If I could give zero stars I would. I have only had service with this company for not even 3 months and will be finding a new company to service our waste needs. We had all of our boxes broken down and neatly placed inside of a larger box for ease of collection, trash guy spills our boxes all over the yard and then leaves and does not take them. After inquiring with the company they claimed The boxes where not tied together so he was unable to lift them and therefore will not take them. Really? The boxes are broken down, pick up the boxes and put them in the truck, I am really tired of people not wanting to do their jobs. What happened to companies being grateful and appreciative of their customers? Would NOT recommend this company.**UPDATE TO OWNERS** I do not consider the amount of boxes unreasonable, especially since I have told your company before that I do NOT mind being charged for extra collection and that I just want to ensure what I put at the road is collected, even if it costs more. Your response is a perfect example of why people should not use your service. Rather then owning up to the fact your driver was too lazy to do his job, you put fault back on the customer. As you can see in the security photo all boxes where broken down and neatly placed inside of a larger box, your truck driver got out, tore the main box and spilled the boxes out onto my lawn, then got in his truck and left. INEXCUSABLE.
Promised a can 3 weeks ago!!! Told I could use one of my own, but that meant spending another $50. Then attempted to humiliate me by saying if I had paid my bill I wouldnt have this problem. I was on autopay!! My card changed, not my banking info, and the pmt didnt go through. They claimed they sent me a bill; didnt get it. Claimed they sent me an email; wrong email address!! If I had been informed about waiting on a can I would have chosen different company!
Driver saw me coming to the curb with a last second bag for the garbage can. Even though he had already emptied my can at the curb, he waited for me and then wished me a have good day as he drove off.Very courteous.

Been a customer of hometown for over 10 years I live on a one lane street on a hill only six houses here and they have been awesome to all of us. Always very professional whenever I had to call them which probably was three times in the last 10 years and that’s mostly because of the weather issues. As soon as the roads clear they were here picking up our trash and they quickly respond to any bad reviews that means they’re on top and they’re concerned of people. Thank you for your service .
If you stay on the phone for longer than 40mins maybe you will get someone to help youUesless.
They are great. Working on a Saturday after ice and snow prevented regular pickup. Reasonable in cost and great customer service.
I am more than happy with Hometown Hauling! I dont understand the complaints. We are more than happy to follow any rules and regulations to keep their drivers safe. We have all 3 services (garbage, recycle pick up and yard waste pickup) and I especially like that they email me the day before recycle is picked up to remind me to set it out as it is an every other week pickup and sometimes life is busy with 3 teens so there is a chance I would have forgotten. The email helps! I am impressed with the communication and professionalism of any holiday scheduling or if a pickup may be delayed due to an unforeseen circumstance. I am glad I dont have to worry about my service with them or rate increases. The previous company that I had raised rates considerably and had many missed pickups along with damaging property. Hometown Hauling is WONDERFUL and I am happy to also support a local business where they value both customers and their employees. (I have no knowledge of anyone I personally know who works there but once when we had a can that was to heavy we got a call professionally and kindly stating the reason they couldnt pick it up. I value companies that truly value their employees. We fixed the issue and have been careful not to overload any future cans.)
Cut my overhead internet line crossing the street again... no one picking up the phone in the offices... left trash in the street. The one two punch of bad customer service. Guess we aren’t working from home today. I’m not nearly as calm as this might read and this is before work issues.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company. they have always been very nice and professional with me and my mother and provide a warm and caring voice/conversation when I call. There was a time when I was running late for work and the driver saw me trying to get out of my drive way. He purposely backed up and waited to I could leave. I couldnt ask for a better team. I have read that there are come complaints, but I guess I was blessed with a great team to care for my mom and I.
Very pleasant and polite to speak on the phone and have never had a single issue with this company. Definitely recommend.
A ridiculous incedent. Young man saw my granddaughter put 2 bags of trash in my can. I was reprimanded for that even though they had no extra driving and no extra effort exerted to empty my can. I guess now I will guard my can and make sure not even one piece of trash goes into my can.
