I spent almost a year-and-a-half at the lamp Community which is now the people concern it was rough I will admit it is a rough time in any shelter but its possibly the best definitely one of the best shelters in Los Angeles especially with a very high quality food policy. It did literally changed my life they help me get my housing and then a year later I got my Social Security and a year later than that I got my retirement so I am in much better shape before I was at the lamp I was on the street miserable and freaking out
Absolutely horrible advocates BUT the program is helpful they provide meals and sometimes clothes but its not guarantee & if you lucky you get a hotel room.. this place case workers tried to force me to get an abortion & loss my paperwork several times they also gave out my info plus talk about me to non-case workers I had to confronted them it didnt matter they promoted those case managers to supervisors after their foul behavior. be cautious
24 hour showers are dope if youre homeless, certain staff could be a bit more friendly though. They offer laundry but its just as if not more expensive as your typical laundry mat.
This is an artists space located in Skid Row where people from the neighborhood can go to participate in different artistic activities. Theres open mic nights and a music studio there as well.
Great place for people in need they have a lot of services to offer. The staff were amazing understanding of my situation and helped love me back to normal till I could love myself. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Lamp this is a wonderful place it helps people find housing they really do care about the homeless they have laundry room theyve got mail and at studio 5 26 the art project theyve given me my peace of mind and a place for me to go to do art in a safe environment its for any of the homeless or non homeless it doesnt matter they take you as you are they accept you for who you are open mic is a good thing love you guys
Lamp Community has been there advocating for me since 2005 I accepted the ideal of harm reduction when it was a program years age . Lamp Community is now a shelter for client with mental disabilities. I have received my voucher for section 8 with the city of Los Angeles. I am in the process of locating housing for my self. I would like to thank the staff of Lamp Community Nest and Village department for helping me to achieve this milestone in my life. Special thank to Stuart Robinson what would the Transgender Community of Skid Row have done if it was not for you opening the door of the Village to the forgotten community. Today I appreciate what they have done for me many other not only the transgender community, but the skid row community as a whole.
Although I absolutely hate coming to this part of DT (skidrow) I must say on the back end of the building the security staff was much more helpful than the ones in the Main Street. I was able to get my client seen by his lamp case worker and she was really nice.
Good place to get into a program or activities for the homeless
Its a amazing and interesting place for creativity and artistic people to be friendly and open not judgemental places
Its one of the most amazing stories with so much different colors shades of lamps people are very nice and I really appreciate the opportunity to be around positive people
Its a nice place to relax and help others. a lot of nice people. Lots of art and artists.
Cant really say much. Pretty cut and dried. County rules. Etc.
My experience with the lamp was not good. I feel they are very discriminatory themselves in who and what they do for people.
A place to get yourself together and obtain housing
Yoga classes on Monday, are awesome 1 to 2 Free!!
Couldnt get into the program because i had no id. On the better end, the showers are free, crowded and hot for a short time. Its still terrible, not nearly enough time alloted per shower and shortage of hot water. Showers are open to those without identification cards as well.
Definitely one of the best social program Outlets of Los Angeles County they care for the sick or homeless and pretty much people that have lost everything Lamp has a great team of people that they will help for you to achieve any kind of stability
Very nice very friend ly place to visit
They are of great assistance to the community. God bless them and their business.

I do not know anything about this program but Id like to give some info to anyone who might need it... if youre getting any type of public assistance, ask your worker for a voucher to get a free ID card at the DMV...
