We have been literally homeless for the entire month of August with no air and no resolution. Our lease is up in October and we will definitely be moving. They have come out to our home 20 times since 2018 just for the AC alone. That doesn’t include all of the other issues we have had since moving in. We have been forced to sleep in our car because they haven’t relocated us or resolved the issue. The current temperature in our home is 96 degrees. They have conveniently closed all of their local offices so there is no one to discuss/resolve this issue in person and you can only talk to a representative from out of state when you call and they offer no real solutions. We have young children and a dog and there is absolutely no reason that we should be going through this. They show little empathy and little concern for the fact that we are in a crisis situation because of them. I could go on and on about how we have been treated but I’ll stop here. I would warn anyone looking to rent through this company to RUN the other way.
They bought the house I lived in...I moved out within weeks of the purchase..2 months later I cant get my deposit and all I get is lies when I call about how its taken care of and it will be sent out. I dont recommend unless you like dealing with people in a different part of the country with no idea about your houseUpdate: now they are saying I never gave notice and I owe 2 mo ths rent..even though they sent the new notice to my new address that they got off THE EMAIL THAT SAID I WAS MOVING..I repeat never ever ever ever use this company they are a complete fraud and will try to screwyou
Have a wife and a one year old daughter. The lease agreement said they would have all major appliances in the home before move in. It has now been two weeks and still nothing. The people at main street just ignore it and tell us be patient. Meanwhile we can’t keep food or milk for my daughter in our house. Leasing company is owned by a bunch of incompetent children. ***** DO NOT MOVE INTO ONE OF THERE HOUSES. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING AFTER YOU SIGN THE LEASE.****
As of 9/2/21 my AC currently still isn’t fixed and it originally went out a week ago on 8/26/21. I’ve had no communication on when a vendor was coming out to fix my AC or anything. Every time I call I get the run around from Main Street or just an quick lie to get me off the phone, issues still not fixed . I’ve been relocated one for two nights but my ac still isn’t fixed .
The hot water heater went out 9/9/2021 and we were told it would take until 9/15/2021 before an approval would be made to repair or replace the water heater. Can not plug up the hot water heater because wires are frayed and this is a fire hazard. Spoke with someone named Victor who said he was a supervisor and was told nothing would be approved before the 9/15/2021. Soooo in the meantime our family is without hot water. Totally disappointed!!! Oh yeah, and by the way,we are still waiting a part for the refrigator from over a month ago. Stay away from this company if you can. Poor Customer Service!!!!!!! I would give them a ZERO if I could.
So far, they just bought the property we reside in. For my first work order, we have a problem that has not been fixed for nearly a week after Ive reached out several times. U finally got a response, but it will take more days for the problem to be fixed while we are suffering in 88 - 91 degrees heat in the house. I dint like that you have to be on hold for nearly 10 minutes before someone calls you back or answers & you can text & wait for someone to text you back & forth. Especially when its an emergency. For the future, the rating may get better results. Our first experience is not good. Too many people to talk to just to find out if somethings going to get fixed & when.
So far Ive enjoyed my home. Moved here in June. April has been very helpful.
Getting much needed repairs is like pulling teeth from a lion. As I type it is 86 degrees in the house and 76 outside. Vendors lying like they have contacted you when they havent. Some of th fees that are charged for maintenance is ridiculous. When we first moved in the property it was wonderful it feels like thats only done to Bait you in. We will definitely be moving once this lease is up. If you are viewing a home inspect it for yourself before signing the contract.
Was told the place was “available now”, just to tell us upon approval it’llbe ready in two weeks. Two weeks pass and we move in it’s no appliances and no hot water. Move in was September 9 and we still don’t have hot water and instead of providing updates we literally have to contact you all for them. And on top of that no one takes the time to let us know things ahead of time, we found out yesterday we needed to send you all a copy of the lights in our name or get fined 50 bucks
So far, my fiancée and I have had a great experience. We are currently waiting on our code to retrieve our keys for move in. Despite the agents working from home and out of the office, someone has always been available to speak with for concerns, or have always emailed back promptly. Thank you Main Street Renewal!Update: we got our code and keys yesterday and are in the process of moving in! Great experience for us!
Repairs are the worst! Then most of the 3rd party vendors clains they come, while I sit waiting all day not to show up on time or not show up! You can say theres a problem & they will send maintenance to take a picture & u never hear from them again!
Update: no hot water, no air conditioning, stove is not heating, microwave not working. I have a newborn! They never fix anything I wouldn’t recommend them to a animal! They don’t care, they only care about the money. It’s no way to even reach them for an emergency! I am not renewing my lease!
I moved in on March 6 2020 and since day one one of there homes had electrical problems and the fans didn’t work. I had to give them multiple notices about the home and they never fixed it. Then I gave my notice that I was moving out on March 5 2021 because my lease was up. And they are trying to charge me for the full month of March when I was only there for 5 days. Every time I call they never answer. I still have yet to get an answer from them. Even in emails. Would not use this company at all.