Hometown is moderately priced compared to others in the area, and Ive used them for over 10 years, however on Monday I called to say I had a couch to be hauled away, I asked what I needed to do, and they said Just put it down with your normal trash bins, let me confirm the addressI gave the address and they confirmed I was marked for the pick-up. I asked again if I needed to do anything at all like wrap it or or anything, and they said No, just put it with the trash and well get it taken care of, no wrapping or special care neededToday they called to say their guy wont pick it up because the sofa is not wrapped up.I asked about why they told me I didnt need to do that on Monday, and they said driver discretionIf i had know it was up to how the driver felt on the day of, i wouldve wrapped it just to be on the safe side. I asked if theyll do anything for me for giving bad info and what I should do about the couch, and they said the driver will be back in 5 minutes if you can wrap it, otherwise put it back inside and wait for next weeks pick upIm not home right now.I asked for a credit due to the bad info making me have to rush to figure something else out since I cant get the couch gone today, and they just said No, sorry and hung up on me.In conjunction with the regular fact i have to chase my bins down and clean up the street after they pick up because they spread trash up and down the road, i can no longer recommend Hometown Hauling.

These people are so rude. Due to this Covid-19 my husband just went back to work. So the lady in charge of “collections” called to “remind” me my bill was due on the 1st, it’s now the 8th and my service has been suspended. I tried to explain to her that I’m on Social Security and I don’t get my check until the 15th (7 days) and that my husband just went back to work. She didn’t want to hear it and said if payment wasn’t made by Thursday the 10th our cans would be picked up. How are companies who act like this with such rude employees staying in business? I mean LG&E, Water, even AT&T is working with people. All this drama for 63.00 for a 3 month bill. I’ll be looking for a new company especially on how much they charge.

I called Hometown Hauling yesterday early afternoon to start up service with them, because we are kicking Republic to the curb(after 3 missed/deliberately missed pickups). Excellent customer service at Hometown Hauling, (Thanks Dawn) and my 2 new trash cans were delivered bright and early this morning, AND Hometowns first pickup up at our address is the day after that, what are the chances!!!!. So thank you Hometown Hauling for bailing us out!!!! Already off to a great start.
We put out a piece of furniture on the pavement and assumed it would be picked up the next week since we hadn’t called in time. Instead it was lifted up and thrown from the street into our yard breaking it into pieces of wood and glass. This is a heavy piece of furniture and we are being told we need to fit it in the can or break it up into smaller pieces. If they needed help lifting it my husband would have helped but they have taken an old bed from us before and would not take the box from the new bed. Very disappointed in the lack of service.
We have used Hometown Hauling for YEARS and have never had one complaint. We are moving the end of September and unfortunately they dont travel to Brandenburg; otherwise, we would be customers for life. Thank you for your excellent service!
Come home from work to find my trash can tipped over in the yard, garbage juice all in my nice green grass. Was told when I called they didn’t pick up what was in the can. A few pieces of broken concrete. First time using this company. Not a good first impression. She said a letter was sent out regarding items they do not pick up but have not received anything like that. Very disappointed.

Weve been customers for 7 years and have never had a single issue. The one time they forgot to pickup our trash, my wife called customer service, and the rep was very polite and apologetic and sent a crew out the next day to pick it up. We just recently moved and our service was easily transferred without missing a single pickup day. They have always taken any large item we have sat out as long as weve called and given notice, as their website instructs. Thanks for the great service!
Called a few places - all stated it would be 10 days till I got a can and could start service. Hometown told me theyd have a can tomorrow and since its pick up day too - just put out what I have and theyll go ahead and grab it. They also allow 1 large item/month. Great Customer Service - I will write another review after Ive had their service for 3 months.
Worst company out there here in Louisville. Horrible customer support. They dont show up when there are supposed to and I couldnt even get my garbage cans I paid them for delivered. They wanted me to come pick them up. What a joke.
I dont know why everybody is giving horrible ratings. We have received great service and even the couple of times that our pickup was missed, called customer service and if pickup couldnt be done that day, a driver came out the next day. I have never had a bad experience with this company and hope we continue to receive the great service that they have been providing.
