Worst customer service ever. The owner was so rude and mannerless. He charged more than what was written in the menu. When we asked, he came up with a ridiculous explanation. He pointed out to a small piece of paper hanging over the counter where it is written that prices have increased. He had the audacity to say that we should have read the notice on the counter which was not even big enough to catch one’s eyes. Why would someone go to the counter when the waiters take orders after customers haven taken seats? When they gave us the menu, they didn’t say anything about the price increase. They are nothing but a bunch of fraudsters who will steal your money. Never going back to this place.
I know a restaurant can have an off day, but Ive eaten here 3 times for their buffett. Its been delicious all 3 visits with a great variety, delicious and fresh food. I went yesterday with my family, and they didnt disappoint. They have a very clean dining area, and clean bathrooms as well. They had many food options all piping hot and just made. Their fruit and desserts were to die for as well. They offer delicious Chinese Cuisine as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
We occasionally go to this restaurant since they used to have good foods. Today, we had the worst experience and not going anymore. We ordered 4 items today and when they prepared the bill, every items price was $3 or $4 more than the price in the menu. When I asked why is this so, the owner showed a small piece of paper hanging at the counter, which says, because of the rising cost of things they will charge more. The waiter did not tell us anything about that. The owner was very rude and arrogant, did not apologize, rather he pretends we should be aware of this beforehand. The toilet was dirty and there was no soap at the toilet. Stay away from this place. These dishonest people will steal your hard earned money, if you do not notice.
Very bad service. We went around 9pm knowing that timing is till 11pm, and there was an ongoing reserved buffet. There were no other customers, and that itself was telling. The staff then acted like they were doing a huge favor by serving us. It would have been perhaps better had they outright closed it. The food items appeared precooked, and lacked any zing. We ordered multiple items on seeing seemingly reasonable prices. Later, the bill showed that every item was charged more. When we enquired from the server, he mentioned that the menu was old, and the prices have only increased by a $1-2 for each item. At least, it was utterly misleading of them to show wrong prices.
Weekend buffet is the best. They stopped serving buffet on weekends after the pandemic. They started the buffet recently again. The good part is there is a person who serves the food. We are not supposed to touch any of the serving spoons. This is a good saftey protocol and not much food is wasted as well. The person who was serving that day didn’t serve to the people without masks no matter what. It would be good if they has two people for serving the food.
PROThe food was awesome! We did a la carte. Buffet only on weekends. The goat and lamb were perfectly marinated and not overcooked. The sauces were on point. If they had the spicy vinegar dip I once had at an Indonesian plane abroad, then my goat biryani wouldve been perfect. The portions are hearty and tasty, that I accidentally finished my order :)Ive traveled a lot and my complaint with international foods in the US is that most are watered down in terms of flavor and/or totally wrong dish than from the place of origin. This place, served authentic tasting dishes. They also have the usual nuggets for kids and Indo-Chinese food. Might give those a try next time.We are the sole customer last night, the waiter was kind and attentive and even made us comfortable with our children along.CONThe Dali ____ (allegedly donuts) were the only weird thing, it was not what we expected, but edible. Its not cheap, but not too expensive. Its not a fine dining place, basic design, but clean and spacious enough.
Nice place. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Would definitely go there again!!
Good taste but very rude n poor service. No hygiene and no cleanliness. Even the owner will be rude.
Dont waste your money here! food is gross.. the staff is rude af including the owner of the place and his restaurant is disgusting! dirty old chairs! They force people to get a buffet on the weekends and it looks disgusting old gross food with limited choices! 0 professionalism.. How hard is it to keep your restaurant clean and hire proper management/servers! every desi owned restaurant lacks this! if they do let you order food outside of the buffet it will take like 5 hours to come out of the kitchen!
Went there for for iftar dinner took friends with me. They had a buffet for iftar. Nice selection of food . Appetizers, grill food, rice, noodles, and different dishes finishing up with couple of choices of dessert. Food was fresh and hot. Staff was very attentive. Overall very good experience. I chose this restaurant because i had a good experience previously did my wedding reception there .
Placed an order for 2 appetizer on the phone. Went after 20 minutes, waited another 25 minutes to get them. Monday night not even busy inside.
I went in on Saturday night and they werent even ready with the buffet. I was told to come back at 8pm and the manager quickly chaned his mind and said come back at 7. It was 6pm at this point. There was no sign stating 7pm. They usually welcome people at 6pm. The place looked dark and was empty but it wass open. The 2 servers as well as manager seemed disinterested that my friend and I were even visting. I have been there before for the buffet but I am not sure I will go back.