The houses are always cleaned and the carpet smells amazing. The houses are move in ready for the most part and you can find just what you are looking for in all the major areas. I tell everyone I know that needs a home to rent or lease. Thanks for allowing me to share my experience
Stacey Spratlin in the Memphis office has been so super helpful with helping us navigate the rental application process. She responds quickly and thoroughly and is a great resource. Even though mainstreet is a larger company, Stacey provided individualized customer care with knowledge and professionalism yet was so personable and courteous. We can’t thank her enough and we’re glad mainstreet has employees like Stacey in Memphis that care about their residents and future residents having a good experience.
I’m not really sure if I’m the right one to leave a review on the actual company. It has issues with the move-in process, which is also understandable because payments do take a three business days to go through but we had done that, But there is some type of miscommunication between the different departments and the actual customer service representatives. Dealing with this company already I have very low standards, for they allowed me to be homeless for no reasons at all for three days Claiming I had a remaining balance due and had actually overpaid. Thankfully, Denver and Omar were exceptional. Those two men cared deeply about my situation and apologized numerous times for the inconvenience. Denver spent about an hour on the phone with me writing notes and asking me different series of questions and going through my files to make sure I have all of the information needed and so did the company to get me moved in today. About 1 o’clock in the afternoon I called again and spoke to Omar explain the situation and he simply put me on hold to talk to his supervisor and gave me the keys/code to my home. Those two exceptional men deserve a reward for dealing with my hysterical state of mind and never was it an issue to help ease my mind; they deserve a raise. As long as they are a part of this company I have faith that I will have a exceptional experience in my home but god forbid they lose them because that’s the best customer service representatives they have.
We have been without ac since June 17th and still cannot get a new unit when the vendor keeps telling me that we need a new one, have tried 2 hard starts and nothing, soo over this… I’m on the phone now acting as mediator between the vendor and realty company and it’s frustrating
I wish I could leave negative stars. Please take all these negative reviews seriously. I did not and I wish I had. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Communication from the office is AN ABSOLUTE JOKE and they would rather be cheap than take care of their residents. I have had to continually call to follow up on the same maintenance request because a week will go by and no communication. I was charged an insurance non-compliance fee when I have had active insurance in my time living here. When calling the Memphis office, they couldn’t give me any answers and they said they would have someone from the corporate office who handles the insurance reach out to me, well it has been over a month and nothing.I have put in repeated work orders for the drainage issues in my backyard for MONTHS. We moved into a house because we wanted our dogs to have a backyard to play in rather than having to take them to the park or walk them on a leash and have not been able to use the backyard since September because our dogs will be covered in mud. We moved in August 2019 and I noticed the backyard has some odd weedy growths and some possible problematic sloping. Once a few rains happened, it was apparent that the yard had MAJOR drainage issues. Middle of August I contacted the office over the phone (now wishing I had it writing) regarding the trench that started to form and they told me to put it on my 30-day work order list which I submitted in September. The MainStreet maintenance guy politely informed me that the backyard would be an outside vendor job and that it probably will take a little longer to get it approved. Well after much hounding and stress from my end, FIVE MONTHS later and SEVEN work orders later they finally approved for vendors to come out. The vendor did not contact me, and the office did not contact me even though the asst. manager said they would keep me updated and “personally call me” as soon as they know something. The vendors came out on Jan 17 and did the work while I was not home. I came home to see fresh dirt in my backyard, but I have NO IDEA what was done because that next day the back yard is flooded again. It seems like the investors/whoever the powers-that-be would rather not spend money on their properties to keep tenants long term because I can assure you we will not be staying in this home and will never rent from MainStreet ever again.I have attached photos of the backyard after they fixed itOn a positive note:Corey in the Memphis office has been amazing and as helpful as he possibly can. I know there are only so many things he can do being the on resident care team and he has done his best to try to get something done for me. The issues in this company lie at the top and they do not deserve his excellent customer service!
If I could do 0 stars I would.. worst company I have EVER signed a lease with, my husband broke his back and I had a baby and got layed off and they did not see that as a hardship for us to get out of the lease all of this happening and us deciding to leave majorly because the dish washer leaked all over our home and flooded a lot of the floors, the carpet was coming up when we moved in on the doorway of bathroom I tripped when I was pregnant, and we had some odd alarm going off that took them 2 days to get out there and this alarm would go off every hour for like 4 mins and wake my baby up it was miserable, they don’t care about their tenants at all! And they do not help you! DO NOT RENT HERE!
Hot water heater is just patched up they never fix anything, three months ago maintenance came by to fix the door he only took pictures and left and put in record that he fied it the door was broken when moved in they propped the house during walkthrough to remain open but screws and frame was loose. this is my second breakdown with water heater you can tell there is rust and deterioration at base been without hot water for two weeks I heard such good things about them 10 years ago WHAT HAPPENED!!!!