Great customer service! Had to switch to them ASAP back in October due to another company missing me every week. They were there next day with a can, and even picked up the trash the other company missed. Just recently I needed an extra can for moving, the can was there next day. Awesome customer service!
HORRIBLE!!! Would only give them a half star but there was no option. Had a major issue with one of their drivers which amounted to me loosing something worth 1,500 and the owner pretty much didnt care. Watch what you have in your yards, they will pick it up and put it in the trash and dont care about your loss. This item was not in the trash and the driver tried to lie at first and say it was leaning against the garbage can.
I pay 51.00 every three months. If I need a large item picked up I call them and they pick it up next garbage pickup no problem. They are the best and never try to change prices on you.
Last week I set out for pickup a Computer desk that I had disassembled and a small rolled up area rug. The rug was sitting on top of a full trash bin and a few of the large pieces of the desk were sitting against the bin. I soon got a call that the driver complained to his office that I had set out two bulk items. Any thing that isnt in the bin is a bulk item even though the rug was in the bin. I was informed that I they will only take one bulk item per month without an additional $5.00 charge added to your bill. I had a couple a boxes shipped to my home today that isnt going to fit in the bin with my regular trash for the week. I thought I better call and see what their policy was on Cardboard boxes. She told me if it isnt in the bin it is a bulk item and I cant put out a bulk item until after June because of the desk and rug, even though the rug was in the bin. I called Rumke trash pickup to check their policy about bulk items. They will take one bulk item per week when Hometown will only take one per month. I was also told they will take Cardboard boxes if they are broken down to 2x4 foot bundles. Not considered a bulk item because it is part of accumulated regular trash that people might have on any given week. So If you are having a problem with HT or looking for new service call around and check their polices. I start with Rumke after Friday!
They always come at the same time, very professionalI like when they always put trash can in the same place they picked it up and close the lid. They do a very good job.

Ive had Hometown for 10yrs and I have never had a problem with them! Most of the time all my trash fits in the garbage can they provide. The few times a yr Im over and they always take what I put out! The guy who comes to my neighborhood has the truck with an arm that lifts the cans over into a dumpster. So I try and make it as easy as I can for the guy picking it up by having my cans at the rd and side by side!
The truck driver called dispatch and had them call me because he wanted me to take my trash can 2 doors down and put it in a church parking lot because he didnt want to come to my house due to a hill hed have to back down.He hadnt even come to my house yet, he wouldnt be there for awhile and he laid claim that he knew the area. Yet another company will BACK DOWN our hill with no problem and pick up our trash.We promptly canceled service. Why would I take my trash can down the street when Ecotech will come down to pick up our trash with no problem at a lower price.They said they would have a supervisor come to survey the area but why bother if the driver knows the area and cant do it.EDIT: Not sure how there is a safety issue when Ecotech has NO PROBLEM coming to get the trashcan FOR CHEAPER. Maybe you just need to train your drivers better in order to provide quality service. Why would I have you come survey the area if your driver already knew it. Wasting both of our times. Also, why would I move my trashcan 2 doors down in an open CHURCH PARKING LOT when I can change service and have someone come get it without issue from MY HOUSE.
I have been with Hometown Hauling for 3 months. The staff are patient, knowledgeable, and helpful on the phone. One morning, my can was on its side, trash spilled out on my lawn. The neighbors’ cans were empty. How does this become a 5 star review? I reset my can and dialed HH. Their office was closed. I forgot about it until I can home from work to find my can empty and a handwritten Christmas card from the owner in my door. You don’t get that kind of care everywhere! Thanks, guys! Hometown Hauling USED TO provide excellent service at a good price. Recently they have adopted ridiculously strict policies about what they will pick up: Exactly one of their wheeled garbage cans, plus only two small cans or bags of trash (unless the guy thinks it is too heavy for him), plus a maximum of one large item a month provided you call them in advance to schedule the large item. If you never have more than one can of garbage a week, they still provide average service at an average price; but with only weekly pickup their total lack of flexibility just doesnt work for a family.