Great food. Glad we found this place at night.
Lot of food on buffet. But the quality is not so good. It seems more like a community hall rather than a restaurant . The rest room is dirty. Staff is watching passively and look very lazy
No body want to pick up the phone, I order through Uber and 3 driver drop the orders and the I get cold food. I order here all the time but the customer service can really use some help.
Staff who serve the food was very rude. They don’t take care of the guest. They started buffet and one or two person serving the food. I even don’t want to give 1 star due to very bad service for guest. I would not come again. Food was also not good looks stale and fresh. Haleem and Biryani was just good. Staff should get some training to talk to the guest properly or serve them at least better. Very disappointed even my child who is 6 year old did not like them talking or serving food.
Excellent food. Afghan tikka dishes. Mango Lassi was great. The best vegetable samosa Ive ever ever had! Loved the rice too. Im use to white rice served with Indian, Bengali food but Tabaq Masala was 10x better and healthier too since it wasnt white rice. They had friendly, quick service and excellent prices. Didnt give it 5 stars because it looks a little dated. But if you went by how it looked alone then youd miss out on the best food ever! I will definitely go back again, if not to eat-in, definitely for takeout! The best tasting samosas Ive ever had!
Very tasty food. I am from the region and familiar with the cuisine. They did a good job on what we ordered - Karahi Gosht, Chicken Tikka, and Tadka Daal. Naan (I ordered plain) was also very good. The place was kind of quiet though - it was a Wednesday evening. I had food at the nearby Roti Boti the day before and this was certainly better.
Im coming here every week with my family. My kids really likes Pakistani food. I hope next time they will charge me less because of my 5 STAR Review. BROTHER THIS IS ME GUY WITH A 7 kids😉
Nice place to dine, they’ve variety of food
Good food and nice selection for Iftar and dinner.
The sesame chicken and general Tsos chicken were both very tasty. The chicken lollipop was brilliant. Overall my family and I had a great experience because the food was delicious and the service was excellent. They really went above and beyond to make us feel valued as a customer. Will return when I am back in town again. 10/10.
I ordered the chicken karahi, soooo good 🤯
Lots of variety but little taste...
I give this restaurant only 1 stars. 1st it’s very expensive .2nd they serve old food maybe some of the food is freshly prepared but not all.3rd their service is so bad. There was only one guy was working he was taking a long time I guess it wasn’t his fault because he was just one person who was serving. 4th the owner was just sitting there watching news I was like seriously if you are not doing anything go home and watch your news.there was so many things that we didn’t like at all.I wish someone open a good Pakistani restaurant.and we had kids with us and their food was soo spicy .it’s not for the kids at all. Bad bad service.bad food.
Awesome, love to go there.
This place is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. The staff and everyone are so sweet. I’ll deff come back again.
Went for an engagement and when we entered none of the employees seemed to care to direct us. We werent sure where the party hall was. We realized it couldnt be in the empty restaurant so we looked around and found a door to go up narrow steps and found the party hall. It was enough space but with poor lighting and old decor and furniture. The food was absolutely tasteless and had no spices. It didnt even look appetizing.
Ordered food ahead, when I got there for pick up I was told the order wasnt entered into the system. Theres always a lag at this place everytime I place an order. Disappointed as my lunch was cut short.
Food was good never had this type of cuisine it was delicious the guy helped me pick the perfect dish excellent meal
They have very good variety of foods
Super friendly staff, dont allow the rustic interior to fool you, this restaurant serves some seriously delicious food.
Great restaurant. Absolutely, one of the best desi food.
Quality of food is just okay .
One of the best restaurants. I and my family always go here to celebrate and eat on small occasions.
Food was excellent but the service was pretty bad. A server came 20 minutes after we sat down. Food took an additional hour.
I admire this place! They offer first-rate meals, their menu is nice, The cook in that place is a specialist, I like very much trying all their food. The dishes are consistently fresh, the attitude towards the clients is good. I often eat in this place and I was never discontended. I highly recommend it.
Loved everything. Delicious food. Clean environment. Helpful staff. Great prices. Highly recommend. Each dish was great. My daughter said it hit her soul! We live 3 hours away and cant wait to go back.
Incredibly good buffet! Some of the best Pakistani food in the area. Everything tasted very authentic and super delicious! The restaurant looks really clean and the service was wonderful!
Got a bunch of takeout, we were both sick immediately after eating half the food. Threw the rest out. Food was doused in oil, had almost no flavor. The restaurant is very dirty and run down. Won’t ever come again. Do not recommend.
