I gave them my car and stated my problem.. they took the car and charged me $25 for inspection without even driving the car.. then asked me to pay $1000 to change struts .. and they didn’t even try the car after they done.. same day i started to see the same issue again … and it turned out they changed the struts instead of the axis.. terrible service and will never recommend it to anyone who want to safely drive their car.. also the store manager is never there.. and they told me to go to them help fix the problem and when i showed up they apologized .. i almost paid $150 uber drives back and forth leaving the car for them.. to stressful and for nothing… 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Had a really awesome experience! The two gentleman that I interacted with most, were very friendly and knowledgeable. Had an oil change and tire rotation done and although they were very busy I wasnt waiting very long. Exceptional work overall!! Thank you and I will be returning!

The staff was extremely helpful. I live in Birmingham so 2 hours away from anyone I know and my tire had 2 nails in it. They got the truck right in the shop. When they realized they couldnt fix the tire and had none in stock of the kind on my vehicle the manager sent one of the guys to another store 45 minutes away (one way) so we could drive home... thank you guys for the great service. And I want you to know that you are most definitely appreciated for going above and beyond for us. Thank you.

Disappointed…was told it would be done a while later, after I scheduled an appointment @8am, like appointments weren’t priority anymore. They also stated they’d call me back when finished, but never received a call and just decided to stop by the next evening to find out. I dropped my car off for an oil change and tire rotation, but noticed that my tires weren’t rotated, nor did it start.

Would have given worse but 1 star it is. Went for starter came out with a bad new starter and everything else wrong. I would not recommend this place to no one. If you have a choice choose someone who is qualified to work on your vehicle.

I have been coming to this Pep Boys since moving to Madison. I am picky when it comes to people working on my vehicles.These guys are on top of the work they do. Very friendly and take pride in the work they perform. No issues ever with the work preformed. I can assure you that if you need great quality work done you cant go wrong with these guys.

Here is a long story but I highly suggest reading it if you are doing business with this Pep Boys….Nick at the front desk is super nice, however I don’t think the mechanic knows what they are doing. I’m not sure if it was due to miscommunication or what but I brought my Silverado truck in for a diagnosis on a stalling issue I’m having. Engine lights would not stay on after the stalling occurred but I know that these codes should have been stored into my ECM…I told them multiple times it’s related to my 4wd system because that light kept coming on during my stalls. They never looked into it. Well they decided to replace all my spark plugs and do an engine tune up..costing around $300…I got my truck back and drove up the road to find it stalling AGAIN. Took it back and told them again that my service 4wd light flashed at me and it’s stalling again. They told me they were super busy that morning but yet called me 30 minutes after leaving saying it’s my fuel pump..jump to conclusion?? Well that’s about another $1000 repair with labor and all.I drove out of the shop with a new fuel pump and engine tune up and boom…my truck stalls for a third time after leaving this store “fixed”. I just feel like we were playing the guessing game and I was running out of money. This time my truck wouldn’t start back up..I waited around and paid for a tow back to the store…my truck then sat there for two business days without any updates as to what’s going on. I called them multiple times during this two day period and all they could say is that they couldn’t reproduce the issue again and it’s running great. So I went and picked up my truck…at no cost this time THANK GOD.Well, it stalled again, even after their “test drives” at pep boys…which I knew it would. I took it to advanced auto across the street..got my computer read for codes..saw a 4wd transfer case module code..realized my 4wd wasn’t engaging so thought that was weird. Got under the truck and realized I had a loose ground wire on my transfer case module…re-ran the wire and tapped a new ground bolt in…no more issues.I just find it crazy that a mechanic couldn’t pull these codes up and pick at each individual code to find the issue..it took me less than an hour to find that wire and fix my issue…

I stopped today to ask if I could use their air pump because I had low tire warning light on. At the counter, they told me to pull up to the bay and he would have one of the tech to check it out. They took care of me and was on my way just a few minutes later. Thank you for your time and kindness. Will be back again.

Excellent service reasonably priced

The guys at this pep boys location has did great work on my truck. I got more work for them to do in the near future. My only complaint is when I call for a service quote on the phone. They told me it would be 350 dollars for parts and labor. They then called me back and said it would be 680 plus tax, because they thought I said it was a Yukon and not a Yukon XL. That kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Very professional and courteous. Have dealt with them on several vehicles. Bought tires here, had alignments done, oil changes, and brakes serviced. Never had a problem here and recommend them whenever I get a chance to.