Horrible customer service. I had my can removed, called in and spoke to customer service to ask how much to reinstate it they told me 7.50 I added extra to bill and paid it then my next statement comes and its 86 dollars. I call in to ask about that and they was not for sure. Then they come back and tell me it was 25 dollars to remove the can and bring it back. I tell the manager of this incidence and she tells me no one would tell me that. This is horrible customer service and this company definitely needs training and different proc Not professionalat all edures put in place .
I cancelled my service with this company by a phone call in December of 2013. The customer service representative did not reflect my account. I left the trash container at the end of my driveway for 3 weeks and even spoke to the drivers who told me someone else would be picking up the can. I attempted to call Hometown Hauling but do to my work schedule I was never able to get through. They are open Monday - Friday until 5 pm and there is no way to leave a message. I returned from being out of town to a collection agency notice and an additional bill from Hometown Hauling and when I spoke with them they have refused to correct my bill stating they have no record of me cancelling my account. I have all of this in writing from the Vice President and Owner of the company.This is poor business practice and unprofessional. I cannot control what their customer service agents reflect in my record. They even confirmed that I spoke to a customer service agent but will not concede that an error could have been made on their end.I am concerned on how many customers have had to pay additional fees due to the errors made by customer service agents. I am going to pay this $43 bill because the owner of the company has stated in writing that I have no other recourse than to fight it out with the collection agency but I feel that other customers should be informed of this unprofessional business practice. I have informed the owner of the company I would be making this complaint and would be personally letting every person and business contact know of my personal experience with their company and recommending that people do not choose to have their service.I was a loyal customer for many years and paid my bills in advance a year at a time. I am extremely disappointed and disheartened by their unwillingness to make this situation right.
I called Hometown to alert them about the trash that is always being left in the streets, and the trash cans being left too far into the street. I spoke with Dawn, a Manager and owner.Dawn did a great job at being very unprofessional.Dawn also could not communicate well with me, especially by being a manager I expected better service.Dawn had a very nonchalant attitude towards me explaining my issues.I was fine with Dawn telling me that Hometown was not responsible for the damage my rear window suffered due to me avoiding a car accident with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. I wasnt fine with Dawn being unprofessional and using one word responses towards my concern.I would love for Hometown to educate Dawn on customer Service. Also remind Dawn that Hometown is in business because they have customers that pay for their services.Thank you Dawn at Hometown for solidifying that you no longer need our service.Also, no one really answers here, nor returns calls.
This company was great the first month. I used to see the driver even pick up trash that fell from trash can, today my trash didnt get picked up again!!! In the past the driver got upset because since I was moving there were a few boxes in there which made him shake the can a few times to get the trash out.. . His inmature reaction to this was to kick my trash can in the middle of the road and everything that fell out of the can he kicked all over my front yard ! I called and pretty much nothing was done about it!Not sure why they lowered their standards so much but I am very disappointed and of course looking for a better service from a better company.

We started using hometown 3 years ago. We chose them knowing they werent the cheapest option, but we wanted to support a small, local business. Over the few years we have been with them they have been inconsistent with their pickup times, and have just plain skipped over us on several occasions. Their customer service response to these things have been the same, sorry that happened, we will be sure to pick up your trash next week. Thats right... we have had to have our trash sit an extra week multiple times because they wouldnt come back and get us. This obviously caused a horrible smell and for our neighbors to complain. My last straw happened today. My wife rolled our trash bins to the road for pickup last night. I come home from work today to see that only 2 out of three bins have been emptied. I called customer service to see if they would come get the bin they forgot only to be told that said bin was apparently too heavy and the men working the truck were unable to roll it. I may be assuming too much here... but if my 120 pound wife can roll that bin, I guarentee the men who work the truck can as well. Once again I was told that my dirty bin full of garbage had to sit there until next week. My response was, please cancel my subscription.