Thank you Stacy for helping me. You were very helpful and quick in your responses. I appreciate your communication and help providing me with a new home. You being informative and quick with your response has helped my relocation process to be smooth. Again thank you 😊
I SAW AND CONQUERED. Main Street Renewal were responsive to my needs in a very efficient and professional manner. I saw a house on Sunday. I called about the house on Sunday. I put an application in a Sunday. The company investigated me and within 48 hours, I receive my approval notice. I absolutely love the house and its perfect for my husband and I. Thank you Main Street Renewal for your Professional Service.
I have lived in this house for 5-1/2 years now and I signed a renewal lease in January but they never counter signed it! I’ve been having to pay the month to month rate for 4 months now and no one seems to be able to fix the situation. I have spoken to 5 different people and tried to speak to a supervisor that never calls back. If I had other options at this moment, I’d pack up and leave immediately! So done with these fools!
I’ve spent over $200+ in applications and been denied twice for reasons I do not know and even they don’t know. In the email of the denial they claim their property manager staff denied it but when I call to try and figure out why I’m denied so I can try to fix it they start to tell me a third party service reviews their application and it’s “disclosed” information and they can’t tell me. If I pay hundreds of dollars I expect to know why I’m denied. Because at this point I’m paying all this money to be told no. Not a very professional and responsive company in my opinion.
This has been the worst experience of rental property. I have requested for several maintenance issues and it takes weeks for to be resolved. I have three big holes in the backyard and no one came out to fix it. The air conditioner and heating doesn’t work. The plumbing is terrible.
If I could give negative stars, I would. This company is a joke. The maintenance team, no matter how urgent the issue is won’t come out for DAYS. Last year I didn’t have hot water for 4-5 days. Hot water and water pressure is gone and they’re saying I’ll get an appointment within 1-2 days. I needed it done yesterday. Piss poor service. Never rent from this place. From the day we moved in we’ve had issues with this company. We should have left after the first year.
It was such a pleasant experience working with April Myers!! Her professionalism was everything!!
They do not respond to service calls. My friend has been without got water for a week and main street renewal will not return his calls nor have they approved a new waterheater for him. Two years ago his furnace stopped working and they left him with no heat for almost a week. If you want to rent a property stat away from this company all they want is your money. They are slumlords and a horrible company
The response time is faster and they come right out to fix the issues!
Main issue still not resolved. currently have two tickets open and have not been completed.
.Very very nice and caring and kind . Very professional
Such a beautiful home but managed by a poor leasing company. I sent a thorough and detailed list of things with images as PROOF that were neglected or needed attention 2 days after I moved in. I will say the guy they sent did what he could but 2 of the 6/7 issues I listed have yet be resolved. The home has holes in the walls, leaking roofs, and was dirty upon move in with an unattended yard! I have an email from the Care Team admitting that the vendor they used neglected “the back yard” and then had the nerve to ask for pictures again. Stacy assured me that the home would be move in ready, which was a lie! If I had known that I definitely would have stayed where I was. I’ve emailed the care team 3x and have yet to hear back. They rarely answer their phones and the only remedy the agents offer is to “submit a maintenance request.” I’ll be having one of my colleagues whom are attorneys to give their counsel a call because this is absolutely ridiculous.
Very professional and quick to answer any questions or concerns that you may have! They treat you like a person instead of just a number. They honestly care. I would definitely recommend Main Street Renewal to anyone looking for a new residence!Sincerely,Rich Slinger
I just rented a home with Main Street Renewal and my experience with this company has been great. Stacy from the Memphis office was awesome. She was very professional and kind. She went above and beyond in helping me rent a home for me and my kids. If I ever need to rent again then I would not hesitate to rent from this company. If you are looking for a place around the Memphis or Bartlett TN area then ask for Stacy you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much!
Stacey Spratlin is sooo wonderful! She went above and beyond to make sure My daughter and I got into a home we liked! We are thankful for her diligence and kindness!
My leasing agent was great!!! Stacy you are awesome. Thanks so much :)
Gabriella is AMAZING! What I have asked 6 others for over the past 6 months, she accomplished in about 60 seconds!
The service you all provide is horrible.
Ms Jenn was very professional during our phone call today. She answered all my questions and provided follow-up informationas requested.
April M. is wonderful. She is very responsive and polite. She is the best! If you need something done she very quick and efficient. The best!
Stacey Spratlin has been absolutely wonderful through the process. She helped us find the home that is just right for us and made the experience much easier than any I’ve ever experienced.
I was fortunate enough to have worked with a awesome agent named Stacy, she made the process easy and she was always in touch with me about any follow ups or information needed. The home I viewed was very nice and in a very nice neighborhood. Great company!! I would definitely recommend this agency.
