I’m not one to complain, very easy to please individual. This place has done the worst job in 15 years of getting pedicures I’ve ever experienced. Still have dead, peeling skin, nails are uneven, I’m in a lot of pain and paint is all over my skin. Do not come here. Bad experience.

I went and got my nails done on Thursday. i always go here i can’t remember exactly who i had but she did not paint my nail all the way and just used a nail polish that had probably been sitting there for a long time. she did one coat of black and one coat of the glitter and barely paid attention because her girlfriend was there acting like a complete child and this is coming from a teenager. my nail polish should not have started peeling off less than 3 days after. i normally love going here but i dont know about it anymore.

Gel pedicure for the win! When I walked in and saw a line and nearly every seat taken, I expected the wait to be at least 30 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that it would only be 10-15 minutes and super happy that it was an accurate estimate for them to get me in a chair! It was another 10 minutes or so before a technician came to start service, but someone did ask about the water temp while I waited. Didnt see a lot of options for regular polish (I saw that some ladies brought their own), so I went with gel polish. Got the deluxe pedicure since its my first pedicure post COVID, and enjoyed it. Service was quick, and I appreciate the discount for paying cash. I signed up for their rewards program since Im definitely planning to come back!

I spent $90 on a manicure that has acrylic globs stuck underneath on my skin. $30 for a pedicure that lasted a total of 5 minutes. My feet were in the water for 2 minutes. My feet are also still covered in dead skin because they onlyPainted them. $30 just to paint..?The young boy working up there is also VERY rude he told me he was the manager 😂😂 yeah okay.

I often come here to get my toes done and once youre seated and having them done, the staff always do an amazing job. However, it generally is always pretty busy and youve got to wait to be taken back. So go with patience and youll have a good and relaxing time.

I’ve been going every 2 weeks for about a year & this is the one time I’ve come back, b/c I got my nails done yesterday & they’re chipped today… MANAGER says, “She messed up b/c she didn’t want to do your nails! No refund & no free fix.” And I always tip very generously. Never going there again.

Might be the best place in Mechanicville to get your nails done! Discounts given for cash and additional discount card given to each customer. My technician gave me the best pedicure that I have ever had. Highly recommend!

I used the love coming here but my experience yesterday will be my last. I waited over an hour past my appointment time, my nails were so rushed it was unreal. The nail tech didnt have me wash my hands after she applied the acrylic and sanded them down. When I asked her about it she told me not to worry about it. My pinky nails are 2 completely different lengths (she didnt check to see that they were even either), 2 other nails are crooked, I asked for a design with silver and white, I ended up with one silver line in the middle of the tip. I didnt bother complaining because at that point I had already wasted 2 hours. I should have left after waiting for 30 minutes but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt after many pleasant experiences there. Lesson learned, next time I will find a salon in the west end closer to my house.

They gave me someone with no experience and couldnt or did not know how to cut nails. Did not know or speak English and cut into my toe with file. Not sure if I will give them another try.

Kim is the one who tended to me and I must say she will be my new tech from now on! Phenomenal job! She did wonderful work and did not hurt me in the slightest. My nails were done with a dip. Her filing skills are superb!

I have always had a great experience at Ruby Nails. Friendly staff and my toes always look perfect. Mimosas are a plus too.

My daughter and I have been coming her for years and loved it. However, the other day we had a horrible experience and will not return. The nail tech was very rough and rude with my daughter. Her nails peeled as soon as she got home. My toe got infected from the aggressive digging around the nail bed. We are now searching for another place to go. Going to the salon is supposed to be a positive and relaxing experiences - that was not the case. The inconsistency of service is what deters me from going back. How do I know if I will get two bad techs the next time? So, there will not be a next time.

Great work from these ladies. They dont rush and are detailed. It is worth the drive to receive good service.

So i’ve been going here years to get my eyebrows waxed and never had an issue until my past two experiences. two different employees, the first one completely reshaped my eyebrows and shortened them by atleast 1/2 an inch and took almost 3 months to completely grow back. went back today to give them another chance and i explained do not shorten or take any front/middle hairs and showed what i meant and told her just to clean around the edges. first thing she did was shorten my brows again and made them completely uneven. done with this place

The place is REALLY pretty and the wine and fruit is nice. I havent been very impressed with the service though. They dont do the dip nails all the way to cover your nail. The top coat on my dip keeps coming out bumpy. Ive been burned several times because the tech is rushing... its not a relaxing experience and the work isnt done well.. the toilet is crazy cool though lol

My first time going to this location. My nail tech did am amazing job on my mani and pedi. Pretty much every salon I got to I feel rushed to just get me in and out. Not here my nail tech took her time and made me very comfortable, left feeling so relaxed. Excellent decor. Will definitely be back.