Absolutely the most delicious desi food.
Authentic Pakistani Food...best chicken lollipops, chana masala and rice pudding
We come here at least once a month and have always found the food to be excellent. Never had an order that was messed up. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff is kind and prompt.
Good arrangement, clean and courteous servuce
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. We liked the excellent ambience and the food. The staff members are very personal. I’m glad we ultimately managed to eat here.
Food was good, and a little spicy. The one star isnt for that; its for the abysmal service they had. We had a reception event here, and for about 100 people this place only had 1 waiter/server. Poor guy was running around like a headless chicken. Furthermore, bathrooms were disgusting, the doors didnt lock and all toilets were clogged except one! If youre running a banquet hall, least you could do is keep the bathrooms nice and clean, and have actual locks on them.
Good place. Good food. Used to have a buffet on the weekends before COVID-19. Good portions. Tell them how much heat you can handle! Its not marked like the Chinese menus Kinda pricey, but there arent many like them unless you drive at least 40 minutes. So its once a month or so.
Finest place to have food when in a hurry. The customer service is speedy, rates are affordable, great vibes. I highly recommend this place
Food is good, however management is awful. If you are planning a party or any family gathering/event. Make sure you double count the people in there because they always count 5 or more extra people and charge you extra including children. That happened to us twice. Never again we are having any event there.
Most of the items not good in taste. No good service . Especially don’t go after 4 pm est
Great tasting halal Pakistani food. They offer a buffet which includes Chinese dishes as well. Theres something for everyone. Whether youre looking for something tandoori or curry. Theyll have it in the buffet. Not to mention vegetarian options as well. And while there, dont forget to try their Mango Lassi. Its simple delicious.
Never ate there. Had a flat tire and pulled into there spacious lot to put on the spare. Looks rustic so I hope the food is fire!
Excellent food!! if you are a foodie and love quality Indian food, then this is your place to go!! try the biryani and kebabs especially. they have a huge collections of buffets items as well.
Owner very friendly, food is awesome. I have been coming here for past 2 years, originally from Chicago. Very nice, clean and tasty food. best in Connecticut ... I drive 30 minutes to eat a fresh delicious Desi food. Sunday night buffet has tons of variety for AMY he entire family
Ordered a large take out from this place when my wife and I were staying in a hotel in Meriden. Large selection of items on the menu. Food was pretty good and prices were decent. The inside was packed with people during dinner buffet. Didnt find a parking spot during the dinner rush. Was not too much of an issue for me since I ordered a takeout.
Great place for Indian/Afghani/Pakistani food. Tried the buffet and it was really good. Must try Curry chicken and Lamb. Hands down the best curry chicken in Hartford county. There where lots of people for dinner and prices are very fair. They also have a to go option of kebobs and grilled meats - thats what Im trying out next time. Definitely on my places to come back list
Best Buffet Around
One of our go to restaurant. Good food, huge buffet and decent service. A good place to eat with family and friends.
The food is amazing. Fresh vegetables and the meats are so yummy. Spice and the different heat levels are on point. The deserts are always perfect. The waiters are so nice and the owner is always making sure customers are satisfied.
It used to be The best buffet (per my opinion) in CT. I have visited at least 20 Indian restaurants for Indian/Pakistani lunch buffet & this was by far the best. Cost little higher, $19 PP.However, post pandemic visited again this resutrant on 2021 March as soon they opened. But seriously disappointed with the buffet & service. May be after a break they have reopened, so everything was not mangaed properly. Hoping to get a feel of same old standards on next visits.Top picks from buffet:Starter - French Fry, Mixed Kabab, Chicken Tandoori.Chineese section - Chicken 65, Noodles.Mughlai Section - Biriyani, Chicken Haleem.Desert - Kheer, Halwa.
Like going there with phamily
Average food quality! Could be better.
Buffet had a lot of chicken starter options. The flavors were wide.
Very high priced buffet with poor quality, desi food is ok but Chinese is terrible. You would think for 18/ person they will at least give you good size kabab instead of tiny pieces, the best thing was gajar halwa
Buffet was excellent
I have called two times to place an order and I have been told that they would not allow me to place an order to carry out. What a great customer service they provide here. I know I’m never going or calling this place again. Horrible poor customer service
Had hakka noodles and szechuan noodles both were really good. I dont like seekh kabab it taste like you are eating packaged food. Afghani tikka kabab was also really good
Very bad customer service, manager was Rude, we went for buffet but there wasn’t enough food also, keep asking and the manager saying just coming then bring little much not enough. Also the floor was so Dirty...
