I have been nothing but pleased with my experience with Dickson Brothers. All of the staff are very informative and helpful each time you go into the store. They greet you and are very responsive in getting you the help you need. I was having a difficult time with my pool and going back daily for help. The store manager Travis personally came over to see our pool and make a judgement call on what it needed so that our family could swim safe and comfortably… I was so pleased and thankful… Joe was very helpful in giving me steps and tips to keep the pool clean and how to maintain our pool. I’ve purchased pool chemicals from Dickson Bros. in the past, but I had never used any of their services. I had never bought any equipment from them either. Then came the Texas winter storm of 2021. It caused the majority of my pool equipment to crack and break. I had tried to use another local big name pool store to do some repairs in the past and was extremely disappointed, so I thought I would give Dickson Brothers a chance.From the first time that I went into the store to speak with them about new equipment, I was very impressed with the level of knowledge that Travis had regarding the pool equipment and every aspect of each product. He explained that in order to have my pool looking it’s absolute best, having my water as healthy as possible with the least amount of physical labor from myself, that I should get some equipment that would cost me a little bit more up front, but that over the long run, the equipment would pay for itself with the money I would save on electricity and chemicals. He was absolutely right. It’s only been a couple of weeks and I’m already using about 80% less chlorine than I did before.Joe was the technician who came out to install the new equipment. He was on time, and got right to work. I tried to clean up some mess I had left behind after draining the swamp that my pool had turned into since my equipment had broken, but he could see how utterly exhausted I was, and he told me just to go in and get some rest and he would take care of everything. The heat index that day was almost 110°, but he worked like a mule to get everything installed that day for me. He went over every detail of how to use the new equipment, and was very patient with all of my questions. I did have to call a couple of times because I had forgotten how to do a couple of things. Joe and Travis both would return my calls or emails very quickly, and my questions were answered thoroughly.My pool has NEVER looked as good as it does right now. The best part is that I barely have to do anything other than the weekly chemicals and brushing. Before using Dickson Brothers, it would take me hours every week to work on the pool and then I’d be miserable from the pain afterwards, and it never looked nearly as clean and clear as it does now.Dickson Brothers has earned a life-long customer in me because of their honesty, their hard work and integrity. You don’t see that in companies very often anymore. It’s nice to know that I can go to Dickson Brothers for anything related to my pool and I know that I’m gonna be treated as though I was family.

Travis and Joe and the rest of the Dickson Team completely renovated my ancient pump and plumping system from a poorly pieced milled system that my former service really hoodwinked me on. New system is about as hands-free as you can get. These are now my forever go to guys.

Dickson Brothers is outstanding. Everyone on staff provides superior customer service.We recently had major damage from snow storm and bitter cold temperatures. Our entire pool pump was destroyed due to extended power outages. Travis did a great job helping us with new equipment purchases and getting us on the repair list as soon they could. Joe was so great. He did all of our install and walked us through the process and how to use all the new equipment. They gave us a date and they stayed right on target and showed up on the exact date!! We fully expected to be pushed back just because things happens. Every time we’ve had other issues or chemical challenges they are there to walk us through. They have never tried to sell us anything we don’t need. They are honest, customer focused and LOCAL!! We try to always support LOCAL. This is our first pool to own. We wouldn’t have made it without the whole crew at Dickson Brothers. They are simply amazing.

Like many in the winter of 2021, I had some pool equipment freeze. I was able to find the parts and equipment I needed to make the repairs myself. When installing the new pool heater I had wired it incorrectly and couldnt get it to work. Although they had a full schedule of clients to repair, they worked me in in a relatively short period of time and Joe was able to quickly find my error and fix it. Very professional company with outstanding people!
We lost our pool equipment to the great freeze of Feb 2021. I immediately called Dickson Bros . I sent pictures to Travis and he was able to quickly provide me a quote. I got on their list and a week later Joe came out and installed all new equipment. Joe was very professional and knowledgeable and explained the new equipment and plumbing. I’ve been using Dickson Bros since 2000. Whether it’s pool supplies or just parts and guidance for DIY stuff, or major equipment repair and installation, I recommend Dickson Bros.
Called them Saturday afternoon and asked if they carried a particular pool pump. The person who spoke to me Mary was incredible and went far beyond what she needed to. Not only did she help me determine that I only needed the motor but in fact made sure my installer was equiped with the seal kit so that the seals could also be replaced. She spent a lot of time making sure I understood what was needed and actually looked at photos I sent to her over my I phone to double check. They had the item and it looks like my pool will be fixed in no time. I highly reccomend these folks.