Ive been with this company for some years now. The pickup service has not been an issue. During the sale of our home is when I ran into the issues. I pay annually. I called to inform the reason for not submitting a payment, thats when the problems began. The dreaded customer service call. Just READ the other online reviews. For my years of being a good customer, all I can remember of the call is how I would be sent to collections for my recurring service fees.
Hometown Hauling is pretty great. When we first bought our house, we kind of forgot wed need trash collection (came from an apartment) and called a nation-wide competitor to start out with. After a few months, we looked into HH and found that wed get all the same services for about $30 less per month. Service has been reliable with no problems for the past three years. Its exactly the same as all the big names, but with different colored bins- and a smaller bill.
Not the best customer service. I do not have many complaints about the garbage service. I think they have missed my house 2 times the almost 2 years I have lived here. However, the recycle I had issues with. Customer service regarding a miscommunication which resulted in me cancelling my account was very unprofessional. The lady was very rude and not understanding or even tried to understand at all.
Great service. Lady name Bernice(I hope i spelled it right) even called me this morning to inform me that, table and chairs are picked up but some item(Toilet) did not get picked up due to size and other issue. I am very happy with service and phone call like that. thank you again. I recommend this company to eveyone.
Hometown Haulings rates are reasonable. The service is reliable. Everyone Ive spoken with at their office has been friendly and helpful. I wish Id begun using them sooner.

My wife and i have been in our home since 2015 and have had zero issues with this garbage company. I use a large can and sometimes i will sit out a regular can with it. Can’t really comment on bulk items because i haven’t set any out yet.
Great service, they actually pick up my trash and recycling on the scheduled days. That sounds like it should be a given, but compared to my last waste pickup srevice, this is a huge improvement. When there is nothing out they call to let me know that they had came by. I very happy with my service and would highly recommend them.

Ive been with Hometown for almost 2 years. They have been nothing short of EXCELLENT! Always on time; never missed a pickup. Our service man is real friendly. They are also good at hauling large items (once a month) if you give them at least a days notice. Theyre also cheaper than the competition, and at age 63 Ive had all of them at one time or another. Im sorry some people have had a bad experience with them.
The only reason they get 2 stars is because they have the best price. The ladies that answer the phone and call out have the worst customer service skills Ive ever seen. Got a phone call saying I had a bag of yard waste in my regular can. Tried to explain that no I had cleaned up the fence line behind my yard where people throw their trash and some leaves must have mixed in with the trash. She proceeded to tell me it didnt matter, that the law states I have to pick any and all leaves and dispose of them in a different way. But that I could purchase a container so I could separate properly. I wish I would have taken a picture to show how few leaves were in this bag, but how big of vultures they were to try to make an extra rate per month off of me.
Poor customer service the best thing that can happen to this company is another one buy it and fire every on staff. For 2 months straight they would throw the 95 gallon roller cans on their side after emptying them through my neighborhood when I canceled it took them another 2 weeks to come get their can and then they left trash all over my front yard. When I emailed customer service about it their response was sorry not sorry you canceled please pay your last bill.... never again will I use them
I switched to Hometown Hauling 5 years ago. They have always taken care of us. They are cheap and whenever I have a big item to pick up they can get it done within a week. Highly Recommend!
Terrible isnt even the word.... Multiple occasions changed their pick up times without warning, call and and get rude customer service. Was told the warning was on the website and spent 20 minutes looking for schedule change notification and there is none. Was told on multiple occasions that if you dont like it go somewhere else so yall can have fun with it. DO NOT use their service!!! You get what you pay for... cheap and lousy
They are clean but they have destroyed 2 of my garbage cans and will not refund the money nor give me another toater less I pay. Says not their responsibility. Then dont use the claw on them if they are not their property....
I have never had any issues. My garbage always fits in the can and they always take it. I call when I have a large item and they pick it up free. What more can you ask for? Much cheaper than waste management.
Horrible service! Driver would call into office every trash day and complain about our amount of trash (which was never a lot). No one ever told us there was a limit of trash. Driver would pick up trash from cans and leave any extra trash outside of the cans. Driver would also just throw our cans wherever instead of sitting them upright. Cancelled our service immediately, no other trash service weve had has limited our amount of trash we could sit out. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $10 for a better service.
