A friend recommended this place bc she said her mom likes it bc it’s quiet. That’s because there’s never anyone in there. At least when I’ve gone in. I got a manicure 3 days ago along with a pedicure. Pedicure was nice. Manicure not so much. The skin around my nails is chopped up and even swollen around the cuticle of one finger. Every time I go in it’s a new issue. The ONLY reason I keep going back is because they can always take me pretty quickly. I will NOT be doing business with Avalon moving forward. If you’re looking for something quick and are willing to sacrifice quality, Avalon is your place!

They are very fun and do great work it gets busy and they dont take appts but its very clean and I am always super happy with my service

I have visited this place multiple times because of their proximity to my home, but I will be finding a new place. They offer a great variety of colors and services. However, this does not make for the lack of professionalism and bad moral. Our party was greeted rudely and given attitude throughout our entire stay on multiple occasions. Moreover, the aesthetic of the place is degraded by the paper manifestos posted everywhere from the entrance to even the bathroom door that states: “read before entering,” which is 3 sheets of paper long. By the time one has read it, the need to use the restroom would be no more. Lastly, the services are overpriced considering the gel and regular polish does not last as long as it should and the degraded atmosphere. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

This place is a joke. The lack of professionalism and their attitudes are pathetic. I don’t give a dam what language the were talking in. I bet the understood what I said. I hope and pray they are shut down soon.

I visited this nail salon on 4/2/21.I walked in around 1:15PM and was told 15 min for the wait. Well, that wait turned out to be about TWO hours.There was already a mother and daughter in queue before me and then a woman came in after me. It turns out she was returning from earlier that morning and had an appointment. All three of them were seen before me but no big deal, right?I sat there for 45 mins. Two more women came in after me and also a guy--he just walked straight back and was taken care of. I asked the woman who all of a sudden seemed to be running the counter (No one was there when I arrived), Miss? How much longer? Yall told me 15 mins---its been almost an hour!The minute I said that, she goes Oh, come come! And points me to the back to sit and wait for an older woman to finish up. Heres where things take a nose dive. The older woman is asking me if I picked a color, did I get a pedicure, all this random stuff--yet shes still finishing up a powder set on a woman. That takes another 15-20 mins. Finally the woman is done and she has to wash her hands.The nail tech jumps up to go add in the charges and then is trying to rush me into her seat. But the previous customer hasnt even moved her purse or phone yet, Im like Her stuff is still there... and she laughs. When she walks off, the customer looks to me and shakes her head she says Her nerves are BAD. Referring to the nail tech.I wait another 5 mins for her to finishing ringing up the customer. At this point Im seated in the chair. When she comes back she says, Please, give me 5 mins to change my shirt! Its hot! Its too hot! She grabs her car keys and goes outside, comes back in with another shirt and then walks to the bathroom. Another 10 minutes go by! At this point Im over EVERYTHING! I stand up and ask a guy I see finishing up a womans nails if he can take me next. He was the one who told me 15 mins in the first damn place!Im like Ive been here two hours and now this one has disappeared! She went to change a shirt and hasnt come out yet! I dont have time to be in here all day. The woman working the counter overhear as and looks around, right then the nail tech appears from the back and shes chewing! At this point even the woman behind the counter is annoyed because she doesnt understand why I havent been started on.The nail tech laughs and says, Im hungry! Hungry?! You were supposed to change your shirt but you decided to have a snack on top of that? I said, Ill wait for him to finish. She said shes hungry but thats not my problem!The guy wraps up, meanwhile the girl tech next to him is behind her mask trying to hide her laughter. The whole thing is one big joke to all of them. I wont be returning. He did a decent job on my nails, but any complaints I had he tried to rush through. Anytime a Black woman speaks up in those environments, they want to rush us out ASAP. The narrative is always that were combative EVEN when weve kept our composure and tried to be diplomatic. But its okay, thats what Google is for.I would NOT recommend this place unless you are okay with the techs complete disregard for your time and patience.

