Fast and accurate problem diagnosis and competent fix on a 24-year old Nissan pickup. Reasonable repair cost. Mr. Bowes took the time to show me what was wrong with a spark plug which caused a cylinder misfire and the check engine light to illuminate. I appreciate his extensive knowledge of problem symptoms in engines (even old ones), and his rapid repair skills.

This is my regular mechanic. My family trust him with our vehicles and the maintenance. He is honest and will not do work just to make money off the customers. Very trustworthy person.

I’ve been a satisfied customer of Bowes Automotive for many years, so when the power steering fluid of my 2000 Jaguar XK8 convertible leaked all over my garage floor I knew it was time to call Mick. The prognosis was expected – a busted power steering pump. Over the years I’ve trusted Bowes for professional, thorough work performed at a reasonable price. As my car has aged I’ve depended more and more on Mick’s sage advice and recommendations to keep it running well. I wouldn’t trust any other car maintenance facility under the hood, eh, bonnet of my Jaguar.

DISAPPOINTED! My beautiful 2001 Jaguar XJ8L was transferred to Bowes Automotive from another shop after a transmission failure. Mick diagnosed the car and advised me that the electronic ABS module caused the fault. After replacing the ABS PUMP and module, twice, the transmission continued to fail and new problems were introduced like WRONG PART FITTED. After three weeks, Mick advised me that it would cost in excess of $5000 to repair the car by installing a used $475 transmission with an unknown history. He offered me $500 for the car stating that it would look great sitting in his home garage. SOMETHING FISHY HERE! I had the car transferred to Enzo’s Automotive Service the next morning. I think it was Vance who helped me and never met the guy until I picked up the car who was extremely helpful, upfront, pleasant, and honest. The car was diagnosed with an A drum failure, which seems to be a common failure in these cars, at a cost of about $2700 which included changing the brake fluid and repairing the mess caused by Bowes Automotive, and replacing deteriorated coolant hoses and a coolant flush that Bowes seemed incapable of discovering. Enzos Even provided a 12MO/12000 warranty. My beautiful Jaguar runs PERFECT and is, once again, parked in MY garage. I can thank Mick for forcing me to look for a reputable Jaguar Specialists.

Mick is great to work with. If Mick is not there, beware. I dropped $1500 with one of his managers back in 2014 and my car was not fixed. The manager later acknowledged that he did not know what else to do.
