Love my spenga workout! Class size ideal and I like the variety. Very clean and smells amazing inside. The staff are very friendly.
I tried this class out the other day and I have nothing but positive things. Besides it being a beautiful and super clean facility, the staff where so caring and kind. I was greeted by Brittany with a warm welcome and she made me feel very comfortable. The instructor was very detailed with her instruction and so even though it was my first time biking and doing yoga I was able to catch right up. It was a great workout! And I really like how they emphasized cool down and recovery with the yoga, which most gyms do not. Highly recommend!
I have been going to Spenga since it opened and love it. It’s a great workout!!!
This is my first time I had a difficult interaction as part of a “trial period” in any gym class (or even subscription service). I saw their ad on Facebook and decided to give a shot by filling my information in. I don’t quite remember how, (since I’ve signed up for other gyms as well) but I got their email/sms to sign up for their free week. Again filled my info and their website led me to create an account. When I logged in, I was in their scheduling system where I was given an option to schedule ANY class(it was a green button). Chose the one that fit my schedule.Got there right at 6pm(time the class was starting) and told Olivia it was my first time. She helped me setting up the locker and I asked if they provided a towel. As a classpass member, I’ve been to multiple gym clubs and they usually have a system where they let you use a towel during that class and at the end there’s always a bin to put it in(so you don’t keep it). Olivia wasn’t clear that the towel WAS a PAID service.Fast forward to after class, Olivia asks for my credit card info. I am then made aware the towel is paid. I asked if there’s was a way to have an exception since there was this miscommunication and then she calls her manager and hands her phone to me.Her manager (I believe her name is Brittany) is extremely condescending, calls me out (at this stage I’m still a potential customer??) for “assuming” the towel was free, and then persistently asks for “an email confirmation that I signed up for a free trial class”. It seemed like there was a breach on their system that allowed me to sign up for a regular class as opposed to to a “trial class”, and here I am being in awkward situation of “proving myself”.I then politely told Brittany that I had an appointment at 8pm in Midtown and was already running late, so I was happy to send her the confirmation email screenshots tomorrow. She then asked if I was an East Cobb resident when I said yes and asked: “why do you have an appointment in Midtown when you said you live in East Cobb?” At this point I’m already very frustrated and said that the fact I’m an East Cobb resident doesn’t stop me for having appointments in other areas around Atlanta. An irrelevant and intrusive question to ask in a very condescending way.I am definitely not coming back and I would advise you to think twice about signing up for their trial classes of any sort. Not recommending to my friends either. For Spenga Management/Owners: Maybe invest in putting signs up to clearly indicate about the paid towels, look up to understand how to fix your system breach (that allows leads to sign up for regular class instead of “trial ones”) AND maybe train your management to always PUT CUSTOMER FIRST (by resolving escalations in the most customer centric manner and by any means act in a condescending way ). Lastly - Olivia handled this very well and was apologetic of the misunderstandings.
This workout just makes sense to me. No one needs an hour of cardio or a full hour of strength training like most boutique places offer. 20 minutes of each followed by yoga to cool down and stretch is efficient and smart. If Im going to leave my three kids to workout I need it to be efficient and smart so this is perfect for me. My only gripe is that because it moves so quickly, I dont feel that I get enough time to really focus on my form. Right as I feel like Im doing the rep correctly, its time for the next one. I expect that as I come more often Ill feel more confident that Im doing things right.Edited to add: Ive been coming to SPENGA several times a week since January and I was right! Once I got used to the format I felt much more confident. Definitely try it out if youre curious and give yourself some grace and time if your first few workouts are a bit overwhelming. Ask for help too! All of the instructors are very knowledgeable and happy to help with form/modifications.Also over the past 8 months I have gotten so much stronger and my energy is through the roof! I also find it easier to manage my emotions when Ive been in the gym working hard. My kids and husband look forward to my gym days because apparently Im more pleasant.
I can honestly say, after years of being a gym rat, that this is the best workout I have experienced! The combination of cardio during spin, the high intensity training, followed by the stretching and centering of yoga leaves me feeling amazing. I find that I push my limits during each session, which has made me stronger not only physically but mentally. The team at East Cobb Spenga are professional and are so supportive, ready to help with any issues or questions...they have become like family to me!
After not working out for 5 years I decided that I wanted to make a change and live a healthier lifestyle. I started going to classes at Spenga East Cobb a little over a month ago after a friend recommended it and I am so happy that I started. After just two weeks I had already felt stronger and way more flexible! I am so happy with what I have experienced so far and can’t wait to continue my fitness journey with Spenga. I have also never been able to do a squat but one of the instructors showed me and now I feel so much better!