Its a beautiful space and good services. The only drawback is the pedicure chairs dont have the back massage features.

This nails are only a week old...the charged me $45 for dip polish....I have had dipped polish multiple times before....this place is nothing but a rip off....I cant believe how poorly the work was done... I wish I could get a refund....I actually gave them a second chance to fix the problem and made it worst....

I get gel polish all the time and it last 3 or more weeks without them chipping. I went back to them on Monday or Tuesday after getting them done that Friday before(3 or 4 days) I was told that I had to pay almost 30 dollars to get them polished again. The lady at the front counter apologized and said they should do it all over. I appreciate her but it wasnt her decision, she kept going back to this young man(manager/owner) to ask him what could they do... My money spends everywhere.AFTER 3-4 DAYS

Great experience. They are very friendly and they have alcohol. Note: tequila for the margarita pedi goes in the foot soak. Kinda of disappointing because I wanted a shot. Still a wonderful pedicure.

Its expensive but great quality

The place was very clean but the service was terrible. I went in for a regular fill in and toe change and after a week, THREE of my nails came up and broke off. I went back to explain what happened. They asked me who took care of me and that it shouldn’t have happened since my set was fresh but still charged me to replace the nails. I had to go to another place to get a FOURTH nail fixed. This is my first and very last time ever giving them a dime. I only went to this place because my original nail salon closed early that day, but never again. Even after a refill, my gel set lasts two and half to three weeks, at the least, two weeks, but no way should this have happened after ONE week. If the nails had to be replaced, charge me to replace them, but do not rush and do a poor job. Now, you’ve lost a customer for life and I’ll never recommend anyone to this location. Please do not let the beautiful set up of this place fool you.

I asked for gel pedicure three times and they ignored. The regular pedicure was really horrible. She polished like a kid. Plus they always overpriced for no reason.

I was suppose to get a 15 minute massage by Jasmine and it wasnt given. When I asked the Guy/Manager he said I had to pay more and I told him I had been coming here for almost a year and I didnt have to pay extra he said well things changed. So I never went back and I told him Ill never come back me or my friends never went back. Guess what..you got it!

The top coat is coming off completely, the black tips aren’t even even, crooked as can be and now it’s all cracked up, I spent 45& to have to get them redone in less then a week

Came in with my sleeping baby and was told to pick a color sat down and waited the owner comes from the back saying I didn’t know you had a baby no kids allowed, after letting me wait.

The atmosphere was peaceful and clean, the service is not what I expected for the price. My dipping powder was clumpy on my nails the nail tech act like she didnt notice the problem. I was able to get my nails fixed by a different nail tech. I probably wont go back. But the atmosphere is very serene.

The receptionist was told polish change and 1 nail repair. The technician took it upon himself to continue to another nail then tell me $35 had to be paid for something I asked for would have only been $12. No to mention threatening to call the police if the $35 wasn’t paid! What is the point of a receptionist asking you what would you like if the tech is gonna do what they want and charge you what they want?? Will NEVER go back and DO NOT RECOMMEND to any one! I would give 0 starts but that is not an option!

Nail tech dug into my nail bed...damaged my nail...never went back for service..never will..Owner fell below short in customer service only concerned about making money...didn’t see the big picture

I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was very relaxing and comfortable. My pedicure was amazing as was the massage. I felt as if I could fall asleep in the chair. The refill was a tad bit uncomfortable. 4 of my fingers were nicked (cut), one of the right hand and three on my left. When going to wash my hands I felt the pain. I always give places a chance so I said okay this is my first time so I’ll make sure they are aware that they have cut me. Needless to say, the place is beautiful and calm. Relaxing and has great energy. The staff is nice also. I’m not too happy about the cuts, but I’ll give it one more try.