This place is fabulous. Stephen and Tray came out yesterday to clean our DE filter. They knew I wanted to learn how to do it myself and explained every step of the process. They were clean and tidy and went out of their way to clean the filter is a less convenient location where they knew they would be able to easily clean up after they were done. Travis, back in the office, is always responsive and helpful. All around excellent!

2 sizes of 1 1/4”Are you aware 1 1/4” comes in 2 sizes? I have used 1 1/4” tubing and fittings for years. From Dickson Brothers, I bought a 50th roll of tubing marked 1 1/4”. Cut it to fit my pond and realizes it was too large for my fittings. Returned it and explained the problem, got a refund and $50 was deducted from my refund for cutting the tubing. “It says so right right there on the bottom on the ticket”. They have a big stack of the new 1 1/4” size so be aware.
Very helpfull staff, prices are higher than you can find online but I think its justified considering that if you need something right there and then, its good that you have a good chance of finding what you need to get things going versus waiting on a package delivery.
I went in looking for a replacement part for my filter, but realized they don’t make the part I needed anymore. Their manager, Travis, helped me pick out a new filter and spent time explaining very clearly how to install it myself. Really knowledgeable and really helpful staff, I’ll be coming back for any of my pool needs in the future!

I was not going to write anything besides giving this a star rating that I felt was appropriate until I read what the owner wrote in regards to my rating. Now Im writing this review a day after leaving the star rating that didnt have a comment and seeing the owners response that rating.I have no idea what the owner is talking about in regards to them not having a valve as that is not what I went in there for at all. This is a fine example of the business owner trying to portray that I the customer was not cooperative or understanding when in fact it was his/her employee that was not up to par. As mentioned earlier I was not going to type an explanation for the two star rating but I did not appreciate the lie he/she explained in their response. It was not my fault at all for the bad experience I had and was solely on the business. I almost always choose to shop and buy from local businesses even though I know most of the time it is going to be more expensive but now I see why people choose big box stores as the experience for me was not pleasant by going to this particular local business. Perhaps Ill stick to amazon as a click of the mouse always sounds better than someones poor attitude and poor motivation.

