Kudos on the spin class! 5 stars for Kristine. Her routines get your heart pumpin and the music keeps you motivate. I like the mix in of the upper body work as well. Only reason for the final 4 star score is because the bikes need to be maintained better.
The gym is a great place to relieve stress and they have COVID protocols in place. There is extra cleaning going on and some bottle cleaners that can be used individually in addition to cleaning by staff.Masks are required coming/going but not while working out although it’s about a half/half mix on people wearing/not wearing them. There’s ample parking and the gym is usually not full/crowded.
Christine K. (Cycling instructor) holds such an amazing class. I enjoy going to her classes, such a positive encouraging environment!!
Nice, clean gym, very big. I wish they just had more stair masters machines, those get taken up pretty quick, going M-T between 5:10-6:45 expect it to be super busy.
Nice gym! Equipment is newish, nice zumba room with classes and perfect for working out in when there arent any classes, racquetball courses, cycling room, basketball court, lots of machinery, usually not crazy packed. Overall nice gym!
Its a good clean gym thats huge with a pool and racquetball. Basically anything you want. Classes. Trainers. A lot of free weights. There are several cardio machines that need maintenance though. Overall a very good gym at a manageable price.
I have never joined a gum, much less hired a trainer. But February of this year, I decided it was time and joined the LA fitness on Liberia. The customer service is awesome! Ricardo, who signed me up, connected me with JP who is THE BEST TRAINER EVER!!!!He is always in contact with me if I have any questions about my off time on the machines, he has a great sense of humor and does not listen to my whining. If I complain, he adds another 5 reps. I highly recommend la fitness on Liberia and jp for training!!!!
Very rude man upfront. When spoken to, he just sits there with his hand holding up his head while mindlessly scrolling through his phone. This has happened to me and a couple others, he just sits there and ignores you when you try to check in or ask questions. Very rude and inattentive. I also noticed that when he gets up from the desk, he walks with his head down, glued to his phone. Why even have a job if youre going to be kissing your phone all day? Bad employee.
This LA Fitness club is top notch. Its a new club and most all of the equipment is newer and kept in good working order. The managers Lori and Ernesto are very personable and great to work with . Classes and instructors are great! Definitely recommend this gym! Randy McHugh
High volume fitness gym that get super busy mid-morning through evening. Excellent equipment, Olympics pool used alot, and locker room staff keeps the operation neat and clean. Group activities are a big plus. I always found the treadmills and weights to be accessible. And front office/door staff very friendly and great to work with. 5 stars even with the crowds.
Spacious place pools okay, they need to get up and running with the maintenance on their Whirlpool jacuzzis hot tubs whatever you call them! Above all they need to absolutely replace those lockers the rust inside them are horrible and can damage clothes and belonging!!
I love working out here because it’s never too crowded even during peek time. They open up early enough to come in before work. I have been coming here since the pandemic started and I have always felt safe. You must wear a mask to walk in but you don’t have to keep it on while working out, but you do have to in the restrooms. It’s always clean and everyone is friendly. I highly recommend a membership.
I cant believe I was paying the same price for a lesser gym last week. This place is excellent! Tons of space, machines, free weights, pool, sauna, and racket ball courts. Worth the price.
I visited from California for a month. I left on a weekend. Apparently, only a manager can fully cancel your membership. The staff told me they would do it. I found out they did not. I tried to cancel it in California but the staff told me I would have to either physically come to the gym or mail a document to cancel the membership. I thought Golds gym was dubious in membership cancellation but dealing with this is much worse. Golds is right down the street, go there instead.
I had Ernesto and I am so glad I did. I really loved how he was professional and helpful. Answered all my questions I had (and there was a lot). And gave a great tour. And he made me feel very welcomed. 😃
I wish they would fix the patting and hadles on half of the machines. I remember a while back theyre used to be a guy that would come around and do just that.
