Very generous to students. I went in to get my truck inspected expecting a long wait but Johnathan was able to get me in and done in 10 mins and to add to that they did it for free. He said that every once in awhile they’ll do a free service for students because students already have enough to pay for, Not to mention the student discount they give. If you’re a student definitely come here.

When I first dropped my car off I thought I needed a new clutch ( I got it diagnosed at a Nissan dealership) and even off the hop it was going to be $800 cheaper here to get a clutch conversion Here then to go with Nissan. Then they take the time and effort to get a correct diagnosis and it turns out; I only needed a few specialty parts to get it back up and running correctly. Garys took the time to fix it right and even save me a decent amount of money! absolutely recommend!!

Gary & John provided great and reasonable service! I dropped off my car off when it had started making a loud rattling sound that it had never made before. I stopped by just before close and they had it ready first thing the next morning. They were very transparent and communicated to me that the only issue was a loose heat shield and the repair was covered by the diagnostic cost. Overall, great experience and great people! Took a chance with this place after losing a longtime family mechanic who closed shop and happy I did! I wanted to avoid franchises and big auto places but I’m always hesitant with the issues that often come with small shops. But! Gary’s was everything my last mechanic was and more, and the price beats the big name competition by a huge margin! I had needed a ball joint replacement and was quoted a price less than half that of Christian auto. Gary’s would have just done that work but I asked them to check the steering over - they found just a few critical replacements needing to be done that I opted for. (And I knew the steering was shot - the truck was on rugged mountain roads constantly for three years in CO). I expected the whole normal game to be played with the final call before the work was done - I know I have three easy fixes that any mechanic would notice that could be offered on my truck. But Gary didn’t try to sell me till I was broke on any of those other issues (example, o2 sensor out; easy and profitable fix for a mechanic to upsell on). That alone gives confidence to their work, as it’s so easy to say this or that is an urgent repair to sell more to ignorant customers. Very happy I wasn’t put through the ringer.But what impressed me most was the price and quality - good solid parts used and great work done. I was charged $800 for work (much more than just the joint) that a place like Christian auto would have charged at over 1800.The guys at the shop were friendly and professional, and I was overall very pleased with the whole deal! If I wasn’t moving soon Gary’s would be my go-to for any repairs for years to come. I’ve recommended them to three others so far, but I recommend them to you all as well!

Had my Honda CRV starter fixed here recently. I am happy with the service and their professionalism. The staff was really helpful and courteous. The front desk office lady who helped me with rides to and fro from my house was really awesome and such a sweet person. Would definitely recommend this place:)

Garys team are life savers and extremely helpful. Our daughters car was towed to Garys shop and they were very timely in examining the issue with her car. And, they even called the location we purchased our battery to see if they could get us credit toward a new battery. We now have Garys saved as a contact to help with any issues our daughters car may have in the future. I would highly recommend using them especially since we do not live in Lubbock but our daughter does ... they treated us like family and it gave us a relief to know our daughter has been taken care of since we couldnt be there to help.

I came Here twice.First one, my car didn’t start and I thought it is either the battery or the starter. They changed the battery with a good price.Second time, I came here to do state inspection and do full car inspection because I want to drive to DC without any problems. Gary at Garys Service center in Lubbock was amazing. After giving ford a week to fix my car, they said they wouldnt be able to fix it in time for me to leave town. I happened upon Gary who got my VIN number and looked up what parts were in town to fix my radiator hose. He had me pick up the car from ford and come to his shop. Gary knew I was on a tight schedule and had a technician looking at where I knew the leak to be within 2 minutes of me pulling up to his shop. We found the part in town and he had my car fixed later that day for less than half the price it was going to be at ford. Gary is the embodiment of service excellence and he truly cares about his Customers. Everyone that needs their car fixed should find Gary.

I have never had a better auto repair experience. Garys is beyond outstanding. I live out of town and my son is in Lubbock at school. It can be tough when things go wrong with the cars and you cant be there. My son found Garys and had his radiator repaired. Very reasonable price and prompt service. However, I can tell you that Gary himself is a man who stands behind his work. Shortly after our repair, my son was returning to my home and developed some transmission issues. I took it to my mechanic here in San Antonio and he said that the previous mechanic failed to complete all the steps. I called Gary and explained this. He personally drove his wrecker from Lubbock to San Antonio and picked up my sons car and returned to Lubbock to look at it. Turns out it the trouble didnt result from his mechanics, but was just coincidental. Gary still repaired everything and then refused to charge me. I highly recommend Garys to everyone. Especially parents whose kids are there at school. You can trust this shop!

Amazing service and experience at Garys Service Center. I have an older jeep that needed a new alternator, they gave me an excellent price and had it done very quickly. When my battery went out a few weeks later, they arrived to tow my car within minutes and installed a new battery for free as a previous, loyal customer. I went to Garys because my car was having an unknown issue that Pep Boys couldnt fix. They diagnosed my car and got it repaired all within two days. Came here when I thought one of my windshield wipers was done for, but they fixed it in less than 15 minutes. Also they did it for free since it was such an easy fix!! They easily could’ve tried to charge something but they were nice enough not to! The guys were very nice and didn’t try to upcharge anything. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

I was new to Lubbock and happen to stumble across Garys. He was able to inspect my car and diagnose a wheel barring that was going bad. Because my car had been in Pennsylvania for 15 years it was very rusty rusty under the body and it took them a lot of effort and work to try and get the barring off. In the end they could not and moved to the knuckle of the bearing. They were super professional about it and did everything in their power to save me time and money. I would strongly recommend anyone to take their car here if they are looking for a good garage!

