Only place in Lubbock I will take my car to. Mike and his staff is very good at trying to get your car in and out immediately. Wouldnt take my car anywhere else and the customer service is a1! Love everything about that place

They didn’t fix my car 😭they charged me $1400 to change my oil pump and it’s still leaking and when I took it back for them to fix it they just left it sitting for a whole 7days and never even looked, I took my car somewhere else and they said they would of rebuilt my engine for what they charge. Overpriced me for real 😡,

Disgusting work schedule. I had to go there. I left my car om Wednesday. The, on Thursday I called them and they told me that it would be ready by Friday. On Friday, they closed at 4 pm and closed all of the weekend. They ruined my weekend. I never never never return to them for any service and recommend it for anybody. There are some other better auto shop around.

If I could rate this place a zero I would. My car was drivable but wouldnt go above 20 mph I replaced numerous of things over time, was running great just some small issues with the intake. I take it here hoping they can narrow it down. For 1. I drop the car off at 8am as soon as they open and never heard from them, called around closing time for them to tell me they didnt get to my car. Next day they call me and tell me I need a whole new motor it was gonna cost $5,180 for a used one 7,000 for a new one, my timing chain was bad and that it was gonna Cost thousands. Soon as I hear this I pick up my car take it to another mechanic who had it for 8 hours calls me and says its my vvt actuator fixes it and charges me $152. My car has been driving better then ever. I would NOT recommend this place.

Me and fiancé took our 87 Monte Carlo to get worked on. Mike did an amazing job, went out his way for us, & was very knowledgeable on what was neeeded to be done. Highly recommend, will be getting our business for now on.

They have mechanics in this world and parts replacers. I wouldn’t trust this shop for either. Replaced a part on suspension on my son in laws car and didn’t know what else to do. Not mechanic worthy if you ask me. Don’t waste your money here and put your vehicle at risk. Take it to a real shop. Lesson learned.

Yesterday I had to get my car looked at. I took it to Monkey Mikes on 66th and University and they were taking all the right precautions. There were signs everywhere about wearing a mask, hand sanitizer available in the lobby, they had the front desk blocked off to enforce 6 foot distancing even from the employees and the employee wore their mask properly, the entire time. Not only did they have great protocols in place to keep customers safe, but they were great to work with and were very honest and fair. For some unknown reason, a few weeks ago my car wouldnt start, I tried jumping it a couple times and nothing would happen, I had to wait till I had enough money to tow it and when I did I just towed it to the nearest place (monkey mikes). I dont know what happened between when it wouldnt start and today but when they took a look at it, it started right up. I still had them check it over but they said it was working fine and there were no codes. They could have found things to fix and taken advantage of the fact that I dont know anything about cars. As a single mom, its always nerve wrecking to take my car to get fixed, Ive been ripped off a number of times, so I really appreciated that they were so honest, and they absolutely cared about keeping their customers safe. I highly recommend this shop if you are needing any repairs done.

Took vehicle in for front transmission seal repair, they also found an issue with engine oil cooler while inspecting vehicle and notified us. Really happy with our choice to use this facility! Fair prices and honesty! Took care of all the claims with warranty company for us. Will definitely come here again for future repairs needed!

I took my car in at 8 am to have the a/c recharged. At 4:30, I had not heard from them so I called and was told they hadn’t looked at it. At 5:15 I received a call from the mechanic saying “stuff “ came loose in the compressor, I needed a new pressure condenser, the valves were bad, the cabin filter needed to be replaced and then they could add Freon for a mere $1642.33. We picked up my car immediately and paid $50, I presume was for parking on their lot. I called a different mechanic shop and was told to bring it in, leave it overnight and they would look at it the next morning. At 8:30 am they called to say there was a small leak on the high side. They could replace the piece needed and recharge with Freon for $223.00. We picked it up at 2:00 pm that same day. It has worked beautifully since. BEWARE!! I won’t be going to Monkey Mike’s for anything.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I took my vehicle to this auto shop on Tuesday 5/26/20 and was told that they had to order a part that would be in Monday 6/1/20. Since we did not hear from them that Monday or Tuesday we called them that Wednesday 6/3/20 to check the status only to be told that the wrong part was shipped to them and they had to wait for the correct part and it should be there Tuesday 6/9/20 so again we heard nothing from the shop so called on Thursday 6/11/20 and was told the car would be ready that evening...but low and behold it was not. They called at the close of business on Friday 6/12/20 and said another part needs to be ordered and will be there Monday...well today is Wednesday and needless to say we still do not have our car. Just received a call from the shop and they are towing our car to the Dodge dealership because THEY HAD NO CLUE on how to fix our truck. We’ve been without our truck for 3+ weeks. I usually do not write reviews but I had to warn any and every body about this auto shop.

We have been going to Monkey Mikes for years. He always takes care of us and gets us out the door usually same day. Hes worked on our power steering, breaks, ac compressors, radiators, etc. Very knowledgable. I would highly recommend Mike!