Ruby Nails & Spa was okay. This was my second time visiting and I did not have an appointment. The first tech I had did my pedicure and was awesome but she had an appointment so she could not do my help Manicure. The second tech I had for my hero Mani was not good. I wont say terrible but it was close. She talked to the other techs who were not servicing anyone the whole time. She acted as if she did not know what I was saying and if what she did is called a Mani them I would like to know what a color change would look like? She did not massage or anything besides color my nails. Oh, well she did add lotion and oil to my nails. The first time I went I got a real Mani. My suggestion, train for consistency. The first Lady I would give a 4 the second a 2 so thats why they got 3 stars.

Came on a girls date and it was very busy, i highly reccommend making an appointment if you dont want to wait but the building is beautiful, the staff are very attentive and their bathroom ROCKS!I have never seen a TOTO toilet but it was the highlight of my visit along with the free drinks, wonderful pedicure, manicure and T(Tia, or Tiara) the girl who started yesterday was the first person whos ever waxed my eye brows and not messed them up!

Beautiful place, But we were rushed. I scheduled a bridal appointment a month in advance and the day of the appointment we were separated, rushed, and not relaxed at all :( during our 1 hour there, the nail techs changed a few times. A few of my nails (I got the color dipping) were not buffed the entire way and I had to chase the lady down to finish it (and she still missed some spots). No one was offered and refreshments which really isnt that big of a deal but other places Ive gone to have done that and its a nice little touch. They werent rude but did nothing to create a unique and relaxing experience.

Its a conveyor belt nail salon. They get you in, they get you out. Lack of attention to detail. Its a complete numbers game. My pedicure was trash.

I come to Ruby’s every 2 weeks religiously! I see Cici every time and we always have a great time! She never hurts me, and she is SO precise. I also really like seeing Amy, Mia, and Abi. I schedule my appointments since I go so regularly, but they always do a good job of taking walk-in appointments.

I go to Rubys regularly. Especially since they reopened from closing due to covid. Im even more impressed with their standards since opening back up. They are giving us a sense of normalcy through all of this. Today topped my expectations, I left with beautiful pink and whites with toes to match my design on my nails. Mia is outstanding and very patient. They were busy as usual but everyone moves with purpose. Keep it up Rubys you guys are awesome.

Been going to Ruby Nails for a few years and they always take awesome care of me. Today I went in with my grandma and my two Maids of Honor to get our nails done for the wedding and I am SO pleased with the results. They even served us mimosas while we got pampered 😍

WORST experience! I walked in with straight nails and left with horribly shaped coffin nails. After speaking with 3 different associates about a “cut down” charge I didn’t ask for at the front desk, I was told their techs can “do whatever” and charge you for whatever. Horrible customer service.

Havent been here in a few years now. This Sunday morning my husband and I went in for pedicures when the shop opened. No wait. The salon is gorgeous!! Nice relaxing, spa atmosphere. Beautifully renovated since our last visit. Extremely comfortable massage chairs. Quality work. So glad we decided to drop in...will be returning as regular customers again!

Very poor service for basic pedicure. Done in 15 minutes, no clipping of toenails, no getting calluses off footbed, barely any massage. I used to go often but last 2 times horrible service. They won’t get my money or my Moms money again and I’m sure I can tell my daughters not to go either. Guess they want to pay for fancy place now but they will continue to lose customers with that type of service.

You never know what youre gonna get. Beautiful salon, and some very nice techs, and then some you wonder how they became techs. When one of the texts put on acrylic nails and then put them on too thick and some crooked and I complained, his answer was to give me more money back not to fix them even though I had to go to a wedding. I made them fix them then doing so they cut the tips off down to my natural nail and I still paid for the tips. No one offered me anything for the inconvenience

Disappointed. I had read mixed reviews and figured I would give it a shot; ended up regetting the decision. While the shop itself was well-kept and clean, the staff seemed impersonal. Not to mention the overall quality of the work was poor. My nails turned out uneven, misshapen, and lumpy. The tech was so rough he filed past my nail and INTO my thumb causing me to BLEED. He apologized once, cleaned it up, and continued what he was doing. He did not stop to ask if I was okay, and I ended up paying full price for the lack luster job.

Not happy with the service received today. I have been going to Ruby Nails for many years. When I asked how long was the wait we were told an hour. Perfectly fine, what I was not happy with was the owners son telling us we can go to another nail salon. Without giving us the opportunity to say whether or not we would wait. I will never step foot back in the salon.