Our equipment was damaged in theTexas freeze of 2021. We figured no one would be able to fix our equipement for several weeks. We contacted Travis at Dickson Brothers. He was able to guide us to the correct equipment. He told us it would take 5 + weeks to get it installed because of the freeeze everything was backed up. He put us on a wait list and said if they had an opening he would call and schedule. Two days later he called and said there was a cancellation and could they come out and install. I am happy to say the new equipment was professionally installed and is working great. We have done business with them since the 1980s and they never disappoint.
They have almost every obscure item you can imagine for repairs. The rare times they don’t have what you need, they can almost always get it when others can’t. Friendly service, fun water displays, and solid advice for maintenance and repairs!
I have used the twice now, once in store and more recently to come out and repair a pump. Dickson Brothers has always been responsive, clear on what they thought the problem and solution looks like, including cost and timing. I find them a very good partner for a pool owner.
Had a very bad experience with Dickson Bros and its manager. The sales missed their promises a couple of times and failed to inform me the truthful information. But how the manager handled the conversation made the tipping point. The manager tried to apologize but it was the most insincere one that I personally received. When I tried to explain my situation, the manager asked me to stop lecturing him, several times! Kind of rude from someone who said he was apologizing, but showed impatience and disrespect. Cannot imagine this is the managers way to deal with a customer. Arrogant big shop!
I come here for all my pool supplies. They have everything you need and more. They will also test your water for free and let you know exactly what it needs. Ever since I been coming here my pool water has stayed crystal clear. Everyone is very nice and ready to help you with any questions you may have. Totally recommended this place!👍
I was told to plug in a motor to see if a bearing was bad would the two weeks. I went to another store. They tested it immediately and the new motor cost $50 less than Dickson Brothers was charging. Shop around
My husband and I inherited a koi pond when we purchased our new home. We knew nothing about taking care of such a large koi pond or fish, so we started looking into companies that could help us maintain it. My husband ran across Dickinson Brothers and decided to have them come out.A few weeks ago his crew came out to clean our pond. We paid $2,500 for the service and agreed to have the company come out every couple of weeks to maintain the pond. Our first red flag should have been when they charged us $800 extra for organizing the plants. They never informed us what the charge would be until after it was done. We let that slide and didnt mention it because we really needed a pond company and didnt feel like searching for another one. Also, my husband was pleased because the owner, Alan, knew that we knew nothing about caring for the koi pond and said we could call him anytime we had a question about anything. That put our mind at ease because we knew we would have a lot of questions as time went on.Cut to the unprecedented freeze Dallas recently experienced. Days before the storm hit, my husband called Alan about what we needed to do to ensure the fish would be OK and the filter would not freeze up. Alan never called him back. I then called Dickson Brothers and informed them that I was very concerned about what the freeze would do to the fish and pond and wanted to purchase some aerators and pond heaters from them. The guy told me that I would have to speak with Alan because he was familiar with the pond, but that they would be able to get us the aerators and heaters we needed. He assured me that Alan would be in the office any minute. We left our number and waited for him to call. Hours went by and we never heard from him. My husband again reached out to his cell and I followed up with his office. Again, they informed us that Alan would call us. We grew more and more concerned because we didnt know if we should trust that Alan would call us back and get us the aerators and heaters we needed in time or if we should go out and buy them. We continued to follow up to no avail.We ended up having to get up every 2 hours throughout each night to boil water in a pot and sit it on the pond to break up the ice. We then had to shovel chunks of ice out of the pond only to have it freeze back over and do it all again every 2 hours. We ended up having to pull all the ice out bare handed for 3 nights straight. During this entire time, Alan, nor anyone else from Dickson Brothers ever returned our calls.It has now been 10 days since we originally tried to get ahold of this company. Suddenly, one of the employees, (Francisco) randomly showed up on our doorstep Monday morning without notice. I went out to speak with him and told him how blown away I was that he would randomly just show up 10 days after we frantically called them for help. Mind you, he showed up when the weather was 62 degrees and pure sunshine. When I told him how mad my husband and I were, he just said OK and proceeded to leave-no apology.Im so happy we gave this company over $3,000 a few weeks ago. Its a crying shame that we couldnt rely on them during an emergency that will most likely never happen again in our lifetime. Even if Alan has the best excuse in the world for never returning all of our calls, their office had our number and someone should have followed up with us.**UPDATE: Alan called my husband this morning about our review and was INCREDIBLY RUDE!!!! He tried to claim he was upfront with the high cost for the aquatic plants (he most certainly was not). He didnt apologize or care about what happened, he only cared about the bad review and said hed be refuting it!!!! He called the review scathing. Apparently, the only way he’ll respond to you is if you leave him a bad review. He should have been more concerned that everything in this review is factual and that is no way to run a business or treat customers that have spent thousands with a company.**

Poor customer service. Spent $5200 on new pool equipment that all came with a warranty, and 8 months later the heater will not ignite. Called them for the warranty work, and I was then told the warranty was void because the equipment was not installed by a professional installer. Sure didnt get that information from them when they wanted my $5200. Besides. This totally didnt make sense because Jandy pays them for the warranty work. Also, it is worth noting that Amazon has better pricing by far.

When I called to set up an appointment to work on our pool equipment, we explained our issues and they asked for pictures so they could “be prepared” to fix our system. The day of our appointment they came out fixed NOTHING after saying they weren’t familiar with our equipment and said they “think” we need a complete new heating system and for this we were charged 165.00 for the diagnostic work.
Dickson brothers has great caring reps who will help you find the right solution. Pool stuff is excessively expensive no matter where you go at least here I feel like Im paying too much for the right things.

I know I can always count on dickson brothers when I need parts to repair my pool. They have the hard to find parts I need usually everytime! Staff goes above and beyond, letting me text them pictures to find out if they have it in stock before driving all the way there, etc. Even if I could get a better price, Id still shop here for the service, and peace of mind.
These guys are awesome! I sent a message at 10pm about a leaking booster pump and everything was fixed and functioning perfectly by 10:30am the very next day. I will definitely be doing business with them again.

A simple B1308 motor was $377. WOW! That will be the last time I get ripped off by them. Ill be sure and let Forney residents aware of this racket.

The guys at Dickson Brothers are great. My pool was super green and I had done everything I could think to correct the problem. I went to Dickson Brothers and spoke with Patrick and Travis who tested my pool watef and then gave me the chemicals and instructions. Within 3 hours my pool had already started going blue. The next day, my pool was clear and blue. Thank you to the staff at Dickson Brothers.
