Great rental car company employee, and great guy I now consider a friend. If its in his ability to help you out, he will certainly do so. My go to for car rental needs .

I have been calling since office since a little before 9am to confirm my pick-up for the repair shop with no answer. I had to text the main number and they stated they were calling immediately. I still have not heard anything and I had to change my vehicle drop off time. I do not recommend this location. Im going to call my insurance company and have them switch over to Enterprise.

Your drivers in the big van are unprofessional and horrible drivers. They almost hit me with my 9 month old son and dog in the car because they wanted to be speed racers and couldnt wait 2 seconds for me to turn into my driveway.

We rented and payed for the car in advance. Was told to be here at 12pm today. No one here. No one answering the phone numbers. This is an incredibly disappointing situation. I have a long trip I should already be on. Customer service is a farce. I would weigh your options carefully.

Rented cargo van ( due to rain possibility) to move sons belongings to where he is stationed. Made all travel arrangements for the stay. Was called 23 hours before reservation to be told they could not accommodate.Called corporate office and no help. We can cancel and return funds in 7 to 10 business days is what was told.Trying to find a replacement in less than 24 hours notice...impossibleThanks Hertz.. Be careful

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! 5 STARS !!! The location always seems very busy but the customer service IS NOT lacking. I rented through State Farm and Hertz made my process an absolute breeze! Check in and check out took only minutes. Everyone is smiling, friendly and eager to help including maintenance staff. Would definitely return for other rental needs!

Hertz Macon Ga is a joke. I only gave it one star because a tenth of a star was not an option and the tenth is only because they were open for business. I made reservations for a vehicle online four days ago. I received a call the day before pickup that all premium vehicles were rented but she would have a full size vehicle available for me. I arrive to pickup vehicle and Hertz agent was assisting two customers and tried to assist me while helping them. Conversation was everywhere. Then it went to a I told you I wouldn’t have a premium vehicle. I said yes but you said you would have a full size so what do you have. She said she the only vehicle she has is a Corolla. Very unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone to do business at this location. I’m waiting to hear from Brett Horton the Branch Manager.

The definition of RESERVATION-an arrangement whereby something, is booked or reserved for a particular person. Very angry and very bad experience with this certain Hertz in Macon, Ga. Never will I return to rent a car or so call make a RESERVATION in which they say they can not look that far ahead to see who has a reservation which is BULL! I made a reservation a week before because I knew spring break was here. The day came to get my car for a very important trip in which I needed to be at a certain place at a certain time, They called 30 min prior to me getting my so called RESERVED car and said they did not have a car. They didn’t even offer for a car later. I am a small business owner and there is definitely no customer service satisfaction here. I may even write the CEO in Florida about my experience. I would never recommend anyone to this location. No I’m sorry response needed because I definitely will not accept it, there is definitely no excuse for the experience that I had!!!!!!

I was supposed to pick up the car at 12 I called before going and was told they didnt have a car for me. So I couldnt take my trip. I was given a confirmation number. I was told they would call me when they get a car. I should have read all the reviews and saved myself the headache.

This is the absolute worst Hertz Ive ever tried to do business with. My insurance booked the rental without a problem and this Hertz and I even set a time for them to pick me up from the collision center. They never picked me up. I called 14 times and never got a response. Therefore, you should never go to this location because youll never get in contact with a customer service representative.

The reviews on here are the truth. Stay away. Staff is irritated prior to dealing with you and does not pick up the phones. They wont accept my Mastercard and visa for a deposit for a rental car that the insurance company is paying for. They told me that in order to rent a car from them I need to go downtown and open up a bank account in a bank that they prefer working with so I can pay a $50 deposit to rent a car. Impossible to work with. Go somewhere else if you can.

I would NEVER recommend renting from Hertz and especially not from this location. I rented in New York and was dropping off in Macon GA. I showed up at this location as instructed to drop my rental off and was greeted by a sign that told me I needed to drive to a location and hour away, which would be a total of 3 hours driving to get back home. The parking lot was filled with angry customers trying to pick up or drop off. Customer service was a joke. I was hung up on, disconnected and out on hold for an hour to be told I needed to drive to Atlanta to drop my rental off. When I told customer service I already waisted enough time there and couldn’t wait another second they put me on hold with roadside assistance for 40 mins to speak to someone who had no idea what was going on. The worst part about this is the office closed on the 30th and I dropped off the 2nd... in three days no one from this office could call and let people know?!? You couldn’t send one manager out to collect drop off keys and deal with angry customers?!?! Hertz NEVER get another penny from me, I’m so disappointed with this company and how they handled the situation.