We are new members and will soon be non-members. The initial impression when I met with Ernesto was positive. The gym itself was well-equipped with plenty of exercise equipment, a pool, basketball court, and locker room, all a person needs to get a good workout. The location is good for me as well. Ive been able to workout several times so far and have had no problems finding and using the equipment I need. Here is what I didnt like:I was promised a digital version of the contract emailed to me and it never was. I contacted the club to get a digital copy but they said they couldnt, but they printed me one off.Second, I made an appointment for an initial personal training fitness assessment and no one ever showed up. This appointment was made by the manager.Thirdly, when my wife as a new member wanted to tour the club, she went in and the people at the front desk told her to go look around herself instead of having someone help and show her where everything is and explain about the club.Fourthly, after my assessment, the trainer said he would call my wife that day or the next day at the latest to set up an appointment with her. This didnt happen for several days. Eventually my wife went in for her initial personal training fitness assessment and reported to me that she felt she was doing the various exercises incorrectly and the trainer did not offer any correction. She felt unsafe and feared she may hurt her shoulder from not being in the proper position.Lastly, I informed the trainer when I was there I wanted to give my wife personal training, none were offered to her. I was astounded, but I guess my money isnt good enough for this place.Advice: When you promise your customers something, deliver on that promise. I was let down four times. Three is usually my limit.
PRICY BUT LOVE THE EQUIPMENT THEY OFFER
Clean, upper scale gym club. There is plenty of equipment, including dumbells, barbells, machines, etc. I rarely find myself waiting in a line to use something. They also have a pool, showers, basketball court, racketball court, and room for classes. For the price, this is my go to gym.
Has the barebones of what you need in a decent gym. They have broken equipment that hasnt been fixed since i joined a year ago. Theres so much equipment breaking i fully expect half of all the machines to be unusable in a couple of months
Great place to work out, the staff were nice and the equipment was clean. Plus, the shower here are great, you wont want to leave.
Ive been coming here for years and their always cool always friendlyFacilities are always clean for the most part and the gym is pretty organized and spacious
So i have seen this trend with many gyms and i was hoping this gym would be different. I cam here for a long time but i stopped once the pandemic happened. I came back today and only about 30% of the people there were wearing masks. they have announcements and signs saying you need to wear a mask, however, the staff does nothing about it and the majority of the people in there simply dont want to wear a mask. I would have just thought a place like this would actually enforce a mask wearing policy instead of hosting a breading grounds for this virus. also, instead of taking the temperature with your forehead, they use your hands. that makes absolutely zero sense because our hands will be much colder than our head. especially on a cold day. this is a good gym but the zero responsibility regarding masks turned me away very quickly
Been going there for years and still one of the best gyms around with access to the pool and steam rooms
I love working out here. The layout and equipment selection is amazing. The managers are extremely friendly and have done an outstanding job in reopening the club. They always are wearing masks and spend the majority of their time walking around, sanitizing and cleaning all of the weights and machines. You definitely feel comfortable and safe working out here!
Im so happy the gym is open! La fitness is great for all the usual. They got 5 stars because I called post corona opening and I was cranky! The young man that I spoke to: amazing ! Calm informative and friendly! Thank you!
Overall a clean facility, it pretty much runs itself. I found that the staff has had an annoying way of ignoring you. When I signed up I checked in and waited 45 minutes before I mentioned I had been waiting for a representative to show me around. Same thing happened with health assessment. They forgot about my appointment, representative was to busy working out himself. As long as you can work out on your own youll be fine. Just dont expect great service here.
It’s an okay gym but some equipment are broken and people that go here leave the dumbbells in the wrong places and don’t clean up after themselves.
Thank you Carlos G for your outstanding customer service.
I left the subscription and since then I have tried to get them to stop charging my credit card, for the last 5 months, they are making double charges, I have passed letters in writing and gone to talk to them, and they keep charging my account illegally. DONT LET THEM RIP OFF LA FITNESS
A lot damaged equipment
Not too busy, very clean machines
Before COVID-19, this was a great facility. I would go at different times of day and the only place where there would be a wait would be the pool. Sidebar: it is interesting that they have a 20 min limit on cardio equipment if there are people waiting but nothing about the pool.Since COVID-19 and reopening, I do not go as often. I got every 3 weeks or so to see if they have improved their standards. My issues may be my issues, but they are supposed to be following the CDC and state guidelines. My issues are as follows:-the temperature check they do is on the arm and not the forehead unless the arm is covered.-they have a table with the bottles to wipe down the equipment after use with the approved EPA cleaner, though I need to read the website for instructions, but they do not require members to use it. And as such...-there are still members who use equipment and do not wipe down the machine at all or...-the members use the same sanitizer that is in the walls but we do not know if that is EPA compliant against the corona virus.-there are still members who walk around with no mask on when the guidelines state that it must be worn when walking around/between equipment.I understand that the people who work there dont want the extra work or any confrontations. So, I do not go regularly. Of course, I am spending the money on my monthly dues +3 other people in my family. It may be time to suspend my membership until people are compliant or we make it through the pandemic...