Wow. I can’t say enough great sentiments about the service and care I received from Gary’s. I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma and my car broke down on a Friday in Lubbock. What a horrible feeling being 8 hours from home and my car breaks down with your child. I called Gary’s first thing on Friday morning and was welcomed with a friendly voice and assurance my vehicle would be looked at immediately. By 10;00am they had diagnosed the problem and by 1:00pm it was fixed. They even offered me transportation to and from my hotel. Gary did an awesome job on my 2007 Ford Freestar! He even beat the proposed repair by $25.00 which may not sound like very much but to a senior citizen on a fixed income it is HUGE!! We went in because something was wrong with our power steering. They took the time to figure out what was really wrong with our car and we ended up not need to replace anything. They are honest and thorough, and saved us a lot of money.

Very fair priced and very thorough investigation of the weird issues my older cadillac had. They really dont try to sell you anything you dont need. Service was super quick as well, even without much notice.

I was about to fly out of Lubbock when my car broke down. They towed my car and repaired me even when I left town. They communicated with me through text messages all the time. They fixed it and my friend was able to pick it up. It was so easy to communicate with them even when I was away.

AAA got me to Gary, and Gary not only got right on fixing my car, but also got me back to the hospital, *and* came and got me when the car was ready that same afternoon. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO GARYS AUTOMOTIVE!!!!! let me tell me about my experience with them in the past 24 hrs!!!! Overcharing for service I had my car towed in for brake issues at first they were really nice and respectful, but then when they diagnosed the problem as well as gave me a price. which was extremely over priced for the work that needed to be done! When I asked for an invoice to see what parts it need so I can check around to see where the better deal was. I was told by the owner Gary that they couldnt email, fax, or text it to me. The only option they gave me was to pick it up in person or mail it to me. then when it came time for me to pay them they charged $100 for diagnostic. they charged $50 for the diagnostic and $50 for labor! all they did was take 1 wheel off and on. they were also willing to send an email and a text with the invoice so I could sign and pay for the car but not to look around for a fair price. Then when I went in to go pay they were the rudest people Ive ever met!I truly hate business that feel like that can try and get over on students because a they think were dumb and dont know any better, or they think just because were so far away from home our parents are just goin to pay for it because we have no other options!!!

I usually don’t post reviews but HONESTLY Gary’s Service Center is THE BEST SERVICE CENTER in Lubbock, TX. Gary is FAIR, HONEST and TRULY CARES about his customers. I was a loyal customer at one of the dealership service centers in town for six years until that location tried to gouge me for unecessary repairs. I called Gary and told him about my experience at the dealership and Gary said that he would help me. Gary and his team are the BEST! Not only did Gary comfirm that the dealership was “inventing issues” with my vehicle but Gary also successfully diagnosed the “real issue” and repaired my car right away! GREAT repairs and GREAT customer service are what you will experience at Gary’s Service Center. I can’t recommend Gary enough! Gary’s Service Center is NOW my go to place for ALL of my car repairs. They did an oil change and a AAA Trip Check for $39.99. I needed a real trip check since I was heading Dallas and I faced several serious problems which had not checked. So it is better just call it oil change, not more!

Garys went above and beyond to get our car running. After replacing several parts and sensors ourselves trying to figure out the problem causing it to die or not start we decided to take it to Garys and see if they could figure it out. They told us it was the ECM and replaced it at a good price and had it back to us that week, unfortunately a day after picking up our car it continued to have the same issue. We called Garys and they came to pick us up and tow our car back to the shop they figured out it was the fuel pump and wiring causing the ECM to go out. After replacing the ECM a second time and the fuel pump they called us the next morning to pick our car up, they even came out to get us. When getting the keys we expected to be charged for at least the fuel pump and towing and were told we wouldnt be charged for anything more than what we had already paid the first time. Thanks to them our car has been running like a brand new car. They were so kind and professional and never tried to sell us anything we didnt need I wouldnt take my cars anywhere else.

I have used GSC ever since I came home from overseas in 2005. I have had everything from 3/4 ton pickups to my foreign fuel sippers serviced there and they have always been top notch. I was driving a Pontiac Firebird with a six speed standard transmission when the clutch went out. I was stranded in the middle of a busy intersection and all it took was one phone call to Gary and the next thing I know my car was loaded on a flat bed trailer and was repaired and ready the next morning.I have also been to several events in the community and noticed that they were sponsoring an event or being involved in some way. This guy is no good i took my lincoln town car there 3 time this shop said it was my fuel pump bought that new so paid them to do that didnt work took it back they said my fuel pressure was too low was not that took it to ramon and son guy found a air leak drove good since now you get burned by the same flame you are to blam why i say that is took my old school here to get the timing set they did not set it had my car all day for that the only thing they did was loose the timing nut and left it and call me to pick my car up will not come here never again theses guys get over i see on the reviews they try to defend the porpoises of their work and the owner which is gary hes never their so theses guy do what ever most for the crosseyed guy rude