If I could give them a negative 10, I would! Dont rent through hertz, period!!! We confirmed 2 weeks ago, came to pick up our car and the location was closed. No notice, nothing! Called customer service and they were worthless!! Bottom line, if you have to rent a car, never rent from hertz because you probably wont get your car!!

I never received a call back regarding rental. The next day I called At 830am and was told they had one vehicle. I specifically ask what time vehicle will be ready and was told it was ready now. Get there at 9am and vehicle was not ready. Waited for over an hour. I don’t recommend at all. Corporate office tell customers one thing and local office there is something totally different ... no cars

Waste of time ..... went to pick up my rental they asked for my (unsecured credit card). After the lady couldn’t get it to process she called the manger over. He looked like he wasn’t sure what to do either. I was thinking maybe they need retraining on how to do their job properly.

This is not the best place to rent a vehicle. I was one week into my 20 day rental and started receiving calls multiple times a day telling me my rental was severely overdue. I called the company 4 times and was asked for my name/number but never received a call back. Finally dropped my rental off once my car was done in the shop which ended up being before my 20 days were up. The following week I was charged more money. Called and once again was asked to leave my name/number but I refused because they never call back so I ended up on hold for almost 30mins before someone decided to pick up the phone. I will definitely never recommend or rent from them again.

Have been trying to get in touch with someone from that location to set up a drop off of a vehicle that belonged to Thrifty Rental (I guess they went bankrupt and no one reached out)... no answer no call back etc. Everyone doesnt have an immediate ride in these times... to leave work and ask others to do the same.A call back would have been greatly appreciated as the Macons location phone keeps ringing with no phone tree or voicemail.

Made a reservation 3 days out from pickup and they called at the last minute the days before to say hey couldnt honor the reservation, nor could offer a replacement vehicle.Bad business and service. This place is a joke.I wish I could rate it a zero.A reservation was made by my son who didnt have a major credit card but my mother who was going on the trip had one so the reservation was changed to her name but she was told by a rude worker she couldnt do a same day reservation.She filled a reservation to pickup the van the next day. We arrived about 845 and was told the van was reserved for someone else because she was 45 minutes late.This was addressed by the manager,he didnt understand why we was given the wrong information. They did not tell she had to pickup at 8am.If she knew that she would have.We went down the street to Enterprise and received excellent same day rental, consumer service and 70 plus dollars cheaper deal.Never again

Had an 8am appointment to pickup a State Farm insured accident rental. Two people ahead of me. No cars were ready. All three cars had to be cleaned and processed. I didnt get my car until 1015. Lady working counter was nice and efficient. They need to let you exactly when the car will ready when you call. Never had it take this long anywhere else.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do yourself a favor and go to enterprise. I had an 8:30 am appointment to pick up a car. It’s been over an hour and I’m still waiting. I asked how much longer. The lady said that they don’t have anymore cars ready and she doesn’t know how much longer it will be! I called three days prior to my appointment to make sure they would have a car ready to be picked up. And they told my yes. If I was going to have a car ready at my scheduled pickup time who have I been waiting over an hour?!

If I could give me negative stars I would. I was given a 2020 Kia Sorrento that was literally disgusting inside. It had sticky places and dead roaches!! I went to put my sunglasses in the sunglasses holder and a dead roach was in there. They are slow and are trying to charge me because there was mud on the car. I tried 3 times during the duration of having this POS and no one would even answer. DO NOT USE THEM!

Brought my dil to return her car to pick up her fixed car, returned after her own car was still not fixed. 1 hr later was told that she had to do a new deposit and they didnt have a suv even though is what she just turned in and it was sitting in the same spot and not touched. Also when the ins co called to extend the rental he forwarded the call and walked out to deal with someone else. Rude service, not willing to help at all, avoids do job that needs to be done.

This company and its employees are so UNPROFESSIONAL at this location.I have an insurance claim and they are telling me to wait for a return, but every vehicle that is returned is given away to a new customer! This was by far the WORST rental experience i have ever had! This location is a joke...they are very unprofessional and have no concern for their customers. IF YOU NEED TO RENT A CAR IN MACON RENT IT HERE!!! The service was fast and friendly I got a great price on a Kia Sorrento for three days ($158 & that included insurance). The lady that helped me was so sweet (she has brown skin & short hair). Make sure you reserve a car ahead of time because it may be a bit of a wait if you dont. Also they put a $200 hold on your card once you pick up the rental & take it off once you drop off the car. Ive rented from our places in Macon & it has honestly taken them more than a month to put the deposit back on my card. Ill definitely rent from Hertz again.