Not too full in the early morning, I was able to use the machines I wanted. Could not find a designated stretching area but that was fine.
Was a great gym for the time that I went there and had no issues up to the date of my cancellation period. They could have a little more equipment like squat racks and stuff but the equipment is not the issue. The customer service here is subpar with the root of the issue lying at the top of the management team. I went in to cancel my membership and the person at the front desk told me that they would do it and I have nothing to worry about. I check my bank statement at the end of the month to find out my membership had not been canceled. So I call LA Fitness to ask for my money back and to try and cancel again and the general manager is giving my a hard time about getting my money back when his worker said that he would cancel it and I had nothing to worry about. I eventually have to call corporate to cancel my membership and get my money back. Decent gym, not worth the headache. Take your money to Gold’s
This place is pretty awesome. They have a wide variety of machines for strength training, many options for cardio, a 3 lane pool, 4 racket ball courts and a lot of classes available to join. Its also very affordable. I plan on joining this weekend and I am really looking forward to it!
They make it very painful to cancel your membership especially during this hard times. Only the manager can cancel your account and I tried three tines to talk to him and he is either out sick or taking a lunch break. Also they like double charging people on their bank accounts.
Good people, staff, kept well maintained considering the circumstances going on at the moment...
Zumba class with Alhondra is excellent 👌
They have rude front desk staff and terrible hours for the monthly fees. The back staff have poor communication with members. They say come in come out with a mask even though you don’t have to wear one when working out BUT the front desk staff pick and choose who they tell to cover up with a mask as they leave. i don’t mind wearing a mask when i exit BUT MAKE SURE YOU TELL EVERYONE since the front desk staff likes to pick and choose who they enforce that on. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars is because its 5 min away from where I live
One word could sum this place up. Disappointing. It smells old, feels old, and looks old.I’ve gone to 2 LA Fitness locations the brand new one in Herndon and this ratty one in Manassas. Place is due for a serious remodel.
Used to be great...now it’s a place where high school kids hangout, enough said. If you serious about training don’t waste your time with this gym. You will have 3 morons sit around equipment for 2 hours talking about how he fingered a girl ...
Pretty good. Except for their hours at on the weekends. Wish theyd open at 5am on the weekends too. Has all the basics covered from cardio to strength training. Everything comes with their basic package from the Basketball court to pool. But the racket ball court is a separate payment plan.
The highest dumbbell is 100lbs and bumper plates doesn’t exist here but it gets the job done. Only suggestion I have here is for them to move the heavy dumbbells to the bottom rack and lighter weight to the upper rack. My opinion, but it’ll mitigate heavier weights being dropped and mitigate people from getting hurt while racking/unracking.
I wouldnt recommend going around 4pm-8pm. The basketball pick up games are 30+ mins wait. Most of the machines are taken up. They have an okay size pool, 3 lanes 4 ft deep. The bathroom pretty big with long lockers. Great Steam room for recovery. But other than that, after those hours the gym is perfectly yours. Very clean, well maintained. They have great classes and good instructors as well.
I had been going here for a while and everything is good until you want to cancel. They charge $10 to suspend your account when not in use. When I wanted to cancel my account, they told me I had to come in the gym (annoyingly inconvenient) since I am super busy. Now there telling I can cancel via mail in form (also inconvenient). So im out $50 because they dont have basic customer service systems in place!
Taking necessary precautions during COVID. Equipment cleaning, sanitizing stations and temperature checks.