The owner was extremely nice, so a two is worth it. My husband is a mechanic, but was out of town, when my water pump gave out. I knew exactly what it was. Took hours to get someone to answer the phone, but once they did I told them what was wrong with my car, myself. He calls back two hours later to tell me exactly what I told him on top of throwing in my timing belt would also need to be replaced, as well. Quoted me almost $2,500 to fix both, because the engine would need to be dropped to fix it. I decided just to wait it out and find someone else. To find out my timing belt was perfectly fine, water pump, as I had originally said just needed to be changed and nothing else was wrong with my car.. also the right wheel just needed to be removed to replace the water pump, engine didnt need to be dropped. This place is over charging and saying things are wrong when they arent. Nice staff, but not honest. I would be mindful about going here.

The people were really nice..but I took my car to their shop because it would not go. They Never call you back even when they say they will, you will have to hunt them down to hear results. I was charged 700 bucks and told they did engine repairs.. it was not all for the engine. a 58$ oil change!!! and something with my air conditioner and engine thermostat.. which by the way was not over heating! I left that lot and called about pricing for whatever was left on the car.. was told they would call back they did not! Not a few days later it was going out on me and I was out 700 bucks. Was over charged for unnecessary things, Thanks for nothing.

Highly recommended. Having ones car break down when visiting a new town is always a serious problem-- you never know who you can trust. I had a water line blow out when travelling through Lubbock, and a local resident recommended I see Monkey Mike. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and got my car into his shop the very same day. I was very happy with the successful repairs he made, and the fees were very reasonable-- he didnt try to charge me for anything extra I didnt need, as many other shops would have. If you need expert auto repairs at a reasonable price, dont waste time anywhere else-- just go see Monkey Mike and hell take good care of you.

We went and had our car air conditioning looked at. The office informed us of our best option and quoted us a price. The shop did a great job!!! Were very pleased 😀

Not right...refuse to fix lock on my car...lied about trasmission...he was good at first know trying to get over on my trasmission with was nothing wrong with in the first place .i think he drained my trasmission oil out after doing a service for me....3200 he said for new trasmission.....i took it home but trasmission fluid in...Be better ever 2 months know...My car i had to look it up on utube just to but it in .no dip stick for trasmission...but no not ever will i take him my car again very disappointed....i liked his shop

I stopped by on a Friday, 30 minutes after they had closed. I had an overheating problem the night before leaving for family vacation. They stayed after hours and fixed it for me for a very reasonable price and very quickly. This was my first time using them but it will not be my last.

Ok thank you Cosarah for the review, but here is the actual recommendations for changing the water pump on your 2013 Ford Taurus. We have to do this to offer a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. You are correct that your husband can change any part you need but we as professionals have to do this for warranty and accountability. Every reputable shop in Lubbock would agree hands down. Factory recommends changing the tensioners and chain when servicing the water pump. Yes you are also correct about having to removing just the wheel, but you do have to tear apart the whole passenger side of the engine to get the pump out. 9.8 hours to be exact. The estimate was $1650.48 for water pump, timing set, fluids, and labor with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty parts and labor.

I came to Monkey Mikes in one of the most stressful and unusual circumstances. I was coming back from a trip in Toas, NM and driving into Lubbock my front wheel and rim came off my car completely!!! Just bounced away! I got it towed to Moneky Mikes with what I consider a normal expectation of cost and feasibility going to a random shop, to say i was prepared for the worst, I couldn’t be more surprised and lucky to find out I somehow had found one of the best mechanic shops I have ever been to and experienced. The job was extensive, I basically slide on the brake rotor as far as I could. Stressed, wondering if it could be fixed quick enough and if I could afford it, all that was put to ease. The repair was extremely affordable and done within a few hours. I planed to stay the night, and potentially broke. I left that day with money in my pocket still. I seriously wish these guys were back home in Austin, at 6 hours away, I still won’t completly put it off to drive here for help in the future. I don’t think I could recommend this place enough. Literally turned a nightmare to as pleasant an experience as it could be.

Finally ...a local mechanic, MonkeyMikes that is able to explain the tasks to get you in a safe driving vehicle as you had before and then giving his diagnosis not ever talking over your head. But there is more. this group of employes take pride in their work, and try to save you money, alleviating the always stressful situation by saying the right thing and being there when you need them to be. He is very sure of every thing that he does..I was stranded and was unsure about whether to drive to the shop... Did our car inspection quickly and without issue

Walk-in....asked about service for ac vacuum and recharge... Price was great...but service terrible, jumped my account high side plug with a paper clip to take in freon... compressor clutch started smoking, got the plug to the shop by AutoZone or ORiley who ever they go through...brought my car out about 2 hrs later ac working..1 day later ac clutch burnt out had to replace myself $100 for clutch $100 for tool rental...clutch burnt out because of the amperage load they put on the AC with continually running the ac with the jump by paper clips to pull in freon(brand new compressor)..will not return for service.

Would like to give them a 4-5 star review due to the politeness of the owner and employees but I can’t due to the fact I took my car to get a alignment on Good Friday and I didn’t notice it at the time because I was late to work but when ever I let go of the steering wheel it goes off to the left really bad so I just parked it until I replace some parts and then get a new alignment
