Just towed in from Lubbock transmission out. The shop in Lubbock was over 4k I think Nick can do if for much less even with the $600 something tow charge.

These guys are great! I will never take my truck back to the dealership that sold me my truck. That dealership charged me $150 for them to be completely wrong. Nicks Automotive will be my go to for mechanic work.

I neverrrrr write reviews but I am in complete awe of the level of care from the mechanics at Nick’s. I was driving through town and ended up in an accident. Nick’s was the only place willing to see me, even with their busy schedule. They did not try to sell me unnecessary services/parts. It’s clear they value their customers, which in my experiences is SO rare. If I was local, they would definitely be my go-to! Jarib & Avery worked with me personally, but all of the mechanics were friendly and professional!

My daughter was travelling alone from Austin to Colorado when she encounter a minor issue she needed checked out. Not knowing Lubbock she chose Nicks from reviews she read. Thought the shop was packed, she was immediately seen and after a thorough check under the hood, was assured there was no known issue, and was not charged anything. What a comfort to this father, that Nicks took such care of my daughter, who arrived safely home later that day. Thank you, Nicks!

Left my car there for almost 5 days and they werent able to fix anything.There was a squeaking in my back right wheel that probably was some sort of bushing. At the end of day 5, because they couldnt substantiate enough of a claim for my extended warranty, I asked them if they could coat in grease the bushings to which they said youll have to do that yourself. THEN WHAT ARE YOU EVEN HERE FOR. YOURE TELLING ME I WAS LANDLOCKED IN MY HOME FOR 5 DAYS AND NOW HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT! There is a reason I brought my vehicle to you, and that is because I lack the necessary tools and knowledge. Apparently so do you.They kept waiting for me to call first before they would update me on any information on the car. This business could have called me earlier on the last day to tell me there was nothing they could do, but nope. They dont care.

Most reputable and fair priced shop in Lubbock by far. Prior to coming to Nicks I brought my Nissan Versa in to my regular shop I frequent for maintenance to get a front brake job done, which turned out needed the front rotors and one wheel bearing replaced (which was genuine, i work as a delivery driver full time and put a lot of wear and tear on my car). The other shop quoted me nearly $1200, and despite having brought it in at 9 am had told me they probably wouldnt be able to finish until tomorrow. I immediately cancelled the repairI brought it to Nicks having bought the parts at 2:30 pm, and they charged a meager 275$ which is impressive being the bearing is a push-in. Saved nearly 600$ and they took a fraction of the time the previous shop estimated. These guys are legit, highly recommend them.

I asked about a transmission flush, they said they wont touch it because the mileage is so much, theres a risk of it not starting again. Needless to say, I really appreciate his honesty! Two thumbs up!

*****UPDATE 06/12/17*********The water pump they installed that is under warranty busted. They agreed it would just be the cost of labor to have it fixed. Thirty minutes later they called back saying it wasnt just the pump but also a timing gasket that would cost almost $500 to fix. Its amazing how Nicks replaced the water pump and a month later my radiator needs to be replaced by another garage since Nicks refused to fix it. Now their water pump busts and now the timing gasket needs to be replaced even though that piece should have been replaced when they replaced the water pump the first time. Its amazing how I have never had a problem with my truck until Nicks touched it. I will save my money for a mechanic I trust and ride a bike to work.DO NOT GET YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just spent over $300 to have a water pump repaired and now a month later my truck has lost all of the antifreeze. I called them and asked of they would look at it since they took everything apart to replace the pump. They said only the pump would be under warranty but it would cost more to fix. So instead of seeing if one of their employees didnt tighten a clamp or something small and easily fixed they are ready to start finding things to charge me for.

Best place in town! I tell everyone to go there. They are always fast, friendly, and fair. I had a rusted relay on my battery. I took it to the dealership and the said it would need an entire new housing, it would take a week, and for $400. I took it to Nicks, and the simply swapped out the relay itself and I was out the door in 10 min for $20. Its the only place I go.

