Im always having connectivity issues with all my devices. Ive tried just using one thing at a time like they reccomended, still very poor speed and just loss of connection all together. Another tip was to make sure my wireless printer was off because that can also interfere with my connection, even if it through Im connected with an ethernet chord...

Last week Clueless in the Wilderness had a planned outage and didnt bother to send anyone an email so we could plan on not being in the middle of a conference call that I hosted. I talked with their tech support to confirm this. He said they needed to do some work on a tower. Then I wake up Saturday morning to no internet service again. Dont waste your time with these folks. They are just lousy service providers, or maybe they just dont care. I have a StarLink receiver sitting on my kitchen table that Im testing, that will be the end of terrestrial ISPs.

I was 100% planning on going with Wilderness as my ISP after my brother in law highly recommended them. We are building a new house in the country. I am an Energy Geek, so I was wanting to pay Wilderness to come out early and run the Ethernet cabling for the antenna through the attic before we put all the blown in insulation. Had an issue getting the abnormal installation scheduled, but before I knew it the president of the company called me to assure me Wilderness would be out the following business day. Spencer was out Monday and was awesome to work with. I see that they care about their customer. Excited to be a new customer.

How do you make a wifi service this bad, legit have 2 things hooked up to the wifi and its lagging harder than a man who just got off of a 12 hour flight while drinking 6 champagnes while on it. Matthew was amazing. We had been very frustrated for almost a month without getting internet to our devices. We had multiple calls with other service techs. Finally today, we got Matthew on the phone and he was very patient and clear about troubleshooting the issues. During the course of our discussions, he mentioned something that none of the other techs had mentioned. After a few questions by us and his clear direction, we are up and running again. Matthew is very much appreciated.

Wilderness Wireless has been great. Super quick and friendly installation. Seems like a great product too with good speeds and strong connections even when located out in the mountains. Definitely recommended for anyone in the Donnelly / McCall area.

So after having my service interrupted more than 10 times in less than a week I called customer service and after 20 plus minutes of being on hold I finally reached customer care. At that time I asked them to come up and take a look at their equipment to see what was wrong. They said theyd be happy to for a $65 fee. I couldnt believe they wanted to charge me for coming up to take a look at why theyre equipment was having a problem. I dont recommend these people at all!

At the time of writing of this email, I have 0.59 mbps download speed and 2.04 mbps upload speed. My ping is over 223ms. The download speed is roughly 1/25 the speed I pay $60/month for (15x6). I have dropouts of service. I can’t stream video, and teleconferences are nearly impossible. Ive been trying to get this resolved for close to a month now, and quite frankly I am getting upset.I understand that weather can be unpredictable and that sometimes there are technical problems that take time to resolve. What I don’t understand is how, after I report a problem (e.g. repeatedly slow internet) and get it resolved (temporarily), I then have the same problem the next day or a week later. You have previously provided me with stellar service. I have recommended you to friends, neighbors, and coworkers without hesitation. These last two months, however, have been horrid. I can no longer recommend you and will tell inquisitive folks about the problems I’ve been having.I prepay 1 year of service because I have faith that you’ll live up to your advertised “Dependable Internet for the Northwest.”Please improve the service here in Horseshoe Bend and provide me the service that I’ve paid for.

Almost weekly internet issues. You have to call them all the time and they are always shocked, stating “none of you neighbors are having issues”, even though we all talk to each other. Also, if your internet goes out on a weekend (like it has the last two weekends), there is no one on shift to troubleshoot the issues. Woke up this morning to my internet running at less than 1 mb... this is getting old.

Had service call and replaced radio and router. Was good for 2 weeks and now surprise, surprise last 3 night goes back out 7pm till the next morning. Claim its the wiring now and get upset that I say it goes out PRIME evening hrs and has nothing to do with wiring! Doesnt take a genius to figure out that the signal is dropping because of prime time use! I guess its my wiring....because it can tell time and shuts off ONLY at prime time 7pm! Ive been a customer of Wilderness Wireless (WW) for many years. I had one of those satellite company services before WW, and I had non-stop issues with weather and data-fairness (aka throttling). I contacted WW and asked about getting service to my area.My house is up a canyon that had no access to or visibility of any other antennas, so the prospect was slim. I knew the Basic install fee wasnt going to work for me. However, we worked a plan to bring service up the canyon and added several other people who needed reliable service.Over the years, there have been times when connections were troublesome. Sometimes they were related to power outages (either Idaho Power caused or Solar failures) and sometimes due to network equipment issues, like snow on dishes. However, WW reacts quickly to solve them, and spends significant time doing upgrades and routine maintenance to avoid them.Other issues occur in my home. I have a large number of internet enabled items (50+) in my house. My own router solution crapped out once, got confused a few times, and needed some expansions as well. Each time, these issues seemed like internet issues, but were quickly diagnosed as me issues. As my house is now the host for 6 or 7 other users, I am always paying attention to slowness or oddities and I report them to WW immediately. They are good at replying to my comments or simply bouncing some piece of equipment to solve it.Im thankful for my WW connection. With it, Ive cut my landline (with Ooma), cut my tv (from Directv), and solved my latency / limits (from HughesNet).