I really like the instructors here, I haven’t been to a different SPENGA location but I have gone to other fitness classes in the past. Everyone here is friendly and pushes you to a good workout, I look forward to my SPENGA sessions. If you’re on the fence it’s definitely worth trying their free first class!Edit: I also wanted to mention how clean they keep everything, especially considering what is going on with the pandemic. The employees wear masks, and wipe down EVERYTHING in between sessions. You can also tell that clean air is coming into the room constantly, making me feel comfortable taking a fitness class with others during this time.
Fast-paced 60 min - FUN - entire body workout, from spin, to strength and ending in Yoga. Everything you want in a workout!!
This gym changed my life. Because of it I am healthier, stronger and have made some wonderful friends.
Spenga is a great place to improve your health, balance and strength. They split your hour work out into three sections: spin, strength and yoga. Your coach helps you reach and exceed your expectations. The facility is very clean and the staff is very welcoming.
SPENGA EAST COBB is the BEST total body workout. I’ve done various types of HITT, boot camp deigned group fitness classes for years, and I truly have gotten the best results with SPENGA. 60 min of intense, motivating, encouragement. SPIN STRENGTH & YOGA all in 60 min class. Motivated instructors to help you reach the goal that best for you. You do not compete with others in the class, you compete with yourself! You’ll leave feeling thankful you did it!
I absolutely love this place! I just signed up this week after my free trial last week!!! I do not hold myself accountable when going to gyms, but they definitely keep you motivated and engaged while you’re in here. Highly recommend coming here!!! Shout out to Jamal! I just so happened to have him as instructor every time I’ve come in so far and he’s very motivating and fun to work with!
SPENGA East Cobb has amazing staff, I love them all. My favorite trainers and the only people I have experienced are Jamal, Meghan and Jordyn. They challenge me, guide me and push me to do my best. I always feel like I am welcomed into a great family environment. I also love how clean they keep the place considering the times I am so grateful for that.
I liked the workouts fine, but BEWARE of the fine print. They reactivated my account on the day I received the email (they state that they sent an email on 1/18/21, but I never received it). You have to pay for a month even when you CAN’T use the gym because of a policy to get every penny from you. When I told the front desk worker that my daughter has an autoimmune disease, was hospitalized and me coming to a gym was not healthy for her, she just writes “covid-daughter” as my reason to cancel. That isn’t what I said. Her reason for the abrupt reactivation was a change in management. I disputed the charge with my credit card and they felt my claim was valid and reversed the charge. Spenga only provided the credit card company documentation to support their side rather than all the conversations and emails I had sent. Spenga ignored my email requests to cancel from months before when they could have responded and said what their policy was to cancel. When they called to see if I wanted to reactivate, I told them to cancel. They said it was fine to continue to freeze my account because of my daughter’s condition. They said I could continue to freeze my account as long as I needed to in all phone conversations. No mention of those conversations to the credit card company. I’m having to pay thousands of dollars in hospital bills and this is the last thing I should have to deal with. I understand that covid has been tough on businesses, but that isn’t my fault. Super disappointed!
This place is amazing. I joined Spenga East Cobb since the very first day and I’m never getting back to a regular gym. Great environment and balanced but challenging workout. The staff is wonderful. Meghan, Alison, Jordan and Jamal… the best team of trainers!
I have finally found a workout that keeps me coming back. Before SPENGA I had never done spin or yoga, and wasnt sure Id like either, but Ive found a new love of both - although my relationship with spin is more of a love/hate relationship. :-) Meghan is definitely one of the best instructors Ive ever taken a class with. She is upbeat, and encouraging, without being corney (Im looking at you, 80s workout videos!). I dont take Jordans class often, but shes also the manager, and is so great to work with. She is always willing to answer my million different questions, and always gets you what you need. Everyone here is great!
I really enjoy the SPENGA classes, they are great! I like how everyone focuses on one workout area at time, such as the bike for 20min, the strength floor for 20min and yoga for 20min. I have tried several gyms and SPENGA is the best workout!
SPENGA is a great all round workout. The instructors, Meghane and Jordan and Jamal are very knowledgeable, and make sure you are doing the exercises correct. It’s like having a personal trainer but in a small group setting. Love SPENGA.
I love SPENGA! It is the perfect balance of cardio, weight training and yoga all packed into 1 hour! The staff and trainers are professional and encouraging. The staff keep the studio very clean and sanitized.
Spenga has been my happy place during the pandemic. The staff is all so friendly, and they know all the members by name. Every piece of equipment is sanitized after each use. Doors are propped open, and they do temperature checks and a squirt of hand sanitizer upon each persons arrival. Meghan pushes us hard on the bikes, and Jamal plays the best music!
