We had such high hopes. We love and cook Indian food at home, so a class on Indian food sounded awesome. This class was not so much a class as a chaotic mess with mediocre food. One table of students talked the whole time, making it impossible to hear the instructor. Not that the instructor had much to say, nor did she exercise any classroom management in asking the students to be quiet. The dishes were not well-prepared, with such inconsistency that my partner and I had completely different tasting food (mine was watery and gross). And at one point, the unmasked instructor went down the hall to have her third coughing fit of the night while a towel left on the stove caught fire. All this for around $110. Well, at least one dish was good—a fried potato ball, kind of like a samosa. It was served on a grocery store hamburger bun, but if you ate it without the bun, it was quite good.

Great date night, especially with the complimentary wine included with our meal! The menu for our meal was phenomenal and led by a Secrets of Louisville Chef from Sullivan University. I do recommend that you pay close attention to the level of class you’re signing up for though. We wanted to do more cooking, but the level we signed up for had some things already pre-prepared for us. The visual set up is nice and easy to follow. However, my wife and I’s only hang up was the amount of elbow room between us and the neighboring couples. They could do better to space you out, not just for COVID sake, but for cooking space.

Best Date Night EVER! Food, Atmosphere, and Instructors were all top notch. I had been wanting to do a cooking class at Cooking at the Cottage for awhile now, and am so happy I finally purchased a date night. My husband and I throughly enjoyed ourselves and were able to easily follow along with the instructor to prepare our date night dishes. The food was incredibly good and I cant wait to try another class again soon.

My husband & I have now gone to about 8 date nights here. That includes the 2 of us(for about($105) cooking a 3 course meal along with the instructions of a private chef. There are 8-10 other couples, separate tables, where every ingredient is pre-measured out & set up for you. Its a very unique experience that is a break from the normal restaurants. Plus youre cooking a meal that you would never have the courage to cook on your own & they send the recipes home with you after! You can also bring along your favorite bottle of wine or they serve it to there. Its a great atmosphere & I highly recommend the Friday night chef! But, plan on booking it at least 2 months out because those classes sell out fast!! They also offer a ton of different classes, Indian cuisine, cookie decorating, cake baking(those prices vary per person). Its a great experience I almost dont want to share.😉

The girlfriend and I had such a great experience at Cooking at the Cottage. We did the couples’ date night and it was such a unique date. The free wine was an added plus. All staff was courteous and very professional but it didn’t take away from the fun. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience, amazing date night!Classes are approachable and fun. Everything is pretty prepared (and theres no clean up) so its all about the fun part.We made a three course meal which was quite filling and loads of fun. The instructor was fun and light hearted, taught us to stuff and fold empanadas. The food was great and it comes with complimentary wineOverall this was the perfect date night, fun and different. If you want to learn to cook new things or just want to have a good time then I would highly recommend cooking at the cottage

My school hosted an event here for students to go and cook one night. I signed up at the last minute with some friends and had one of the best times cooking and just hanging out with not only the friends that I had gone with but all of the other students there as well. It is definitely something that I would do again and would recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and different to try!

Perfect for a unique date night! Expect to spend a little over 2 hours there, and youll need to book it at least a month in advance if you have a specific day in mind. Theres free wine while cooking, and youre also welcome to bring your own!