Terrible, I cant warn you away strongly enough. The worst and least user friendly trash service in Louisville. Use anyone else and youll be better off.
Ive had nothing but a good experience with Hometown over the past year. The only issue I had which isnt really much of an issue, is that they were picking up my garbage at different times for several weeks. I would roll my can out around 8am, but theyd already picked up. I started taking it out the night before and havent had any more issues. They treat the can well, Ive never had any dents. The can is left in an upright position and on the side of the driveway. And, theyre the cheapest in town (that I know of).

The only reason they get 1 star is because of the price. They keep missing my garbage pickup and blame me for their mistakes. My garbage is put out faithfully the night before and I have paid them on time for the last six years. The ladies at the office are rude and not very helpful. I don’t understand why this keeps happening. How hard is it to stop at my address and pickup the garbage like you’re supposed to?? Then when they actually do pick it up, they spread garbage all over my lawn.

Ive been very happy with the service, their price is the cheapest I have found, and they have been very reliable. No extra charges for big items unlike other companies, just call when you are putting it out, and they haul it off.
I have been a paid customer since 2014. I got up today and my can was gone. I called and spoke with DAWN who stated she was a OWNER and had horrible customer service I asked why they took the can she said I had a past due bill I explained I NEVER got a bill or I would have paid she insisted that I was screaming at her and stated she just cancelled my account fully!!!! I had a my visa in hand ready to pay something I never recieved a bill for. She was very rude and short. If Dawn is a owner as she stated amd hometown has her dealing with LONG time customers hometown will NOT make it. Thank you Dawn for sparing me any future headache I am happy to take my money and business elsewhere
Although their prices are better than most, their office customer service is horrible. Honestly, if it wasnt for the price and the sweet, polite road crew (Mr. Tony) I would be gone and given it a negative zero in the review. #dobetter
They charged me 100.00 for a garbage can that they came and removed 4 weeks prior. When I called in and reported it they removed it with no problem. We will if I have any further problems with the charges.
Had a sales representative approach me asking about my current trash service, which Im more than happy with. I explained to her that I just ordered a second can from them and that I was possibly interested in switching eventually, just not now. She explained that they would be cheaper than my current service and could offer me a free month to try them out and see what I thought. I went ahead and decided to try out the free month though I still was in a contract with my current and couldnt get out. When I called to explain I was cancelling before the free month was up and I was charged, they tried to convince me that I already signed up and would already be charged regardless. When I explained that their sales representative was dishonest and misrepresented their contract, she still tried to convince me that I was to pay for three months of service plus a cancellation fee.I was genuinely interested in doing business with them after my contract with Republic was over, but I refuse to after they tried to defend their lying sales team. If youre looking for an honest company to do business with, this is not what you want.

If it aint in a can - they aint picking it up.My can was full up with our normal garbage. I bought a new grill, so I had a giant cardboard box filled with all the styrofoam and cardboard that accompanies a new grill. We called to let them know beforehand that we would have a larger pickup - including a tabletop that weighs about 20lbs.I wake up in the morning - my can is empty, but the tabletop and box remains. A garbage company that doesnt pick up my garbage is of no use to me.
They get two stars for being cheaper than Waste Management. My experience with Hometown Hauling has been that of frustration. We have recycling and trash pickup services. The recycling is picked up regularly, but the trash is not. Every week I have to monitor whether its been picked up and call the office to report back. This is frustrating and something annoying that I dont have time to worry about. Weve given them several chances and they recognize that they need to move us to a different route since it keeps happening. I will give them one more chance, and if there is no improvement we will be canceling service and moving on.
Great place company. When we had vandals attack our mailbox and trash, they picked up all of the trash (from the ditch) and collected it. They replaced the can that had lots of dents as well.