Very rude attitudes, shoddy job, obviously exasperated by the fact that I had my little girl with me to have a pre wedding pampering. The man who did my nails kept saying he had only been doing nails for two weeks, and also repeatedly told me This nail shape is VERY DIFFICULT so I want you to know how gracious I am for doing it. That way you too me higher. I got almond shape, literally the easiest one. Im a nail tech but I needed mine and my daughters done for a wedding we are in. Its been so busy at my shop and I work 45 min from my house, so I went somewhere local. Would never return or send anyone to this joke.

This place is amazing. My friends and I were visiting from Atlanta and they gave us the absolute best service. Very professional and fast service for there to be 5 of us! I enjoyed myself and will definitely make this my place to be everytime I visit Louisiana. Now I’m on the hunt to find a nail salon just as good in Atlanta because I want nothing less than the quality that I received from Avalon! Everyone please make this your choice for a salon, you won’t regret it!

The staff is very nice and the salon is very clean and updated. Although the prices are kind of high for the services, as my pedicure was somewhat messy after the paint dried. Would definitely go again, but maybe during a better time of the day, not on Sunday evening.

The first time I went there with the person that recommended, we were treated ugly by an employee and we left. I decided to give them a second opportunity because sometimes one employee can not define the rest of the place. Since then I been a every two weeks customer for a couple of months now. I have a big event coming up this weekend, which I decided to scheduled an appointment/reservation for yesturday at 5:30pm. If you been in that small shopping center around that time, sometimes is hard to find a parking spot due to the boxing gym. I got to the nail salon 5min late because I couldnt find a parking spot. When I told one of the employees my name, he looked at me like he did not know I had a reservation, he went to the owner and she told him I was late which I explained I couldnt find a parking spot. I was treated super ugly. I had reservations before and had waited 20min before they call me, doesnt make sense the way I was treated. Can not believe this nail shop treat loyal customers like this. First time was a rude employee, but now this was the Owner treating customers like this, I will not waste my time with them.

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I get the dip powder on a regular. I got my nails done that Saturday me and my mom both, both of our nails were cracking in the center of our fingers, breaking in the meat and splitting. Eventually, i had a lot of ruined nail beds and one of my finger actually bled from it being cracked in the meat. The atmosphere was nice, but the prices are EXTREMELY too high for the poor work they do there.

I used to have a very relaxing time going here. However, the last couple of times and especially today when I got a manicure, the front desk employee did not smile once and did not welcome me. Another employee was talking throughout the salon, negatively, how she needed to find a new job and that she won’t put up with “ shit” anymore. She was speaking very loudly about what she hates about working there. It completely ruined my “relaxation” time. On the other hand, The women who did my nails was very nice and did a great job. Unfortunately I still won’t be going back there again because of a rude and obnoxious employee.

I have been to Avalon many times and today the woman that was manning the front told us, 3 friend who went together with appointments that we could not have what we wanted. Then she said its all in one bill, we said no. She was upset because she had to enter our names separate. There was not enough personnel to do our services at the appointments time. The woman was rude, did not add what they usually add to the pedicure water. Hardly put water in the basin. I take of my shoes and she tells me I cannot have a pedicure because my toes hurt. I told her I have an ingrown toe nail and that Ive had many pedicures there.I just got up and left, since got there she was negative. Such a wonderful place and one person can do so much harm to a business.

Wonderful experience. What sets this nail salon apart from others is the actual massage experience with pedicures. Everyone is professional and the experience feels personal because everyone calls you by name.

Beautiful place as it should be since its new but has OK service and NOT GOOD talent. I walked in asking for a pedicure and a full set. 1st was the Express Pedicure and express it was. It lasted about 10 minutes which is fine but was not done correctly. They used no cream looking stuff before they cut the gunk from my toes, just water, so it was a tad bit painful and the person doing it also cut me literally. After my swift pedicure I sat at the nail table where they informed me they dont do acrylic only the nail dipping which is $20 more. That fine buy why not tell me that when I first entered. They were all talking to each other in their language and looked annoyed with me as if I should have already known that. I mean what nail shop doesnt do acrylic?!?! All of a sudden this lady comes out with the acrylic. Im baffled!! Another lady who wasnt with me was like wait, I thought you all said you dont have acrylic. I said I wanted that and after you do my nails and make me pay more, you have it now. Needless to say she was upset but it was too late for me to go elsewhere so I stayed. My nails look awful and I also got twice by the drill and the nail file due to their rough filings as I am now bleeding from NY index and pinky finger. I wont be returning.