This company is a joke. Between them and corporate in Austin Texas, they cant get anything completed. Ive been TRYING to get in touch with someone, which Ive been told many different emails and departments, about the neglect of the home I lived in that cause MOLD on my furniture. Its been almost 3 months!!!! Yet no solution, just we will keep you updated... You would think since their tenants are paying them over a million a month, I should not have this much trouble to correct something you messed up.
I spoke with Kelly and let her know the urgency of the matter .. she took time while stating professional and courteous .. she deserves a RAISE
If I could give them Zero stars, I would! This has been the worst renting experience I have ever had. The house is great. But Main Street Renewal has shown time and time again that the least of their concerns is their residents. We’ve had 6 maintenance requests since January for a recurring plumbing issue, and the underlying problem is STILL not fixed. They send out their contractors to “put a bandaid” on the issue, and they’re done. I will NEVER rent from them again, and I HIGHLY suggest everyone else stay away from any property owned by this company!
Been emailing and calling for months to resolve issue still no resolution
This company doesn’t care about their residents AT ALL. I have been renting from places through the years at both homes and apartments. This place takes the cake. They do not respond, they do not care, they have so many hidden fees and rules, and the list goes on. They are unprofessional and honestly rude. I wouldn’t suggest any one using them for any reason. Just look at their Yelp reviews or honestly their reviews on any review platform. EVERYONE is unhappy with them. Save yourself the heartache and stress rent from somewhere else.
HiMy name is Wanda Bell.I spoke with Shania at MainStreet Renewal regarding a maintenance issue today and she was very prompt in answering the phone as well as being professional. She listened very carefully and her response was positive, informative and very helpful.
I’ve had issues with the air conditioning unit since I moved in. The contractors they send out has never been able to resolve the issues. The A/C will run all day and never get below 76 degrees until night time. This is causing enormous utility bills. Obviously the unit need changing or a competent person to work on it.
Stacey made the process quick simple and easy. Great customer service!
This Company Is Very Professional ! The Person I Was Speaking To Was Such A Doll ! ❤️ She Helped With Everything I Needed And More . Her Name Was Shaniyah . GREAT JOB !
Main Street Renewal is an awesome company to work with . I want to shout out April Myers because she is always easy to work with and really lets you know that the residents come first .
NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.Just take a look at their lease and thats enough to scare you away. I shouldve knew better. Never want anyone to have to deal with the things Ive been dealing with with this company.
Long hold times to get a representative on the phone; mostly decent service. The repairmen have always been helpful.
They were Really nice and Very patient with ironing out all the details. I think the lady name was Stacey. She was Really nice and stayed on top of Everything. She did a Great Job!
Since Corey has come along at the office, or since he has expedited my work orders and concerns, I have to rate Main Street 5 stars. Previously, I had my issues, but as of present, Corey makes being a tenant great here from the Memphis office. I am pleased.
The staff at Main Street in Memphis are wonderful! That take the time out to make sure all maintenance issues are resolved and if not that day, they will keep checking and informing me about how long the process will be. Ive been out of air going on 3 days now but the crew that handles all request make sure to stay in contact with me to let me know whats the hold up and how long it will be before its done! Great team work!
With everything going on in this world today i was treated respectfully and my concerns were addressed. it was easy to communicate with them.
Best service I have got ever thank you
Courtney has great customer service. Whenever I have a problem he always jump right into actions. I recommend Main Street Renewal as the place to stay.. Very nice homes and they keep their maintance up on their properties.
I have been here in my home 1 month so far I love it they are truly a great company easy to pay rent and Kim is great she goes over And beyond to keep and make you happy literally came to help me after she was off work I would recommend this company to anyone
Renting through them currently, though they said they were bought out? Anyways, Since my roommate and I moved here, the bedroom carpet had reeked of urine and a lot of places had flood damaged that was suppose to be fixed. We eventually got new carpet after they “fixed a leak” when we had water damage to our belongings. Not that it matters because the entire foundation in the bedroom is leaking into the room and damaging the new carpet.Since it’s been faulty all this time we have been living in moldy walls, which was discovered when said foundation issue was discovered months ago. Not only that, we been fighting to get heat (yes in WINTER) for two months now and with all the rain, it’s it humid, disgusting and freezing. Our property manager’s number is disconnected and calls and emails go ignored or skated over. My roommate is having to sleep on our couch because the master bedroom is a health hazard (seriously, black looking mold) and no one gets back to you no matter how many emails, phone calls, or maintenance claims you make. I just know we aren’t going to get our deposit back at the end of the contract.Seriously, avoid this company and whoever bought them out. Save yourself the headache and positive hospital bills.
