You can’t go wrong when booking with Johnny! Not only was the fishing experience awesome.. the hospitality we received from the crew felt like we were right at home! After a day of catching we got to sit down with Johnny & enjoy a few drinks and great food! Definitely recommend booking with him, he’s a great guy all the way around, we will be back for sure!

You can’t go wrong with this crew! We did a half day charter on a morning where winds were high, but Captain Jim and Isaac knew exactly where to go for a smooth ride and still be able to catch plenty of fish. They were knowledgeable about not only their industry but the whole Keys area as well. We had a great time (and a great fresh lunch after, thanks to their recommendations on where to get our catch cooked!) and would definitely book another trip with them if we’re back in the Marathon area. Thank you both for a great day!

Jim and Isaac were a great Capt and mate, worked very good together. We struck out at our first stop but they moved us around and we were on fish the rest of the day! They were very patient and gave great instructions to a family of lake and pond fishers. We will definitely use them again if we come back to the Keys!

I rented the boat for a private half day charter and went out 10 miles in the Gulf and fished in the same spot for 4 (ish) hours in only 8ft of water. Asked the Capitan to move spots a couple times and was told this is the best place. All we landed was 12 small mangroves.Ive been on multiple charters in the Gulf / Atlantic and every single one, if we dont catch good fish, we move spots every 20-30 minutes. Ive landed better and bigger fish on the big party boats with 60+ people fishing.We got ripped off!

My wife and I went out with these guys for our anniversary. We had a great day with captain Johnny and his mates. Thats right I said MATES plural. We had 2 great guys working hard and having fun all day. Both his mates were also captains with master license. Both Jim and Isaac did a great job for us and Captain Johnny put us on the fish. The morning started off slow, but he kept monitoring VHF and looking for the weedlines/birds. Wound up running up to the Marathon hump and almost limited out on Blackfin in an hour. Headed back in and picked off 4 dolphin too. We had a great day and these guys put on a great charter. The boat was in good shape, rides pretty smooth, and gets you there and back nice and dry. We would go out with them again in a heartbeat.

This was an absolute awesome time. Caught tons of fish and wife reeled in a huge shark. I am definitely interested in going again when I am back here on vacation.Thanks Roy for helping the wife get that shark reeled in...

Cant speak for the fishing but Capt. Johnny and his crew definitely deserve your business! On a recent trip to the Keys, my husband made a somewhat spontaneous decision to release his fathers ashes in the ocean. We soon found out that you have to be at least 3 miles offshore to do so and were advised to try calling some charter boat captains to see if any would be willing. Capt. Johnny just happened to be our first call, and Im so glad he was! He agreed to take us out for a reasonable rate, the boat was clean and well-maintained, but most importantly the whole crew was compassionate, considerate, and professional. We didnt have much of a ceremony planned, but when my husband briefly mentioned that his dad had been a diver, they went to lengths to find a diver down flag to fly while we released him. They also took note of the GPS coordinates, which is something we hadnt thought of but are glad for & my husband will now likely incorporate into a commemorative tattoo. Go out with Capt. Johnny and ask him to take you to Daves spot - I bet youll have some good luck!

When I booked this trip with Captain Maddox I made sure he knew how important it was for my grandsons to have a fun day fishing. Man did he deliver. The boys were fishing for almost the whole five hours we were out there and caught lots of fish including sharks which was a big thrill for them. Then back at the dock where they were cleaning the catch they were feeding tarpon sharks by hand, again a great experience. I can’t recommend Captain Maddox and Captain Jim more highly. Book them and have a lot of fun.

My family and I were lucky enough to spend a beautiful afternoon onboard Captain Johnny Maddox just this week. This was my daughters first fishing trip and Captain Johnny and Captain Jim made this the best experience! They were kind funny and very knowable about well everything! They never got tired of the endless questions from both of my kids. We caught so many fish. She is hooked now and the family will be back for her birthday. Thank you again for this wonderful experience.

Great 1/2 day fishing trip. Lots of Mangrove Snapper yellow tail a Goliath grouper brought along side even some “gator mouthed” sow speckled Trout. Both Capt Maddox and his mate Jim did everything they could to make our day and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Patty and I will be back soon.

Awesome trip for the whole family. Plenty of action for the kids and some big fish wearing dad out.

Our family spent a full day offshore fishing and we had a blast. Captain Chris and the mate, Dillon, were fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We caught mahi, yellow tail and a mangrove. We highly recommend fishing with this crew!
