick it up tomorrow. Mind you I had never been to the Miami rescue mission or spoken to anyone or have no kind of connection to them and the way they were able to so fast and willingly help us just warmed my heart. Thank you to all at the Miami Rescue Mission!! God bless!!

They didnt show for an appointment to pick up a furniture donation. We tried to donate several nice pieces of furniture and lots of my late fathers clothes shortly after his passing. We scheduled a day for the pick up a week in advance but, per policy, werent given our 2 hour window until 9am the day of. I waited at the house from 2 to 4 and no one showed. No one answered or returned my call at 4:15. When my sister got ahold of someone the next day they had no explanation.

The customer service on the phone was fantastic. They quickly set me up with a pick up date and the crew arrived on time. However, I had a couch to donate, with a small stain (see picture) and was told they couldnt take it (though the driver said it was a good couch). My understanding was this organization is providing to those in need, giving them items to set up a home. A small stain shouldnt prevent this from happening. Additionally, I wasnt told about those requirements when I called. So, now the couch is going on the curb. Disappointing.

I doubt About this mission when I see they refused such item. Sofa was in a decent shape, no stain, no dirt. I will never call them again . Pick another donation location !

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, go with another company willing to take your DONATION. They make it so difficult, items have to be near perfect conditions, pick up time at their convenience any time between 8;30 am and 4;30 pm . They take the will of giving away from you, Rather pay to someone to throw it away than spend 8 hours for a pick up that may not even happen, . If I could give 0 stars I would

While the food is of fantastic quality and comes in generous portions, complimented perfectly with a can of name brand coca cola, authoritarian dictators still run the place and with publicly scold you god forbid you sit in the wrong chair, or on the floor instead of a chair, and will force you to watch a movie while you wait for food whether you want to look or not. With authoritarianism comes law and order, thus careful documentation will ensure your bag will not be stolen by homeless tweakers, though the staff may go through it and smoke your meth.

I had to take a picture and show it to him and I had to do the same for other customers.today when I - ( A girl short skinny and yes strong. )went to pick up my table None of the guys were willing to help me pick up a very large long heavy wooden table I did it all by myself from the back all the way to the entrance picking up and dragging the table from different places. finally but not until the end to the super nice guys help me out a bunch of guys working I thing like little girls its quite a shame… And to think that they dont realize that because we are purchasing there there is helping and benefiting them

In addition to providing a few months of temporary housing when you when you follow their rules, the mission offers showers and meals to those who live on the streets. All the staff there have risen up from within, so they know all the cons and the games played by the newbies, from lies of omission to twisting stories. The Miami Rescue Mission is apparently a necessary evil, because the MIAMI POLICE do not address the issue of the mentally damaged who should be locked up in a psychiatric facility, but instead are flying under the radarand think it is normal to live on the streets. These homeless people are AT RISK TO HARM THEMSELVES because of their unawareness (or NOT BEING CAPABLE) of what it takes to conform to mainstream society. The mission does its best to offer respite from the streets, yet there are many who cannot conform to the regulations and stick to the programs offered.

So I decided to donate again, but this time I was scheduled for a day and nobody showed up, and nobody didn’t even call me to tell me what happened. Today I called and the person who picked up the phone was rude and annoying. I don’t think I’ll donate here again.

If I could give no star I would.Waited whole day for them to pick up sizeable furniture donation. They called three times saying the truck is delayed. On third call they said they had truck emergency and I was being unreasonable for being upset that I waited all day. The manager said they would reschedule and I would be first thing in the morning the following week. I agreed and that second scheduled day there was no call. I called them and they said either before 12 or after 1. They called at 12 to say that driver tried but couldnt get a hold of me to say that they cant reach my building. For some reason they were able to reach me to tell me that only at 12. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, go with another company willing to take your DONATION.

I would like to say what they say on there website is very fake. I have never seen a shelter that will just throw away somebodys personal stuff and then lie about it all. So if you ever get to where that you are homeless and dont have a place to sleep dont go here is because they will force you into there program and keep you from your spouse. They also give you only one meal a day and make you stay on the street.

I didnt completely receive everything I was told I would get.6.Took cold showers majority of the time. 7.Certain staff treated us as of you were a step child and you better appreciate the disgusting and unbearable for site food.8. You have to give up access to your personal cellphone unless you are leaving the building. This is when ask for your phone.Pros: 1. I received a early head start program for my baby to attend daycare.2. Great case managers3. Great events for the kids4. Bible studies are awesomeI was discharged from the program for a fight that didnt start but I pick up a milk crate which was a weapon. I pray to God they get it together because it can be a really nice program to be in. Its just you build a relationship with these people and when their stressed everyone feels it. It was uncomfortable to feel that way in the process of trying to get somewhere better for yourself. I thank God for the experience.

They have called several times, and when I mention I already gave online they are very polite and say we arent calling for more money, we are just calling to say thank you. They wish you a blessed day and hang up. Thats real class in a charity in my book. Ill take Cefalos word that the money goes to people who need it, I have never heard any different, and I do not donate to many charities at all since I know most are wasting the money.
