The prices for services seem fair and the work did get done quickly, but my bicycle sat in the shop for two extra days because I didn’t receive the call telling me the work was finished. I tried to call the shop, but they don’t want you to leave a message on their phone, saying they will call you back (they didn’t). When I went in person to check on the bike, I was told that they had called me but “dont leave messages” which is frustrating if you don’t know who is calling and/or can’t answer immediately. I would recommend if you choose to take your bike there to specifically request they leave a message when they finish the work.
Unique location with a vast selection of bikes. Its always a pleasure stopping in and speaking with the infamous and legendary Jackie Green. Owner has been around for years and truly cares about the biking community and supports the City of Louisvilles effort to become a more sustainable and bike-friendly community. Service is fast, inexpensive and they are extremely knowledge on how to repair many different brands of bikes. Very helpful crew. Thank you. They also have a great selection of bike for sale. If you visit, you must check out the bike cellar....its one of a kind and a really awesome experience.
The bike shop is the place when you have bicycle needs and it cant be denied how appealing it is for cycling enthusiasts.
I had a wonderful experience here today. My tire and intertube were replaced promptly and for the fairest price in Louisville. I encourage you to support this local shop if you are a true cycling enthusiast.
Got a flat tire on a recent trip while visiting Louisville from out of town. Most shops were closed on Mondays, but not Bike Couriers Bike Shop. Brought my bike right in and 10 minutes later I was out the door and all fixed up. Price was lower than expected and service was top notch!
Good bike shop the store person was friendly and help me with what I was looking for
It was actually an awesome experience. Extra friendly service. They were fast and pricing was fair. Great business!!
10/10. I went in not knowing what I needed and all I did was show him a picture and I learned so much in like 5 minutes. Super helpful. Super smart. Its a bike mechanic that sells parts on the side. Great great bike shop.
Its the greatest experience having your bike serviced here! Great people, great service, and theyll throw in a few pieces of advice for bike-care for ya! Love this place.
Good work, good prices, good advice.
Locally owned small business. Excellent, fast, friendly service at reasonable prices. I dropped my bike off for a tune-up 10 minutes before closing, and it was ready for pick-up just after lunchtime the next day. They restore old bikes and sell them cheap, and stand by their work. They usually have the parts on hand for a quick repair, and if you ask nicely will even let you use their tools to do it yourself. Whether you have a bike or need a bike, this is the place to go.
Great service and knowledgeable staff.
TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! Over priced and extremely POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!Took my (cruiser) bikeibike for a whobbly back tire that pressed against the brake. Discovered a broken spoke in the wheel; charged $29 for the replacement. Fifteen minutes after riding off, the spoke broke again. The bike was immediately taken back. I was told that wheel needed to be replaced @ $80. When asked if the $29 charge for the spoke would taken off the cost for the wheel, I was told yes. Per picking up the bike a week later, I was told that the costs were separate; however a discount of $10 (not the $29 I was told originally) would be taken off the $88 (not the $80 originally quoted) repair total. Despite a polite yet firm protest of unfairness. I was discounted no further. The clerk was informed that theyd just lost a customer. I will NEVER do business with this shop again. NEVER.
I have had great service here.
Very quick, affordable, and friendly service. Russ made sure to notify me about any other needs my bike desperately needed before starting them. My back rim was in horrible shape, and they took the time to make sure the replacement matched my current set. Very happy with the decision to come here and will definitely be a repeat customer.
I was translating for someone trying to buy a bike, they ask for who was the bike. For him they didnt have but for me they do. We were same size and weight. Kind of weird.
5 star, no doubt. Russ is the man. They are knowledgeable and passionate about helping fix your bike when it needs it.
These guys know their stuff, some of the friendliest and most honest people Ive met in a place like this. Great vibes
Its okay if you have money to waste instead of shopping around anywhere has better prices than they do but they do have great bikes they also have a tire pump out front that you can use anytime you want to during business hours of course
I really like this shop. From finding the right bike for my needs to fine tuning it after purchase, these guys have been awesome! The quality of their product is amazing. It feels like they care more about you being perfectly happy with your biking experience than making a sale... I have sent many friends to this shop and will continue to do so.
Great place with great help. I have come here multplie times for various reasons, viz., replacing flats, general tune-up, and new tread. They are quick at the job and are dependable. If you need any thing to do with bikes and you are in Louisville be sure to stop by here.
The staff is friendly. Their $10 charge to put on a new tire and tube seemed reasonable. They have a lot of interesting bike accessories and their panniers looked affordable compared to the shops around Cincy. Most of the bikes here are upscale.
I got a flat tire and since I have two left hands could not fix the flat myself. I walked my bike to the store and upon entering was promptly greeted...my tire was serviced and all in all it was a Great Experience. This will be my goto bike shop from now on. Plus, if your not wanting to get some snobby sales man - like at other bike shops - You will LOVE This Place! Down to Earth Customer Service!Update: I wanted a newer bike since my 15 year old cruiser was just not making it for me. They were great at helping me select a bike in my price range and making some changes that I wanted.Let me say, this is the place to shop if you want a good bike or great service.