The new staff are very unprofessional and rude, and Mr. Duncan who is supposedly a manager is not professional at all and doesnt even know about their policies on their own website about issuing a guest pass. After a year in a half of being a member of the gym, paying every month even though I was out for almost a year because of a car accident, also paying for my sister who couldnt go back because of medical reasons, I finally was able to go back and took my mom to try it and see if she likes the gym and then join. I went to talk to one of the managers Mr. Duncan to see the different options I had because I needed to cancel my sisters membership but I wanted my mom to join. He didnt care about it nor even paid attention to us. There was a friend of mine who is a member of the gym and knew him and it was through him that my mom got a pass for 3 days. She couldnt use the pass right away because of some issues she had so Mr. Duncan called my mom again the first week of May to see when she was going to use the 3 days pass and my mom told him that she was gonna go the that weekend so he said that it was fine. When we got there on Sunday, May 8 (mothers day) Mr. Duncan told my mom that the pass already expired, without even looking at it, and there was nothing that he could do about it, so my mom told him that he told her in the phone that it was ok to go that weekend and that she was only going to use that one day of the pass, and now he was saying no.My mom felt humiliated on her day that she wanted to do something different and that we were there ready to do some exercise and he didnt even let her used the gym for that day.The new staff that the gym has now are very unprofessional and dont know anything about customer service or how to treat probable new members nor their own members. They are very rude and not friendly at all. I guess they already have enough members that they dont care about losing a member nor getting new ones. They are only nice to those they like, when every member should have the same rights and be treated with the same respect.According to the website, once you are issued a free 3 days pass you have 30 days to activate it at the club and then use it for 3 consecutive days. My mom never activated hers and it was less than 3 weeks so according to their rules, she was still able to use it and Mr. Duncan didnt let her get in.Now Im gonna look for a new gym who cares and provides good costumer service.
Everything is clean, sanitized and ready to use!
Clean with enough free weight benches almost always.
LA Fitness is probably my favorite gym ever to go to. Great service, diverse equipment, and nice clean facility. Only thing Id add is towel service and more sinks in the bathrooms. A friend invited me to Life Time Fitness and absolute loved their towel service. LA Fitness should do that. It gives customers a better experience.
Awesome place. Clean. Lots of equipment to work with. They offer classes including spin classes! Massage chairs would be a nice addition.
Im cancelling my membership. Between 12/22/2017 & 12/29/2017 all of the classes were cancelled. This was the last straw for me. This store doesnt care about what their customers want or need.1. Clean the cup holders on the exercise equipment. It really grosses me out when I try to put my water down and there is a piece of gum in the cup holder. It really really grosses me out when that piece of gum is still there a week later.2. Make sure all of the TVs are working on each piece of equipment each day. If not do a service ticket to get it fixed. Put a note on the machine to let your customers know you care about their gym experience, are sorry and are working on the issue.3. Order more weights. I didnt take them so I dont care that you have a problem with corporate and they wont allow you to order more. I just want weights available when I come.4. Stay open and quit cancelling classes all the time. Dont follow the federal government schedule, follow the Golds gym schedule. You know your competitor located right across the street.5. Is it suppose to be a salt water pool?
Just wanted to put out a positive word to Van. I was visiting this club over the holidays, and Van went out of his way to introduce himself, chat, and offer assistance with anything I needed. L.A. Fitness could use more of you, Van! Thanks for an enjoyable visit to the club.
Excellent general purpose gym, plenty of cardio machines, free weights and weight machines. 3 squat racks so theres usually one free. No power lifting area and a small space for deadlifts but otherwise excellent
Its an gym with a mini pool and decent locker room and weight setup. They do not clean though. If going when they first open on a weekday or weekend, expect empty bottles, rags, towels left, etc when starting your workout, dirty. Oh and weights are never put away at night so go hunting for what you need. So, I went back to Lifetime Fitness where they have cleaners that work hard and staff that puts weights back throughout the day and take care of the facility.
Everything is clean, new, and works. Most, if not all, the weights in place. If ALL LA fitness gyms were like this one, LA Fitness would be the greatest gym franchise in the US
Its clean, has every piece of equipment that I want to use, and the people are polite and professional.