Still don’t have hot water and a working dishwasher after two months! Received unjust charges that don’t make any sense!I am absolutely at my wits end! Since before local branches closed their offices we’ve been trying to get our dishwasher installed. The first time they came around with the dishwasher they didn’t tell us what day they were coming and showed up with zero notice other than “some time this week”. Following that we finally got somebody to drop off the dishwasher but they just dumped it there and left. Ever since then we’ve had a superfluous amount of trouble even trying to contact anyone. Then we were charged two $100 (March 6th) maintenance call fees for something that was never even fixed. When I asked about the first maintenance call fee I was told that it was because we missed an appointment. (We’ve NEVER missed an appointment other than the first one which we didn’t receive a day notice for!) The second maintenance charge was two days ago on the sixth. We haven’t even called for maintenance since March 10th BEFORE local offices shut down! What are these charges??? To fix absolutely nothing?? And guess what, nobody is responding.
If I could leave NEGATIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD !! The home we have is beautiful but the people who work in the corporate office are a joke. They have made mistakes twice on our utilities and one time resulting in them being turned completely off. When we called we were told that they forgot to pay everyone’s, and the second time after many calls and even being hung up on their was not one person to even say sorry!!Everyone at the Memphis, TN location are not the same!! They are nice and we’re willing to help as much as they could!! Guess what else, I even had a person apologize for something they had no control over!!
Absolute garbage. Ive had a busted microwave and an ant problem since I moved into one of their properties.
They worked quickly, were very informative, and helped us get what we wanted. Great customer service.
Stacey Spratlin is awesome! 10/10
The reviews are true even after I read the reviews i was willing to give them a try and nothing customer service is horrible
I placed a ticket for my freezer making a loud noise on 6/2. They responded by saying a tech would be out on 6/18. Well on 6/6 I notice that the freezer was making the loud noise constantly none stop so I informed them again that the noise was unbearable and that I needed someone to come out sooner. They followed up with on 6/9 to apologize and tell me that 6/18 was the soonest that someone could come out. So I called and replied back to the email stating that today when I went into freezer I noticed that all of my food was thawing out. The 2nd level rep Antonio Canalez suggested that I take my food to someones else. I informed him that we are in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic and no one would be comfortable letting me store my food at their home due to safety reasons. This company does not care about anyone, they know that I have been laid off at my job but through the grace of God I am still able to pay my rent but I dont have money to replace groceries that I JUST PURCHASED.
Do not rent from this company. My mother was wrongfully evicted. Mississippi law states that you have 30 days to appeal the eviction or move out. Her items were thrown out on the street without law enforcement or anyone present. She lived in the house with my grandfather and herself. She is on oxygen and my granddad is on a walker. They were behind 700 dollars and was charged TWICE for eviction fees. We have filed a complaint with the BBB and is in the process of getting a lawyer. I understand they were behind but every time she would make arrangements on the phone she would get a run a round. I have lived in many apartments in the past and I have never seen anything happen like this. I can understand if she owed the 2,000 but she owed them seven hundred and she ensured that she effort by still paying what she had. Everyone falls behind sometimes. My grandfather fell and broke his hip and was placed in a rehab. That caused my mom to loose income for 4 months. I even helped her with rent payments and talked to the company times about her situation. When she first moved in she paid them up for 2 and 1/2 months. She also had problems with her garage, a water leak and her dishwater backing up into the dishwasher. Due to the leak (that was never addressed) she was forced to pay a high water bill. In the past I have had landlords that worked with their tenants and built relationships with them especially in area such as Memphis/Mississippi. They are a very shady company.UPDATE 05/15/2019: They have changed the balance that is owed from $5,000 to $1000. I’m not sure why but my mom received a letter in the mail 2 days ago.
They were quick to return an email when they wanted my deposit but now that they have my money, all I am hearing is crickets. Days go by with no response. The house that I reserved pre-market keeps getting pushed back and I am repeated told its not ready. First it was supposed to be ready by the end of August. Now theyre telling me the end of September is the first available date. And my options are get my money back, wait for the property to be ready (and who knows when that will actually be) or pick another property. I picked another property and now it has been days since I have asked about it with no response. Meanwhile all my stuff is sitting in storage. This is a RIDICULOUS way to do business.
I have rented from Maim Street Renewal for 5 years and for the most part they are an okay management company however last Tuesday my home was burglarized and I called to inform them that my home was not secured. It is now Monday and its still not repaired. I am not happy about this.
If I could rate them less than one star I would. If you are considering any of their properties I strongly recommend you to reconsider, it is not worth it. They charge $150 maintenance fee to come out to fix anything as small as a clogged toilet, when you have previously advised them of plumbing issues. Then on top of that it is nearly impossible to get in contact with anyone, then when you do, you get a passive aggressive representative with her panties in a bunch that could careless. I won’t be renewing my lease. I advice all others to do the same.