Excellent ServiceI had to go in for a quick tube change this morning. At first, the guy in the shop said Id have to leave it with him for a couple hours because he was working on some other stuff. I guess he could tell I was a little disappointed to hear that, because he went ahead and changed it for me while I was there. I was very grateful, so I left a (probably) unexpected tip for him. Ill definitely go back!
They so called threw away my original rim that could not be trued. It had a quick release on it. Sold me another rim. Just seems suspect to me. I will not be going back. Took six days to get all of this done.
Great Shop Best in town. Fast, Knowledgeable service. Very reasonable prices. Convenient location
I go to this shop every time I need some work done or need products. The owner and his employees have always been helpful, friendly, speedy, and the prices are good! I would recommend this shop over and over again.
This place is HORRIBLE! I just called up there, and within 3 minutes, I was put on hold twice in a row. Once for a customer actually being there (in which I understand) and once for another phone call. Then, as I am actually looking at the tires I needed for my moped the older guy on the phone was like Just tell me the size, I just need the size, just tell me the size. I told him that I didnt know exactly what numbers to look for and he said to call back because he had other customers waiting! What an idiot! I have never stepped foot in this store and I can ASSURE you that I will not. In literally 3 MINUTES you lost a customer. Whomever this guy is needs to be taken off of the sales floor and put in a corner somewhere with a dunce hat on. Just plain stupid to have that type of customer service. Take heed on this review, as I NEVER post anything like this unless its positive. TRUST ME, if you are looking for a new place, I would sell my moped before I took it there.
These people have been in business for years but lately their business has gone to the dogs. I have two bikes a mongoose and a Denali I took the mongoose in last month to have them fix a flat I didnt even get it home before it went flat. I had tried to patch it myself it didnt hold I told them that I took the bike to falls city bike works pulled the tire off and found the same patched tire. I have a Denali that I took to them to Alain greese and true the Denali has abusted spoke if they tried it whys it busted I wonder what they smoking
Its the place to rent when you are staying downtown. It was my second year in a row renting while visiting for the Derby festival. Only cruisers or road bikes to rent - we opted for the cruisers. All bike rental shop close on Sunday making Sunday drop off impossible. Jacky accommodated us by agreeing to pick up at our hotel Monday. We took some of his suggestions making for a great Sunday ride through Old Louisville, Cherokee Triangle festival, Cave Hill cemetery, Frankfort Ave, then down along the river. A priceless day thank to Jackys accommodation.
I only went to this location because it was close to my work but after being refused the ability to return a part that DIDNT FIT MY BIKE I will now only go to my first choice: On Your Left Cycles.Dont take my word for it, read the reviews and experience the horrible customer service yourself.
These people are flat out rude, not helpful at all! When I called before I came the guy put me on hold for 20 minutes and never came back. I could here he talking in the background thinking he was waiting on a customer. Afterwards he hung up on me. When I called back he didnt apologize when I told him of my wait. When I arrived he was really rude. After telling me he couldnt fix my problem I ask how much it would cost to replace my item, after giving me a price double what I paid for mine he got upset claiming Im trying to run him out of business. I recommend find somewhere else its not worth the headache.
Just the worst. Went in looking for a derailleur hanger. Owner wouldnt even look at the piece or help me unless I brought him both pieces of the broken part... I had only brought one piece. Thinking this was a little rude of him to not even attempt to help I went home and returned with both pieces. After bringing the part he told me it would take a while for him to go through his parts and would call me when he found a match. Went home and found a match online that evening. Its been 5 days and he kept my broken derailleur hanger. Havent heard from him.
Horrible custom service, not helpful at all when someone is there. most times it is closed. no help if you want to waste your time come here. I live down the street and will drive out of my way to never go to this shop. the other location on market street is even worst. the register does not work and they charge out of the world prices.
They fixed my tire in less than 30 mins .
Always friendly and helpful.
Just needed bike lube and was close to hotel. Lots of accessories and options. Owner was chatty and seemed passionate about local cycling / community
This place was god awful. I cant believe they are still in business with the attitude you get. I called to ask a few questions about a bike I was interested in and was belittled over the phone by one of their employees. This, after being placed on hold three times. I thought the guy was joking at first it was so blatant. I will never do business with these guys. Ever.
Rented a bike from Jack. He was friendly, obviously passionate about cycling and gave me a good deal on a KHS roadie with 105 components.A couple other customers came into the shop while he was pointing out places of interest on a map. He did a great job of making sure everyone felt like they were being taken care of, and i left with a sweet ride after about 15 minutes. His passion was mentioned in previous posts. I can see how this could result in him refusing to do what he perceives as a half-assed job on a derailleur, but my experience was very positive. I also only dealt with Jack. Cant speak for his staff.Ill be back in the spring and will definitely rent from him again.
Go to place for mechanical tools / accessories. Plus really big selection of Jamis bikes.Mechanics are top notch!
Needed a cable. Went to this location, got exactly what I needed. Reasonable price, Clerk seemed knowledgeable. All in all a good experience!