Reliability:Semi reliable, their network (not just me, but the area) has had more outages and service issues in the last 6 months than I have had with other ISPs in the last 10 years. It used to be very bad early on, high packet loss and high pings. This got better as their network stabalized, and outages where not as frequent. But the causes of some of these outages are not acceptable, such as forgetting to setup static routes...Im happy I dont need to operate an online buisness that relies on uptime. I do work from home though, so outages directly affect my paycheck.Customer Service:Customer service used to be great early on, I could get technical answers to technical questions. Now its just like calling any other ISP like Comcast where you have to call multiple times to finally get someone competent enough to understand the problem and your network setup. If you leave a voicemail, where they say they will call you back, you may or may not ever get a call back. Some of their newer reps are fairly rude. Is there no QA process for calls? I worked incallcenters for years, and the way some of these reps talk would be completely unacceptable.Network:They also seem to do DNS hijacking as well. DNSSEC fails for any DNS provider unless I VPN out, or use DNS over TLS. And am apparently only 2 hops away from any DNS server in the world, which also hints at forged responses.

No complaints about the installation they were great. The speed at first wasnt bad for the first few months. Since about March even though it is unlimited which is why we went with them its spotty and we have received e-mails about using to much bandwidth mind you I got unlimited for a reason so we can use it for our business and main reason we were tired of paying so much for TV. We only have 2 TVs they said no problem and I asked multiple times about it being unlimited again no problem and we could run up to 5 devices. There is times we cant run 2. Currently we have no internet(yes we are current on our bill) and hopefully its not for the entire 4th of July weekend as we need to send out billing.

If I could give these guys negative stars I would. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with.Basically, their site surveyor made an appointment to meet me at my property in Donnelly. I took the day off to meet him up there and drove up from Boise. He ended up arriving at the property early without notification and I missed him. There was a half ass effort to obtain a signal which failed. He left the property before our scheduled appointment and I wasted an entire day because of it.10 phone calls later to try to set up another time to meet this guy on my property have failed. The answer I get is the network engineers say that it is impossible for you to get a signal. This is BS because I have 4 neighbors around me that use this service and I have a direct line of site to 2 of their towers. What it comes down to is a complete lack of customer service. Horrible communication. And an absolute unwillingness to reschedule a time when I can meet them on my property to find a suitable spot for a signal. If you have a choice looks elsewhere. Hughs Net is a way better option. These guys are amateurs and fly by night. Total morons.IN RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE:So let me get this straight. I take time off work to be at my property to meet with your installer. He arrives early. Does a survey in a few spots and fails. When all he really has to do is go up the hill to a clearing and try there where I know that Two towers are visible. But he would not know that because he did not keep our appointment and quit early for the day. Basically making me waste a whole day and a trip from Boise. Many months later and after at least 10 phone calls to your crappy customer service I get told that you are not even willing to try to meet at the property again. Your damn right I was rude! This process of dealing with your company has been an absolute joke!Every attempt I made to talk to someone that would be at least willing to get at installer up there with me was met by a brick wall. Even after explaining that I have a better spot to try on the hundreds of acres that I own.Perhaps you should look at how frustrating it is to actually get ahold of a person at your fly by night operation. And how you might actually try to work with people instead of blowing them off for months at a time and then criticizing them when they hurt your feelings.I am sorry but you guys f***** this up. Not me!

This is a pretty decent company, by far the best service you could hope for in Boise County. I really wish I could give 5 stars, but there are a couple of areas with room for improvement. Their speed is the best you can get where I live, no competition there, and the price may seem a little steep, but our only other options are satellite internet companies who have slower speeds and usually charge over $100 a month. So, Wilderness Wireless wins out for speed and price. They do have some intermittent down times from time to time, which is understandable where we are, so I cant fault them too much. My only real complaint is customer service; its not that its neccisarily bad, persay, but they do not get back to you in a very timely fashion. Sometimes if you submit a ticket for an issue a reply can come weeks, or even months, later. That is all thats stopping me from giving 5 stars, otherwise these guys are pretty great!

It actually pains me to change my review for this company. Where we live, our options are VERY limited, so we are basically at the mercy of the service providers we can obtain. I cant explain the lack in consistency of our service, other than the start of the Covid causing more people to be home, thus slowing our service down to a crawl. Streaming an occasional movie is almost impossible anymore. Download speeds clocked at .35 to 2.3 MBS caused me to send an email to the company around July 10th, to which Ive yet to even get a courtesy response (its now Aug 2nd). My wife called a little over a week ago and actually spoke to someone who said that something was definitely not right, but she hasnt gotten a call back either.I dont know if we live on the fringe of reliability from there tower south of Marsing on Hwy 95 or what. I did ask they verify the service before going with them as a company, but something has definitely changed over the last three years. My wife is a teacher, and if the school requires online classes this fall, shes in for a lot of frustration with the service we currently have.****** 3 years ago****Had an awkward start with Wilderness Wireless, but having been able to obtain their service into our home, there was a very noticeable difference in speed over the DSL from Frontier. We were actually, for the first time, able to stream a movie without any hesitation or loss of quality during the whole movie.Kudos to Jamison and Mike who installed the system. Very courteous and very professional.Have only had the service running for 5 days, but its been very reliable so far.