We moved here a month ago and rented a house from Main Street Renewal. And it has been a nightmare! They have tons of available houses and thats why we chose them. We rented it sight unseen because we were coming from out of state. The pictures looked great and the description said it was move in ready. We got here and it was a dump! The AC was busted in both units, carpets not clean and nail strips cutting your feet at all the transitions, hasnt been painted, trash cans full, smells like cigarettes and weed, half the outlets and lights didnt work, garage door doesnt work, holes in sheet rock, and tons of other stuff. I have called every single day and so far theyve fixed the AC and the outlets and painted the ceiling of one room, but not much else.Adam @ wecare Ive emailed you a number of times and youve never responded.Ive put in over 30 work orders and they all get marked as completed without anything having ever been done.Horrible customer service, takes 20+ min for them to answer when you call, and then youre talking from someone out of state. When (non licensed) contractors do come out to fix things all they do is take pictures and never come back. We think the house is really cool and if theyd put a little work into it, wed stay here forever, but with such shady management well be moving as soon as our lease is up.
Our AC went out over the weekend, I entered the request online and B and L came out this morning. The contractor was early, polite, helpful, thorough and most of all fixed the issue. I just wanted to say thank you. Its hot in Memphis and Im sure everyone is having AC issues. Thanks for making the request process easy and for sending a professional company!
Terrible that’s all I can say, I just moved out. We left that house spotless!! Better than when we moved in I can assure u that. We lived there 3yrs never called for maintenance. They still took 60% of our deposit. I would recommend to everyone look elsewhere!!! Keep with a localy owned company if u have to rent!
Literally got an approval within a little over 24 hours. Very kind and helpful associates! I am extremely happy and thankful.
Please be advised that you will need a credit score of at least 700 and income of 3 times the rent (for primary applicant). This is not stated on their application website qualifications (only the income requirement is). The fee is $40 per occupant over 18 and that can add up quickly. Money down the drain, when if this was stated on the website, it could have been avoided. This is a greedy, shady company. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! All these negative reviews cant be wrong.
Shaniya was so helpful & knowledgeable to what I needed to know!
Ill give them 0 stars!!! THIS COMPANY HAS PISS POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Our hot water heater burst at 4 am in the morning and the ceiling caved in from all the water damage. The house smelled of mildew for a whole month after. We asked them to put us up in a hotel because the smell was unbearable, NOT! Even the guys that came in to work on the problem said we should not be here. The total problem was not fixed until a month after. Including the hot water heater, the entire back room that was flooded. They did not replace the carpet, only dried it. When we first moved into the house the stove was stolen and they said it would be replaced by our move in date, NOT!! The house had not even been cleaned. So we had to wait for 3 hours until the cleaning company arrived to clean the ENTIRE house before we could even move any of our furniture in. We have to put in multiple maintenance request for the for any maintenance issue we have. When we call them for an update on when the issues will be fixed, they always blame the vendors or say they have no record of the maintenance request. It is always a hassle to get anything done. Every time my husband and I go into the office, no one is available at the front desk. I remember when we went to go sign our lease, we showed up at 9 am and was greeted with a salty attitude. No one every checks the voicemail either. I have clearly left multiple voicemails stating we would be there to sign the lease and non of the paperwork was ready. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR THE MEMPHIS BRANCH TO ANY ONE, ESPECIALLY ANY ONE OF MY MILITARY PERSONNEL!*** BE ADVISED, I HAD GIVE 1 STAR JUST TO POST THIS MESSAGE***
Update 11.30.18:I wish I was updating this and saying something wonderful. The day after I left this review, we received our appliances-- the day before Thanksgiving... after finally writing a review and going to unnecessary extremes. Not only had we spent tons of money on eating out constantly and losing food that we couldnt keep (ie my sons pouches & applesauce, coffee creamer, etc.), we then after 6.5 days of eating out had to go restock our entire fridge with food because we werent able to keep anything that we brought with us from Middle TN. Weve now tried emailing Stacy a week ago with no response. We finally called yesterday (Thursday) and the woman Andrea, I believe, not only told my husband shed send him a blank email to send our receipts, bank statements, etc. to and didnt (he had to find her email address another way), she also said shed call him back no later than tomorrow (Friday) morning. We never received a phone call. We are waiting to be notified about the financial credit we will be receiving toward our account as it greatly affects our rent for December.Listen, we do not have issues budgeting or handling our finances. We did everything to successfully prepare for this move and Main Street Renewal has been an absolute nightmare. I would hate to know what this situation would be like for someone who may not have had the money to cover the costs of eating out time and time again for days. I dont wish this stuff on anyone.Again, we are not ones to write nasty reviews or get worked up about stuff, but you have now messed with the livelihood of our household when you mess with peoples finances. You have breached our lease and have shown no action to make things