Food & service was great. They have a very extensive menu & our host ordered a wide variety of food. I got stuck next to my cousin who doesnt eat much so I had to cut back. This place is on my list to return to when I come back to Connecticut (God Willing)
Regular place. Food stands out as usual! Love their chicken lollipops.
I order food for displays when I check in the home this food is not fresh food I don’t know why the salad old food and this time COVID-19 I never buy again
Food was awesome.. A must try restaurant. Would recommend for weekend buffet..😊😊
Asked to refill a dish and the owner very rudely replied I shouldnt ask but get what he gives. Except couple of dishes other dishes are not eatable.
Paid $66 for 3 person buffet. How much per person? Food was cold all around & very tasteless. Please for such price keep the promise otherwise reduced buffet to $ 12 instead $20.
We had the dinner buffet. The food and various flavors were delicious. I was so pleased, I decided I would write a review. Before writing my review, I did read some of the others.. I was very surprised to see such negative comments but most of them were over a year old. The service was fine, the buffet was huge, the food was very tasty. The atmosphere is okay so then you can dress casual. Give this restaurant a try especially for the weekend buffet, you will be glad you did.
Ive been to MANY Indian food restaurants. This place had subpar food. It wasnt tasty or even tasted like real Indian food. I wont go again unfortunately. The waiter was somewhat polite. Oh & the bathrooms were disgusting. I should have known from that, their priorities are all wrong.
Nice restaurant. Great taste. Good buffet
Good food and experience. It was my first time having this type of food and it was delicious. Luckily i had a friend who knew the menu and gave great pointers on what to try
Yummy and deleshies food
Water glass was really dirty I have to ask for a clean one. water pitcher was also dirty. Food was in the very spicy side, a bit to dry out from being out. Waiter wasn’t friendly nor attentive. Restaurant is dated, not a clean pleasant place to eat. I would definitely not recommend this place.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. They have good varieties of kababs. Their Indo-Chinese foods are very good, too. One of the reasons I love this place is the prayer room. But they should seriously work on improving cleanliness. The room at the far end is damp and dirty. The walls are covered with thick molds at the bottom. We were sent to that room for prayer we went last time, since a big party going on and they didnt have enough space for prayer. I hope they will renovate that area to avoid such inconvenience.
Very bad service and take way too much time to serve the food. Do not recommend to eat there. The good quality is also not good.
I happened to visit this place it has everything but taste. Seekh kabab size is half of the regular size and tasteless with full price which I think is RIP off. Bread was just okay. With my take out order they didnt add any lettuce, sliced onion or cucumber which normally other restaurants put without asking. I would not go back again. BTW that was my first time I visited this place just to see how they are doing but disappointed.
This is 1 of 2 places in CT that we frequent for Pakistani/Indian food. Absolutely DELECTABLE, home-spun fare! & desserts!
Tabaq Masala is a prime example of a restaurant that has deteriorated their food quality aver the years. I was a big fan of the place when they first opened in 2012. They took pride in the quality of their food, be it the buffet or A la Carte back then for a couple of years. Fast forward to 2019, we came back to experience their food since we moved to MA and were utterly disappointed. We came for the Saturday and nothing tasted good except for their signature kheer (dessert). A lot of food coloring in the chicken items, no taste whatsoever, but there are people coming to eat. This is a review of a foodie who has known what they delivered then and now.
Excellent food. Lot of varieties in buffet for meat lovers. Must visit if you are looking for good quality non veg options in your weekend buffet. If you are a vegetarian, options are really limited.
The buffet was amazing! So many options and everything was fresh 👌will go back for sure!
This is the best Indian pakistani cuisine you can find around. Food is very yummy and delicious. Buffet has many options, specially with the price range they offer. I go there every Sunday as this place also offer Chinese cuisine. Its definitely worth of try if you havent.
Unbelievable price over charge especially for the kids that food very spicy for kids!!!!!
Good food.Friendly people. Chicken 65 was really good must try dish.Heads up before ordering the quantity will be bit low.
Love this food, so tasty. Each time when Im in CT, i always eat in this place. Worth every penny you spent. Only restroom sometimes needs more attetion.
Amazing selection. The owner is very fair and caring of the quality. The service is best with fast service. The food is fresh always. Good experience and a good staple of the Indo-Pak Chinese cuisine. I recommend this place.
The best hakka (indochinese fusion) food north of New York City. The buffet is incredible and only 16 dollars.