The guys that work here are truly the worst. I like the idea of this store but every time I come in I guess I dont fit their profile of a bike rider so I get ignored lied to and shrugged off. I dont get how they are still in business.
Fantastic service coupled with extensive knowledge. Highly recommend for beginners and experienced cyclists.
Got great bike that for my needs. And additional tuning after purchase.
They took my 20 year old green Trek and made it almost new for a fair price. It took 2 visits but it was worth it
Really, really nice staff and a good selection of bikes. I would definitely recommend over Schellers
A place as genuine as it feels. Great, friendly service.
Very helpful. Fairly priced
You should avoid this bike shop. The own’s (Jack) expert opinion was the chain could be replaced since the rear sprocket was not worn that much. New chain slipped around the sprocket. Returned and he removed a link from the chain. Better, but still slipping. He wanted to adjust the derailed, but adjustment nut was frozen. He sprayed oil on the nut and I agreed to bring it back the next day if it continued slipping. I try riding it home, but had to walk it the 2 miles, the chain slipped too much. Return the next day and request the old chain be put back on with a repair link added. He wanted to adjust the derailed first. He said the derailed cable was worn badly and needed replaced. After cable replacement and adjustment, same chain slippage problem. He pointed out how much play there was in the derailer, indicating it need ed to be replaced. At that point I know I was being had and insisted he put the old chain on with a repair link. The bike worked fine. When I complained that $55.00 was a lot of money to pay for a repair link. He replied that he just did what I asked him to do and had no regrets on the price. At my local bike shop ( in another state) I learned that it is very common knowledge that if a new chain slips - the sprocket is too worn. The solution is to put the old chain back on or replace the rear sprocket cluster. Also a broken chain is a good indicator the sprocket is worn too. If you want sound advice on your bicycle repairs, go to another shop.
This place is terrible. Bad dismissive customer service. Also bad bike services if you are not going to upgrade to the expensive gear these snobs dont want you as a customer and it will show in the shotty work that they do. Unless you are centenarian who spent more than a K on your bike dont go to this place not good for noobs or people just starting out.
Great service!
Rented a road bike. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Ive never had a worse experience at a shop. This guy is the worst! Im amazed he is still in business.
I wish I could give them no stars!I just left Bike Couriers Bike Shop, on market, where yesterday I just purchased some new pursuit handlebars for my fixie and some handle bar tape, that! on the way home(not even five mints later) I noticed where the wrong size for my bicycle. I immediately called the shop and talked to jackie Green(owner) to let him know that the bars were the wrong size, everything was cool over the phone and I waited till the next morning to bring them back as they were closing in five mints. The next morning I get up and ran some arens, and in the middle of doing this I stop by the shop to return the items. Heres where customer services goes out the door and down the drain, so I preceded into the bike shop and let jackie know that the handlebars where the wrong size and that Id like to just return them and the tape, but before doing so I checked the shelf to see if they even carried the correct size, nope, and also the items I was returning where still in the original packaging unopened. So I informed jackie that I just wanted a return and I made a comment that Its just God telling me I dont need them(25.4mm clamp bullhorn pursuit handlebars seem impossible to find locally). Here is where jackie proceeds to give me the run-a-around about how his stores debiting system is set up in such a way that he, is going to keep five dollars and give me back forty six of my fifty one dollars spent!? Now I know a thing or two about business laws, and he had nothing stated/posted in his store or on the receipt stating that if you make a purchase with debit or credit you will not get a full refund. When I asked him how his debit system worked he stated that he didnt understand he just knows this is how it works, and preceded to tell me he was going to keep my money and give me back an amount I assume(because remember he doesnt understand how his debit system works, or how much it charges per swipe for that matter!) a set amount to make up for his processing fees . At this point he is robbing me, but I didnt disrespect him or call him out of his name, and after demanding he give me all of my money back, he wanted me to leave the store, and threatened to call the police on me, before he told me to go talk to god.At this point Ive been robbed, insulted, threatened, and feeling robbed again to be frank! and to think I have shopped with his stores, bought a expansive Jamis Commuter 2 bike(love it), and accessories. I also, recently spent thirty bucks to have two bikes inspected that I bought from Wal-Mart, that I assembled myself for my daughter and fiancé who dont ride enough to warrant spending 500 dollars apiece(its like if youre not spending thousands they dont want to be bothered with you). I should have known then to stop patronizing their business as the guys at the shop didnt inspect the main issue I had with one of the bikes. I will NEVER!, EVER!, SHOP! at Bike Couriers Bike Shop on market or 4th street, AGAIN!, and in my opinion and as !WARNING! to customers serious about cycling and looking for a good bicycle for whatever reason, look somewhere else, and dont waste your time, and If youd like to see firsthand how they treat their customers watch the video I started recorded after jackie told me to go talk to God!.Im also filing a complaint, and posting a video on my facebook page of how I was treated by jackie green over five dollars, after he told me go talk to God!
Very knowledgeable and personable staff
Fixed my flat in no time. Great service!
Great service and good range of products. Walked in got everything I needed and rode out..