right. If youre reading this and youre considering this company.... go somewhere else. I promise. Even if all things are made right and we get what weve asked for, for over 2 weeks now..... God-FORBID anything else happen. You wouldnt even be able to get anyone to answer the phone or transfer you to anyone worthwhile to talk to in the office. There are a bazillion places to rent from in Memphis, dont take their 2.5 score lightly._______________________________________________________________________Y’all RUN. Listen, we are not ones to live off of reviews. We all write reviews when we are angry. I read all the reviews and we gave this company the benefit of the doubt, anyway. We signed our lease a month prior to our move in date with email proof that we’d have appliances (fridge and range) on the day of arrival. My husband sent my son and I ahead (with food in a cooler) to come down on our move in date (a Thursday) to get the keys and move in as he would be following us with the U-Haul in the days to follow. We notified the company upon arrival that there weren’t any appliances. They told us they’d be here Monday and they’d return money to us (we don’t really know what that even means yet). Monday, no appliances showed up (note: it’s Thanksgiving week and we have a 1 year old). My husband emailed Stacey who’s been great up until now who didn’t return his email. It’s Tuesday... we’ve heard nothing. My husband is now on the phone with headquarters in Austin getting the run around. We have done EVERYTHING ahead of time and right and now are going outside of our budget spending money on meal after meal, out. It’s the holiday week. This is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE BUSINESS.I’ll give them one positive and that is that the house is nice and upon arrival, they fixed the things that we’d asked them to. Shout out to whoever got that right. We applaud you.Listen to the reviews, everyone. Don’t think “oh it’s just a bad case”.... case after case after case is proof to not rent from this place. I’m beyond disappointed. I want to remain hopeful that I can edit this in the next day or two because they’ve fixed the issue and made all things right.
Other than the high rent, I havent had any other issues. I was concerned that the kitchen appliances had to stay even though I have my own appliances. I had to pay my rent late a couple of times and it was convenient that I could just pay online by a certain date instead of calling leasing agents that give you a hard time. Maintenence requests are assigned quickly and they are very polite. Will recommend
This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in my entire life. We moved into a home with cockroaches, major safety issues, and several things not working. It took several weeks to even get a pest control person out to the house. As a previous homeowner, I do not mind fixing things around the house as I can just do it quickly rather than wait for someone to fix it, but when the AC, garbage disposal, outlets, garage door are just the tip of the problems when we moved in it left me wondering why no inspection was done prior to move in as the house had been vacant for the last 6 months. Some of the work orders that have been put through just get automatically denied and trying to call the company to solve the issue can take 30-60 minutes each time as their wait times are insane. Even after people have been sent to the house there have been times they leave without doing the work and then it takes weeks for them to come back. As such, weve been in the house for over 3 months and there is still a list of issues unresolved and thats with 20+ phone calls and hours wasted wait for technicians who often reschedule or dont show. The people at the corporate office are no better and often refuse to help resolve the issue. Ive asked for a rent credit for the time spent away from work dealing with these issues, which Ive given as a landlord to my tenants. See attached document for their response that took 6 weeks to generate. MSR put in there that we could discuss it further and when I emailed them back to ask for a phone call as originally promised the second response is what I got back. So much for a discussion...Bottom line: Dont rent from this company.
Cant say anything but good things about mainstreet. super easy to pay rent, they fixed any issues we had quickly. we didnt want a pool anymore and we were able to easily change properties when our lease was up. the memphis leasing team found us something that was in our budget and just as nice as our previous home. we will rent from them until we purchase.
This is my review for a tech Austin Usher. Not Main Street he came out to finally fixed several things the CORRECT way. So nice and very professional. Thanks so much Austin I hope they send you every time I put in a maintenance request and with this house Im 100% sure I will be needing maintenance soon 😒.
Stacey Spartlin was professional an awesome ..Thanks on the home
April was so sweet and professional in helping with my needs.
They never answer the phone, and when they do, it is very difficult to get in touch with the Memphis office. I suppose they have extremely poor management as well because you practically have to beat down doors just to get a plumber out to their house to fix a massive leak. Obviously, they do not care to conduct proper inspections before their tenants move in. Absolutely horrible company. Bad business at its finest. No offense, Whitney, but there is nothing you can do for me. I want to speak to your supervisor, or better yet, the person over him/her, because something has to be done ASAP. We cant all be lying/exaggerating. Main Street Renewal needs a renewal as well.
I have only lived in a house managed by MSR for a little over 2 months, but I have been very pleased with their management and service so far. Shortly after we moved in, a previously unknown leak was discovered. They have been great about staying on top of everything so that the repairs happened in a timely manner. Definitely glad so far that I signed a lease with MSR!