I love SPENGA! The balanced approach (20 spin/20 strength/20 yoga) gives me everything I need in a workout, and I get it done in an hour. I always leave energized and feeling great. It is a very challenging workout (I love that you compete with yourself) but it is also appropriate for a wide range of fitness levels. The instructors do an excellent job providing modifications if needed. The studio is clean and attractive and the individual strength stations are fantastic -- no free for all to get the weights you need! The staff are wonderful -- always welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
This is more than a place to workout. Instructors like Jamal and owner Denese make you better and enjoy the experience! Best workout too!
Ive been attending classes since they opened. It is an extremely clean environment, and I really enjoy it. In the past I frequently got injured when I would work out and I have not had any injuries since I started working out at Spenga. I have lost about 50 pounds since I started working out here, with a consistent exercise routine and changes to my diet. I highly recommend Spenga and really enjoy working out there several days a week. The instructors are fun, have great music and I like the fact that we do something different every day.
I am new to Spenga and Im loving it! Im very happy I found this mix of exercise, it is the perfect way to start my day.
Spenga has given me the best workouts of my life! It is so unique and perfect. To start with a spin class that will rock your world and then to transition to a strength training session that’ll make you feel like a superhero hits the sweet spot for a truly great experience. But that was not all, to complete each workout session with a heart opening Yoga series that is mysteriously both challenging and soothing at the same time! Well, no wonder I feel both exhausted and rejuvenated from each Spenga workout. Spenga has not only unlocked the keys to a great workout. They have created a path to happiness from your heart to your strength to your soul…Thank you Spenga!
Great workout!! I have been a member for several months now and feel completely safe coming to SPENGA. The staff is fantastic, the facility gets sanitized after every class and I really enjoy the work.
The best workout studio in East Cobb! Love the people, love the variety of workouts and have seen great results.
So clean 🧼 So encouraging!! Love the 3 different exercises!!! No time to get board!! Love all three instructors: Jamal, Jordan & Megan! Woohoo!!
Best Workout ever! All of the staff are personable, friendly and helpful. I would defiantly recommend this workout. 20 min spin, 20 min strength, 20 min Yoga The perfect work out!
I have been to Spenga 5 times and I love it! The workout is so much fun and it goes by fast. Even in 5 sessions, I can tell a difference in my strength and my confidence. I definitely want to make this a part of my routine! Highly recommend.
Started going to SPENGA about a month ago and am really loving it! the workout keeps me interested and just when I start to get bored, we switch to a new type of exercise. I love the email updates letting me know my progress. SPENGA keeps me more motivated than any workout in years.
This is exactly the workout I’ve been looking for! Since my son was born 2 years ago, I’ve struggled to find a workout routine I can stick to. I needed something challenging but doable- other gyms I tried were just a little too much for me coming back and I had a hard time modifying them. SPENGA is so great because it’s tough but DOABLE and by the time I’m ready to quit, we’re moving on to the next phase. I really love that I get in cardio, weights and yoga in one class. And I feel like I can do it several times a week!
Fantastic workout! Its easy to go hard when the exercises switch so quickly. Usually I have to talk myself into pushing hard, but with SPENGA it happens automatically. Im already seeing results!
SPENGA East Cobb is where it’s at!!!!!!!! Seriously SUCH a good workout. Love love love the 20 minute intervals. If you’re looking for a workout to try - come here! The staff and instructors are amazing!!!
Great experience and a complete workout. The instructors are high energy and give guidance.
I’m loving the Spenga experience. The workouts are just the right amount of all three exercises and all the instructors are great!
Love the workout and the people that work there! The hour goes by so fast and feels so rewarding!
This creative trifecta of a workout is one of the best 60 minutes I’ve ever experienced! I’m hooked!
I was looking for a challenging workout that left me feeling energized, not depleted. Spenga offers a balanced approach of cardio, strength training and stretching. With its 20, 20, 20 minute design, I find myself pushing harder for the cardio/strength component. As a 52 year old, I appreciate the opportunity to really stretch my muscles through the yoga section while they are still warm! For the past decade I have taken bootcamp classes, but those classes started to leave me feeling tight and prone to injuries. Im feeling optimistic about Spenga -- I think I might have found my perfect exercise balance (and lets not forget the sparkling cleanliness of the Spenga studio! Such a refreshing contrast to dingy gyms with sweaty equipment!) Spenga, with its motivating instructors, sparkling clean studio, and balanced approach to wellness, might become my new addiction!
Best work out in Atlanta 💖💖💖💖💖🤍💖💖
Very clean, the instructor works with you. Theres no pressure to feel like youre competing against anyone. A little pricey
Love this workout!
I took a complimentary session at SPENGA last week and loved it. The studio is the cleanest and most visually appealing studio I have ever been to. The instructors are all so different and offer something for everyones preference. The front desk staff is amazing, always welcoming and helpful. I left feeling like the staff truly cared about me, which is sometimes hard to find in a fitness studio. The only reason I didnt join was because it was too far from my home. I can see why they won Best of East Cobb.