Service was fine but they said it would take an hour an we waited 2. My normal service place typically takes 15-20 minutes and charges $20 less than pepboys.

Took car in for running rough. Found an air intake was disconnected throwing a bank one code. You get a star for fixing that. Then said I needed a new transmission or a rebuild on a 2007 altima. Said it would cost $8000. Yes... $8000 for a rebuild ( I have the estimate). Dude seriously asked if I wanted them to do the work, and didnt think the estimate was crazy at all. They based this diagnosis on an engine over speed code. Took it to a transmission shop. Didnt need any more work done at all. Cleared the codes at transmission shop and car runs great.they quoted me $4500 if it needed a brand new transmission too... Not a rebuild.

This place did an excellent job on replacing my radiator in my Jeep in a timely manner. Very nice and professional staff. Thank you Jeremy! They did exactly what they said would be done. I was able to pickup my vehicle when they completed it and hopped back on the road to Chicago.

Very disappointed! Had a tire going flat on my truck. Thankfully pepboys was within a few miles. Manager stayed on phone for a good 10 minutes like I wasnt there... finally ask if I needed anything. Then told me I would have to wait 1-2 hours. Didnt even offer to give me air or anything. Just complain how short handed they were. Well no more road hazard purchasing for me. Looking for a new tire dealership!

I brought my vehicle in for a set of new tires with the lifetime alignment and left needing a new strut and control arm shaft and bushing. I did not have that issue before I brought it into them, but there was noticeable damage to the strut and control arm when I received my car back and drove off from there. I now have a $1500+ repair to pay for. In my opinion, they purposefully damaged my vehicle and are trying to take advantage of a woman.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Do not go here. They charged my $79 for an oil change when they quoted me 29.99. Need your tires rotated? $500. Need your AC “fixed” only to discover on the drive home it’s still blowing hot? $600. This place took advantage of me & I had no leg to stand on. I mean, you have to pay the bill to get your car back... So I couldn’t exactly refuse. I never write reviews but I’m writing this in hopes it helps someone avoid this place and find an honest, ethics mechanic. Yet another mechanic taking advantage of WOMEN.

Brought my to them for brake service. First they told me it would be $129 to look at my brakes. Reluctantly agreed to pay this fee. The next day, different person, told me there was no such charge and they could fix brakes for about $400. The next day called to make sure car was ready and was told it would cost over $1000 to fix brakes. They never called me, I just got a different story each time I called. Finally headed over to take the car somewhere else. Will never take another vehicle to them!

Called for a trailer tire, website states Carlisle tire for 73.00. Left me on hold for 11 minutes, had to call back, guy was less than happy with me. Gave me a price for the only tire they had in stock at 181.00. Predatory! Glad to know that I cant do business with them before they hooked me. Just stopped by today for a simple tire swap, to have my rims taken off and my factory wheels put back on and these guys provide awesome service. I felt like I have been coming here for a while. I work in fast food right down the street so I know what it feels like to be treated right and Ill definitely bring more service their way. Thank you!!

Dont go here they will ruin your car!!!8/7/2017I went in for an oil change and they accidentally drained the transmission fluid.They didnt admit to it they waited for me to get into the car and realize the transmission wouldnt work.When I told him about the problem they acted like they didnt know anything and nothing was wrong. After complaining a second time Bryan the manager agreed to do a free transmission flush as a courtesy.Later he called me back to tell me that the transmission flush was successful in my vehicle was now working. Unfortunately in the process of the transmission flush he accidentally drained all my differential fluid and had to replace it.After they had a resolve their incompetent work and I picked up the vehicle they refused to add any of this information to the pep boys report.Instead it was hand written.Upon calling Pep Boys corporate to complain I was on hold for 10 minutes and had to leave a voice message

Called and spoke with Jeremy regarding tires for my Ram. He gave me some choices and his recommendations and gave a full pricing breakdown on the tires I selected. I drove there and was greeted as soon as I walked in. Jeremy shook my hand and got my info. My truck was in the bay not long after my arrival and service began. The whole time I was there, Jeremy and his staff answered my questions and just carried on conversation while I waited, I felt welcomed by all of the staff and everyone was very friendly. After my tires were on and the alignment was complete, Jeremy once again covered the work that was done and shook my hand. As I was leaving, the technicians told me to have a good evening and I thanked them for taking care of my truck. I would highly recommend this Pep Boys location. Jeremy and his staff are top notch and their prices were lower than several of the other tire shops I spoke with.

