Save yourself the headache, time and money by going to children’s instead. Children’s has a prosthetics and orthotics department that does cranial molding using the Star band. They also don’t try to charge you the full price up front like Cranial Technologies does. As someone who worked in revenue management for a decade I can tell you CT is doing it backwards. Their lack of a quality Insurnace billing system is passed on to the patients. They know that we have limited options and they are taking advantage of parents that do not have a choice. You have a choose. Go anywhere else!!
Everyone at this location was amazing. The whole experience is never easy but the staff here was always professional, friendly and understanding.
When you take your infant to a for profit company the chances are greater that your baby will somehow REALLY need a cranial band. Parents I encourage you to get a second opinion! Read my review about the Stockbridge location and decide for yourselves if you want a company that puts itself FIRST over its patients. I went to CHOA and was told my daughter did NOT need a cranial band. This after being told by Nurse Ann at the Stockbridge location that my daughter’s case was “severe.” Don’t believe everything that Cranial Technologies tells you. GET A SECOND OPINION. Preferably with a provider that is NOT for profit!!Padres Hispanos no sé dejen llevar por esta compañia.
EDIT: **My son ended up needing a second band. We were unsure if insurance would approve it and didnt want to wait a whole month again to find out. Cranial Tech reached out to me to let me know that they were working hard to get it approved & if it wasnt approved they would cover the cost of the second band due to the issues we had in the beginning of this process. I am very pleased that they were willing to do that for us, though part of me wonders if we had gotten the first band sooner, maybe he wouldnt need the second one.**I was initially very impressed with this place. They are very knowledgeable and kind. However, when it came to the insurance process, it was a NIGHTMARE. They took forever to even send it to my insurance and I had to call them every week for a month to finally get it sent correctly. I have a friend that they did the same thing to and I honestly think its a money making opportunity because the older the baby, the longer they have to wear their DOC band, hence more money from the insurance company. Besides that, our technician Kasie is very kind & listens to my concerns as a mother. They also make appointments quick and easy, which is great since we have to go in weekly.
Great experience with my daughter at Cranial Tech. My pediatrician told my wife and I she notice a little bit of flattening of my daughters head at 2 month wellness check. We were able to make appointment and come in the next day for consult. The clinician Megan is fantastic. She really took the time to go over tummy time and some neck stretching exercises with us to do at home. Then they took measurements of our daughters head that was quick and easy. The clinical report is incredible with her head and the measurements. We were told our daughter is too young for a cranial band, but to work on the exercises we went over, and come back in 6 weeks to take measurements again of our daughters head then we can decide if want the DOC band for her head. The consults are FREE and only have to contact insurance and figure out payment if need a DOC band. Couldnt have asked for a better experience for my family
They cancel appointments whenever they want, they are not schedule friendly at all.