First let me start by saying on the good experience I have had so far I saw a few of their properties in the by the time I got to him they were all taken so this nice lady named Ashley told me that she would let me know when they would have something different and she really didnt have to do that which tells me about her character for this company she called me before this property had even been put on the market and I fell in love with it I was hesitant about doing an application thinking I was going to get denied but by the grace of God my husband and I were approved we put our deposit down immediately and today we signed our lease in the one thing thats also a plus about this company and they give you 30 days to move in unlike other companies that only give you 7 to 14 days to move in. So far are stingrays have been great they are very attentive to respond to emails and phone calls I have nothing but great things to say about this company so far.Ashley Hale,Jasmin,Bria&Ceylon are all wonderful .Thanks a million. My family are not are very appreciative to have the opportunity to live in the very nice safe neighborhood with a brand new house built from the ground up. We are so lucky to be the very first tenants of this property. Thanks Mainstreet
Been a resident for 1 year. They will not fix jacuzzi tub or your fireplace they stated to me that it is cosmetic and have to get it fixed on my own also they take several months to fix anything, I had water leaking for three months which caused my electric bill to rise extremely they did not help with electric bill and only gave a $20 credit which was not even 10% of how much my bill was affected by leak and my grass was flooded because of the leak. It is extremely hard to get anyone on the phone once you have become a resident with them, I do not recommend this company for anyone.
If I had read these reviews before renting with Main Street Renewal, I would not be in the situation that I am now. Please do not give, rent or consider giving your hard earned money to this company. Do not do it!!!They are crooks! These reviews are the real deal. Ive being renting from this company for only 4 weeks now and have nothing but issues! Ive had countless plumbing issues where at one point Im washing my dishes out of my bathroom sink and water is leaking from the kitchen ceiling and at the worst time, during the whole week of Christmas and new years. They Do Not inspect the their property before leasing,so your stuck with dealing with the issues that should have been resolved prior to moving in. Run away! Dont not rent from this company. Please read the previous reviews!!!
Everyone is very nice and polite even if even the receptionist at the front desk Mr.Corry is very helpful everyone is
I was very pleased with the assistance I received from Gabriella.
Something new: I have realized that my move in documents are not loaded that I provided to “Danerious” or whatever his name is. I’m moving out soon. Luckily I have proof I provided them to him and I emailed it to the email address on the paper with pictures...Where do I begin? Lets say run as fast as you can. The house I rented had a leak. Mlgw will not refund all of water usage. They said it is the homeowners responsibility. Well, let’s say this company does not want to pay for usage charge of the leak. I’m being forced to pay. Yes, they had it repaired but what was the purpose of having the utilities on prior to the move in if they don’t inspect the house. I’m going to blast them on the news. The news story will be about how property management companies patch up the homes and how tenants are left with the cost.
I applied for a home after doing thorough research on this company. I was told after visiting the Memphis, Tn office in poplar that my credit score only had to be a 500 and above. My Credit score was in range of the requirements also I made over 3x the monthly rent amount. I applied for the home 1602 Far. I was contacted and told I was approved with conditions, the conditions were i needed a co-signer. REALLY???? I absolutely wasted so much of my time on this company. GAS, TIME, MONEY, this whole process was a waste. If I could I would even dispute their app fee.
MSR is a great company!!!! Ms Stacy OMG I can say ...so much good ! She went above & beyond . She tried her best to keep me as a tenant but there were no homes to fit my preference!!!!
I rented a house through Reed & Associates last year & the house was switched over to this company. My lease was up in May. I contact MS Renewal about renewing my lease. They told me the house was not up for renewal due to renovation. No one DID NOT contact me about this situation & it was March when I contacted them about renewing my lease. I had to pack and find me somewhere to move in less than 2 months! Smh! I was never late on rent or anything! That really upset me.
I’d had actually good experience with them until today, I sent email and told them I’d pay my rent today the 18th due to handships. No response saying no that won’t work, nothing even saying I was late...no phone calls with so I knew they had email. I go online to pay and it doesn’t allow payment due to them sending it to evictions even tho I said I would pay it today they sent it today. I would’ve understood sending it tomorrow if I hadn’t paid today but I am a person of my word. Even after I couldn’t pay online I called them to make payment. Now they want me to pay an extra $200 on top of late fee and rent. How is that right? Stay far away from the company as they want you to notify them of your issues but they don’t inform you of anything. Ask to speak with manager to straighten it out and no call. I don’t even have letter or email saying hey you rent is late we are gonna evict you if not paid by so and so date.
I never had a Problem With MS Renewal until I moved out. You are required to make a 1 month rent deposit that is refundable when you move out. Even if you clean the house, leave it spotless and take pictures of how clean it is they will still charge you cleaning fees and other fees. the move in sheet specified everything that was wrong with the house at move in. Even replaced a fan out of pocket. but out of my $1,095 deposit, I only received about $300 back due to cleaning fees and other fees. So then I decide to make a trip to memphis to talk to a manager. after I was told that they would take care of the matter, they never got back to me and pushed me through countless of hours of waiting on automated systems. Seems like theft to me