Had an appointment set up with hertz to have them pick me up from the collision center after I dropped off my car and also was suppose to get a rental from them. They didn’t pick me up and hertz was closed despite it saying online that it’d be open until 530 and despite the fact that I had an appointment set up for this date. Now I am left without a car. Ridiculous. I’ll do my very best to make sure no one I’m associated with ever uses this place.

This place is terrible. They screwed me out of the reservation the insurance company made for me, telling me I was only approved for a compact car, when in fact, I was approved for a bigger vehicle. Now I cannot fit my family in this thing.Received the car with no gas in it as well, but the rental paper says full. Had to fill it up before I could even drive it home.Customer service sucked. They were late picking me up, no one even so much as smiled. WOULD not recommend to anyone. AVOID THIS PLACE

Location had no idea how to use a Hertz issued customer service certificate. Stood at the counter for 45 minutes while she tried to locate and apply the discount. In the end she said she can apply it to the rental rate and not the total price. I told her that’s not anywhere in the terms and conditions. She just shrugged and told me to let her know if I still want to rent the car and attended another customer who approached the counter. I called customer service and was on the phone with them for 15-20 minutes until they verified it can apply to the total price. By this time the location closed and I couldn’t rent the car. Once in a great while, you do business with a company that has, previously, been a valuable part of your business and they let you down. I have had a really good, long term, relationship with Hertz. Slowly, some of that business has been shifting to Lyft and Uber. So, when this Hertz location could not honor my reservation and had no car at the time I reserved AND had me at the end of a 28 person waiting list, I took Lyft for a 2 hour ride to Atlanta. Guess what, it was cheaper and I did not have replace the gas, I am not tired from driving and I got a lot of work done. While this Hertz location can not differentiate between an excavation in the earth and rectal anatomy, Lyft saved the day. My suggestion is to sell Hertz stock and buy Lyft.

Brandon, (management trainee), outright lied and charged me over $400.00 AFTER I left the office. We rented a car from this company, returned the car on time and A MONTH LATER, they charged our card for the rental.Seriously....its the 21th Century, theres Internet. So this company decides to process things like they are in the 18th Century or something.Charging people a month later is retarded plus not telling them what or why your company does it is even more retarded. People have other things to do with their money than wait for a slow-ass company to get it.This ruined the whole great experience for me and my husband.

Absolutely terrible service. Hertz has a system issue that allows you to make reservations for cars even if they do not have the cars available. I was suspicious of this and attempted several times to call this location and ask if they had vehicles available but their phone line is consistently busy or disconnected. When I arrived to pick up my rental vehicle at the time the website told me to pick it up, the sales clerk told me he didnt have any vehicles available and wasnt sure when one would become available. I inquired as to why the system would allow this and why their phone wasnt working. He just picked up the phone and hung it up a few times with a hmm response. Dont use Hertz, especially not this one!

The price quoted when reservations are made, is NOT the actual price. They only have pick up service if you are 5 miles or less from thier location. And it took one hour off calling, for an employee to answer the phone. Not a very great place to do business with.

Ive been to this location twice now, once for my friend who was visiting from California, and another for myself. Both times the wait has been ridiculous as theres only one person from hertz there to help everyone. Today I went for the 4th of July weekend and they told me that unfortunately they dont have any cars. Apparently their awesome website (and I mean that in the most sarcastic way possible) allows people to book reservations even though they dont actually have anything available. So Ill be sticking with Enterprise from now on which, by the way, told me ahead of time they were out of cars. ***Please note this rating is moreso on this specific location rather than the representative. The one man guy who works there I believe does everything he can to help everyone. Unfortunately hes just not enough to make me want to continue any future business with Hertz.

Worst customer service - Waited about 20 minutes to get attended while two workers were chatting in front of me whole time. Car that I picked was not even clean and had distance to empty at 36 miles(so no gas basically). Nobody answered my call( during their business hours) when I needed their help, eventually had to call Hertz customer care directly to change my drop off location. Never coming back!!!!

Had a reservation one week to prior pickup of the vehicle. Show up and there was a fire next to their business that made them shut down. Asked about vehicle they told me basically without care go drive to other one 100 and something miles away to pick up one.I understand things happen but why didnt someone reach out to us and tell us? Other business 100 miles away couldve called since you want to send me there! We where in the system after all was said and done I never go back to this place again. Enterprise has my business from here on out and they got me going same day quick and easy with a smile on their face! AVOID HERTZ!
