I loved my visit to Modern American Dentistry. The staff was super friendly, helpful and professional. My hygienist Victoria made me feel at ease, addressed all my concerns confidently and is super smart on how diet can affect or oral health. Dr Gould was great he is basically the modern Weston A Price and if you dont know who that is you should! I trust Dr Gould to not push services on me that are not needed. He is an expert on sleep apnea and has a different approach, he treats the neurological aspect to apnea not just the structural . I love the fact that the whole office had a more holistic and lifestyle approach. The dental assistants also took the time to clean my appliance thoroughly . This is a happy office.

Moved to the South Bay 3 years ago and hadnt found a good dentist in the area. So finally decided to try one that my insurance recommended and lucky for me it was Dr. Gould. He is an amazing person, from the start the initial exam he takes the time to evaluate you and will tell you whats the appropriate treatment and which can be done urgent and which can you leave for later to help you maximize your insurance benefits. He is courteous, excellent bedside manner and very good at his profession. I was in serious need of treatment and in a month he has taken care of my most uncomfortable ailments. I am so happy with his office! Before I forget his office staff is wonderful too!

I highly recommend Dr. Gould. He just performed a root canal on me. Despite it being a multi-step procedure, I was very comfortable the whole time. I felt no pain. I have been a patient of Dr. Gould / Modern American Dentistry for the past decade. The name of Gould’s practice is apropos to the methodologies that he applies towards both dental and general health. From routine procedures to sleep studies and vitamin D monitoring, Gould’s techniques push the envelope, and the boundaries of mainstream medical beliefs. In various instances he has provided me with insights that went unchecked by my physician. I’m a big fan.

I have been with Dr. Gould for 20 years now. There is no other dentist I could imagine going to. His staff is wonderful and helpful. I feel that I get the best dental care I expect. My teeth always feel fresh and taken care of when I leave. Dr. Gould is a leader in his profession. I highly recommend him if you want a new dentist or just dont have one.

I pay out-of-pocket to visit the hygienist three times a year. I love having my teeth cleaned! And although I felt very safe with their Covid safety precautions the hygienist talked way more than she cleaned my teeth! She was very kind and courteous and lovely…but I came to get my teeth cleaned. 60% of our time was her chatting away and I was there for 50 mins.

Dr. Gould and his team seem to take every precaution and it was a very well run office. I was very comfortable throughout the process, I think if they add an automated temperature scanner system it would reduce some of their staff workload, but other than that I was very impressed and would recommend anybody going even just for a regular cleaning.I also would commend the professionalism of their front office people. Though I did miss the usual polishing which apparently is on hold for the staff safety

Dr. Gould is the best dentist around. The last dentist I had told me I needed a tooth replaced at the cost of $5000!!! I went to Joel for a 2nd opinion and he said the tooth was fine and just needed a crown. I had the tooth fixed that day. Since then I’ve been going to Joel and my teeth are in great shape. Highly recommended!

I’ve been going to Dr Gould for almost 20 years and I won’t go to anyone else. I started with him when I was around 12 years old and I’m 28 now. Dr Gould has done multiple procedures on my teeth outside of normal maintenance and I feel like he does exceptional work. I also trust him to make an honest diagnosis and I would recommend him for any type of dental work. The ladies in the front are also very pleasant every time I am in the office or on the phone with them.

I was a patient here a few years back. I had to move but now I’m back. I went back to Dr. Joel Gould because he keeps up with the latest tech and services in the dental field. I felt at ease and had a great experience going back. I highly recommend his dentistry.

I love this dentistry. Everyone was incredibly personable and thorough. I seriously left and was thinking wow that was actually very enjoyable I dont think most people can say that too often after a dental visit. Very clean, music playing was good and all the equipment looked very up to date. Dr Gould and Olga were top notch. Also everyone at reception were great. I wont dread going back to the dentist now that Ive found this dentistry.

I have been to more than 4 dentists over the last two years and Dr. Gould and his staff are the best out there. They are always on time, super friendly and the office is very clean. I went in for a filling and also wanted to fix my two front teeth. Instead of suggesting veneers which would cost a lot of $$$ and was said to be the only fix by all other dentists he gave me other less expensive options and I didnt even have to lose my teeth to veneers. I have already recommended this place to my entire office and my friends.