My son was in Lubbock for the weekend and after getting gas to head back to Austin Monday morning his 2012 Mazda 3 wouldn’t start. An acquaintance suggested we have it towed to Nick’s to have it fixed. First Nick’s said they would be able to get him in and out quickly but by the end of the day Monday they had not gotten to it. By the end of the day Tuesday they had only ordered a battery. They also said his battery cable was corroded and they would repair that. He finally got the car back Wednesday morning and $195 later was able to get home. Fast forward to Friday (48 hours la) and he car wouldn’t start again. Luckily this happened at home and I was able to check it out myself. Well, first the positive connector was covered with corrosion (2 days later?!?) and was also loose. I tried to tighten it but it wouldn’t tighten and the clamp screw actually broke. So after buying a new terminal connector at O’Reilly’s for $7 and putting it on myself, the car still wouldn’t start. This is because the “repair” they did apparently involved cutting the cable running from the starter to the battery, presumably to cut out the corroded part, but the repair was a very poor, ineffective crimp job covered by electrician’s tape! When I replaced the terminal connector the cable came out of the crimp job completely and that’s how I discovered what they had done to “repair” it!! I’ve never felt so taken advantage of by a mechanic as what happened at Nick’s Automotive and now I’m also questioning whether there was ever anything wrong with the battery in the first place! $195 snow job!I’ll never take a car back to Nick’s Automotive and certainly won’t recommend them given the time they took after promising quick turnaround and the poor work they did along with a very strongly suspected unnecessary battery replacement. I now have the car at my trusted mechanic in Austin so that the battery cable can be properly replaced instead of poorly “repaired”.Very disappointed!!! Zero stars if I could.

Extremely nice staff, they were packed but I walked right in and they got a mechanic right with me to diagnose / test drive my vehicle(for free). They told me what was wrong and nothing extra. Would recommend this place if you need a mechanic.

Nicks is our familys go-to for auto repair. Were now on 3 generations using them for repairs. Recently they replaced an alternator on one of our cars, which shorted out about 3 weeks later. They got the car in almost immediately and replaced the faulty part quickly with no extra cost to us. Highly recommend them!

These guys are the best Ive ever seen. They were supposed to close at 6pm but they fixed my car and waited for me until 7pm on the evening before Thanksgiving. They truely care about their customers. They also have excellent skills and charge pretty fair price. They earned all my future business in Lubbock.

I broke down in Lubbock. Nicks automotive did everything they could to get me back on the road. They were super friendly and reasonable on the pricing. I had to stay overnight and their mechanic gave me a lift to and from the hotel. Thank to Mario for his outstanding service. He really took the time to figure out what was wrong with my van. The guys are very friendly & thorough. 2 other shops prior to nicks had gave me the run around! Im 100% satisfied & prices were cheaper as well! I was charged double what the parts cost after i got my bill i called auto zone for thier prices auto zone prices $93 nicks $187 next part auto zone prices $24 nicks prices $59. Also charged over $100 in labor to put on a hose. Ill be looking else where next time i need a mechanic i recommend you do the same.

Nicks automotive was awesome, my car broke down and I had to get it towed. I towed through nicks and they simply added it on to the total instead of charging me right away. I towed my car to them yesterday. They knew what the problem was a few hours after I towed it to them. (the timing belt & some other stuff) and by 8 am they already called me and explained to me the issues and that the car was fixed! They charged a fair price, even with the tow included I paid less than what I paid at the dealership a few months earlier.Now my car is driving fine and I have peace of mind! Nicks is definitely the place to go. Close too, just off 34th and Indiana. I recommend this place to any confused college student like myself who doesnt know much about cars. They explain everything great and Avery at the front is super informative and helpful! So glad I chose this place!

These guys are great. I wouldnt use anyone else in town. Ive taken all my vehicles here when I cant figure out/do the repair myself and theyve done am excellent job each time. Nicks is one of the only places in town that doesnt charge a diagnostic fee and they always are up front with what needs to be done and what it will cost. Ive rarely had a repair take longer then a day here. Theres a reason there parking lot is always full of vehicles. These guys do a great job and take care of their customers!

Nick Nick Nick! Ive been telling any and everyone I know to go here. You should too. Nick has always been honest upfront and even when I just needed to know what was wrong with a few of my trucks so that I could fix it myself. Not only would he tell me what was wrong for free, he would even give me advice on how to fix my problem. 8. I could call him and ask questions back when he was the only person who would answer the phone and he didnt mind answering my questions. He could have charged me for advice or his time diagnosing the problems but he didnt. When my old mechanic or my acquaintances mechanics would quote a price, Nicks is always cheaper. Nick has retired now but still drops in from time to time to check up on everyone. Even after his retirement he made sure honest people were in place to carry on. Ex. Frontier dodge quoted me 2k on what they thought was a gasket that they said wasnt cover under my warranty. I took it to Nick and from the get go they said I didnt need a fuel tank. Dropped the tank and found it to be a busted fuel pump. Charged me 800 something bucks. 500 bucks was for the fuel pump that can only be gotten from ran. Changed out a few other things also. To Top it all off, I told them the price before they even started and I still wasnt cheated. Thanks Nick. They do not charge lot fees if you dont have enough to fix it. Trust me! Youve found your new me mechanic right here