Poor experience at this store today. I had a 3pm appointment, and the nail in my tire was not able to be addressed.Arriving at the store, I waited several minutes, because no one was at the front (he was visibly assisting another lady outside)....he rushed in and barely let me speak. Saying that he didnt have time to fix my car. His guy went on a late lunch. I tried to say....I made an appointment, and that I had a nail...he didnt seem to care. All of this was communicated when I made my appointment the day before. I was barely offered and opportunity to reschedule. (But why would I reschedule...when potentially I would face the same situation)I was treated poorly. And this Automotive Service facility did not care that I was driving off with a nail in my tire.I will never return to any of their stores.

Chase is a scam artist, overcharge for simple repairs on vulnerable people. Costed more to pay the hourly rate than the parts. Sad. Rude staff. If you bring your car here install a camera to see all the work they dont do.

Such an awful place. Took my car in because it was shaking very badly while driving during a 18 hour road trip. Stan told me the tires were out of balance and needed balanced which would help get rid of the shaking, so i said okay do it. after waiting an hour i pay and leave just to find out the shaking isn’t any better and they didn’t EVEN TEST DRIVE MY CAR. Called back and stan said “we don’t test drive cars” & “the machine said the tires were off balance so we balanced them”. How are you supposed to know if you fixed the issue without test driving it?! So horrible & unprofessional. Another mechanic taking advantage of a young women.

I like pep boys. Weve had several things done at several different locations. Never a bad experience. This was no different. Just needed my tires rebalanced. Good price and as long as you make an appointment, they get you in and out.

The service itself was good, there was a bit of a wait but the customer service could have been better. The woman who rung me up was very rude and Unpleasant.

Ive been to this location 3 times in the last 10 months for my oil changes. Made an appointment online each time. When you make an appointment, they ask you specific questions about what services you need performed at the time of your visit. EVERY time, i added that I wanted to take advantage of the free tire rotation that they offer with the oil change. One of my tires has a specific marking on the outside of it. I remembered it was on the front passenger. A week after I had my last oil change there, I noticed that same tire was still in the same place it had been. So then I wondered if they ever rotated them AT ALL during my previous visits as well. Now because they were never rotated properly, theyre not balanced properly. These tires were brand new when I bought my car in March of 2017 and have only put 20k miles on them since i bought it. This has now caused me to have to buy 4 brand new tires because they couldnt follow basic instructions on a service they offer to you FOR FREE with the purchase of an oil change. Guess you get what you pay for.

3 hours to put on 4 tires

I had an appointment and they told me they were behind. It happens, I get it. What I do not get is the fact I told them I would be staying and they called my phone. I waited over an hour and a half before I went up to find them and ask for my estimate. I was told they tried calling me. They called me ONCE and never left a voicemail. You would think with services they would be courteous enough to leave one as they want your money; guess I was wrong.To put the icing on the cake, I was told they do not even have my tires in stock. I went to check my schedule and man at the front desk left momentarily while I we t to check my schedule, that did not improve my mood.I went to the place down the road and instantly got service without waiting and they were able to retrieve my tires in an hour.I will not be returning to Pep Boys ever again. Go to Mavis Discount Tires right down the road. Seems they actually pay attention to their customers and their well-being.

These guys are awesome!! Had a bad battery but I wasnt positive. They got me in quickly... tested...gave me battery options...and knocked out the installation. Great service at a fair price... THANKS PEP BOYS!!!

Ask for Shannon! I happen to notice my front tires were scary. Shannon was recommended by a friend. He told me he would beat any price the other companies gave me. He did. Plus he gave me a discount on top of that! My car was at Joe Hudson for the week. I was going to try to schedule to take my car in for Saturday but Shannon offered to pick it up from Joe Hudson and return it. It saved me an entire Saturday! I gotta say I was thoroughly pleased with the services and savings. Highly recommend!