This dentist is basically a mad genius, a high speed, high energy idea factory, and a true artisan. You probably wont be able to keep up with him conversationally or otherwise, and my advice would be not to try to do so. Just lean back and hell get it done for you.Im speaking as someone with fifteen crowns, so I know my dentists. We ask a lot from our dentists, when you think about it a bit. They are required to be artists and forge realistic looking prostheses indistinguishable from the genuine article. We are satisfied with a prosthetic leg if it works, but everybody accepts that it will look like a prosthetic leg. A prosthetic tooth has to be functional...and beautiful.So heres this guy who has to be the best of artisans, *and* understand the underlying sciences. This is not the description of an everyday person, nor would you want one for this. If youre near enough to this practice, this is the guy you want.

Very friendly and very helpful. I brought my two kids in for appointments as well, and as I was in the chair, they took very good care of my one year old while he ran around trying to see his sister who was also in the chair adjacent. He hadnt had a very good nap that afternoon, so he wasnt on his best behavior either; regardless, they were very kind and patient. When we entered the office for the first time a month ago (just to see if they took our insurance), Dr. Gould himself came out just to say hello. My teeth feel GREAT right now!

Some of the problems I have had with my dental health, stem from less than positive experiences with other dental practitioners. As a result I delayed and postponed necessary dental work...for years. As always, I had an awesome experience at my dentist. I dont know about you guys but I have never been able to say that until I started going to Modern American Dentistry.In the past I would go to my dentist and I always felt I had pretty good teeth, you know. However, every dentist Ive ever been at prior to this one had always, and I mean always at every visit tried to sell me some kind of extra item that my insurance didnt cover. It always felt like it was unnecessary. There was a serious lack of trust. And come on, you have to be able to trust your dentist!Besides that huge super important factor, every time I go to my dentist, everyone is always so nice and so helpful and so genuinely concerned with making sure I have a good visit. Customer service and peace of mind are not lost at my dentist. Its awesome..I was just in for a routine cleaning with my hygienist. She was so nice, so helpful and so informed.And for myself as a single person I couldnt help but notice that she was absolutely beautiful. As a young man just coming into the workforce and finally getting insurance, I hadnt been to a dentist in 7 or 8 years. I scheduled my appointment and was a little nervous about going in. Victoria (one of the hygienists there) made me feel totally at home, and did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth and letting me know exactly what was going on. Dr. Gould is running a stellar dental practice, and I would highly suggest anyone to go here for their dental work.

I didn’t even have an appointment- I had an emergency situation....some ulcer/sore towards the back of my mouth. I just moved here, so they will for sure be my new dentist. I walked in and they were all very kind and welcoming. Dr. was a pleasure and very understanding. Thank you

I gave this four stars as Sonia was awesome! The pain point for me as a new patient was a quick exam by the dentist followed by youll need three crowns and here is my estimate. whoa, wait a second here! I have not had a cavity or dental problem requiring a drill in years. Dentist wants to replace older fillings with crowns. My position is if it aint broke no need to fix. I most likely will not return as I am not a fan of shelling out hundreds for crowns that simply put are not necessary.

I would put zero star if Google has this option. The office is poorly managed in terms of insurance claim. Usually they always suggest you to use your unused insurance benefit before year end. And they told me to perform a deep cleaning because it is necessary and insurance covered. And it turned out they did not checked with the insurance at all and obtain pre-authorization. The claim was rejected by insurance company and they kept coming after me for the payment which is an unnecessary treatment for me. They are more care about money than the patient. The payment is a few hundreds bucks which is not a big deal to me but the experience is really bad. This is the worst managed dentist practice in terms of handling insurance I have ever experienced.

I dont know who that wacko kingston is down there but Dr. Gould is a real licensed dentist. His expertise goes beyond teeth and treats sleep apnea too. Im at the beginning of my health journey with Dr. Gould with his modern sleep solutions. Im excited to transform my body and mind!!!