I have temporarily traded cars with my dad, and of course as soon as I get his car it starts leaking oil. He just got the oil changed, so we figured it was a bad washer and the drain plug needed to be replaced. I took it to Firestone, and they confirmed our suspicions. They kept my car for roughly 8 hours, got no work done, then suggested they were going to keep my car overnight and charge me $200. I took the car, of course, because replacing a drain plug is not worth $200. So a friend referred me to Nicks. Wow! Talk about a difference. They had it maybe 2 hours and charged me next to nothing. The staff was incredibly friendly, and they didnt treat me like an idiot when I asked them to try and replace the drain plug without letting all of the oil escape (Im a girl, they rarely listen). Thank you, Nicks Automotive!!

My car was overheating so I had the team at Nicks Automotive take a look at it. They told me what was wrong and said they could fix the issue. Two days and $100.00 later, my car was working fine. However, about a month or two later, the same issue arises. Im not sure if they applied a temporary fix or if my car is just damaged beyond repair, but that $100.00 was definitely wasted.Despite this, service was nice and the staff were polite and responsive.

Great place to have work done. Needed to have jeep back to make it too Mich..and brakes ball joints and stabilizer done before trip. All went well till my trans went out nothing to do with them. Fully recommend them for any work they will do. Jump in early he is very busy.

I love going to Nicks Automative because they have fast and friendly service on top of an easy to find location and quality work. Ive come here several times for my automobile needs and leave completely satisfied every time. I wouldnt suggest a better car care shop.

I called 2 days before asking if they could mount a pump for my transfer tank. They said no problem at all. When I showed up to drop the truck off, they were confused at first but said it would be no problem. I dropped it off at 9 am. Hadnt heard anything until I called the next day at 1pm. They just now let me know that they couldnt do it, so I asked if oil change was done and they said no but they will get started on it then. I didnt get called for 4 hours saying it was finally ready. Highly dissatisfied by this level of incompetence. Would never recommend to anyone. Avoid at all cost.

I happened to be at an AutoZone one day, and asked the clerk if they knew of a good mechanic because my car was having some issues. He referred me immediately to Nicks Automotive and said hes the engine guy around here! He was completely right! I had taken my car to two different mechanics before Nick, and neither could figure out what was wrong. Turns out, my engine mount had been installed upside down. Nick actually took the time to talk to me personally, test drive my car, and fit me into his super busy schedule to fix it.The prices were extremely reasonable and the whole crew does work right the first time. I will continue to take my cars to this place. As a young woman, sometimes you feel as if mechanics are trying to trick you and offer you services you dont really need. Nick is a trustworthy, honest guy who isnt afraid to say, You dont need that, thatd be a waste of money.I appreciate Nick and his entire crew! I cannot say enough good things about this place.

While changing a tire by myself the jack failed and crushed my brake, the wait time for all the other repair shops was 2-3 days, Nick said he could take care of it immediately. I was assisted as soon as I walked through the door, he fixed the issue right then and there free of charge, as a broke college student I really appreciated that, cool guy, mom and pop style shop, definitely will bring all business there in the future.

I have been going to Nicks ever since I moved to Lubbock. He is very professional and has fair prices. I have had a water pump, CV shafts, and a number of other problems that have all been fixed quickly.

This place is awesome! As father of a Texas Tech daughter living 300 miles from Lubbock, I knew nothing about reputable auto repair shops in town when her alternator failed. I called all over town and got estimates that seemed outrageously high – twice as high as Nick’s. When I finally connected with Avery at Nick’s, I could tell immediately that he was the guy. But not only did he meet expectations on the repair, he took it upon himself proactively to get warranty credit for the failed alternator. This included calling the repair shop in Sweetwater that had replaced the alternator 18 months prior and falsely claimed that they had already replaced it three times. Avery used his pull with O’Reilly’s and got the credit. Thanks Avery!

Fair and I mean accurately priced, and only tiny knock was about $ 25.00 higher then phone quote assessment without second call to express extra as thought would be the case, but still very reasonable, and not inventing more problems, which is a problem with a lot of other places 4 stars++