Below is her experience: called them about week and half ago and told them about dad passing away and when was bill to be paid cause we still needed their service until we got house all cleaned out and they said bill wasnt due til February 1 st. So I said that will workout and she put in for service to cancel Jan 27. I even gave her my address to send final bill. So we got the house finished this past weekend so I called them on Monday and told them we were done w cleaning house and under the circumstances that we had about 9 or 10 bags of trash that wouldnt fit in dumpster and would they pick them up. She said yes they woukd and that they would go ahead and take garbage can. I said that will work. Get a call from Dads neighbor this mornin and of course they left the 10 bags they said they would get and took the garage can. So I called them and they said well you had like 21 bags. REALLY. How rude and unthoughtful this so called company is. ...the bags where then run over and now have to be cleaned up ....with no can
Been with them many years but their customer service is absolutely horrible. Youll get phone calls and letters complaining that you put out too much trash or a large item for them to pick up.
Hometown Hauling is a horrible company to deal with and I recommend not using any of their services. I purchased yard waste removal and have been missed multiple times. The customer service over the phone is very rude when you call in with an issue. A few weeks ago, part of my trash was dropped all over the street when being picked up, and the workers simply left it there in the road for me to pick up. Finally, someone decided to use my yard waste can as their trash service, and placed a trash bag on top of my yard waste. So when the driver came through they skipped my house because a trash bag was sitting on top of the can. I called Hometown Hauling, and the woman on the phone became rude with me, said she was talking to a supervisor, and then came back on the phone and said they have already been through and cant pick up my yard waste. Then she randomly told me to contact some name and started rambling out a phone number with no explanation of who this individual is or their affiliation. Beware, if you choose Hometown Hauling this is the type of service you may receive.
This is the most awful company on the planet! They refuse to pick up my garbage, I had a few extra bags beside my can they were supposed to pick up. Their employee cursed at us because there were extra bags instead of picking them up. I called in and let customer service know what was going on and they promised they would send someone out today to pick everything up. They claimed that someone came out with a truck, but the garbage was still on the curb. So I called back in and spoke to the owner, his name is Bob. He was excessively rude and refuse to listen to me after asking me what was going on. He just kept rudely talking over me and acting hostile. I tried to explain to the man that his trash pickup Personnel cursed at my family and the person they sent out to pick up the trash after his original garbage man did not do his job also refused to do his job and the garbage was still in the yard. His employee tried to claim there was dozens or more bags when there was not. I sent him a full email explaining the situation and had pictures of the bags that they had left yesterday and another photo of how many was still there today. He was dead Set On Believing his employee that said these bags are too heavy to pick up. He attempted to explain to me that his employee could easily bench 350 pounds but he still had no ability to pick up these bags. I sent him a photo of my 170 pound son holding a bag and two photos of me picking up a bag with one arm. I explained to him that Im physically disabled due to my back, neck, my ankle, hip and blood pressure problems. Im very much disabled. But I was able to pick up a bag with one arm. The email and photos made him more hostile and he said he was going to come to my house with his truck to remove the trash. He brought one of his employees and instead of removing the trash he forced us to put all the bags in the back of his truck while refusing to let the tailgate down. His truck had a lift on it and the edge of his bed was about Chin high to me. He made a disabled person pick bags of trash up and throw them over the edge of his bed while rudely standing there and watching with his employee. This caused me to re-aggravate an injury, Im calling an attorney because of this scumbag. You pay for their service and they refused to render proper service. I canceled my service with them and went to Rumpke. When I spoke to their customer service Personnel at Rumpke she was disgusted at what she had heard that happened to me and my son. She explained that they would have no problem hauling off extra bags, larger items or anything else we needed as long as we call them in. They said its actually normal for them to take a full trash can and up to 8 bags of trash with no problem whatsoever. Its apparent Hometown hauling has a serious disgust and Loathing for their customers. I intend to file suit for the physical damages caused by this moron forcing me to pick up bags of garbage and reggravating an injury. If this moron would have paid attention to what I was saying instead of talking over me he would have heard that I record all conversations on my cell phone because Im a businessman and sometimes clients can be deceptive. I also have the email with the photos explaining that Im disabled but this douchebag forced me to pick up bags of trash iregardless of my disabilities. Not only is the owner scum of the Earth hes also an excessively ignorant human being. I hope the lawsuit causes so much pain and suffering like he is causing my back and neck now.Tony J.