I had a crown break off and I called the office. They squeezed me in and I got to meet Dr. Gordon. WOW! He is so gentle, kind and funny. I was worried about judgement and pain. Ok, so Ive never loved going to the dentist, who does, but its a necessity in order to keep good health. Ive been going to Dr Goulds office for 8 years, since I moved to the area. The office is modern and clean, Im always seen quickly, and the front desk ladies are always friendly and efficient. My husband and I go regularly for cleanings and our technician, Sonja, is awesome! We actually schedule our appts around her availability. Im sure others are great too, but shes our girl :) The few times Ive had a filling or crown replaced and spent time with Dr. Gould have also been pleasant. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. All treatments have been comfortable and with little to no pain. I highly recommend Modern American Dentistry.

The office is immaculate and well equipped. The hygienist I got, forgot her name, was really cool.This is where things got a little off-putting.First, the office was blasting Christian music. May not be a deal breaker for many, but it seemed a little pushy if you ask me. (imagine you walk into my office and I was blasting Meshuggah)The doctor comes in and at first seems great. Tells me what my problems are and what the plan of action is. So far good stuff. Then proceeds to sell me vitamins and to doubt the diagnosis from my imunologist...The prices seemed a bit high but what do you expect from a dental Jace in Manhattan Beach.I am ambivalent about going back because of the whole doubting a diagnosis on a disease thats not his expertise.

This Dentist (Dr. Gould) is Under Investigation by the American Dental Association....READ THE YELP REVIEWS! There’s definitely a malpractice pattern with Him!This dentist was highly unprofessional and unethical. When asked to review the X-rays, he said there were cavities, but when challenged, he said he was just kidding!?! He falsely said i needed a crown when there were no cavities, and admittedly misdiagnosed my treatment plan. He prescribes medication ILLEGALLY!Since i declined his treatment plan he called me to apologize and said he makes mistakes but then he continued and offered me anti-anxiety pills without proper prescriptions and told me because he was a dental surgeon it was okay...ILLEGAL!!

If dental offices were restaurants this place would be Spago and Dr. Omar would be Wolfgang Puck! But all jokes aside, seriously! This place is the best. I dont plan on going anywhere else moving forward because it would just be 2nd place to Modern American Dentistry (MAD). Ive been there for 4 separate appointments and every one there is friendly and professional. They really make you feel welcome and taken care of. My first visit was just for a check up and general cleaning. Towards the end Dr. Omar came in and went over my results with me and his battle plan to get my chompers into tip top shape. He let me know Id have to do two more deep cleanings and a few fillings. Generally this is where the dental anxiety kicks. You could be the most technically sound dentist in the world but if you cant put your patients at ease you wont be a good healthcare provider. Not Dr. Omar!!! He was able to assuage my distress by thoroughly reviewing the procedure with me, what he was going to accomplish and what Id experience. I left the office with out any of the usual dread surrounding the upcoming procedures and knowing I was in the care of Dr. Omar and the MAD staff. I returned for two more deep cleanings and to get my fillings done. The cleanings were done by Jaime the Dental Hygienist! She, like everyone else at MAD, was friendly and professional! Jaime constantly made sure I was doing okay and chatted with me to get through the lengthy cleaning. My last appointment ran a bit behind, it was understandable since it was the end of the day and things happen. While I was waiting, the front desk staff chatted with me, offered me water and made sure I didnt feel forgotten about. When it was Dr. Omars turn to run the show he didnt rush and once again took great care to explain what hed be doing and what I should expect. At this point Id go to MAD just to hang out with the staff. I also wanted to mention the eclectic and educational magazine collection. The only medical office Ive with copies of Archaeology magazine. Not only did I leave with a clean bill of dental health but a new found understand and appreciation of South American mummies. Great Doctor! I was a little bit spectical at first when he told me I need to replace my fillings, but I am so glad I did. He also has been a tremendous helpful with my sleep and grinding problems..

Excellent experience, had a broken tooth and they took me right in. Best part was how they contacted my insurance and then presented me a breakdown of the final cost, with all my payment options. I fired my last dentist for never explaining what he was doing, then sending a large bill for something I would never have approved if I understood the cost!