This is my favorite gym! I am not saying that because its the only one near me, because there are other gyms by me. This one is the cheapest one near me by a couple hundred dollars a year
I absolutely love the gym. It has a lot of varieties of equipment. However, the customer service seems to suck here. As a new member, I had an appointment with a personal trainer, Clarissa, at 9 am and she never showed up. I texted her she never replied back. I had to wait until 9:30 am to get a call from the front desk asking me to reschedule...Smh.
Equipment was nice and restrooms were clean. But lots kiddos, felt like I was in a highschool gym class, (even at 10pm). No one seems to get the concept of racking up their weights.
LA Fitness took over Ballys Health Clubs and is probably the largest national fitness chain. This location is across the from Massage Envy and Buffalo Wild Wings. It is a nice, clean facility. Bring your headphones for the treadmills. It is a great place to work out.
Nice gym when its not busy. But when its busy they dont have a lot of equipment and its very hard, impossible, to get a good workout in.
Nice gym... clean... always open equipment.... small pool... but, Ive never seen it crowded.
It is my Gym ..clean, with a lot of machines, big parking lot. I love going theare
Terrible customer service, rude employees, and not as clean as one would expect. Today I called to cancel my membership and was told that the only way to cancel was to come in a fill out a form with the operations manager. When I arrived, all the girl asked for was my name, phone number, clicked a button and said it was cancelled... no form, no operations manager. This was an inconvenience that obviously could have been avoided and when I asked further about this form they were dismissive and snappy.Do not get a membership here.
These people are crooks!! Last December I canceled, I find out in August they have been charging my card since then, yes I should have noticed alot sooner, however my bank suggested I cancel card and get a new card, now Im getting at least 12 calls daily threatening me with late charges of I dont update credit card info.. INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY! Stay away.. they will try to make it impossible to cancel.
Amazing and staff been going for 5years
This place is really deceptive and poorly managed - I would recommend finding another option. They do not clearly disclose their billing practices. They charge a sign-up fee, ok; and then they charge you an annual maintenance fee, whatever. Trick is they charge you the yearly fee two months after you sign up - not the next year. What was the initiation fee for? They dont tell you this. And then they charge you that fee, per person - not per account. AND they do it over multiple months... For what purpose other than to slide it in under the radar. It would be much better to be upfront about the costs - all of them.To add insult to injury - calling to cancel did not result in the account actually getting cancelled. Yep - got charged again the next month. Turns out Christian (the manager!) tells me over the phone that my request to cancel the membership will recorded and result in no more bills to my account. Nope - you have to go in person and do that, or mail in a form. Youd think the manager would be aware of these requirements. The nail in the coffin was that he kept calling me Boss - really!?! Thanks Bro!Overall a bad experience and their customer service is the worst.
The gym is understaffed. When I would work out in the evening, weights would be everywhere because no one puts them away. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING!!! The personal training contract is separate from the gym contract and you CANNOT CANCEL even though you might move 50 miles away and have ZERO access to the gym you still have to pay your personal training fee. And corporate just says that since my contract was signed in Virginia they cant cancel. Are you KIDDING me? Just say its your corporate policy. It has nothing to do with my state. You cant talk to anyone outside of their corporate call center. And Paul, the personal training manager, wouldnt call me back. My trainer quit and there was a period of two weeks where I COULD NOT get in for training because they didnt offer me one of the Master Trainers since I dont pay for that. For me, that means the terms of the contract changed. If I cant get into a trainer whenever I want, then theyre not holding up their end of the bargain. They also said theyd call me when they have another trainer available. They never did. Meaning Paul never called me back and the front desk person said the operations manager would call me back and he never did either. The place is a joke. And they only clean the facility once a day. My trainer when she still worked there told me that. Itd say its unbelievable but its not. I hear stories like this all the time about gyms. Im just dumb to have believed it wouldnt happen to me.
Needs new equipment, I just do not like the color which is grey. They should have a more energetic color. But its ok they have the pool, and punching bags which is a plus in what I was looking for in a gym.
Kate is amazing... I go for group classes
Great gym but they need to upgrade their restroom facility....its a bit outdated. Everything else is top notch!!
The staff are great and its not too busy after 8pmClean place, decent machine selection, and over all great experience so far.
