This place is great. It has a great atmosphere and the staff is fun and friendly. Ive had my haircut twice here and wouldnt go anywhere else. Expect to spend a little bit more time than an average haircut (at least for me) but the quality and attention to detail shows.

I definitely not somebody who cares much about getting my haircut and my friends convinced me to go. It was an absolutely amazing place to get a haircut with genuine people, warm vibes, and quality work. If you are looking around for somewhere for a great haircut, look no further!

Benny is the best! His haircuts will get you laid. He also has a wealth of knowledge and is very personable. We have great conversations. The dude is also a herpetology enthusiast. You should ask him about turtles on your next visit. I have seen him several times, and he has never let me down. I have gotten my hair cut by pretty much everyone on the Spanish Fly staff at this point, and they are the best in the business. Spanish Fly Barbershop FTW!

Great location, easy to find parking, inside looks cool as hell, I like the smaller intimate environment and hastle free online appointment portal is a breeze. Steven is my guy and he does an amazing job, I always leave satisfied with an extra pep in my step and a confidence boost. Ive seen some cuts the other barbers have done as well, you will leave with a good cut no matter who you get. Also good music and barbershop conversation.

Ive been going to Steven for haircuts&beard trim for years at Derby City. I was honestly pretty happy to hear that hed moved to Spanish Fly, a shop that actually takes appointments, so you dont have to spend two hours staring at your phone in a crowded shop to get a haircut. Cant recommend him enough. Does consistently great cuts, very personable.The shop itself is great as well. Nice atmosphere, only a couple of barbers on staff, and since they take appointments, there arent 20 people sitting around waiting. Its worth the drive if you arent already downtown!

Exactly what I was looking for in a local barbershop! The moment you step in you feel amongst friends. Everyone is friendly, professional, and genuine.Benny has cut my hair several times now. He’s meticulous about getting your cut perfect! He takes the extra time to “teach me” how he’s using old techniques to cut hair and how to style my hair.

I booked an appointment for a 30.00 haircut and on the day of the appointment I had gotten sick.I tried to call their number but all I got was an answering machine with no way to leave a message.I then emailed them explaining my situation.They still charged my card.I should have just went in an slung snot all over the place instead of caring about their health.

Since Ive moved to Louisville, Ive tried out about 3-4 other barbers in the surrounding area and none come close to the quality haircut and interaction at Spanish Fly. Benny was my barber and my hair seriously looks the best it has in years!!! Benny is a great person to talk to and very relatable; a guy youd have a beer with. Spanish Fly is a very comfortable environment with great service and awesome quality cuts!

I dont generally do reviews, but this is easily one of the top shops in the city of Louisville. Ive received so many bad haircuts in this city, from the barbershops that are supposed to be the best. This has been one of the best cuts Ive had in a while. Benny hooked me up, he took his time, he listened to what I wanted (and didnt want), and the guys there are just generally cool as hell. I highly recommend this shop.

I made an appointment and was helped right on time. My previous haircut at a different shop was done by someone who apparently hated me, but this was the opposite. Benny was Friggin awesome. He spent the time to cut my hair so that it would grow in well. I have had too many hair cuts that looked like farts a week after, so I am happy that he took the time to fix my previous catastrophe from a different shop. Great work and worth more than the price.

I can be a bit particular with my haircut, and this is the only place in town I would really use again. There are other trendy barbers where you can go and wait to get a cut, or just come here and get a good cut without the wait.

NEVER AGAIN !If you value your time, please avoid this place. After booking a appointment, and (showed up 5 mins before my time ) had to wait for 45-55 mins to get to chair. This has happened to me on 4 different occasions now. Alda forces you to talk but does not acknowledge your response. Spend 1.5 hours at this place -where other places can do a better job for the same price and within 30 mins. I did notice - he washed others hair, but neither benny or Alda offered to wash my hair after wash.

Highly recommend this barbershop. Excellent service and attention to detail without the long wait with some of those “other guys”

Best barbershop in Louisville hands down, Ive been to some of the the popular ones like woodys and handsome fellows, but Spanish Fly has surpassed them all in quality and customer service. Adal was very welcoming and professional, so much that it shows his passion for delivering his clients complete satisfaction when entering his shop.

I was blown away by my first haircut by Adal. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his craft and shared his insight with me about my hair while I was “under the knife”. I’ve been back once more and my son has been twice as well.My son doesn’t do clippers, and because Adal was gentle and respectful of that and used his shears entirely, my son now prefers Adal at Spanish Fly over any other place.This guy has like 5 generations of barbers in his heritage and that’s seen throughout his shop from pictures to furnishings. It’s sweet to know that someone who used to get his haircut in his great uncle’s barber chair as a kid now has you seated in it and passes on the artistry to his customers as though they were soaking it up through the cushion!
