This place was very difficult to be in. They felt like your situation didnt matter as long as your there. They were only nice enough to kick you out and take everything you have afterwards. I been given slick remarks about my situation and how stressful and irritating the staff can be. The only person I respect over there was holly of all people, because she didnt waste on handing me a work pass when I had to work. All and all, this shelter is slow and will hit the breaks if your the heaviest bag in the bus and it will still run slow.

Chapman Partnership was a great experience, at first I couldnt understand why they were running their organization the way it was going until I had certain encounters with their wonderful staff. They were filled with so much peace, love, and self control. I honestly felt sorry for some of the staff members, experiencing and seeing some of the things that Ive seen and experience. The kitchen staff was also great and welcoming. They treated us like real guest and really came through for me as a single exhausted mother. After losing my place and my 2 jobs my 3 children and I had no where else to go and Chapman Partnership welcomed us. They were well organized and handled me and my anxiety very well and I appreciate them for that. Love is truly in this place. God bless💗😇🙋🏽‍♀️🤱🏽👭👧🏽🧒🏽

Chapman Partnership is the second worst thing that Miami-Dade could have thought of regarding how to help homeless people. They have forgotten that they are supposed to help people get out of the shelter and get them on their feet into their own place and a job if the person can work. The case managers here are possibly racially biased. I bet that everyone who has graduated from this so called program were all native Spanish speaking people. They dont care about African Americans. They are holding all of the current residents hostage instead. This so called program is not do much for me because I am an African American woman. They dont care. Next to Miami-Dade Homeless Trust, again this is the worst thing that Miami-Dade county could have ever came up with. living in this shelter is a lie and manipulations. Staff members treat everyone like prisoners and the people that Chapman Partnership hired to help the residents of Chapman Partnership are not doing their jobs. They dont care, they suck everyone housing specialist, case managers, everyone who supposed to help everyone are discriminating against color and language barrier. Even the African American employees are only helping Spanish speaking natives and ignoring the English speaking clients and not doing anything to get everyone who is a resident out of the Chapman Partnership shelter. Theyre all paid to give people the runaround. Theyre only on their job whenever they need to discharge someone or tell someone to put on their mask. I HATE CHAPMAN! I wish that I could sue these people.

Chapman was truly a blessing for me when I was homeless. I know the feeling of be treated like less then but, I didnt receive that from Chapman. Everyone has a bad day but that should not be held again Chapman as a whole. If you do what you have to do Chapman will do what they have to do for you. Again yes some people have problems but majority of them are great.

Good morning folks and I have to start off like this cause this is my 1st time in/at a shelter however how they treat the people with jobs are like sh*t but see not only that staff dose not do there job at all and of course any Issues do not get resolved a the food is terrible in cook food not enough food at time they are good food not really a good place for kids everyone here fails a drug test and if your stuff is misplaced or stolen they will play dumb after re rolling the camera if they really do check only good thing about Chapman is the caseworkers in Anna in housing lady V they try they best more than they best we need staff like them. But if you guys need to see for yourself of course come check it out your self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited someone often, only to find out that he was never helped by his case manager. I was the only one to him find work only to not be able to attend interviews because case manager wanted to meet only to tell him his time at shelter was coming to an end if he did not find work when in reality he had interviews all along for which he had to miss cause of bs.

These people are very unreliable. I feel sorry for the people they a supposedly trying to help. I had an entire home full of very nice furniture to donate from an estate. They do not fulfill their promises to pickup. Horrible work ethic. A woman named Alina Reyes kept trying to reschedule pickups. They do not return phone calls and left me hanging. They seem to think theyre doing you a favor. There are much better and more reliable organizations to donate your items to. Very surprised because they were referred to me by a friend with the Cocoplum Womens club and during one of their tours. They told her they desparately needed items for the homeless. I guess not. Very unprofessional organization! Look else where if you really want to help the homeless.