Talk about being unprofessional, the staff responsible for signing up new members is rude and immature. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a guy named Luis. Not only did Luis struggle to explain various fees and contract stipulations, but he also pointed to several female gym goers as possible “eye-candy” for me. I would not want my wife or kids to be part of a gym, which encourages this sort of behavior and uses female members as an incentive to join. The facility might be nice, but the management really put me off, would not recommend!
Great place to work out. Wish they carried towels in the lockers and offered more variety of classes.
Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Clean and lots of equipment
Nice facility, fairly new and well-maintained. Friendly staff and good amenities
Its cool, There are a lot of machines.
Great price. Watch it. At their Manassas location the dirty mats and the clean mats are all mixed in one pile in the cardio room. I left a message for the manager and two weeks later no change.
This LA Fitness is pretty average, it has all that you need but is so over priced, I dont know how I ever got swindled into going here. I signed up for a Summer Contract that the salesman was telling me about I was told to pay 2/3 up front and then the rest a month later, he said I wouldnt need to worry about cancelling or anything because when the summer ended and I went back to school it would be cancelled for me. So i went sporadically over the summer and it was alright, not great, but okay. Several months later i was looking at my bank account activity and i noticed a charge from LA fitness, one every month since the summer. I called their customer service (who was actually helpful) and she informed me that there is no such thing as a summer contract all the salesman had me do was sign for a normal contract where there was no automatic cancellation. Im in college and i really could have used that nearly $300 that is lost forever. Good job shady LA Fitness salesman, you got me.
Friendly Staff, great place to exercise and a nice swimming pool.
The gym was not the issue, the management is. When you try to cancel your membership the manager will be super rude and tell you that he will not refund you. I tried to cancel my gym membership 4 times and the “general manager” was never there. When I finally met with him, he was extremely rude and said he would not refund me even though his assistant manager told me that he would. Save yourself some time, don’t become a member.
Good gym, gotta hit the locker room cleaning and maybe encourage people to return weights
Been coming for years
Indoor lap pool. Lots of aerobic and weight machines. Huge free weight area. Spin classes. Basketball court. Racquet ball courts. Training area. Room for zumba. Tons of classes available
Great staff, clean facilities, and options like crazy.
Small and packed, people at the front are so nice
Very nice gym. The trainers are great and so is the staff.
Honestly I qas visitint, but dang if this gym isnt crowded and features some old equipment. The staff was super nice in all honesty...
Been going there to work out for few months.
Staff is really young and immature and manager is definitely not the friendliest guy, but aside from that, it is a bright, clean facility with lots of equipment and the people who work out there are great...nice atmosphere. They have racquetball and a pool and hot tub, which is very nice. I originally joined for the fitness classes, but after joining I saw that most of them are Zumba, which I HATE, so I never attend. I wish they would get current classes like more step or Body Pump or other Les Mils classes, but apparently Zumba is pretty much all they know. I do not do the cycling classes, but they have a nice big room for that and the classes are always full. If they got better classes, I would give them a 5-star rating.
This place is very Convenient distance wise from my house, But unfortunately the front desk is very obnoxious especially the girl who always tie her hair up, Every time i check in when shes there she looks at me dead in my eyes and when i say hi she keeps looking at me and dont even say a ward, So today she checked me in and i said thank you and shes got a bad attitude like usual so I had to write this review .Management do something about this please.I personally think she shouldnt be working in customer service, learn some manners lady, I work in customer service and this is not acceptable, acknowledge your customers with a smile or get out of the business, she wouldnt be working for me not even a day with this attitude if i was in that business .
Live in Leesburg, work in Manassas. Driving early lets me miss traffic and get a good workout in an especially well maintained and clean LA fitness before I start my workday. Good equipment. Nice people.
Not too bad for the price. Its actually clean
The facility is good for normal gymming. The swimming pool experience was horrible. My eyes were burning after my swim... Asked the pool guide for some advice and whether the chlorine content was too high...didnt respond too enthusiasticly. Would be great if customer service was improved.
Great gym!
Great staff, great equipment/gym, great pool and studio room! Overall favorite gym to work out in the nova area.