I have taken my vehicle to many different shops to have my front end assessed for small vibrations and noise. Pepboys hq has been the only place that could actually find the source of the issue and it makes perfect sense they even showed me. Though they dont have the cheapest labor I absolutely understand why because of their level of expertise. They definitely went above and beyond to find this specific issue and narrowed it down to a T. Perfect, they also are working with me to strike deals for future repairs helping me financially the more I have to have repaired. That is amazing and many other places wont do that. 5 stars

Go down Sullivan Street to Express Oil Change! We have been long time Pep Boys customers in several states. We were glad to find a shop when we moved to Madison. The manager at the time kept the shop running smoothly. 8 years, 7 sets of tires, numerous batteries, shocks, brakes, and who knows how many oil changes later, and I wont go back. Management changed a couple of years ago and the place has gone down hill ever since. Today I had a 9 AM appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. At 1015 I walked out because the desk clerk said it would be an hour and a half before they started. Went a mile up Sullivan Street, drove right in, got a discount because of where my husband works, got the oil changed and wrote this review. They will be my new go to place.UPDATE: Pep Boys responded as seen below. I called the phone number (which had 3 menus before I found the choice for customer service as the last choice) and was asked to provide more contact info so they could open a case. I told them to mot contact me again. This was not the first time something like this happened in the past year and each time we were promised the situation would be fixed. Im done. There are too many alternatives to put up with such shoddy management. It makes me wonder about the quality of the work performed.

Had a Sunday morning appointment for an oil change. Being a new AL resident I needed a place that used Mobil 1 as it’s all my car has ever used and synthetic 5w-30 is the best on the market.Great fast service took under an hour. Will recommend for that service. However they quoted me 530 for spark plugs which is a joke so I’ll be using a mechanic in Decatur.Overall a good positive experience and will take my car back for an oil change.Note: be sure to sign up for rewards as it’s $20 off the service

Made an appointment for an oil change online, got a appointment email confirmation, and my car was in the bay right on time. While performing their standard safety inspection, found a potentially dangerous condition with my brakes. They made a point in explaining the pros and cons of repair thoroughly and without pressure. After giving my approval for repair, my car was repaired in 60 minutes. Great prices, great work, warranty, and a great crew. Ive been with this store for years and theyve never disappointed me. As a penny pincher, I enjoy the quarterly discounts they send out to their Rewards members.

Had a nail in tire. They started the repair immediately. Had me out the door in less than an hour. Bill was $12, fantastic service.

Took my car in for a simple vehicle inspection thats required by my work. Was told on the phone the week prior that it would be $15. After the inspection, I was told the car didnt pass because tread was low on two tires (true, no disagreement there) and also that I needed three new windshield wipers. I had replaced all wipers less than a month earlier, so that was just Pep Boys trying to take more money.I was then told it was $33 instead of $15 due to a recent price change. They refused to honor the previously quoted $15. The guy at the counter then charged my card 3 times and said that it declined. I gave him a different card, but stopped him just before he ran it because my credit card app alerted me to two charges of $33, and the card refused the third attempt. I showed the guy my phone, and he said that I would have to bring my credit card statement to him to prove there was a duplicate charge before he could do anything about it. Apparently customers are responsible for Pep Boys mistakes.To top it off, I got in my car and had several caution and warning lights pop up and the car wouldnt start. Its an electric car, and the inspection didnt require any of the electrical components to be checked, but there were greasy finger prints on the charge door. Now I have to take the car to Ford so they can fix whatever Pep Boys screwed up.

Called and asked pricing for 2 tires before coming in. I paid $100 more than the estimate and had a 30% off coupon. They failed to mention the $100 in fees they charge when giving pricing.