I have given this place 4 chances to get their customer service better. Each time the service was the same or worse. They don’t allow you to tip by card. Only cash The guy at the front desk is always impatient when trying to ask about services or allowing time to pick a nail color. Each nail tech I have had has been pushy or rude. And I had different techs each time I wentThey don’t give all clients the same treatment. I sat at the nail dry bar and every person around me was tended to by carrying their items and giving shoulder massages. Nor do they offer a drink or snack as stated on their advertisement up front. Last 2 times my eyebrow wax was a nightmare. They pinch my eye lid, took too much brow off on one side and ripped wax strip off so rough her hand hit my nose.I have always left there feeling horrible that I paid for any service that I poorly receivedI respect the fact they have customers that enjoy their time there.However, I have never had a good experience

Edited to update - since the remodel and expansion the service has gone downhill and it feels like the young ladies are being rushed and overworked and the managers are pretty pushy with them. If you have an appointment, be prepared to wait a long time anyway. The place does look great and is pretty clean though and the majority of the techs are very nice.

I gave it a try and once again dissatisfied. They rush you so much. I come in to be relaxed and get the opposite. The only thing good about this place is the scenery.

I dont regularly go to the nail salon except occasionally to treat myself every 3 months. Came here as a recommendation from a friend. Very fancy, clean and nice. Kinda busy, but the wait wasnt too long. Had a time trying to understand the tech and she accidentally stabbed underneath my fingernail on my left hand but otherwise service was exceptional. Really like the complimentary fruit and cheese plates with a drink while being serviced. Only concern I have is that there arent any price listings anywhere nor online, so they charge what they want I suppose. Paid $45 for entire manipedi plus a free neck massage afterward. Prices are fairly reasonable. Definitely will come again in the future.

I used them every two weeks for regular fill ins. I go in today, and discover nail fungus. Guess they are not cleaning their utensils. Will not be returning.

Since the spa has grown they seem like they can’t handle the growing business . I use to like coming here and would walk in and be seen within a timely manner. Now even when I’m told I can have a seat in a pedicure chair I still wait 30 minutes before I’m acknowledged . I’m not sure how many more chances I want to take coming in and just waiting

Great shop, friendly technicians. Its very clean and hygienic. Bathrooms are clean and well kept. Service can be a bit slow sonetimes and quality varies between technicians.

As a male, Im not sure of normal expectations for a Nail/Spa business. Ive gone with my wife a few times and find they do a great job. Appears to be newly renovated. Everyone is nice.

My daughter and I got pedicures together and it was a beautiful set up! I was respecting to pay more and wait long, but neither of that was the case! Ruby Nails has 2 new customers! Thanks Jenn for the recommendation

I have been highly disappointed with this nail salon the more I go. I used to get quality work and this last time I went I paid for a service that was barely even good. I will not be returning. I hope they can fix the issues at their salon. They have a lot of foot traffic but no one excelling at customer service.

I LOVE Ruby! Tina does a wonderful job on my 12 year olds nails. I see whoever is available and I am always Happy! Everyone is friendly! The best part is you get a shoulder rub when they finish your nails! Its so relaxing!

I used to go here all the time with my mom and friends. After the expansion, a lot of things changed. The place is very nice, but they are completely understaffed considering the amount of people coming certain days. But the reason I’m giving one star is because my last experience. I waited around 15 minutes to get called back for a pedicure. After that, I sat over there for another 20-25 minutes. Finally someone helped me. All went well, until I saw the tools. She pulled the nail file out of her bucket of tools and it was covered with white powder from other people’s nails. I let it go, thinking maybe it was at least sanitized. NO! Right after that, I got a fungal infection on BOTH of my big toes.... very sad. My mom had also gotten one, but at the time I was in denial at the thought that my once favorite nail salon could have done that. Please sanitize your tools ALL THE TIME. We are paying extra money since the expansion, the least you could do is ensure hygienic practices are being put to use.

Ever since moving to the new location, there customer service has gone out the window! Every single time I go there it’s an issue. Whether it’s a confusion with nail shape, nail color, or being told to go across the street due to a long wait. I’ve been going here for over 5 years and never experienced the lack of professionalism & customer service that i have in the last year. Not to mention if you speak your mind in there and say you don’t like something and ask that it be changed, you better believe you will be the new gossip in the nail shop and still while your in the chair! How unprofessional! Never once was apologized to, or asked what can be done to fix the miscommunication. They no longer care about there customers and some of the workers are just plain rude as simple as I can put it. I had a lady in the middle of doing my nails get up and walk away and ask someone else to finish because there was lack of understanding in my nail shape that I was asking for. Sooo that being said does anyone have any nail place recommendations?!

Love the atmosphere and the fact they offer drinks and cheese/fruit. If there ever is a problem the manager is happy to fix it. I highly recommend Kim!

The atmosphere is SO much nicer since they remodeled! They have probably 30 spa pedicure chairs and 30 manicure seats. They also bring you beverages and fruit, crackers and cheese. Very nice to have in Mechanicsville.