Upon entrance you treated as a homeless piece of dirt. They check your luggage and Im sure its for everyones safety but theres no need to linger near my panties. The staff are rude and it feels like a prison system, the classes are non existent to be honest and they dont even help with job placements. I recommend a nice forest on 296 and us1

The staff is ratchet. I was there also because I lost my job and lost my apartment I wasnt only there for 1 or 2 months until I started working. But the staff is terrible.. most of them act like they run a jail house because theyre from the streets themselves. I had a good counselor you can say she helped me out because I was kinda depress at that time. Im

I was their with my family about 2 years ago the staff talk to you anyway most of the donation the staff took home my kids were always sick with upper respiratory infection and the black mold in their was crazy the housing person Mr Burke did not help and if he didnt like you he would go and tell his wife who was a worker in the frc and she would black ball you to go on any trips but made sure all her family went on the trip like the heat games if she didnt like you she would said not enough tickets but when we went after everyone was in she would still have a hand full if extra tickets it is a shame people in jail got more respect then people in that shelter and after 9 months in being in their they told me and my family we had to leave. Its a shame they need to revamp the staff and not all the staff was bad some of the staff actually care about our needs the rest garbage

If you living in the streets not a bad place for a roof over your head, and some what of 3 meals a day. But any other shelter will help better then this facility, even the Homestead Chapman facility would help better then the Overtown facility.

Im grateful for this place. This is the main shelter that most homeless ppl want and some take poor advantage of. If youre a regular they will not take u serious. The first time I was here years ago it was very stressful due to other personal factors now Im here again its very organized and they allow u to have your freedom come and go throughout the day before 7pm serve three decent hot meals case workers staff on hand etc etc. If there is no bed space they will offer u a cart. Green shirt have a few decent ppl that will work hard to get u in the other few only work by numbers. If youre serious about working to get your life together and respectful they will help u with housing groceries deposits furniture and a few more ecentives. They help working familes. If u have income you can save your money. Its a stress free environment in a good mindset. They dont judge who can stay. These negative comments is coming from negative ppl. Dont worry about others here mind your business and focus on you it will be more pleasant. They take a lot of homeless ppl from different walks of life the mentally ill the working class bums etc. There will be moments a bad crew might enter but it doesnt take away the help it offers if u show them and tell them your needs and follow the plan. Some ppl come in and out like revolving doors for years but it doesnt take away the help when u ask for it through chain of command and eligible. U can stay up to 9 months. They use to call it THE HAC. Thanks Chapman staff for excepting me. Shannon Nixon

Literally the worst place ever I went to the hospital because I got super sick for a whole week I come back and I was notified that I can’t come in even though I had talk to my caseworker every day to let him know that I was still there I even have my paperwork to show that I was at the hospital they only picked up the stuff from the locker didn’t pick up anything from under the bed they still have a let me get anything under my bed I have roommates that I lived with that told me that my stuff is still under the bed that another lady is going through my stuff she kept my phoneShe kept all my shampoo and my conditioner buy laundry detergent my book bags my school supplies is crazy that I can’t get my own stuff back even when I told my caseworker Oswaldo that I was in the hospital came in with paperwork and I’m not allowed in so basically if you’re not homeless shelter do not go to hospital because they will throw you a black out you go to a mental hospital they throw you out you go to rehab they throw you out they don’t want you to get better they just count you as money and throw you out as fast as you went in as fast as you go out and keep your been pretending that you’re still there so they could keep getting a paycheck after three days is when they dismiss your case

This is the absolute worse shelter in Miami. They do not care about the people who live there. All they care about is keeping the beds filled. There have been people who have died while in the facility and no one talks about it. When I was there I was told I had to sell what little I had in order for the staff to help me. The staff are rude and talk down to everyone. People bring and sell alcohol and drugs in the facility. The dorm rooms are filthy and you are expected to clean up behind some of the dirtiest people. I’d rather live under the bridge then to be someplace where I am considered less than a human being.