I switched my garbage collection to Hometown Hauling when they first came to Louisville. I have had good service up until the last year but since then service has deteriated. I have had skipped service, problems contacting customer service, a broken garbage can that they broke and now they are being selective with what they pick up. ( ie a box with garbage in it!!!) This is getting rediculous! That is what they are paid for... to pick up curb side garbage.I called to inform them that they missed the box and did not get an answer for multiple rings/answering machine. Then finally a person who could care less about my complaint. She informed me that they dont pickup a.box full of trash. I informed her that theyve done it before as well as many other trash items in the past. She kept repeating herself with no empathy and could care less about keeping us as a customer. Due to this, i informed her that we would cancel our service and ended up doing so due to the fact that she lacked any concern for my business relationship with them. It is unfortunate that it had to come to this but Im sure there are plenty of other garbage companies in Louisville that would love my business.
This place is a joke! Ive had trash thats been sitting out on the curb for TWO WEEKS! Also, the driver of the dump truck hit and knocked over my mail box. Apparently if you dont report it in the same day, there is nothing they can do! Customer service sucks!
Hometown Hauling is an unorganized business. Called 48hrs in advance to pick up a bulk item, explained to them that it was very heavy and the female rep asked about how many people were needed to lift it and we told her 2-3. The Garbage man (they only sent 1) pulled on one corner of said bulk item, decided it was too heavy for him, like we said, and left it there. Called hometown where the female rep said Maybe hes coming back with help then we receive a phone call stating they cannot pick up the item because its heavy and wont go into their bucket. Its a desk, its just heavy and no bigger than a couch (which we have put out in bulk item before and THAT fit) and when asked if they can send someone out to help get it in she says it costs the company too much money to send help to the drivers and they have to make sure their trucks arent damaged. By a desk?! What a joke of a company. After 2 years of service we cancelled and have moved on to a better trash service that is cheaper and offers more! Sucks they are so worried about costing money to send 2 people on a job and lost a loyal customer and they pay that came with it!
Several times now I have paid my bill the day before service is supposed to be delivered, and I am left with full garbage cans sitting in front of my house for another week. They show the payment in their system enough to tell their drivers not to remove the cans, but they specifically do not remove the garbage. When calling in and speaking to a representative about the issue, I was rudely told that because I paid my bill late (even though this is a PREPAID service for 3 months), that they didnt have to deliver service, and that they might pick my garbage up next week. Horrible company, horrible service delivery, horrible customer service, pick a different garbage company.

WORST GARBAGE COMPANY EVER! The owner we spoke to doesn’t care about the customers or any customer service at all.
We had put our trash out about 8:00 and the driver had not touch our side of the street and we called in and the lady was rude and did not want to state her name and refused to hear my complaint
This is the worst trash service ever took trash out total of 3 cans and they leave 2 bags of trash now scattered all over my front yard they tried telling me my cans wernt in a good spot I put them in the same spot I always do never a problem before hometown hauling is a joke wouldnt recommend them to nobody
I have been with them for about 5-6 years. I have had zero problems with them. Their rates have increased one time by $3 and they always take whatever I put out.
Ive had Hometown for 6 years and Ive never had an issue with their customer services or services at all for that matter.

They have always treated me well. I like that they inform me about delays due to holidays. They do large item pickups the same week o call on it. They havent ever not picked something up that I called them about.
This company calls you for everything if you fill a lot the tanks complain and they say put the bags on the ground, but the driver says that if they put them on the ground he does not pick them up, the truth is that they have me tired with all their drama I only pick up garbage that I pay them.
Terrible company...pay your bill late and they take your can, even though they know you paid them...waste management is awesome and theyre a little less expensive
Do not use them they are not a good choice, they stole our personal trash can lied about it.
This is the worse place Ive ever dealt with. I dont recommend to anyone. A lot of hidden fees, mismanaged, & unfriendly employees. Not to mention all the hydraulic oil left on the streets.