Ive been coming here for over a year and have watched the service steadily decline. I was hopeful it would go back up after they expanded. No such luck. The last few times I came, they worked on me and another person at the same time. Completely rushed to get more clients in. Its become clear its about quick turnover to get more cash through the door. Even with an appointment the wait is over 45 minutes. Unacceptable. The reason I gave two stars is because they do have a great selection of gel, dip or regular polish. If you get them on a non busy day, it might be better. Im going somewhere else now...

I had a full set done to my nails and not even two days later a nail snapped in half I didn’t even notice until I looked at my hand and then not even two weeks after I had them done 5 of them snapped in half due to really thin acrylic will never be going back.

This was one of the best experiences at a nail salon that I have ever had. They not only gave awesome services but even give you a shoulder and back massage after your nail service. I took my mother in for her birthday and she said this was the BEST pedicure of her entire life. The entire staff seemed amazing, but my mother saw John and I saw Jenny and they were both so so so amazing!! I can not say enough wonderful things about this!

I got a gel manicure done on 12/18 for Christmas and come the 24th it was already peeling off. I walked into Ruby Nails that afternoon with a gel manicure that had been done 2 & 1/2 weeks ago at a shop in Midlothian that hadn’t peeled one bit. I’m very disappointed and will not be going back there for a gel manicure ever again, it should have lasted much longer than it did.

I did not have a good experience. There was a lot of workers however they seemed confused as to who was suppose to wait on what customer. We waited about 45 minutes in pedicure chair before some one came. My husband got an pedicure and left me to get my nails done. I was harassed by the employer continuing to ask where is my husband like we wasnt going to pay. I told her he will be back to get me so you will be paid. Then they sat me in another chair and there I waited another 30 minutes to be serviced. The fruit they serve was the best service they provided that day. The building is pretty buy the service sucked.

I’ve been going to Ruby Nails for a few years. The last few times I’ve come I’ve slowly watched the customer service go downhill. After they remodeled and moved to the new building I decided to give them another try. I was there for almost 3 hours while they worked on various other people while doing my nails. I also was asked to move seats twice so that different people could finish my nails. I went back for just a pedicure today. I didn’t have an appointment so I expected to wait because they seemed really busy. I was actually escorted to a pedicure chair within 10 minutes of being there. I sat in the chair with an air vent on full blast blowing freezing cold air on me for about 20 minutes. There were 3 other technicians doing pedicures around me, no one ever acknowledged me or came over to turn on the water so that I could start to soak. Then when one girl finished up I saw her look at me, point and then seemed to fight with the other technician about who was going to take me. I got fed up and just got my shoes on and started to walk out. The little guy that escorts everyone to their seats when you come in asked me if I was leaving and I said yes, never asked me why or tried to help. I saw him walk past and look at me 3 different times after he walked me to my chair, he could have been the one to turn the water on! This is place has completely gone down hill! I felt like a fish in a fish bowl and like I was inconviencing them by coming in to get my toes done. I’ll never go back!

My appointment was scheduled for 5pm, I arrived at 445, the place was packed and it was a sign up sheet for of others who had appointments. No one ask if I had been seen or whatever so we left and went somewhere else . Im sure they wont care because they are making money hand over foot anyway. ...literally . I dont recommend calling ahead.

They take their time, very neat work, super clean work areas and friendly professional staff! Prices are pretty much the same as all the other nail places in the area but the service is much better than any other in the area that I have been to! Love them!

The worst gel manicure I have had anywhere. Picked a light pink color for my nails that I always use, it was a yellow peach because the formula had gone bad. The manager offered me a $5.00 discount. Definitely would not go back. Horrible.

Usually love coming here, but wont come on Friday evening anymore. The girl spoke no English. I had requested gel on my fingers, but she started to put regular on. I stopped Her and had to hail a passing tech yo get her to translate for me. She cleaned off my nails and started the gel, never had me wash my hands...needless to say, the Polish fell off in 2 days. Manager fixed for me on Monday, with no issue, but very aggravating to have had to do it.

Nice atmosphere. Chairs were in good condition. Staff goes the extra mile and did not rush. My new favorite place for a pedi.

I went to Ruby Nails & Spa today and it was the best pedicure I have ever had! I saw Amy and she was really attentive. I have had some bad pedicures, and she listened to my concerns and made sure that the experience was pleasant for me. Amy really took her time taking care of me and the foot/leg massage was amazing. I had a chance to read some magazine articles and we had some fun conversation as well. The shoulder/back massage afterwards was a pleasant surprise and the price for the pedicure was spot on. I will recommend this nail salon to all of my friends!

I have had great service. My Nail Tech was quiet the first couple of times, but now we have enjoyable conversations. She is as particular with my nails and pedi as I am. The staff are all very nice and welcoming!
