I have never had fun working out until I started at Barefit about six months ago. I love having a trainer work with the small group of people because I often need help and they are right there with me. Ive had injuries to work around a few times and they help me heal and recover. They provide several different difficulty levels for each exercise so that newbies learn and start safely while the Ironman-training peeps also get a challenging workout. The Work for Your Beer outdoor workouts have been a great way to meet people and I have made some friends. I am getting stronger, I look forward to working out, the times of the different classes is convenient for me and I know I will be part of this community for a long, long time! ( BTW, Ive had no problems with billing and such. Some people are haters and complainers. )

Would leave zero stars if I could. I have watched my credit card be charged $93.28 EIGHT times now since cancelling my membership with BAREfit Adventure Training. I have email confirmation stating my account was cancelled July 8th, yet this charge continues. I have had ZERO luck when trying to email, post on their social media pages, directly call and text the owner. When I have reported the unauthorized charges to Chase Bank I have been told to issue a stop payment, which I have done, but they proceed to tell me its best to have the vendor cancel the membership to guarantee no further charges will be made. Yes, I have received reimbursements for the unauthorized charges but in order to be reimbursed I have to report every single charge. I am going to cancel the card so the purpose of this post is to seek help in how to handle the fact that Ive been watching myself get robbed before my eyes twice a month for nearly 4 months.I believe in supporting local businesses but I do not believe in supporting businesses who are poorly and unethically managed. I would appreciate any insight on how to report a business who attempted to rob me of $746.24 and will continue to rob me until my card is cancelled.

I agree with many of the positive comments about this gym. I enjoyed my time there and felt as if the coaches were nice and informative. This gym is for all levels and you can modify or push yourself as much as you want.I unfortunately was extremely confused throughout my process. I signed up for the free 10 day trial, that was actually $60 and only 4 classes. Then had an unexpected charge of $120 the next month. You sign a contract stating you will pay month to month until you cancel. I missed that part due to the fact that I was signing up on my phone. I really wish I would have gotten an email of the contract or a profile where I could see what I signed on their website or something. The owner was kind to help out and get my membership canceled, but I could not drop the charge. The way you sign up for classes is confusing and it is not unlimited access so you have to mentally keep track of how many classes you sign up for or you will get charged extra. From my understanding the month membership is 12 classes or $120..Im not sure I still dont understand!Again - great idea and fun, but extremely confusing.

PROS: I really like the concept of this gym. The workouts are different than just lifting the same weights every day and the coaches mix things up to keep you engaged. All of the workouts that I did were with Susie and she was great at explaining new moves that I was not familiar with and for giving modifications for people of different fitness levels. I love that the gym has monkey bars, a slack line, and hanging rings. Theres really no other comparable gym in town.CONS: The main con is the cost. I feel like $190/month is a lot for a gym membership, unless it has a more bells and whistles. A lot of niche gyms in town have free yoga classes included in their membership, so I dont see it as much added value. Open gym time would be great for people to drop in and get an additional workout. The classes go by quickly and sometimes I would have liked more time to work on a particular challenge move for the day.I do think it would be helpful if there were marker boards or something to list out the challenges and exercises for the day. Its hard to remember what to do for so many rounds. Though the instructor was there to answer questions, I hate to have to ask several times to remember which move was next. Maybe once people go longer and get used to the routines it gets easier.Bottom line: I would definitely go back, but I dont think theyve found the right price point/value mix yet.

And now BAREfit Adventure Training is contacting people to take down posts. How unethical can you get? This isnt the first time this has happened, per the BBB wesbite as well as former employees stating other people have had the same problem. Times are tough, I get it but that doesnt mean you act unethically. Then you offer services to “make up” for your mistake, that didnt even meet expectations in the first place. Not to mention it took 4 months and a post on social media to finally have you reach out becuase you dont want to “ruin your reputation.” I am all for supporting local, family business but you have to do business the right, ethical way...Not by stealing from and ignoring customers. BBB should be, and will be, in contact.

BAREfit is by far the best workout I’ve ever experienced. The variety of movements keep you interested and coming back. You will quickly find yourself stepping out of your comfort zone to try new things like traversing a log, climbing over a tire taller than you or crossing monkey bars for the first time since you were on the playground in elementary school. With a supportive environment, you’ll meet your fitness goals in no time.

This is more than a gym, it’s a lifestyle and a family. Barefit coaches work so hard to ensure that each person is meeting their goals. They offer every modification and/or progression possible so that all levels of skill can complete a vigorous and fun exercise! If you haven’t yet, check out their free trial option and see for yourself!

I love the classes and coaches, owner was cooperative, UNTIL I requested a membership cancellation because I won’t be in Louisville. Suddenly he only reads my messages ( iMessage read receipt) and I even asked him “would really appreciate a response regarding how and when you will cancel the membership. Thanks.” No response at all. I suspect he is waiting for the next billing day to charge me. So I decided to post my experience here as a warning for people considering signing up for membership.

This place is amazing! I joined last year in May, Ive never seen results so fast and I go to this gym less than I went to others. The coaches are great and they push you to do your best. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for results fast, and need someone to be there to encourage you and push you!

I am now entering into my third month with BAREfit and cannot say enough about this place. Absolutely not your cookie cutter gym. No two session are ever the same. The coaches are constantly changing up the game and it keeps you guessing and engaged every session. I called it a game on purpose because it never feels like a mundane workout. Its ALWAYS FUN. BAREfit focuses on progression and in just three months, the progression I have made amazes me. Each session, I see and feel the changes in strength my body is making. BAREfit also focuses on community and belonging. From my very first day, the BAREfit members showed kindness and helpfulness in every workout. The coaches show modifications for every exercise to make them easier or funner. There are 18 year olds and there are 70 year olds and all ages in between. The BAREfit program has something for everyone and I am thankful everyday for finding this program.

Did 6:30am circuit course with about 10 other folks; Anna and Nils were great trainers and kept us moving and changing through the workout. This is like beginner/intermediate overall fitness training for American Ninja-type course: I-beam balance walk, horizontal pole hanging crawl, short-wall climb over, army crawl with distance, hanging rings pull, and core strength mat work: scissor legs, pistol squat, hip rotations, moving plank. Like urban parkquor inside/outside warehouse space.