Even though my first and second experience wasn’t that great (the last time my dip nails were all scratched up because she kept touching them before they were dry but refused to fix them and one nail was crooked) I felt this place was better than others around and went back today for a third time. Well after waiting 45 minutes I asked AGAIN how long it would be until they could get to me and it was only at that point one lady they were short staffed. Every time I asked they kept saying “ten more minutes” well I was getting annoyed because they didn’t tell me up front there would be any wait at all. Finally after an hour I said I would come back tomorrow because I had other things I had to do today and I couldn’t wait any longer I didn’t think it would be an hour before they would even start on my nails. Well they try to tell me I have to pay $10 for simply soaking my nail polish off which should be included in the nail service and I was planning on getting dip nails but because they took so long I couldn’t. I told them I would just come back tomorrow after work and then the lady starts RECORDING ME on her phone and said I will call the police if you don’t pay $10. I said okay whatever I’ll pay the $10 but I will not be coming back. Sadly they made $10 but lost a customer for life. They should have been up front about the wait and I would have gladly came back tomorrow when I had more time but instead they acted very unprofessional and so I will NEVER be back. I don’t recommend this salon unless you have 2-3 hours to get your nails done and want less than okay service.

I came in and my nails broke the next day! Everytime I try to come in it’s some excuse on why they have no nail techs available. The salon is beautiful, which explains why I was fooled!I will NEVER come here again.I spoke with receptionist Tina and she is by far the best employee they have. The only one that clearly has knowledge about customer service.Needless to say, this salon is a joke. With the employees having a snooty attitude. You just lost a good tipper!

This place is amazing!! There is a licensed massage therapist where she does your 10 minute leg massage before your pedicure! They have about 20 or so pedi chairs so there is plenty of space. They also have alcoholic beverages!! I will get my pedis there from now on!!

Avalon nail Spa on Veterans in Metairie I had been patronizing this business for more than a year. The service I received on today was horrible I was treated very harshly by the person who told me he was the manager he told me his name was Son. I was cursed out by Him as well well. He told me F— you. I wanted to fast dry my nails and he turned off the fan charged me 5.00 to shape my nails never had I paid for this in the entire year that I patronized this business.

This is my second time at this new location. I usually go to this company on the Westbank, but they recently built a location in Metairie which is closer to where I live. Awesome right? Well the 1st time I came here it was during their soft open which they did a pretty good job catering to me and a friend of mine. I could tell they still had to get their system down, but that was okay and totally understandable. It was still a great experience and I was set on it being my new go to nail salon.Well me and friend came here today on our second visit at this location and immediately I got a bad vibe but I wanted to give it a chance. The receptionist checked us in and we proceeded to pick a color out for our pedicures. Before we even sat down, the receptionist is walking around on her cell phone, having a very personal and unprofessional conversation. Decide to let that go and continue with our girl day. Well the massage therapist, whom we passed in the parking lot hanging out her door smoking a cigarette, let us know that shes going to be doing a massage but wanted our feet to soak in water first. She then proceeds to sit in a chair on the side of us while she plays on her phone. Ok, kinda weird, but okay. She begins to massage my legs and her phone rings. She stops my massage to get her phone and places her phone between her legs and is looking down at her phone for majority of the massage. It was half assed and very unprofessional. Someone cant provide you great service when you do not have their undivided attention. I have never seen something like this before. When she went to massage my friends legs, her phone actually rang and she answered it. Like what?Not to mention, I found wax all over my legs and heels after the nail tech was finished with my pedicure. Very unprofessional and Im very sad because I thought this was going to be a place that I would visit often. Unfortunately, it will not be.