I took my 2006 Acura in to have the transmission checked out. They quoted me a price of ~$95.00 to check it out. I said that was fine. 20 min later they called me to counter and told me that there was many error codes in system. And that was the cause of the problems with my transmission. I asked if they even looked at the transmission or even inspected the transmission fluid. They said they didnt need to that the error code device gave them all the info they needed. So needless to say Pep Boys charged me with tax almost $100 to plug in a device that Autozone or other parts stores will do for free. And then wouldnt give me the error codes that I could take to another mechanic. I will NEVER return to Pep Boys for anything again

NOT a place I will do business with again! Had tires shipped there to be installed called to make sure they arrived. The person told me no..havent seen the tires. So I called the company I purchased them thru, they said they were delivered last week. So he called the tire store and they said oh yea we have them. So I call back and talk with someone about having them installed and they said to make a appointment, so I did so for the next day at 10:00. My wife dropped the car off before 10:00. I called at 2:00 that afternoon and the car had not been touched yet!! I asked when it would be done and they stated another hour or so. What good does an appointment do if you have to leave it all day!! Of course the person said well we had people call out of work today. Well thats NOT MY PROBLEM!! Terrible customer service! On top of that the wheels on my car had some type of tire grease they use to mount the tires ALL over the wheels!! This has to be the worse tire store I have ever used!!!

This is my go-to place for getting anything done on my car. The staff is very respectful, the technicians are very knowledgeable, and they get you in and out doing the job right and at a decent price. There have been many times where I have received discounts. I have had my oil changed, exhaust manifolds replaced, and other work done on multiple cars. These folks are great and you need to take your car here for any problems.

Brought my car in because of some rough ride issues and was told I needed new struts and tires for an exorbitant amount of money. Took my car to a different mechanic where I was told there was actually nothing wrong with my struts whatsoever. They gave me an alignment and everything was good as new.

These guys are great. There was a problem with my Land Rover and they did not stop until it was fixed properly, warranty finally their work that they always stand behind. They get all my car repair business.

Good location to get your car fixed. I found that the mechanics were honest and helpful.I did find that in cases you can get repairs done cheaper with the dealer than Pep Boys... Its really a case by case thing.

They told my wife she needed 4 new struts and 2 new control arms, for a whopping $4000!! I took it to a mechanic I trust (DK Automotive) and he told me all of those items were perfectly fine. Buyer beware.

Took my car in this weekend for break work and oil change. They quoted $911 for rotors tires and miscellaneous equipment. I thought this was high and some was unnecessary. I took it to Breaks for Less. They said my tires were fine and the other work only cost me $400.18. I saved over $500 by getting a second opinion and not using Pep Boys.

The staff went out of their way to help me.....especially Tom the assistant manager. Ill definitely be back and I highly recommend this shop.

Im going to use two words that are rarely used in the same sentence.Honest and fair mechanic. What would you do to find an auto repair shop that did great work, matched competitors pricest, finished on time and everyone treated you with respect. Sound impossible? Go to Pep Boys on Madison BLVD/Wall Trianna. Cody runs the admin shop and Shannon is the general manager. I recently had a fairly large project done at Pep Boys. very shortly after they returned car to me, I noticed some pretty serious issues had arisen that werent there before. I brought the car back and explained what what happening. Within 3 hours, Cody called me on my cell and explained that while putting the car together from the original repair, certain pieces may have been put on incorrectly or not to correct specifications. Because of this oversight there was some additional damage that had been done to the car. I was listening half happy that they could fix it and scared to death what it was going to cost me. Cody assured me that the extra damage was a direct result of their oversight and they would be responsible for the repairs.Within two days, Pep Boys finished my car, no cost to me, and the car is running sooooo much better than I could have imagined. Im 48, Ive had a few of cars around the 10 year old mark, and Ive had to take them many places to get fixed.Pep Boys in Madison has won my loyalty and they should have yours too.Ive told all my coworkers about my experience and I believe that some of them will definitely be visiting the shopIf senior management sees these reviews, they need to recognize the team they have at the Madison store.

The guy took my car in the back fixed it and left for the day without telling me I had to come ask for him. Then the guys at the front desk was so busy talking to another customer that they just ignored me until I spoke up.

Dropped my car off for oil change and it was completed quicker than I expected.

Excellent place for routine and non-routine automobile services. People there are very competent, knowledgeable, and friendly!

Choose another place for services. This location tried to upcharge a 16 year old to the tune of $150. Then, they went for a lesser upcharge of over $15. The young man said no and was asked if he was sure. He said yes, that he was sure - just the oil change. The service was added anyway. He did not know what else to do, other than pay the $42 bill. Never again. Pep Boys just lost a great revenue stream and a great source of referrals as we have several drivers in this family.

They use cheap parts and their mechanics are incompetent. Im being hospitable by giving them 1star
